Okay, this one updated so late and even I noticed that…

I've been trying to umm…what's the word, 'divide', I guess… yes, divide my time as efficiently as possible. In my country, a student in my year needs to face a really big and important exam at the end of the school year and we have to study even on Saturday about the subjects of the exam.

And that is the reason why I can't update frequently –aside from the fact that my internet broke down-

So, enjoy this next chapter and I hope I can get the next one out as immediately as possible. Or as time permits me…

20th Poke: Commotion in Saffron: Escapade

There's a pregnant pause in the room. Red was clutching the master ball in his hand, looking back and forth between Mew and Blaine. Seeing the hesitation in the boy's movement, Blaine broke the silence, "…Kid, we're counting on you…" he walked to Yellow. Kneeling beside the girl, he patted Yellow's bobbing head. Yellow gave Red a shaky nod before she looked down, holding desperately at Blaine's arms. I blinked when Red stared at me with his quizzical eyes. He had to do this, at least I finally finished Mew's mission to make Red his partner.

"I…" he mumbled, looking like he's about to cry, "…I don't know if I can do this…" he chewed his lips. Blaine sighed, "Look…if I have a choice, kid…I will catch Mew by myself" he uttered. True…Blaine didn't catch Mew up until now and he gave the golden opportunity to Red, someone he just met. "All I know, you're a worthy partner and friend for Mew…" he continued. Red shook his head violently, "I...you…I've just met you! We battled once and you suddenly said I'm a worthy partner for Mew?"

A thin smile crept to Blaine's mouth as he propped Yellow to stand up, "Only a fully trusted pokemon will fight like that Pikachu of yours fight. The eevee, too, made moves I'd never seen from a pokemon like her before" he looked straight to Red. Yellow giggled at the mention of me. Of course…she knows all about me being a human. Since she stayed silent, I guess that means I have to stay silent and let the guy gives more credit to Red. That boy needs some boost of confidence.

His eyes trailed toward mine once again, as if expecting me to actually answer him in a human language of what should he do now. Just DO it…you're here for that…I felt jealously crept onto the back of my head again, tempting me to snap right there and then. It surprises me that I can push it back as nonchalant as I could and gave him an encouraging nod. You have to do it, Red…it's how it meant to be, I told him. What he heard was probably nonsensical chatters of 'pika' or 'chu', but he caught my mental message.

With newfound courage, he stared at Mew, who replied with empty stares. Mew just froze there, waiting as the master ball caught his form. Lights enveloped the feline before the purple pokeball did it job and fell to the ground, shaking lightly before it clicked signaling that the capture had been successful. Both Blaine and Yellow shared a relieved sigh, even the blonde girl clapped a bit. Red picked the master ball from the floor, a mixture of joy and worried flickered on his face. I hurried over to his side and watched as he stared at the purple ball rested on his palm.

"Thank you…" Yellow finally spoke, gently prying herself out from Blaine's concern support. She looked at the Master ball before she flicked her sight to Red, "Red, I trusted you with Mew…please…don't let Giovanni take him" she pleaded. I climbed to perch on my usual spot and he gave me a look when I came back. "Before I forgot, kiddo…" Blaine suddenly cut in, shoving his hand inside the lab coat's pocket, "I want you to have this…" he pulled out a red badge. "The volcano badge?" I blinked in disbelief as Blaine shoved it to Red.

"I'm a gym leader from Cinnabar island…it is my duty to give this badge to trainer who had beaten me" the man replied calmly. Red stared at the badge in disbelief, "But…I didn't defeat you" he said, shoving the badge back to Blaine. With a quirk smirk, Blaine pushed it back, "You've proven your worth for that badge and that's enough for me," he turned away, "you deserve it" he walked past the door, hollering Yellow to come as well. Yellow glanced over to Red, "Red, I'm entrusting you with Mew," she smiled weakly, "please, keep him safe for me and for everyone's sake" stumbling a bit, she followed Blaine out from the room.

I stayed silent for the whole ordeal, watching Red's face darkened. His palm clenched both the badge and the master ball. Lady settled herself on the floor, brushing her tail busily, ignoring everything now that she knows nothing going to jump at us. "Why?" Red's voice abruptly broke the silence. He looked troubled and confused. If I am in his shoes right now, I will be as equally confused. Since I am not, I could only offer him encouragement, not answer to his question. Touching his cheek, I smiled and nodded when he looked toward me. I understand…I hope he can catch what I want to tell him.

"Green…" he finally spoke, clenching firmer to the purple ball. I tilted my head, inquiring him to continue soundlessly. He looked over, hesitating on continuing, "…d…do you understand what I said all this time?" he asked. I nearly nodded but realized that he has yet to know about me. Mew is supposed to reveal to him that I am Green. Heck, I finished the mission! Shouldn't he be like, transforming me back?

Red shook his head, "No…no…" he chewed his bottom lips, evidently perturbed. He stared straight at my eyes, "…just who are you, Green?"

I shouldn't answer this…really, I shouldn't. Even if he doesn't understand pokemon language, soon he'll be able to put the pieces together and knows it. Dang it, Mew…I can't just tell him with my form like this! I groaned inwardly. Glancing nervously, I saw Lady acted as if she doesn't care from the corner of my eyes. She merely glanced, Okay, mouse, I am not involved in this…she whispered, licking her tail once more.

So I pointed to the master ball and looked at him. If you want answer…Mew has it for you…I said. Of course all he heard was "Pikapipipi", but at least, body language works better than words alone. He called for Mew from the master ball. As Mew appeared, I thought of everything that had happened until this second. Is this it…had I really had finished all that Mew has asked me to do? Just this? Mew reunited with his partner Red, so the world will be safe, right? What will become of Team Rocket, now that they don't have Mew? Will they come after Red again? Or will they give up?

But do I want to come back to my human form and left Red, knowing that Red will probably be hunted by team Rockets just because Mew chose him? Do I want to…?

I'm surprised that my mind automatically replies me with a 'No'

"The prisoner has escaped, I repeat, the prisoner has escaped" he shouted at the communicator as if his life depends on it. Well, it did this time! He let one single prisoner escaped on his watch, right under his nose. How can he be so careless? He scurried across the hallway, making sure the search party is dispatched to quickly chase the prisoner. "I never thought that Silver would do something like that…" he cursed.

"Proton, daddy's calling you…" the red head boy had said. At first Proton doesn't believe it. Weren't Silver with Petrel? He wasn't supposed to be running around inside the headquarter. Silver glanced toward his prisoner, "Who is that?" he asked in a whisper. Proton kindly explained that she is an intruder and has to be punished for sneaking around inside their home turf. Silver had looked thoughtful for a moment before he repeated that his father had called the green-haired man.

"Well, I can't possibly leave my post of course, sir Giovanni should know that…" he mumbled. Silver shrugged, "I don't know…he just told me to call you" before the boy averted his eyes toward his prisoner again. Is the prisoner really that interesting? Proton had thought. "Wouldn't your dad asked Petrel or Arianna to call me instead of you?" he asked, giving the boy a pat in the head. He couldn't help it. He'd been taking care of the boy since Silver was. And he did it along with the other three commanders. Patting the child's head proved to be both fun…Silver pushed his gloved hands away from his red locks and puffed his cheeks. And amusing…he added.

"Anyway, uncle Petrel and Aunt Arianna are busy, so he told me to call you" he said once more. To be honest, he was convinced at that point. "Okay, fine, can I ask you to find a member to watch over this prisoner for me?" he gave up, standing from his comfy couch. Silver nodded…rather fervently, but he passed it off as excitement to finally do something instead of being babysit around by Petrel.

After he left, the alarm broke and all of a sudden, the prisoner, no, his prisoner had left the detaining room along with Silver.

"Shit…I should've known better than to leave Silver" he pushed the communicator once more, receiving the information from the search party. Among the panicked voices of the search party, one voice caught his ears. He tuned to that voice channel for better hearing and almost gasped.

Catch Mew and Yellow as soon as possible

The alarm rung loudly as soon as Mew appeared before us. It startled everyone and Red instinctively called Lady and Mew back to the pokeball and told me to hang tight. "We have to find Blue!" he said as calmly as his nervous mode could. Blue? I almost hissed. Why would Blue be inside…ah. She must've dragged Red here after she spotted me in town. They must've been separated inside the building. A heavily concerned look appeared on Red's face. What now? "I…I don't know where Blue is…" he mumbled under his breath.

I nearly did a face-palm on him, but I held on and stared at him meaningfully. Blue is nastier than any grunts in the town before, she would hold on her own I muttered. Of course Red won't understand. With a sigh, I leaped down from his shoulder, looking up at him and started to walk out from the lab. We need to at least get Red out of here. Giovanni wants both Mew and Yellow, Mew had told me so. He won't be able to achieve his goal without both. I'm not that worried about Yellow as Blaine is capable enough to take care of her.

Though, I am concerned about Blue too, she will have to hold on for a while. After that, I can come back for her.

I think, I'm starting to come up with a plan like a crazy hero-oriented guy. I swear, Mew…once this is all over with, I'll get you… hearing Red's footstep behind me, I halted my train of thought …okay, I won't… I muttered as my feet took me further.

Vaulting over the next broken machine, Blue dashed off, keeping distance from her pursuers. Her Squirtle bounced over the obstacle and ran beside her, surprisingly able to keep up with her insane speed. Though timid, her Squirtle excel in speed. To her left and slightly behind, a certain red-head is also, shockingly capable on matching her agility. Must've been trained for this she thought. "Take left!" he suddenly shouted. Blue snapped back to reality and turned left sharply to see a warp panel. She gave Silver an 'are-you-really-sure-about-this' look.

Silver nodded and without a second to spare, Blue leaped into the panel, followed by Squirtle. The girl was gone in a blink of an eye as Silver stopped, turning toward the wall to his left. He pushed the wall beside him, earning a beep sound from it. The wall parted open, revealing a transparent monitor. He jabbed a few buttons and took out a silver keycard. Flashing it to the monitor, he heard the most satisfying beep he could ever heard as the warp panel darkened, shutting itself off.

And he turned to leave, as calm as ever without sparing a glance to the chasing party.

Red was hesitant on following me to get out from the mess inside the Silph. Co. Certainly, he wouldn't want to leave Blue inside the Rockets crawling building. "I know, I should take Mew as far away from Giovanni as possible, but…" he mumbled, "…Blue…" he gazed back. I sighed when once again he was lost in his own thought and stopped following me. Mew…for arceus sake, maybe you should change me back to human form just to drag Red out from here…with force. I tugged his legs, trying to convince him that leaving Blue won't hurt her.

"RED!"

Definitely won't hurt…I thought sarcastically. The familiar girl literally leaped toward Red, hugging him a little too tight that I probably heard a broken bone or two. Squirtle was gripping at his trainer's bag, pale as a sheet and also in the verge of tears from either scared to death or relieved to escape from whatever monster that had chased them here. "Oh, arceus, I'm glad you're safe, Red…" Blue kept on saying, tousling Red's hair. His cap tumbled down on the floor, laid forgotten for a while. Red muffled some words that I couldn't make out –not that it bothers me- before finally, with reddened face broke Blue's hug and panted.

"Whoops!" Blue stuck out her tongue, playfully fisted her head softly. They still have time to do this don't they? I groaned. Squirtle stared at me, Umm…Blue is happy to see her friend safe…I…uh, I'm sorry that I think that Blue just did that in joy, he said. Yep, and while they're at it, any of those grunts could come and catch us again…

Squirtle was startled that he jerked back, burying his face on Blue's bag, I….I'M SO SORRY! He cried pathetically. Yep…Blue got one heck of a Squirtle…Anyway, since Blue is here…shouldn't we like, uh, get out from here ASAP? I picked Red's cap and walked toward him, offering him the cap. Blue snickered when she saw me and I snorted in return.

Without words, Red accepted the cap, allowing me to climb back to his shoulder. "Let's go…" he muttered to Blue. With a wide smile, Blue replied, "Aye, sir!" completed with a salute. At least, we won't meet with-

"Ah…why the rush, child?"

Red stopped abruptly, shakily gave me a look. I could see Blue gasped while her Squirtle climbed frantically to her shoulder and clung desperately at her. Don't look back… my mind whispered hastily, …run away, tell Red to run as fast as he can. I thought of screaming, "Screw you, brain!" and looked back, but whoever that talked, is not someone I should face. Yet.

I nudged Red neck, pressing him to move. But he won't move…it's as if his legs were rooted into the ground. Blue scooted closer to Red, grabbed his hand and trembled. This is bad, even Blue is terrified. We have to get away. I heard footstep. He's getting nearer. I need to snap Red back to sense!

WAKE UP, RED!

All of a sudden, Red jerked up, he looked around in panic. Blue looked at him, still trembling, "R…Red, wha…what should we do, now?" she shut her eyes. Red shook his head, "I…uh, he, uh we-"

RUN! DON'T LOOK BACK, JUST…RUN!

As if something inside him has whipped him to sense, Red grabbed Blue and dashed out. It seems whoever that talked knows it's no use to try and chase us alone. But I'm sure, he would…one day, chase us even to the end of the world. Red ran as fast as his feet could take with Blue stumbling behind him.

Red… My paws gripped tighter to the sleeve on his shoulder blade. He was focused onto escaping and keeping Blue with his pace. I averted my eyes toward Blue who's trying to match Red's steps and keep failing as she almost tripped again and again. Then I came back to my own thought.

How could you understand me?

That is all

That's insane, Mewtwo! I know you! You wouldn't cook up something as absurd as this!

As much as I hate him, he's right, Mewtwo. You can't expect us to do that

I know…I don't trust 'him' too-

Then, why? Why do you entrust 'him' with-

Shut up, Moltres, Mewtwo hasn't finished speaking…

Well, spit it, then!

*Sigh, Alright…I never told you to trust 'him' in the first place didn't I? And, no, Zapdos, I didn't say it implicitly either…

Hey! Don't read my mind! Let me speak!

Quiet, you!

Grrr…

I didn't trust 'him', you all, too, didn't need to trust 'him'. We merely need 'him' for our plan to stop that human. And we have to test 'him'. You all should test 'him'.

Why the test? Didn't you already entrust 'him' with the 'precious'?

The test is required to see whether 'he's worthy or not for this task. Should 'he' prove to be useless…

Kill him?

No, just rip 'him' from existence. Forget that a hope ever exist in the human world. 'He' had no other purpose than to do our biddings.

That sounds cruel…

It is not…Beside, humans exist for us. Those who try to oppose us shall face destruction.

Mewtwo…

You all are dismissed, proceed with the plan and be on your guard.

Yes, sir…

The sound of clock's ticking is starting to chip away my anxiety. Red's been quite for a while, fiddling with the master ball on the bed, sighing every time he poked the purple ball to let it roll a bit to left and right. The bedside table was occupied by Lady, who was busy in her own world –that means, grooming herself- and Red's cap. On the floor, beside Red, Vyi was trying his best not to fall asleep. I caught Red's stealing glance toward me and he quickly snapped his sight back to the master ball in front of him.

I wiped my slightly dusty pendant, blowing it from invisible dusts. It has been hours since we escaped from . To make sure that the Rockets won't find us, we asked Blue's Fearrow to carry both Red and Blue to Lavender. We rushed to the PC and asked for room. Blue had checked in to the room next to us and thanked Red for helping her.

"Thank you, Red…" she whispered, a smile decorated her pale and exhausted face. Red shook his head and smiled in return. Blue hugged her squirtle, "Umm, Red…I…I" she looked at me. I could sense her saying, 'Now what, Green?'. I shrugged. The only reply I could think of. She let out a defeated sigh and reverted back to her usual self, "It's nothing, hehe…Have a nice dream, Red!" she skipped to her own room, leaving Red a little dumbfounded on the hall.

Now that I think about it again, Blue did look like she wants to burst out, telling Red about everything that she knows and ask me a question. It's scary that I know that her question will be directed to me. "Hey, Green…" I stopped fumbling my pendant and turned at him. "…can I actually speak with Mew?" he asked. I nodded, knowing that Mew could easily transmit his thought to Red's mind. Red squeezed his eyes shut, like he was thinking so hard it could make him pop. He opened his eyes, the red part of his eyes strangely gleamed under the lamp's light.

"Can I ask him about, Green?"

That is all for today. Thanks for reading. Till then!
