"Excuse me, I'm here to meet with Director Sullivan."

The guard looked up, and was mesmerized by the smile the blonde was giving him. After a minute he finally looked down, cleared his throat and spoke.

"Of course. Do you have an appointment?"

"I'm afraid not. Tell her it's Kara Danvers."

"Do you want to repeat that?"

"No, I think you heard me the first time. Now call Chloe Sullivan."

The young man opened his eyes as he heard the phone ring. He didn't even look down at the caller I.D. before he picked up. He didn't have to. Only one person would be calling him on his day off, and given that it wasn't even six a.m. he knew it wasn't his best friend. No, this was his boss.

"Clark Kent."

"Clark, I need you in the office. Now."

"Alright Chloe. I'll be there in two minutes." He said, and true to his word a freshly showered, shaved and dressed Clark Kent walked into the office of the Director of Counter-Terrorism.

"I'm sorry to call you on your day off, especially when you had plans-"

"Plans are off Chloe. Now what have you got?"

"Not what, who. Kara Danvers turned herself in fifteen minutes ago." Chloe told him, and Clark raised his eyebrows in shock. Not much could surprise the twenty-three year old anymore, but the number one most wanted woman in America for the last three years turning herself in would surprise anyone even someone who grew up in Smallville Kansas.

"Okay, that's great, but why did you call me into the office? This isn't something you could have told me over coffee?"

"Not this time. Apparently Danvers has intel on a possible assassin that came into the United States today."

"Then why don't we arrest him?"

"First off, it's a she. Second of all, she refuses to say a word unless it's to you."

"Me? What could she want with me?"

"I don't know. Clark, I need you to be one hundred percent honest with me right now. Have you ever met Kara Danvers before today?"

"No Chloe, I have never met her before. Believe me, I think I'd remember. Now where are you keeping her?" He asked, and Chloe nodded before leading her friend down the stairs where Kara Danvers was being kept in what could only be described as a box. It was a little of six feet tall made entirely of bullet proof glass, and equipped with the latest in audio and video surveillance. In the center sat Kara Danvers, looking as though she had not a care in the world.

"Chloe, I want this kept private for your ears only."

"Clark-"

"Please Chloe, I know that there are protocols involved but I need to know what she wants with me."

"Alright. I can give you ten minutes, but that's it."

"Thank you Chloe, I owe you one."

"I'll take an espresso, double shot and-"

"No foam, I know. You haven't changed coffee since high school." He said with a grin before walking over to the box. It opened and he walked in, the door sealing itself behind him. For a moment the two just looked at each other, blue eyes meeting. Then Kara grinned and spoke.

"So Clark Kent, we meet at last."

"Kara Danvers. Do you have any idea how much trouble you're in?"

"I like danger. It keeps life...interesting. But that's not really what you want to know is it?"

"Alright I'll bite. What do you know about the assassin?"

"Her name is Joan Young, born and raised in New York. She made herself a reputation for taking missions that no one else would. Suicide missions for lack of a better term."

"What's the target? When's it going to happen? Where?"

"I'll make you a deal. Answer my question, and I'll tell you what you want to know."

"You are in no position to be making deals. At best you're looking at life in prison, and with looks like yours we both know you won't last very long. Give me something I can work with, and I promise you that I will do the best I can to help you. My boss has a lot of pull, and she trusts me. You help me, and she helps you. That's the deal."

"It's sweet that you care, but I can handle myself."

"Alright then, we're done here." Clark said as he turned back towards the door.

"Are you sure? Then you'll never know the reason why I picked you, and you'll condemn an innocent man to death."

Clark paused and turned around, making Kara smile in response. He wouldn't let anyone die if he could help it, and they both knew it.

"Alright, what do you want to know?" He asked in resignation, and her smirk widened.

"Tell me about Lois."

"Why do you care about Lois for?"

"I don't care about her. I care about you, now answer my question. What happened between you two?"

Clark sighed, wondering how this woman knew about him and Lois. How did she even know about him in the first place? He had never met her before today; the only thing he knew about her was what was in her file and there wasn't much. She was twenty-five, and worked as an information broker for the highest bidder. She was born and raised in New Jersey, and graduated top of her class at the CIA academy. One day she went on assignment in Italy and just vanished without a trace until she started releasing government secrets. Kara coughed, bringing Clark back to the present.

"Trying to figure it all out? Going over my file so that you can find out what I'm doing here?"

"Something like that."

"Well we can talk about that later. For now, how about you tell me about you and Lois?"

"I was stupid, put my trust in the wrong person and got burned."

"By Lois."

It was a statement, not a question, and Clark wondered what the hell was going on. However, now wasn't the time for that. He had a job to do and he was going to do it.

"Alright, I answered your question. Now tell me about the target."

"Mercer is going to assassinate James Olsen in two hours."

A/N: I was watching the Black List and figured why not? Tell me what you think!
