Sorry this is late again. Last week was busy with taking my sister to the One Direction concert for her birthday and as usual work. Thank you for your patience! Enjoy.
"Was it everything you hoped it would be?" Damon asked as we sat side by side on the plane waiting for it to take off.
"It was everything and more. But at the same time I missed everyone so much." I told him and he nodded in agreement. It was hard to go away anywhere without Mady. She was our everything and I know I missed her like crazy, I could only imagine how much Damon missed her. The two of them had such a special bond. Damon and Mady were so much like my father and I were before I grew up. We're getting better but I hope to never see Damon and Mady grow apart like I did with my father. I know in some ways it's inevitable, eventually she'll start dating and Damon won't like that. He won't be her only man anymore but we still had a lot of time. She was only two, so we still had time.
"I miss our girl." Damon agreed and I leaned over and kissed him.
"Klaus and Cami are picking us up from the airport and hopefully by the time we get home, my parents have brought Mady home. I want to see her." I told him and he nodded. That was the plans we had arranged for, hopefully it went according to plan. When the captain finally came over the intercom we sat back and fastened our seatbelts. We were one step closer to finally being home. I would miss Paradise but I missed Mady more right now.

Once we landed and were through security Klaus and Cami were standing in the lobby waiting for us. We wasn't looking for us, he was too busy with his arms around Cami to be paying any attention. She was laughing at something he said and I smiled. I loved seeing him so happy with someone, I wasn't sure I ever could considering how much he loved Caroline. But now all my best friends had the person they were meant to be with.
"Hey." Damon shouted and Klaus turned around and grinned. He walked over and gave Damon and hug, then me.
"How was the honeymoon? All bow chicka bow wow?" He asked and Damon and I laughed.
"Let's just say if I didn't knock her up then it's never going to happen." He said and Klaus laughed.
"Welcome back." Cami said hugging me and picking up my bag.
"We brought gifts, but you have to wait until everyone is together." I told her and she laughed.
"I love gifts but you didn't have to." She told me and I shrugged.
"Maybe not, but we wanted to. You should see everything we bought for Mady." I responded and she grinned.
"I've missed the little munchkin." She told me and I linked my arm with hers as we started walking out to the car. I was ready to be home, sleeping in my own bed, sitting on my own couch. I was so ready to be home.
Just as I hoped, my parents' car was parked on the street when we got home, so was Damon's parents which I was surprised about.
"Caroline and Stefan are here too. They're trying to learn the transit system so they don't have a vehicle here." Klaus told us and I nodded. I knew everyone was anxious to see us again and in my parents' case, to get rid of Mady. She could drive a person crazy after an extended amount of time.
"The new Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore have arrived." Klaus called out when we walked into the house.
"Unkie Klaus!" Mady called as she ran out of the living room. She stopped in her tracks when she saw Damon and me though. Instead of running to her Uncle Klaus she ran directly to her dad and he bent down to scoop her up.
"I love daddy." She said as she burrowed her head into his chest.
"I love my Mady." He told her and I almost melted. When she was done with Damon momentarily, he passed her over to me and I held her.
"I love mommy." She said hugging me tight.
"I love my Mady." I whispered and kissed her forehead. I missed her so much. I hadn't known just how much I missed her until I saw her. She smelled like home and I hugged her tight.
"I see daddy again?" She asked and I kissed her once more before handing her back over to her dad.
"So did you bring me a gift?" Caroline asked and I laughed.
"You know I did." I told her as I followed her into the living room.
"Good. You abandoned me." She told me but she had a smile on her face so I knew the criticism was entirely weightless. I was so happy that she was moved to Richmond now. I had thought she would have spent the summer in New York for sure.
Once everyone was sitting in the living room I grabbed the extra bag I had bought in Hawaii for all of our purchases. I pulled out the hammocks for my parents and Damon's parents first.
"These are handmade and I thought they'd look nice in both of your backyards." I told her and they both thanked me and opened them up so they could see. My parents was bright and colourful. It would match their backyard with all the flowers really well. Elizabeth and Giuseppe's was a light green that matched their patio furniture cushions.
"Thank you sweetheart, it'll fit so nicely between the two oak trees." My mom said folding it back up delicately.
"Yes, thank you kids. It's beautiful." Elizabeth said much more formally. My dad and Giuseppe smiled at me appreciatively. I knew my dad would use it more than my mom would, she would just want it to look pretty. I could see Giuseppe using it too. Mady was sitting expectantly on Damon's lap but she was sitting so patiently that I knew I could get away with giving all the other gifts out first. I gave Cami and Caroline their jewelry sets first. Caroline's was more pretty and delicate while Cami's was very bohemian. They both thanked us and I gave Klaus and Stefan their gifts and put both Bonnie and Jeremy's aside so I could ship it to them.
"Alright Miss Mady, do you want your gifts?" Damon asked her and she squealed and hopped off of his lap.
"Present!" She squealed and I gave her the necklace with all the pink beads. She squealed again and demanded that I take her other necklace off so she could wear that one. I knew it was going to be impossible to get her out of it now.
"Very pretty." I said.
"I pretty." Mady declared and we all laughed.
"Do you like this?" Damon asked pulling the hula girl outfit out of the bag. Her eyes lit up like they did whenever they saw new clothes and Mady being Mady started stripping out of her clothes so we could help her put the new ones on her. Once she had the coconut bra and grass skirt on she went out of her way to shake watching the skirt rustle around her. We had ended up buying her a purse and a few more dresses too but she wasn't interested. We were never going to get her out of her hula girl outfit.
"So how was Hawaii?" My mom asked eagerly.
"It was amazing. But next time we go, we're taking Mady." I told her.
"You're going to be okay with going to Hawaii with two kids?" My dad asked and I nodded.
"We'll be fine. We missed Mady so much while we were gone. I don't think I could leave her for that long again." I told my dad and he nodded with a smile on his face.
"So am I going to have a new niece or nephew soon?" Caroline asked.
"We tried, I guess we'll find out soon enough." I told her.
"Don't stop trying, make sure it happens. I want another baby to dote on and you're the only one at that point in your life where you're ready to have one." She told me and I laughed.
"Right because being almost nineteen is the perfect time to have two children." I laughed.
"Well you already have one, what's the wait on another one?" She sniffled.
"There is no wait. We're trying rather intently." I told her and my dad grimaced.
"I don't want to hear it. In my mind, regardless of the fact that you have a baby girl and married, you're still my virgin teenage daughter." He told me and I laughed.
"Okay." I said.
"So what do you think? Should we order Chinese, or pizza for dinner?" Klaus asked.
"Chinese, I think." I answered.
"We should probably get going. I have to work in the morning." My dad said as he and my mom stood up.
"Alright, I'll talk to you soon." I said to them and they both hugged me quickly.
"I will be waiting for a pregnancy announcement soon." My mom said and I promised her she would be one of the first to know about it.
"We should probably head out too. We'll see you next time you bring Mady to Mystic Falls." He told me and I hugged him quickly. I wasn't at that point where I felt I could hug Elizabeth yet. The wedding was a little different, that was a happy occasion. When they were all gone I collapsed on the couch between Damon and Caroline. Cami and Klaus were sharing the love seat and Stefan had claimed the chair. Mady was still twirling around the living room in her new grass skirt.
"Are you happy to be home?" Damon asked me and I nodded against his chest.
"Very. You know it's finally time for us to be married. We're finally married." I said to him.
"We've been married for well over a week now." He laughed.
"Yeah but now the honeymoon is over so it's time for us to be a regular married couple." I told him.
"We've been doing that since we moved to Richmond." He reminded me and I laughed.
"But now I have your last name to do it in. I'm going to have to change all my information at school. I'm not Elena Gilbert anymore. My name is Elena Salvatore." I murmured.
"Yes it is. And that's never going to change." He told me and I smiled against his side.
"Is this how it's going to be around here from now on?" Klaus asked with a mock disgusted expression on his face.
"Absolutely. You better get used to it." Damon told him.
"Well I guess I'll just have to give it right back to you." He said pulling Cami into his side.
"You do that. I won't mind. You'll never be better at it than us." Damon said and I laughed.
"We'll see about that." Klaus laughed.
