The Walking Dead: Fight for Survival
Chapter 21: the journey continues
Well my fellow readers and friends, this is the last chapter until No Going Back has been released, and depending on how it goes, I'm not sure what I will do yet. But once I've played the episode, I'll figure something out. Also, back in the previous chapter, I was originally planning to have Jane killed when she saved Sarah, but I changed my mind and decided to keep both of them alive.
And as pure usual, I am talking too much. Here's chapter 21, hope you all enjoy.
Night-time had arrived since the events of earlier that day, and the group was still inside the gift shop. Half of them were asleep; trying to get some rest after all they have been through.
Lee was keeping watch, although walkers getting up here was very unlikely, Jane was standing outside, looking out into the open with her arms folded, and as for Rebecca, she was still awake, cradling her new-born baby that had been cleaned with the water they found and wrapped up in a green blanket. They would need more supplies for a baby in the future, but they were okay for now.
Clementine, whom had been asleep for quite some time had woken up for some unknown reason, and the first thing her eyes had met was Rebecca, who continued to admire her little baby. She raised a slight smile as she leaned up.
Rebecca shifted her eyes away from her baby when seeing Clementine awake and sitting up to greet her. "Hey Clementine."
"Hey Rebecca." Clementine returned the greeting as she sat down with her legs crossed together in a lotus position. She kept her voice quiet to avoid waking the others up. "How's the baby doing?"
"He's just perfect, Clem." Rebecca answered, beginning to speak in a cute voice to her baby. "Who's a perfect little baby? You are. Who's the most perfect little man in the whole wide world? You are!"
"He looks just like Alvin." Clementine admitted, raising a smile across her face. She remembered how everyone assumed the baby was Carvers, but she honestly thought it looked like Rebecca's husband.
"Really?" Rebecca inquired; she herself was unsure who the biological father was. She and Alvin were trying to years to have baby, and after she was raped by Carver and declared pregnant a little while later, she was unsure now. She began coughing for a couple of seconds, due to her exhaustion and the amount of blood she lost. "I'm all right...Just need to get warm..."
A couple of feet away from Rebecca were Mike and Bonnie, whom were sleeping close to each, Mike had also woken up and sat up, resting his hand on top of one of his knees. He shifted his attention towards Clementine and Rebecca when hearing Rebecca mention she was cold. "Hey, we found a coat back in the museum. Figured it would be useful. It's right now."
Clementine followed to where he was pointing and picked up the civil war coat that rested only a couple of feet away from her. She placed the coat next to Rebecca, leaving it up to her to decide when she wanted it.
"Sorry...About the color, Rebecca." Mike apologized whilst he got back down on his side and prepared to get back to sleep.
Rebecca already figured out what he meant by this and replied to him in a somewhat harsh tone. "I don't care about the color! What'd make you think I care about that now?" she didn't get a response and shifted her attention back towards Clementine and spoke in a calmer tone. "Clem, would you like to hold him?"
Clementine hesitated for a moment. She had never held a baby before and had no idea what to do, but if she could survive more than two-years into a zombie apocalypse, then surely holding a new-born baby could not be. "Can I, please?"
"Of course you can. We're all family now." Rebecca reminded the young girl before she carefully passed over her little baby into Clementine's arms.
Clementine remained where she was sitting as she rested the baby's head in her arms. She smiled whilst her eyes remained on the beautiful baby in her arms. Her expression changed slightly when the baby began to cry, but she calmly soothed him in a clam voice. "Shh, shh, it's okay. Shh, shh, don't cry."
Rebecca watched as her baby stopped crying almost immediately. She was impressed by Clementine's skills, even despite the fact she was a little girl. "For someone who hasn't held a baby before, you're a natural. Nice job, Clementine."
Nearby, Lee had been watching and listening in on their entire conversation, leaning against the wall with his arms folded together and a slight smile across his face. He walked inside the gift shop and joined the duo. "Well, well, Clementine, you'd make a good big sister."
Lee shifted his attention back towards Rebecca and his expression changed when he noticed Rebecca coughing again, looking extremely unwell. "Rebecca, I can take the baby for a while, if you like. You should rest."
"What about you, Lee? When did you last sleep?" Rebecca inquired whilst trying to get comfortable on where she was positioned.
"Don't worry about me." Lee assured, unable to remember when the last time he had a decent sleep. Probably the last time they were in home which was the cabin. "I'll be fine. And someone has to watch him while you get some rest."
"All right, Lee." Rebecca nodded in agreement as she picked up the civil war coat and unfolded it, using it was a blanket to get some rest of the night.
Lee was about to accept the baby from Clementine but he did a quick check behind him where he could see Jane standing outside, her expression looked like something was wrong. He decided to go and ask. "Clem, do you mind holding the baby for a couple of minutes? Just need to check on someone."
"Sure." she agreed, having no problem with holding this little miracle in her arms. She continued to cradle him slowly, her eyes locked onto him with a smile across her face.
Lee made it towards the exit of the gift shop and had to walk over Sarah, whom was fast asleep and no longer wearing her glasses. He stood outside and turned to his right where he could see Jane looking through the security shutters that blocked off the inside of the building. "Jane?"
"Aw...Fuck..." Jane mumbled, but not quiet enough for Lee to not hear.
"Jane, what are you doing out here?" Lee inquired whilst folding his arms together.
Jane knew there was no avoiding the question and decided to just be honest and come out with the truth. "Look...Lee...I'm sorry, but I'm going to go." she leaned down and opened the security shutters.
Lee was quite surprised that she wanted leave their group after everything they had been through together, especially when she and Luke had spent some alone time together that did get Lee extremely annoyed for the sake of the group. "Go? Where are you doing?"
"Just...I'm just leaving, okay?" she replied, but her face was telling Lee that this was hard for her to do. "I...After today...Jaime...And after today when Sarah almost died...I just don't think I can't bear to watch it happen again."
"It won't happen." Lee assured, but even he could not predict would was going to happen in the future. "If three of us can survive on our own for two-years, then more of us can."
"Lee, you got lucky today, but everyone's luck runs out in the end." Jane explained, shifting her attention away from the older man and proceeding over towards the stairs. However, she halted herself and turned back towards Lee. "Listen, when things begin to tumble, remember to take Carley and Clementine and leave that group. If things get south, never let them drag you with them."
"Our group is strong and always will be. I'm in charge now and I won't let them fall apart." Lee reassured whilst he remained where he was standing for now.
"If that's what you think is best, Lee, then all I can do is wish you good luck." Jane replied, turning around in a one-hundred and eighty degree angle and walked back towards Lee to say her goodbyes. "You take care of yourself, Lee. I really mean that. And here." she pulled out her nail fail and offered it to Lee. "Versatility is not overrated."
Lee accepted her gift, figuring that it could be useful for Clementine to use. He placed it into his back pocket whilst he and Jane finished bidding each other goodbye. "Thanks Jane."
"Yeah..." Jane replied, leaning her arms out as she did something surprising that no-one thought she would ever do. She embraced Lee in a slight hug just for a few seconds, but she did not care. Lee was completely caught off guard by this, but nevertheless, he returned the hug while at lasted. "And take care of Sarah. She was lucky today."
"I will. I'm going to teach her everything I taught Clementine." Lee assured, feeling somewhat like a teacher again. He did not complain though. He loved teaching when he was a teacher, and he sometimes felt as if Clementine was one of his students. But nevertheless, he knew he needed to teach Sarah soon before she got herself into another near-death experience again.
Jane was the one to end the hug and finally decided it was time for her to go. Without saying anything further, she turned around and walked down the wooden stairs and made her way over towards the exit. She was now alone again as usual, but she still decided it was for the best.
Lee watched as the young girl was no longer in his sights. He did not want her to leave and be out there on her own, but it was not his decision to make and all he could do was wish her the best. He leaned over the wooden railing and sighed whilst looking down below.
Before long, Lee shifted his eyeballs to the side when he heard someone approaching. Luke had emerged from the outside and joined Lee inside the building, leaning against the same wooden railing. He sure hoped Lee was still not made at him. "Hey, Lee. I figured ya'll would be asleep. You all right?"
"Yeah. I'm good." Lee assured, not taking his eyes off from the ground.
"All right. Good. It's been one hell of a day, though." Luke admitted, thinking into the future a little when he realized things might not go so smoothly for them if they were not prepared. "You know we need to think ahead. It's getting colder, we're low on food and water, and we're all exhausted. We're going to need to stay for a while before we can move. I was thinking that me and Jane could go searching for supplies in the morning. If that's all right with you."
When hearing Luke mention that name, Lee lowered his head even more and turned away, unable to be certain how he was going to break the news to him.
Luke caught his sudden change of expression that left him puzzled to why he acted different all of a sudden. "What is it? You still mad it me because of earlier..."
"No...It's not that..." Lee assured, taking a deep breath for a moment before he announced the news that Jane was no longer with them. "Luke...Jane's gone...She left..."
"What?" Luke was in complete shock to what he just heard. He leaned back off from the railing, still surprised to the words he just heard shoot through his eardrums. "When?"
"Just a moment ago." Lee answered.
Luke was now angry than shocked to the news he just heard. Why in the world would Jane just leave like this without even telling anyone? "Are you kidding me? Why the hell did she just fucking leave? What the hell!?" he marched over towards the wall and banged his fist against it. "Fuck me!"
Lee changed his expression into a slightly annoyed one when Luke had banged the wall. He too was somewhat upset about Jane leaving, but at least he was handling it calmly. "Hey, shut the fuck up! People are sleeping and there's a baby in there now."
"Sorry...Sorry...I'm sorry..." Luke apologized whilst he placed his hand before the back of his head and rubbed his hair. "Just...A sudden shock to me."
"Like, we all liked Jane, but handle it calmly, will ya?" Lee requested in a somewhat harsh tone whilst he began making his way back to the gift shop.
"Handle it calmly?" Luke repeated, now even more upset than before. He followed Lee into the gift shop and tried to keep his voice down to avoid waking the rest of them up. "Jane and I were close, all right? Lay off me, will ya?"
"Lay off?" Lee could not believe that Luke, after what he did today that put the entire group in jeopardize. "Luke, you and Jane put all of us at fucking jeopardy today just so you both could fool around like a fucking pair of kids! So forgive me if that upsets me a little!"
The duo was now back in the gift store where everyone was still sleeping with the exception of Clementine, Rebecca and the baby. The two girls had shifted their attention over towards them when they saw and heard them arguing about something.
"Well what do you want me to say!?" Luke inquired, but he paused for a moment and tried to keep himself calm. He did not want any more arguments to start and tried to reason with him in a normal tone. "Look, Lee, I am sorry, I truly am. Jane...Made me and offer. With all that was happening...The entire world roaming with the dead...I just...I just wanted to enjoy something else rather than thinking about dying and walkers all day."
Lee was about to clash back, but he somewhat understood where Luke was getting at. He did not want another argument to start. He knelt down to Clementine and accepted the baby from her, laying him down in his arms whilst he stood back up and faced Luke. "Luke, I get it, but this baby is what matters at this point. We have to put others before ourselves, it's what matters now. Okay?"
"Okay, okay, I get it." Luke agreed, raising his hands in the air for a moment.
Their argument had woken Mike back up after he had only just got back to sleep moments ago. He opened his eyes and stood up to investigate the situation. "Hey, is everything all right, guys? I thought I heard arguments?"
Luke was about to answer with the truth, but he decided to keep things quiet now that they had solved their argument out. "Everything's all right, Mike."
Lee knew that everything was not all right, and after remembering what Luke had said moments ago, they needed to take immediate action for the sake of himself, Carley, Clementine, the baby, and everyone else that remained in their group. "Guys, we're going to need to push forward as soon as possible. The baby needs supplies, a placed to be raised, food, water, and safety. We need to continue heading towards North, to Wellington."
There had been no mention of that plan since Carver had arrived at the sky lodge had kidnapped them all. But that was there best plan for now. They obviously had no idea how to get back to the cabin, and this gift shop was not exactly any place you wish to call home. Wellington was their best bet, and they were planning on heading there shortly after leaving the cabin.
"There is a town across the river." Clementine joined in on their conversation, but remained where she was sitting for now. "We could go there."
"Might be supplies there we could find." Lee wondered, kneeling back down towards Rebecca as he handed her baby back for a moment. "All right, Clementine's got a point, everyone. That town could have food, water, and weapons, everything we need. That's our best bet. We should get going when we're ready."
"Well, we might be here a few days." Luke admitted, folding his together across his chest whilst he turned back towards Rebecca, who was slightly coughing again. "Rebecca's not in any condition travel yet anyway. We have got that baby formula we found to feed the baby for a while."
"What about shelter?" Mike added, he too deciding to join in on their conversation. "We'll all freeze out here without shelter."
"Guys..." Rebecca spoke up and coughed for a couple more seconds. "We should leave straight away. Don't worry about me. If there's any chance finding any of those supplies, we need to take it."
Luke still disagreed with what she just said, especially in her condition, but if that was what she wanted then he could not stop her. "All right, Rebecca...If...If that's what you want to do."
"We should all just try and rest for the night." Mike suggested whilst he moved back towards the back of the store where he had been sleeping. "It's been a long day."
"We'll all decide in the morning when the others are awake. We do things as a group." Lee reminded them whilst he found his own sleeping position which was next to Carley. He lay down beside her on his side and rested his head in his arms, closing his eyes as he attempted to get some sleep.
The rest of the group soon decided to get some sleep, too for the morning ahead. Rebecca was able to sleep with her baby in her arms. Hopefully they would be able to begin their journey towards Wellington, fight through the cold, and find somewhere safe, but all they could was see what the future holds for them.
The next day, when the entire group had woken up at first dawn, they made their decision and that was to leave right away. Although Rebecca looked visibly weakened, she assured everyone she would be fine. The group were now making their way through the woods towards the town where they had encountered the area that was snowing and twice as cold as before, but there was no going back now that they came this far.
Lee escorted the group and walked ahead with Carley beside him, Luke was behind him, armed with his Ak-47 and his sleeves were now rolled down. Bonnie was behind him, supporting Rebecca whom was now wearing the civil war coat to keep warm and tried to walk and support her baby in her arms. Clementine and Sarah were close behind them, both trying to keep themselves warm. And last but not least was Mike, whom like Luke, had his sleeves rolled down.
The group remained silent as they continued walking; the only thing they could hear was their footsteps pressing into the snow and the cold wind whistling through the area. Each of them was freezing cold and wished they were in shelter, but they had to keep moving.
Rebecca had suddenly collapsed whilst they were moving and fell down to her knees, still exhausted from giving birth. She was helped back onto her feet by Bonnie. "I'm all right. We need to keep moving."
As they resumed walking, Clementine shifted her attention towards her best friend who walked closely next to her. "How you doing, Sarah?"
"I'm c-c-cold." she answered, but that was already obvious to Clementine. "I-I-I w-wish we were s-still at the c-c-cabin."
"So do I, Sarah, but we will find somewhere soon." Clementine reassured, she herself was struggling to keep warm despite the jacket she wore. She could not imagine how she felt without it.
Luke picked up the pace a little to keep up at the same speed level with Lee. His expression looked both angry and regretful as he began speaking. "We shouldn't have gone yet. We should have stayed for a few days until Rebecca was more rested. We should turn back."
"We can't do that, Luke." Lee declined, refusing to go back after they came this far. "We all decided as a group, and we didn't force Rebecca to leave. It was her choice." he turned back towards the others for a moment and raised his voice. "Just hang in there, everyone. We'll make it to that town before nightfall."
"Lee, I'm not sure how long everyone's going to hang in there for." Luke reminded him. He could barely survive out here, and was unsure how the Rebecca, the kids and the baby were going to be.
Before Lee could reply, the group stopped yet again when Rebecca collapsed a second time, and this time, on her side but she still did not let go of her baby. The baby began crying when his mother had fallen down that had scared him.
"Here, she can sit there for a bit." Mike said, gesturing his arm over towards a tire that looked big enough for Rebecca to rest it.
"Rebecca, we can hold the baby for you if you like." Lee offered, but he only wanted to take the baby just in case Rebecca began to weak that her arms would give out.
Rebecca was assisted by Bonnie over towards the tire and sat down inside, still holding her baby in her arms. "It's all right, I got him."
"Okay, everyone rest up for a few minutes." Lee instructed, willing to give the group a few minutes to rest up for a little while. He wanted to give them more time, but if they were still out here buy nighttime then things would get worse. "Now, everyone-"
"Hello!?"
Lee was cut off by the sudden sound of an unfamiliar voice, and he and the others shifted their attention down the path where they could see someone limping towards them. He called out to them in a language that sounded Russian, but none of them understood what he was saying. However, Clementine recognized that man from yesterday.
"Arvo." Clementine spoke up.
"Arvo?" Lee repeated, shifting his attention towards Clementine with a concerned expression. "You know him?"
"Jane and I met him back at the observation deck when we went to check it out." Clementine explained, but decided to leave out the part of Jane trying to rob him.
"He's not dangerous, is he?" Lee inquired, always assuming the worse when you meet strangers, especially nowadays.
"He doesn't look dangerous." Carley admitted whilst she watched Arvo continue making his way towards them. "He doesn't have a gun, and I don't think he can run."
"He claimed to have a sick sister when we met him." Clementine added, but she was not sure if that was true or not. She only chose not to steal from him because it was not right.
"I don't like this." Lee replied, folding his arms as he watched Arvo continue limping towards them. He turned back towards the others and got them prepared in case things got bad. He kept a Glock 17 in his hand just in case. "Have your guns ready just in case."
Eventfully, Arvo had made his way over to the group and stopped only a couple of feet away from Lee, Carley and Clementine. He recognized the little girl stand before him and greeted her. "Hello Clementine. That was your name, yes?"
"Hi, Arvo." Clementine greeted, unsure if he was angry towards her from the incident that happened before, but she was the one who chose not to steal, and he seemed very grateful for that.
"These are all of your people, yes?" Arvo inquired.
Lee was the one to answer his question rather than let his adoptive daughter do the talking for them. "I'm Lee. What do you want?"
"I met Clementine before, and I was hoping you could all help me." Arvo requested, but he did not exactly explain what he wanted from them.
"How's your sister doing?" Clementine asked, unsure on what else she can ask him.
"My sister? She's not doing so well." Arvo answered as he shifted his attention back towards the adults and began to state the things he needed. "I need uh...Bandages...Yes...Bandages...Um"
"Are you hurt?" Bonnie inquired.
"No." Arvo answered as his lowered his head down for some unknown reason.
"Nikto ne dvigat'sya! (="Nobody move!")"
The group were startled to the sudden sound of someone yelling and gathered around in a circle when three more people appeared.
The first one was a man with no hair, with tattoos across his face, wearing a green coat, dark green pants and looked around in his middle thirties. He emerged from the woods, armed with an AK-47 that he aimed towards the group.
The second one was man with brown hair, wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans and looked around in his early thirties. He emerged from behind the group, armed with an FN SLP shotgun that he also aimed towards the group.
The last one was a woman with dirty blond hair, wearing a brown jacket, a white shirt underneath and blue jeans, and look around in her middle thirties. She walked beside Arvo, armed with a Beretta 92FS Inox pistol that she too aimed towards the group.
"Oh shit!" Lee mumbled, secretly glad that he got the group prepared with their weapons.
"Fuck me!" Luke groaned; now even more wishing that they stayed behind for a few days.
The woman turned towards Arvo and spoke to him in their native language. "Razve chto devushka? (="Is that the girl?")"
"Da. (="Yes.")" Arvo answered, causing the other two members of their team to chuckle.
The man with the AK-47 began to speak up towards Arvo whist he still held them at gun point. "Ne mogu poverit', malen'kaya devochka pochti ograbili vas .Ladno, davayte pokonchim s etim .Skazhite im, chto my sobirayemsya vzyat' svoi veshchi, i yesli oni ne pytayutsya chto-libo, to eto budet legko dlya nikh. (="Can't believe a little girl almost robbed you. All right, let's get this over with. Tell them that we are going to take their things, and if they don't try anything, this will be easy for them.")"
"What did he just say?" Clementine inquired, unable to be certain on what they were planning.
"I told them you were the ones who tried to rob me. They think it's funny because you're just a little girl." Arvo answered before he began to explain their intentions. "They want you to put down your weapons, don't try and thing stupid so we can take your things."
""Robbed?"" Lee repeated, in complete shock to what this man had just accused them of. He turned back towards Clementine for the truth, despite the situation they were in. "You robbed him?"
"Now wait just a minute." Luke told him.
"Nobody do anything stupid." Mike said to the other members of Arvo's group, but it was unsure if they understood him or not.
"No, I didn't rob you, Arvo." Clementine reminded him, somewhat angry that he would do this to her after she let him go when most people would have just killed him and took his things. "It wasn't my idea to try and steal from you. I gave them you back. It was Jane's idea, not mine! The rest of us had nothing to do with it!"
""Jane?"" Arvo repeated that name, ignoring what Clementine had just said to him. He observed their group and the area around them, noticing that the woman whom attacked him was nowhere to be found. "Where is she? Where is Jane?"
"Chto proiskhodit? (="What's going on?")" The man with the AK-47 asked him.
"Zhenshchina, kotoraya napala na menya zdes' net. (="The woman who attacked me isn't here.)". Arvo explained before he shifted his attention back towards Clementine.
"Chto? (="What?") the man with the Ak-47 asked, his expression somewhat changing.
"Gde ona?" (="Where is she?") the woman standing next to Arvo asked him.
"I don't see her anywhere. Where is she?" Arvo asked Clementine, his expression now angrier than before now that he just discovered the woman who he wanted to take revenge on was no longer among them.
"She's gone, Arvo, she's not here anymore." Clementine assured him, but her words did not seem to take any effect.
"It's a trap! They're trying to trick us! Eto lovushka! Oni pytayutsya obmanut' nas! (="It's a trap! They're trying to trick us!")" Arvo was beginning to panic and took a couple of steps back whilst warning his group on what he assumed.
"Take it easy!" Lee ordered, but unfortunately, he already knew what was going to happen if they did not act first. He did something extremely risky, but he was left with no other choice. "Guys, guns!"
Everyone in their group whom was armed immediately took action. Lee and Luke aimed their Glock 17 and AK-47 towards Arvo and the other woman, Mike and Bonnie aimed towards the man with their Glock 17 and Beretta 92FS Inox, and Carley aimed her Glock 17 towards the man with the FN SLP shotgun. Clementine had her own Glock 17, but she did not aim it towards anyone. Instead, she stood in the center of their group besides Sarah, who was beginning to panic but she remained silent for now. Both groups were now in a standoff, aiming their weapons towards one and another.
"This can be easy for all of you if you just do what we say." Arvo reassured, but it did not look like his words go through to any of the members from the other group. "Just put your weapons down."
"No, you put your weapons down!" Lee shouted towards him whilst he closed one eye where his Glock 17 had a clear shot on Arvo's head.
The man with the Ak-47 continued speaking towards Arvo in their native language. "Arvo, skazat' im, chtoby slozhili oruzhiye ili my otkroyem ogon'. (="Arvo, tell them to put their weapons down or we will open fire.")"
"Please, we have a baby!" Clementine pleaded with them, hoping that would be enough to change their minds and diffuse the situation.
Arvo was taken by surprised when he heard the news of them having a baby. He shifted his attention towards Rebecca, whom did not look so good, but he mainly had his attention on her crying baby. "You have a baby in your group?" he called back out to his group about this sudden news. "U nikh yest' rebenok! (="They have a baby!")"
No-one in his group seemed to pay attention to him and kept their focus towards their enemies. The situation was now getting tense as members of both groups yelled threats and orders to each other.
"We got you outnumbered and outgunned! Put it down!"
"Don't even try it, motherfucker, I'm an excellent shot, I've never missed once my entire life, and I don't intend to start now!"
"Tak vot kak eto budet ,ne tak li? Eto prekrasno! Eto tak khorosho, v den', chtoby umeret', kak lyuboy drugoy! Vy menya ne ispugayesh' , vy zhalkiye padal'shchiki ! Prosto privesti yego na! Soobshchite ob etom! Prinesite yego na! (="So this is how it's going to be, is it? That's fine! This is as good a day to die as any other! You don't scare me, you pathetic scavengers! Just bring it on! Bring it on! Bring it on!")"
"Nobody get excited!"
"I swear to Christ I will shoot you where you stand!"
"Vy v svoyem ume? Chto, chert voz'mi vy dumayete, chto vy delayete? Ey! Vy! Ne napravlyayte etu shtuku na menya! Polozhi! YA skazal polozhil yeye! (="Are you out of your mind? What the hell do you think you're doing? Hey! You! Don't point that thing at me! Put it down! I said put it down!")"
"Put the gun down, you bastards!"
"My mozhem vzyat' ikh! YA mogu ubit' lyubogo iz nikh golymi rukami; my dazhe ne nuzhno oruzhiye! Eto verno, kto nuzhdayetsya v ispol'zovanii pul' dlya takikh, vsekh vas? YA ub'yu vas vsekh i s"yest' vashi vnutrennosti na zavtrak! (="We can take them! I can kill any of them with my bare hands; we don't even need the weapons! That's right, who needs to use bullets for the likes of all of you? I'll kill you all and eat your insides for breakfast!")
"You know you can't win us, so dropped the guns before I put a bullet right in between your brains! I never miss!"
Whilst the group continued arguing, demanding one another to drop their weapons, Sarah was too busy looking at something that left her so shocked that she did not even care about the conflict between the groups right now. "Clem...Clementine...?"
Clementine slowly shifted her attention around when she heard Sarah calling her, and what she saw next left her horrified. She watched as Rebecca leaned up from where she was sitting but her hands no longer holding her baby, her skin was now even more paler, and she attempted to reach it towards Clementine. As much as Clementine did not want to admit it, Rebecca was now a walker. She must have died from either the blood loss, exhaustion, hypothermia, or all three. She could eat her own baby right now if you did not act. "HELP! REBECCA!"
Her screams for help attracted Lee, whom had just witnessed Rebecca, now as a walker. In an act of panic, he aimed his Glock 17 towards her. He had a second's hesitation, but in the end, he grabbed Clementine back and squeezed the trigger, shooting Rebecca directly in her forehead.
The sound of a gun being fired had startled the rest of their group, causing them to panic so much that they took action.
"Strelyay! (="Shoot!")"
"NO!"
The groups halted their arguments and gunfire filled the air, both groups shooting towards one and other. The last thing Lee had done to protect Clementine was push her towards the ground to save seconds before the gunfire had begun, but he was not able to move himself out of harm's way in time.
That cliffhanger! Seriously, why would Telltale end it like that? Oh, well, what can you do? This chapter would have been out a little earlier, but I had a little trouble with translating the Russian language. Anyway, folks, this is the last chapter for now until No Going Back has been released which I think will be out in September, but I could be wrong. I will see you all then. For now, ciao my fellow readers.
