Song: The Sharpest Lives by My Chemical Romance
Lyrics: A light to burn all the empires
You see, long-long ago, a spell was cast on the sea and another casted upon a river of fire, a spell that created life from the energy. Two women were born, one of flames and the other of the sea. Both grew to develop the ability to control the energies from which they were created, becoming extremely powerful. Both had gone so long without anybody to talk to, locked in the depths of an ocean or heart of a volcano, until one of two met a Demon Lord. The sister that was of the sea grew concerned about her sibling, she had been causing trouble for the humans of the world. Soon, with the help of the Demon Lord she had befriended, she led a raid on a small island that was populated with human villages.
The sister of the sea could only watch in horror as the land was covered in bright flames the licked at the stars above and listen to a haunting laugh ring through the air each time a body fell to the ground. The sea sister noticed a boat, the merchant ship that came to the island once every moon. She could see the humans began to panic at the sight of Hell on earth, yet they could do nothing to save themselves yet- the wind was pushing them exceedingly fast towards land. As they neared, two figures emerged from the flames and onto the beach. They were shadowed by bright lights behind them, so their details were unclear. One was a tall man with twin shapes seemingly attached to his head with a long, skinny object that he held as if he was going to pass it to the other figure. The second shape was much smaller, obviously female, with long hair who held her hand out for the object in the man's hand.
In the light of the flames, the sister of the sea could make out the shape to be a sword.
The woman watched as the shadow raised the sword over her head, then brought it down across her body.
Silence.
Boom!
The ship full of merchants erupted in flames, the bodies' combusted in place. Leaving nothing but ash in their places on the deck.
Another laugh cut through the air as the ship sunk.
Years had passed since the fall of the village and word had spread quickly through the nearby continent, through merchants who traveled to the island after the fires had disappeared. Rumors had spread about a demon who would burn villages who didn't bow and sacrifice to him. So every year, villages would put a sacrifice together, the best goat or cow and sometimes a beautiful maiden, and throw it into the most active volcano in their country where the entrance to hell was said to be located at.
For hundreds of years, the demon and the spirt rested in the volcano, satisfied with the fear of the people living beneath their wrath.
But one day, in the dead of night, the sea began to retreat from the shores of the continent where the demon and spirit dominated together. The demon noticed and left his home to see what was going on, the spirit of Fire stayed in the volcano to watch.
As the demon lord stood on the beach, an incomprehensible amount of magic hit him, injuring to the point of dangerously close to losing his 'life'. The spirit dubbed Red Witch saw her partner become injured and rushed to his aid.
But, by the same time the Red Witch had a physical form, the Sea was already standing above the demons body, sword poised over his, neck ready to bring him to an end at that very moment.
The witch cried out, swinging a sword down upon the sea with a ferocity that an average person could never hope to achieve. The Sea easily blocked the blow, bringing her own sword down to try and maim her opponent. Blows and blocks were deflected for some minutes, Fire trying to protect the demon, and the Sea trying to destroy both the demon and the witch.
Soon, the Sea caught the witch with an opening, and took the chance.
A scream tore through the air as the sword pierced the abdomen of witch, black blood dripped from the wound as she stumbled backwards towards the body of her ailing comrade.
At the feeling of blood on his face, the demon awoke and saw the damage that had been reeked in his unconsciousness. The black liquid that covered the sand and the uneven gasps of his partner caused his eyes to open and him to sit up.
The demon's eyes widened at the sight before him, then narrowed sharply in the direction of the Sea.
The demon grasped the sword that was sticking out of the side of his Witch, trying to save her and remove the weapon. The woman screamed in pain, shouting for him to stop and to not touch it.
The Sea watched as the demon picked himself up off of the sand, facing the Sea with a hatred she had never seen before burning in his eyes.
The demon warned her that they would be back, and that she would rue the day that she challenged them.
And with that, he cast a spell and both the man and the woman vanished and haven't been seen since; however, they people of the country had legends passed down through generations saying their spirts stilled lived in the volcanoes, sleeping until it was time for them to awaken and seek their revenge.
"So that's the legend?" Natsu asked the petite bookworm.
"Yes," she said, closing the book. "But it is just a legend. We could ask Juvia if it's true or not but I'm not sure if she would know or if this will help us at all in figuring out what's going on."
"Either, there is usually some truth behind legends so we should start by investigating that island and villages surrounding the volcano- Levy will hit the books and Natsu and Lucy will head south." Master
Natsu nodded, Lucy sat quietly.
"That is all for now," Makorav said then jumped off the table. "Head home and get a good night's sleep. We don't know what will happen tomorrow."
