Two years had flown by and they had long since happily settled into their not-so-new home. Elladora was two years old and toddled around the house after a much faster Scorpius. The walls of the house had seen screaming children and parents, tantrums and sweet morning hugs. Now snow had started to fall and Christmas lights had been put up all over by Muggles and wizards alike.

The house sat on sprawling grounds and Scorpius was a huge fan of trekking out into the drifts of snow. Astoria was not so fond of it. She loved the snow but more so from the warm inside of the house. Draco was much more willing to bundle up in thick coats and gloves to go sledding with his unstoppable son. Astoria sat inside with Elladora who squealed with delight when Scorpius thoughtfully dumped snow on the floor for her to sample (not so thoughtfully placing it on the rug).

Astoria had gracefully draped lights across the front yard with her wand to the great enjoyment of both Scorpius and Elladora. Draco had hung a thick evergreen wreath on their front door and a Christmas tree had been erected in the living room near the fireplace where stockings had been hung. Christina Warbeck crooned old Christmas carols from the radio the day they had decorated the tree. Astoria thought happily that their house was even more beautiful than Hogwarts had been at Christmas time.

As December 25th approached Scorpius grew more and more curious about Santa Claus. This required that Draco and Astoria consult each other before answering his questions so that their answers matched up. Narcissa eagerly volunteered to watch both Scorpius and Elladora while Draco and Astoria snuck out to buy presents.

For the past hour, the house had been silent; a pleasant sound to Draco's ears. Scorpius and Elladora had both been shipped off to the Manor; received by their delighted grandmother. He loved his children more than anything but they were far more obnoxious than he remembered being at their age (Astoria thought he had probably been even more obnoxious and Narcissa had confirmed that, much to her amusement).

Astoria was upstairs putting on a little make-up. She usually had no time or willpower to do that most days and this made her feel more like her glamorous younger self. She pulled on a thick knit sweater and Muggle jeans before wrapping a warm scarf around her neck. Draco was downstairs in the kitchen reading Scorpius' diligently kept and mostly mispelled list of presents that he had asked for.

He heard the click of Astoria's boots on the floor and felt her arms wrap around his waist while her lips pressed into his shoulder. "Hey, love," he said, wrapping an arm around her and planting a scattered amount of kisses on her head. "Should we go?" she sighed, starting to turn away.

Draco pulled her back sharply; "Can't I kiss my beautiful wife?" he demanded, leaving a trail of kisses up her neck. Astoria groaned quietly into his shoulder; heat pooling in her lower body.

Pressing his wife into the countertop, Draco was very glad that his mother had leaped at the chance to watch her grandchildren for the night. Christmas shopping wasn't all he wanted to do that night. His hands slid across Astoria's body roughly, gripping her and cupping her as she clutched fistfuls of his hair in her hands. This was going exactly as he had planned and if this continued down this path, they wouldn't be leaving the house at all tonight. Perhaps instead they could make their way up to the bedroom where he could show Astoria exactly how much he loved her.

Astoria stretched up to his ear; "Draco," she whispered quietly, smirking slightly when she felt him shudder underneath her. "Can you do something for me?" she moaned into his ear, tugging slightly at his belt. "Anything," he vowed hoarsely with a mind full of vivid images of Astoria draped in various ways across their bed.

She kissed his neck slowly, "finish the Christmas shopping with me before you try to get me into bed with you," she responded briskly, pulling away from a very disappointed husband. Reluctantly he Disapparated behind her to Diagon Alley mumbling about unfair vixens and teasing wives.

Astoria dragged a reluctant Draco through an assortment of stores purchasing most of the things that Scorpius had asked for; while Draco thought a pet unicorn was reasonable, Astoria declared it out of the question. Just as Astoria tucked the list in her pocket, she liked to keep them when they were done with them; Draco was struck by a sudden inspiration. With their hands full of bags Draco led Astoria over to Quality Quidditch Supplies where glittering window displays showed off the latest brooms.

"Absolutely not." Astoria said firmly, crossing her arms and looking at her husband sternly. "Come on Astoria, Scorpius is old enough! He'd be great at Quidditch! I bet he could make the team at Hogwarts one day," Draco argued earnestly, he was determined to win this one. Lucius had given him his first broom at a much younger age.

Astoria shook her head and pursed her lips, a warning sign. "Draco, he ran into the wall yesterday, I hardly think our son is ready to zip around on a broomstick in the air." Draco frowned but he had expected this approach, "we'll get him a little one, one that only floats a few feet off the ground and goes incredibly slow." Saying this, he dragged her over to a shelf of brooms designed specifically for younger children.

An hour later they left the store, Draco clutching a small broom shaped parcel triumphantly.
