Heavy breathing caught the brunette boy's ears as he looked into those eyes. She stood there, her face confused, her body healed, her hair messy, her face covered in soot and sweat.

Ben looked at her, he couldn't believe it, she was….. She was there! She was in front of him! He wasn't dreaming, heck he hoped to Arceus he wasn't dreaming, or that the heat was playing tricks on his mind.

"You gonna sit there forever?" her voice, it was like an angels. He'd missed it so much. He'd missed her so much. And now…. Now she was back.

Ben bolted to his feet. His arms wrapped around his partner's waist as he buried his head into her chest. Summer froze, her body suddenly ached and her legs suddenly gave out. The two toppled to the ground, Ben grunted as he landed on top of her. Summer looked up at him; she could feel blood oozing from her back.

Ben looked down at his partner. His eyes scanned her every inch; he couldn't believe she was here! He couldn't believe she'd found them!

"Ben, you're kinda crushing me," the brunette suddenly came back to his senses. He jumped off the girl on the ground and quickly looked around, but the Team Black members were gone.

Breathing a small sigh of relief Ben held his hand out to Summer, who gratefully took it. It was now her time to envelop her partner in a bone crushing hug.

Ben stood shocked, his eyes filled with tears as he hugged her back.

"I'm glad you're okay," he whispered as he held onto her for dear life. "I missed you. Don't leave again," he added on. Summer soon found the tears spilling from her eyes.

"I'm sorry," she whispered as she pulled away from the brunette. Ben smiled a sad smile as he wiped her tears away. "I-,"

"Let's not talk about what's happened, the others deserve to know as much as I do. So for now, let's just kick Team Black's butt," he smiled as he held her face. Summer smiled back and nodded her head.

Turning on her heel, Summer began to lead the way through the volcano towards where she assumed Team Black would be.

"So, you wanna fill me in?" she asked, snapping Ben out of his little day dream. He still couldn't believe his partner was really back with him.

"Team Black started appearing not long ago, at first they were no threat. But when we figured out their plan, which was to summer Groudon and Kyogre, we knew something was wrong," he started.

"I don't see what the big deal is, are they trying to get rid of Rayquaza as well?" Summer asked.

"Unfortunately yes, they're going to rid Rayquaza of the world."

"Then I see the problem. I take it Kate, Keith and Ania are dealing with the other three legendries," Summer guessed. Ben simply nodded his head.

"Yeah, and Wendy and Sven should be dealing with Darkrai and Cresselia," at that, Summer's body froze.

"What? Why?" she asked frantically.

"Well, if Rayquaza is eliminated then Darkrai will step in and make things worse, unless Cresselia can stop Darkrai and Team Black are more than likely going to eliminate Cresselia as well," he explained. Summer stopped in her tracks, her eyes turning into a deadly glare as she turned to Ben.

"Darkrai will not get caught up in this. Ever!" she yelled at the brunette. Ben flinched slightly. Why did she suddenly snap? As if acting like she had just shouted at a child, Summer's mood changed. "I- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap," she whispered as she continued walking.

"Summer?" Ben whispered as he walked up behind her.

"Hm?"

"What happens if Darkrai gets involved?" he asked.

"Basically the end of the world," Summer answered as she stopped walking. Ben looked at her confusedly. "Come on Ben, you're a ranger, I figured you'd have figured it out by now," she added. Ben only gave the brunette a confused look. Summer stopped herself from face palming as she sighed.

"Right, let's think about it this way. Groudon and Kyogre are opposites, land and water. Darkrai and Cresselia are the same, light and darkness. Now Rayquaza is the one who controls the sky and everything. Take Rayquaza out and there will be no wind, take Cresselia out and there's no light. While Groudon and Kyogre fight humanity will be annihilated due to them. However, all they will do is create more land and water," Ben listened with interest. His best friend had only just woken up from a coma and already she knew what was happening. "Now, if you add Darkrai to the equation. He can send Kyogre and Groudon to the dark void like he tried to do with Kate and Keith. However, if he succeeds then the world will be flushed into darkness. Kinda like what almost happened with Dim Sun, only it'll work," Summer finished explaining.

"So basically Darkrai says hi and humanity says bye?" Ben asked. Summer's eyes narrowed.

"That was the only thing you picked up from that?" she asked, the brunette nodded. Summer glared. "Basically yes, that is what'll happen," she spoke.

"Okay, then what're we waiting for, let's kick some Team Black ass," Ben stated as he took off running further into the volcano.

"I guess now's when I start wondering why I came back," Summer sighed as she sweat dropped, continuing after the boy.

Ben huffed as he and Summer both made it deeper into the cave. The temperature was rising quicker than he had ever known anything to heat up.

"Oh man, I'm dying," he huffed, Summer nodded her head.

"What worries me is that we haven't seen any Team Black members yet. Are we even heading in the right direction?" she asked as she looked around. Ben didn't answer her.

"Ben-," as Summer turned to look at her partner she saw he had removed his shirt. Her mouth dropped as she watched him struggling to get it over her head. She eyes trailed over his abs, dripping wet with sweat. The brunette girl suddenly felt her cheeks heating up quicker. It took a moment for her to register, she was blushing.

Ben finally wrestled his shirt off and threw it to the side. He looked at Summer and gave her a goofy grin. Summer only blushed harder.

"W-why did you t-take that o-off?" she asked, cursing slightly under her breath as she stuttered. Ben looked over at her, an innocent, yet charming look on his face. Summer gulped.

"Why not, it's absolutely boiling down here and the heat's probably gonna burn a hole through the material," Summer sweat dropped at the answered as she turned on her heel.

"It doesn't work like that, Ben," she sighed, but squeaked as she felt someone grasp her hand and turn her around. Summer's back hit a burning wall as Ben placed an arm above her head.

"Besides, I don't see you complaining," he spoke with a smirk. Summer didn't dare look at the boy, but she had no choice as he gripped her chin between his thumb and forefinger.

He turned her head to make her look at him and for a moment she saw the young Ben. She saw the one she got along with so well. But at the same time, she saw the man he had matured into. The eyes that used to be so carefree and careless were now, still carefree, but they had matured, they were also caring and seemed kinder.

"B-Ben, get should c…. carry on with th-the m-mission," she saw a looked that resembled disappointment in his eyes. He sighed and nodded his head.

"Well isn't this a disgustingly sweet display of affection. Who you flirting with Ranger?" Summer's body froze as she heard that voice, that all too familiar voice. Her knees started to shake as her hand gripped onto Ben's arm. Tears began to fill her eyes and Ben, for just a moment, looked shocked at his partner.

Looking over his shoulder, he saw Jayden, stood with the girls from before. A tear ran down from Summer's eyes as she remembered everything he had done to her. Ben looked at her concerned, maybe he should get her out of here.

Her grip on his arm tightened and, as quickly as they came, the tears stopped. Summer looked up at him with a determined expression and Ben smirked. He pecked her forehead as stepped away from her.

Jayden watched as the scene unfolded, still unsure as to who the person who was with him was. He didn't believe Yuuki when he saw Summer was back. After all she was left for dead. She was in a bloody coma. How, in the name of Arceus, was she supposed to make it out of that?

Ben turned his head to Jayden as Summer looked up at her brother. His eyes widened as he saw her. Her wounds had healed yes, but they had scarred, her body was covered head to toe.

Ben stood next to the brunette as he smirked as Jayden, who glared at him.

"How? How did she survive?" he asked. Ben shrugged.

"Because we believe in," he answered. Jayden looked back at Summer as he hissed. He hated the sight of her. Their father had died at the hands of her. She was no sister of his. Their father was doing what was right for the world and he died! Yet when Summer did wrong for the world she lived! How was that fair?! How was any of it fair?!

"I told you," Yuuki hissed as she glared at Jayden, who smirked.

"No matter, they won't proceed any further than this," he whispered. In the distance growls and barks from pokemon were heard Summer's eyes widened as she saw Mightyena being brought forwards. Ben flinched as Summer looked at their wild states, they were angry.

"Hey, that's gonna be what you look like when we win," Ben smirked as he looked at Jayden, who glared at him.

"Tell me something now, Rangers. Are you going to be able to fend yourselves from these pokemon and us?" he asked, Ben growled. They were outnumbered. Looking around there were at least ten Team Black grunts, five Mightyena and then Jayden and Yuuki themselves.

"After all, your other Ranger friends couldn't," Yuuki laughed. Summer glared at the woman as she took a step forwards, Ben joined her.

"We are Rangers, and we will do whatever it takes to save our friends and family," Ben spoke as he drew his styler. Jayden scoffed at the boy.

"Can you handle the Mightyena?" Summer asked. Ben looked at her in shock. "I got some bones to break with my darling brother and his friends," she hissed as she cracked her knuckles. Ben gave her a sceptical look and shook his head.

"Getting revenge isn't the priority here, protecting Groudon is," he stated.

"And in the process if getting revenge is an option, I'm taking it," Summer replied, Ben sighed.

"Alright, just try not to kill anyone," he ordered.

"Deal," Summer spoke as the Mightyena were released from their chains. Summer quickly dodged out of the way as Ben moved to the opposite side, releasing his styler in the process.

Summer took down two of the grunts, no problem. However, she was suddenly kicked in her back, sending her flying face first onto the floor. She felt grunts restrain her arms and legs as a knife was pointed towards her throat.

"This time I'll make sure you die," Jayden hissed as he glared down at his little sister. Unlike what he expected, Summer eyes filled with anger. She wasn't afraid of him anymore.

Kicking her legs slightly her unrestrained herself from the two grunts holding her. She could feel Jayden's knife piercing her skin in the process. Bringing on leg up she kicked her brother in the back of the head, then wrapped the same leg around his neck and threw him onto the floor behind him.

The brief shock of the other grunts gave Summer enough time to escape their grasps. She jumped to her feet once more before knocking the two out.

"Six down, six to go," she whispered to herself as she looked at the grunts. Five surrounded her, Jayden was on the floor and Yuuki- wait! Where was Yuuki?

Summer turned on her heel, fearing the worst. Her heart sunk as she saw Yuuki slowly creeping up on Ben. She had the urge to call out his name, to warn him.

"I wouldn't do that, unless you want all your friends to die," Jayden laughed. Summer turned to him; he held a small mobile device in his hands. Her eyes widened as she saw Kate and Keith strung up in a metal room.

"What did you do?" she hissed.

"Only a small ambush, they couldn't defeat us, and neither can you," Jayden laughed as he looked at Summer, who continued to watch the screen. A painful scream reached her ears, snapping the brunette out of it.

She turned around once more to see Ben on the ground, blood spilling from his back and Yuuki… holding the weapon responsible. Summer watched as Yuuki and the two remaining Mightyena made their way towards her.

"It's over, Summer," Jayden snickered as he looked at her. Summer balled her fists as she thought about all the times her and her friends had shared. The laughs, the tears, the parties, the victories, when they first met. How Ben had helped her out of Team Darkness. But they were losing; there was no way she could win.

Summer shook her head, no, she could win. She glared at her brother and, even if she did lose, she was taking that bastard down with her.

"I have love in my heart and that love makes me strong," Summer whispered as she smirked at Jayden. "Let's dance, brother," she hissed. Jayden glared as he charged for his sister. Summer stood; ready redirect the attack and fight back.

One thing was for sure, she wasn't giving up without a fight.
