Clary walked out of her apartment with Simon in tow. She had pushed a warm oversized jacket into her arms as she walked out of the apartment. It took her awhile to register why the sweater was scratching her on her one arm. Simon kept brushing her shoulder as they walked; he seemed to gravitate towards her no matter how much distance they put between them. Clary sighed and was about to tell him to mind his own space when she heard a shout in the distance. She paused in her steps and listened. Again she heard it. It seemed to be her name. She turned around and looked down the street. Jace was hastily, yet still looking casual, walking down the street towards her.
'Clary wait up!' he called.
Once he finally reached her and Simon he attempted a calm façade. Yet it was hard to believe it as he was panting slightly out of breath, and he was only wearing one sock.
'You didn't wait for me.'
Clary opened her mouth to respond when Simon cut her off.
'That's because she got a better offer.' Jace stiffened as he came face to face with Simon.
'Funny, because I don't see a better offer anywhere.'
Clary stood nervously between the two as they both attempted to make themselves the most intimidating. They were clearly trying to intimidate there others yet all they were doing was frightening her. The tension was so thick in the air that she could have seen it if she focused hard enough.
Clary turned to Jace, hoping to avoid having to take someone to the hospital. 'You were still asleep and I didn't want to bother you.'
Jace seemed to soften when he looked at her. They hardness in his eyes disappeared and he lips became not as taunt. 'It's fine, I'll always be awake for you.'
Again, just before she was about to respond Simon cut her off. 'Well she has me to walk her there now so you can go back to bed.'
Jace sharply turn his head to glare at Simon.
'It's fine, we can all walk together.' Clary cut in swiftly.
Both boys glared at each other before taking either side of Clary and continuing their walk towards the rehearsal studio.
The rest of the walk was spent in dense silence that seemed to make the walk stretch on for miles. When the rehearsal studio came into sight Clary could not have been happier. She quickly departed from both boys and almost sprinted into the change rooms.
Once she was in there she sat on one of the wooden benches and let out a long breath.
'What's got you running around?' Isabelle asked from her area in the corner.
She shook her head and rested it against the wall.
'Nothing, don't worry about it.'
'No way girl. What's up?'
Clary sighed as she realized that Isabelle wouldn't let it drop.
'Jace and Simon are just getting on my nerves.'
'Huh, some friendly competition for a certain red head?'
Clary shook her head and walked away, ready for rehearsal.
