Sorry I have not responded to your reviews. I will soon. I'm just having technology difficulties, and am using another person's computer to post this chapter. So I apologies in advance. :( Thank you to those who keep on supporting this story! I love you guys! *hugs* TY! Onward to chapter 21. ^^

Chapter 21: Candy Words.

The light surrounded my body. I no longer felt cold. I felt like I was being in-braised by the warmth. I thought the figure in front of me was my mother, but it was not her. The figure reaching for my hand merely touched my finger tips, but it could not grab my hand, because I was slowly coming back to my body. All my memories flashed before my eyes again, like it did when I entered this nothingness... And the joy I felt was gone. Coming back to the cold world; leaving nothingness behind...

Sayu awoke,
Feeling the breeze brush her hair onto her face. Looking up; seeing a bit hazy, she noticed a figure standing before her, but this figure was not her mother; or that comforting person she felt. If anything she felt dread, and a bit of disgust. She began to vomit beside her. Struggling to try and get up from the ground. Noticing her surroundings we're in a deserted place. Full of trees and bushes. Secluded again. Hearing whispers and laughter; she turned her gaze away from the ground, and back to her kidnapper. He looked familiar; that was for sure. It was the man who scanned and charged her drink she had bought at the store. Being able to see clearer, she felt automatic fear. Trying to crawl away. The man quickly grabbed onto her screaming out nonsense. Apparently in front of him. At nothing.

"Let me go!" Screamed Sayu, but she was quickly drowned out by the guy's hand against her mouth.

"Shut up girl! Can't you see you have no right to speak here!" Yelled the guy back in irritation.

He kept talking to someone Sayu could not even see.

"So you want me to let her see you?! Are you sure?!" Asked the man; towards no one; again.

Sayu looked at the man, then looking around to see if she saw anyone. There was nothing thought. No one to be seen nearby. The man quickly took out from his apron what looked like to be a notebook. It was black with the white words on it that said "Death Note". The man quickly grabbed Sayu's hand to touch it, then apparently being ordered to give it to her. Taking it; feeling confused; she flipped through it's pages. Pages filled in with various names of individuals she did not know. Looking back at the man; he was quickly under an attack. A heart attack. Sayu gasping in fear quickly got up with all her might and forced, but was quickly knocked back onto the floor; as she let out a scream from what was before her. A monster...

Sayu trying to find new strength in her legs found nothing.
Her body wanted to react, but it could not. She found herself gripping onto the notebook in fear at what was in front of her. It was clearly a monster. The monster looked like he was starving, blood like paint trailing from his eyes down to his chin like tears flowing. His eyes a piercing blood red color, and his skin; colors of ashes with a huge scar shaped cross in the center of his body. Long arms hanging down.

"Don't be afraid of me Sayu... I know I look terribly different, but I'm still the same..." Confirmed the monster as thought as if Sayu could recognize the creature.

"Who are you...?" Whispered a frightened Sayu. Not daring to run off. In fear of her very life.

"Never mind that. Please hold onto that notebook. It is associated with what saved your life. I have my own, and that one is for you. Don't lose it, or hand it to no one. Hide it at all cost, and kill those who try to harm you and your daughter." Said the tall like creature, floating above her.

Sayu looked at the notebook, then looking at the creature with a fixed expression.

"You murder people with this thing...? I'm not murdering no one...!" Dared Sayu; speaking up. Finding her strength back to look at the creature face to face. Feeling dread, but not moving any further.

"I saved you. I made this criminal come here with you in hand to give you a notebook. I promised him false power. He died because he deserved to die. He was a menace to society. He robbed, and killed people. As he did with you, and I relieve you with this eraser." The creature spoke; holding an eraser in his clawed fingers.

Sayu looked in fear. Checking her chest to see if she felt a pulse of her heart. It was beating normally. She was alive, and yet it was all because she was saved by this thing.

"What are you? Who are you?" Sayu dared to ask.

"I am a Shinigami, and you needn't concern your self with who I am... I'm here to protect you, to love you as I done before. You just need to believe in me. I'll keep you from harms way. And nothing will ever hurt you. I promise that." Supposedly promised the creature.

"How do I know your not sugar coating your words like with this man...?" Questioned Sayu Yagami.

The creature looked at the young woman. Examining her new self. The change that she has truly made to herself. How time sure corrodes us all.
