Chapter twenty
Lauren watched from the door way of her bedroom, watching her daughter sleep, she was perfect.
Lauren swore to herself ever since she found out she was pregnant that she would be the best mother she could possibly be, she was going to be mum and dad.
"Hello beautiful" Lauren giggled at her daughter. Macy was one week old today and Lauren adored her. The only thing that bothered her was that she had joeys eyes.
Lauren had worked it out and she must of been about three months pregnant when Joey left, so Macy was most likely conceived when her and Joey slept together for the first time.
It still made her so angry that Joey had just up and left, even if he didn't know she was pregnant, he was still meant to be there for her, one question always repeated itself to her. 'Why couldn't he love me?'.
Lauren shook all thoughts out of her head and picked Macy up out of the cot.
"Shall we get some breakfast ay? Yeah"
Lauren gave Macy her bottle and began to get ten both ready for the day, Lauren spent Mondays with max.
"You off babe?" Sean asked her. "Er yeah off to see max, see yourself out yeah?" Lauren said.
"Okay I'll call you later darling" he smiled. Lauren stared at him for a moment. "Don't call me darling please, you know I don't like it" she told him before walking out.
Lauren let a sharp breath out, she didn't even know what she was doing with Sean, he was just there and Lauren liked that. He was the most geekiest of guys, not that that was a problem but she just knew she was only with him because she was scared of being on her own and she felt guilty that Macy had no father figure.
Lauren walked next door to Max's, she giggled as she saw him in his usual position, standing at the door smiling with two cups of teas in hand.
"Morning" Lauren said. "Morning sweetheart, how's my little girl?" He asked smiling.
"She's good" Lauren said pushing the pushchair through the house. "Wide awake though, she slept straight through last night" Lauren told him.
"Oo that's my girl" max chuckled. Lauren lifted Macy out of the pushchair and hold her against her as her and max sat on the sofa.
"Come on then let me hold her" he said excitedly. Lauren smiled at him, he was so great with her. "What about that ay Mace? Wanna go to grandad?" Lauren cooed.
Macy let out a weird gurgling noise and max chuckled. "I think that was a yes" max said.
Lauren giggled. "Yeah course it was" she giggled. "Right just nipping toilet" she said, getting up off the sofa.
Tanya came through the door with Abi and max got up and out a sleeping Macy into the pushchair.
"Hey darling, did you forget somet-" max began but he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw a familiar face in the hallway as well as his wife and daughter.
"You have got three seconds to get the fuck out of my house" max scolded Joey.
"Max just let him explain, please" Tanya said. Max moved them all in to the living room. "Are you serious tan" he said, staring at her in disbelief.
"Trust me max it's not what you think" Tanya told him. Max looked at Joey and caught him staring at the baby, who had just let out a ear piercing scream.
"Whose is that baby?" Joey asked. "That's none of your business, now get out" max shouted.
Lauren came running through the door after hearing Macy scream. She picked her up and cradled her to ht chest. She had her back to the others so she hadn't seen joey yet.
"Hey Macy, what you crying at ay?" She cooed. Max motioned with his hands got Joey to get out but he shook his head at max.
"Get out!" Max shouted causing Lauren to jump and Macy to cry. She spun around and came face to face with Joey.
She didn't say anything just stared at him. "Hi darling" Joey said. Lauren's scowl let joey knew exactly what she was thinking.
"Is that what you brought me here for?" Lauren snapped at max. "No Lauren, I swear I knew nothing about this" max pleaded.
Lauren began getting Macy and her things getting ready to leave. "We need to talk Lauren" Joey said. "Is she my baby?" He asked.
Lauren put Macy in her pushchair and got her coat on. "One. Her name is Macy. Two. She's my daughter and three. You stay the hell away from me and mace you selfish prick" she snapped.
Everyone looked to the door as it opened. Sean came through smiling. "You forgot your car keys babe" he announced. Joey narrowed his eyes at Sean and raised an eyebrow.
"Thanks" she smiled. "Give daddy a kiss" he cooed over Macy. Lauren forced her eyes right shut, he always said things at the most inconvenient times. She saw joey narrowing his eyes at her.
"I'm taking Macy out for the day" she told him. "Oh, come on then, I'll help you get everything in the car" Sean said.
"Thanks" Lauren told him, kissing him on the lips. Lauren and Sean left the house without another word.
"Somebody wanna tell me why that idiot is playing boyfriend to my girlfriend and daddy to my daughter?" Joey snapped. There were awkward glances around the room accept for max who was confused about the whole thing.
