The Silver Demon
A/N: The battle is over, but the journey is not. As this chapter in our hero's lives concludes, a new chapter opens. Everyone's next journey is even more dangerous than the previous, but will everyone be ready for it? It will only be a matter of time. What will be the first steps of their journey? Chapter 21: A Dangerous Journey
Kagome stares at the walls of her room. It has been three weeks since the final battle. After two days of waiting for Inuyasha to return, he never did. She cried for days until she decided to return to her world. She said goodbye to Miroku and Sango and told them she might return one day, when she decided to. Miroku and Sango said their goodbyes to her as she went through the well. However, when she decided to visit them a week ago, the well did not work. No matter how many times she tried, the well simply did not work.
Since then, Kagome decided to continue her studies. She badly wants to see everyone from the past, but she knows she can never meet everyone again. Kagome walks over to the window of her room as she stares at the sky. The moment she returned, her mother, brother, and grandfather hugged her since they noticed how ruin her clothing was. Kagome begins to recall her moments with Inuyasha as well as their adventure.

Rin travels with Kaede as she points out to the elder woman the numerous flowers she has been planting. Kaede smiles at Rin helping the younger girl. Miroku and Sango watch Rin talk with Kaede. Miroku holds onto Sango, as they enjoy each other's warmth. Shippo smiles finally enjoying the peaceful time. He looks around as the villagers begin to resume their ordinary lives. The large amount of darkness looming over the land has ceased. Sure, there are still other demons out there, but he knows there will always be someone to stop them. First, he will need to increase his own strength. He must become a full fledge fox demon. All he has to do is take the first step.
Meanwhile, on a nearby hill, watching over the village, Sesshomaru stares at the village alongside Jaken and A-Un. Kaede convinced him to allow Rin to live among the humans, so when she grows up, she can make her decision to choose to stay or follow him. Sesshomaru looks towards the sky. Even though he will not admit it, he wonders if Inuyasha is alive. Orion did not tell something to everyone. Whatever it is, he has a feeling Inuyasha knows about it. Belenus was a person not of this world. He is sure there are others out there like him. Sesshomaru already explained this to Miroku and Sango and the two humans agreed. Sesshomaru will become stronger just in case another superpower being decides to go after the Crystal of Power.
Kohaku travels through Kaede's Village with a group of people wearing similar armor to the demon slayers. Kirara travels alongside him as Kohaku finally meets up with Sango and Miroku. Sango smiles at her younger brother as she wonders what he plans to do.
"So, are these the new recruits?" asked Sango.
"Yes, Kirara and I plan on traveling the world and becoming stronger," said Kohaku. "Once we are ready, we will set up a defense for Aka Shrine."
"All right, just be careful," said Sango. "Leave Aka Shrine to Miroku, Sesshomaru, and I."
"Yes sister," replied Kohaku. "Take care of yourself."
Kohaku turns as he, Kirara, and the new recruits leave Kaede's Village. Sango does not know how long it will be until she sees Kohaku again, but she hopes he returns stronger than ever. She will also improve her skills alongside Miroku. They will prepare themselves and fight if needed. They simply hope it does not happen. Miroku has the same thoughts as Sango. Even though they are ready to fight, they are tired at the same time. Naraku had been a long journey. Now, they simply want to rest. Miroku tightens his hold on Sango as she looks at him with love in her eyes. Miroku smiles back as they kiss putting all of their emotions into the contact.
Far away from Kaede's Village, Koga and Ayame take charge of the wolf demon tribe. Koga knows he did not participate in the final battle, but he did learn of the facts from Miroku after visiting the monk. This Crystal of Power is something nobody should have, not even him. Koga has explained the situation to the wolves and everyone agreed to aid the humans only in the situation needs them. For now, they will increase their strength and unite others to their cause. Koga turns to Ayame as she smiles at him. He rubs the back of his neck nervously before she grabs him and pulls the wolf demon into a kiss. He struggles for a few seconds before finally giving in.

Kagome enters her home after a long day at school. She walks up to her room after hello to her mother and opens the door before walking in. She takes a deep breath before sitting down on her bed. She begins to dig into her backpack, but the moment she does, she sees a flash of red on the corner of her eye. She snaps her attention towards the window, but she sees nothing. However, she looks down and notices a red cloth with a few burnt marks on them. Kagome's eyes widen as she recognizes the red cloth and approaches it. Every step causes her heart to beat faster than before as she places her hands onto the cloth feeling its material through her fingers. Immediately, she recognizes the cloth belonging to him. She raises the cloth to her face rubbing it to her cheek. This definitely belongs to him.
Suddenly, Kagome hears a noise outside causing her to run towards her window as she opens it a few seconds later. She looks outside, but she does not see anything out of the ordinary. Perhaps, she is beginning to see and hear things are mind wants to see and hear. She takes a few steps back into her as she closes her window with tears running down her cheeks. She wanted to see him. She hoped he is still alive. Kagome clenches the cloth in her hands only to hear something crumble inside piece of clothing. The young woman opens the cloth and discovers a note inside causing her to smile. She places the cloth gently on her table and then opens the note.
'Keep yourself safe,' read Kagome in her mind. 'I'll find you again.'
Kagome smiles as tears run down her cheeks. He is alive and well. She does not know how Inuyasha was able to give her the note if the well is closed, but her only thought, runs to Orion. She does not know what Inuyasha is doing now, but she hopes he stays safe as well.
"Take care, Inuyasha," said Kagome as she places the note inside the cloth before heading towards her closet.

Belenus opens his eyes and realizes he is inside a cave. He tries to move, but numerous burnt marks on his body prevent him. Soon, he hears noise in the room causing Belenus to clenches his teeth, but soon a familiar person enters his view. This person wears a black coat, but has the hood down revealing a person with black hair and a scar on his neck.
"Fearghas?" inquired Belenus.
"You look like shit. You're lucky I arrived before you killed yourself," said Fearghas as he grabs a bottle of water. "Here."
Belenus takes the water before lying back down.
"Lost as well," said Fearghas.
"Shut up," said Belenus. "Losing to a demon is better than a human pirate."
"A half-demon," retorted Fearghas. "I'll give you something to help you move while masking the pain. We have a meeting to attend to."
"Fine," said Belenus as he takes the pill.
Belenus fills something in his pocket causing him to take the object out.
"What's that?" asked Fearghas.
"It's just the spiritual powers I took from Kikyo," said Belenus.
"Want me to destroy it?" inquired Fearghas.
"No, it might be helpful one day," said Belenus as he stands up. "For now, I'll keep it. Let's go."
Ten minutes later, Fearghas helps Belenus to another larger room, which is much fancier. Belenus notices four other figures already sitting around a round table. He recognizes them as Wotan with red hair, Balder with brown hair, Midas with blue hair, and Icarus with yellow hair. Fearghas drops Belenus on a chair causing him to wince.
"Hey, careful," said Belenus.
Fearghas rolls his eyes as he sits in another chair leaving one chair remaining. Soon, they hear footsteps as their seventh member begins to walk towards the table. Belenus clenches the table edge in front of him as fear runs down his spine. He is the latest failure and sure enough, their lord will not be pleased. The seventh person remains in the shadows for a few seconds before stepping into the light revealing his face. His short silver hair waves a bit, as his silver eyes stare around him in anger causing the other six men to tremble. The man massages his silver moustache and beard as he takes a deep breath before taking the last chair and sitting down.
"I see all of my failure comrades are here," said the man.
"Lord Pluton," started Belenus only for a simple stare from the silver-haired man stops him.
"I do not want to hear any excuse!" exclaimed Pluton. "I kidnapped Travis' family and friends to force him to search for them. Thus, it was your jobs to find the Crystal of Powers while he was distracted, but you all failed! Now Travis is closer to finding them and is close to another crystal! All of you failed to deliver!"
The other six men remain silent because they seriously do not want to anger their leader any further.
"All of you will stay here," said Pluton. "I will kill Travis and eliminate any chance our enemies have of victory. I will show you how it is done. Dismissed!"
Pluton disappears leaving the other six men breathing room. The last thing they want is their leader going on a rampage.

Inuyasha stares at the unknown world in front of him. He does not know where he is, but he is glad he is away from any supernova attacks. However, he is not happy about leaving Kagome or the others behind. He wants to be there and sees how things go, but Orion needs his help. Soon, Orion walks next to Inuyasha looking at the half-demon.
"Did you give her your message?" asked Orion.
"Yeah," replied Inuyasha. "Thanks for letting me."
Orion sighs as he massages the back of his neck. Even though they stopped Belenus, they failed to kill him.
"Normally, I would have said to lose all contact with the people you know," said Orion. "However, from the past few adventures of mine, I know it is not possible. Nobody listens to me. You're lucky I let you leave a message for her. So, how are your injuries?"
"They're fine," replied Inuyasha.
"Good," said Orion as he stares towards the sky sensing a tremendous power.
'Their leader is on the move,' thought Orion as he senses another power. 'So is Travis.'
"It is time," said Orion causing Inuyasha to turn towards him.
"Time for what?" asked Inuyasha.
"For you to meet your new allies," replied Orion. "Time for all of you to unite under one team. It is time for all of you to show yourselves. The one controlling the shadow monsters is on the move. We are to make the same move as well. Come Inuyasha; let us bring these monsters down once and for all."
Orion turns to his right as a seal appears in front of him. A few seconds later, a portal opens as Orion walks through it. Inuyasha remains motionless for a few seconds while taking one last look towards the sky. He will keep his promise to Kagome. Even though Orion has stated he might never see Kagome again or anyone else, Inuyasha will do his best to see her one last time. He might not see Kagome in person for a while, but he will protect her, no matter what. Inuyasha will hunt Belenus down and will save everyone from the shadow monsters. His next journey will be dangerous, but Inuyasha will face it with determination. Once he goes through the portal, there will be no going back. However, he will not run.
'I'll be back everyone, just wait for a little while,' thought Inuyasha as he walks through the portal beginning his next adventure.

A/N: This is the end of the story. I want to thank everyone who has read, reviewed, favored, and followed my story since I began writing it. Of course, this is not the end of the overall story. For those who have read my previous stories, you might understand what happened in this chapter and what is going to happen in the future. This is the last major story before the crossover. I plan to release a couple of one-shot stories that connect to this story before the first crossover chapter is released. I'll say around three weeks after I release this chapter, give or take a few days. There are a few people, who have been waiting for the crossover story, well, the moment is almost here.
