Breaking Down Walls
Joe's POV
I stood outside the hospital waiting for my parents arrival. Ria is with Lei. I can't be in there right now. I get a feeling of anger and sorrow seeing her lay there. I saw a cab pull up before it could come to a full stop my mom jumped out.
"Joey, Joey where's your sister? Where's Leilani?" She said as she grabbed my arms. "Mommy, calm down please. Lei is fine. I'll take you to her." I hugged her.
"Hi Pops." I hugged him.
"So what happened. Ria was crying so I couldn't really understand." He asked.
"Lei hasn't been getting any sleep because she's been taking caffeine pills. She suffered sleep deprivation and may have gotten attacked at the arena last night." I said quietly as we got onto the elevator.
"By who? Why? Oh my poor baby girl." mommy said covering her mouth.
"We don't know. She's still asleep from being sedated." I shrugged shaking my head.
Lei's POV
"Good morning my love." I woke up in my bed. Randy was kissing my face.
"Morning Hubby." I smiled returning the kiss.
"You're so beautiful. I love you." He kissed me again running his hands through my hair. "I love you too." His eyes turned black.
"I love you to death." His faces morphed into Haku's. He started choking me. I kicked and screamed trying to get free.
"Mrs. Orton are you awake?" I could hear in the distance.
"Please call her Ms. Anoa'i. Not everyone knows." I could hear my sister voice. I slowly opened my eyes and blinked a few times to clear my vision. Ria was on one side of me holding my hand. A doctor on the order.
"Good morning, Leilani. I'm Dr. Gibson." An older lady said to me.
"Hi. Hi sis." She kissed my head.
"Hi Lani." She looked at me.
I heard the door open and I walked Joe, my mommy and daddy.
"Oh sweetheart. You're awake." My dad smiled.
"Baby! What happened? My poor baby girl. Who attacked you?" Mommy said coddling me. Oh my God they know?
"It could have been a hallucination, Ms. Anoa'i." Dr Gibson said.
"Yeah, it was. I barely remember anything." I don't want to tell them it was Haku. What if he finds out and comes to finish the job or worse hurts one of them?
"Why do you have bruises then?" Joe asked.
"I do?" I'm just going to play dumb.
"Yes on the back of your neck and shoulders. I want to run a few test since you're awake now." Ria backed away and hugged mom and dad.
The doctor asked me various questions to make sure I'm coherent and in my right mind.
"I'm going to have one of the nurse to draw your blood and put you through a CAT scan to make sure everything is normal." Dr Gibson said while writing in my chart.
"If they are when can I go home?"
"If all is well tomorrow, but there will be strict guidelines before we can release you." I really want to see Randy. He's probably pissed at me, but I need my man. The doctor left.
"Keike, what's going on? You know you can tell us anything." Mommy said stroking my hair.
"I just was so tired during the day. The pills helped me get through the day." I said feeling lumps in my throat.
"But you were up all night. I saw your phone history." Ria said seeing through my lie. "Leilani. Please don't lie to me. Please baby." My dad said looking me in my eyes.
"I just took so many I couldn't sleep. I wa-was having nightmares again. I just kept seeing everything happen again. I kept reliving it. I just couldn't handle it." I said as the tears ran down my face uncontrollably.
"Baby why didn't you say anything?" Dad said as mommy wiped my face.
"What good will that do? No one can make them stop." I said. Where is my husband? Why isn't he here?
"Honey you still should have said something. You need to go back to your doctor."
"I have been going back."
"So are you sure you don't remember being attacked?" Joe inquired.
"What you don't believe me?" I asked defensively.
"Listen Leilani I want to believe you but the evidence is there and unless you did it to yourself what else are we supposed to think? We went through this before with Haku." He said.
"Well I dont know what you want me to say. It wasn't real." I said getting angry.
"Ok ok now is not the time Joseph. Listen honey if someone did hurt you, you need to speak up." Mommy said.
"Mommy I know but nothing happened." She kissed my head.
"Okay, sweetie. I know you must be hungry I'll see if they have anything good in the cafeteria." She kissed me again.
"Thanks mommy." She smiled and left with my dad hand in hand. Joe peaked out the blinds.
"Okay, you have some explaining to do." He said turning to me.
"I told you I wasn't attacked." I said glaring at him.
"No, you married Orton and didn't tell anyone!" He waved his hands in the air.
"Joe calm down. Lei still isn't 100." Ria said sitting him down.
"Lei why didn't you tell us. When we were little we would plan our weddings all the time. I never remember you saying you wanted no one but you and your fiancée at the wedding."
"I was just so happy and Randy was right about tomorrow not being guaranteed-" I started.
"He didn't have a ring. He didn't ask for dad's blessing-" She said.
"What's done is done. Yes, I'm married. We agreed to have another wedding and were going to tell everyone around Thanksgiving so the whole family is there." I looked at them.
"Well that plan worked at well." Joe said in a snarky tone.
"Why are you acting like Randy is some scrub that doesn't deserve me?" I cut my eyes at him.
"I never said that. I just can't believe you went off and got married. After what? 2 months of bring together?" he raised his eyebrows in a sarcastic manner.
"I don't care. Where's Randy?" I turned my head away from him.
"We wanted to keep your secret and ours away from mom and dad. He left as late as he could. He got you that panda and this." She handed me a card.

Flower, please know that I love you more than anything. I am here to be on your side and protect from anything. Please know that I am not mad. Just confused. We need to talk about this when you get home.

I sighed and held the card to my heart. I must've hurt him. Running off without explanation.
"Poor thing." I frowned.
"Poor thing? We were the ones that almost got fired! I could have been spending a whole day with Anela, but I ran off to look for you. All because you wanted to pop pills to stop from seeing Freddy Kruger or something!" Wow he sure has his asshole hat on. "Joe stop it!" Ria said putting her hand up pointing at him.
"I'm going to be waiting in the car for you. We gotta leave in a hour. I ain't got time for this shit." He left.
"He doesn't mean it. It's just been a really frustrating past couple days." Ria said sitting on the bed and taking my hand.
"I didn't mean for it to get like this." I said crying.
"I know you didn't. All we can do right now is make sure you're gonna be okay and work from there. and PS the next wedding Randy better have a big rock for you and shave." I laughed.
"He will." My mom and dad came back in with a nurse.
"Time for your CAT scan Ms. Anoa'i." They carted me off.
Samaria's POV
While Lei was going through testing I went down to the cafeteria. I'm starving. I went over to a cooler and grabbed whatever was available. Funny enough it was a CapriSun with John on it. I sent him a photo.

I went to Randy's contact and pressed the call button. He picked up on the first ring.
"Is Lei okay?" He asked hurriedly.
"Yes, she's getting tested again to see is she going to be okay to leave. She said she took the pills because she was having bad dreams. She read your card and it cheered her up a little." I said.
"Good, what about being attacked?" He asked.
"She says she wasn't but I don't believe that. How could she do something like that to herself that quick?"
"If she's say I didn't happen I didn't happen. Please call me the minute you get the results." He begged.
"I will bye."
"Thanks bye." I hung up and called John.
"Hello Gorgeous." I smiled.
"Hi babe. Lei is getting scanned right now."
"You okay? Did you get any sleep?" He asked.
"Not really. I'm hoping to in the ride to SmackDown."
"When you get home I'm going to take good care of ya." I could hear the smirk in his voice.
"You need to train. Don't worry about me."
"You're my girl. I'm always going to take care of you. Even when I'm old walking around with a cane and when I ask you do you need anything my dentures falls in your lap." I laughed.
"I just imagined you nothing, but gums and your lack lips. But if you let your hair look like it did in the bad, bad man video I'll still let you hit." He laughed.
"What do you want when you get home? I can't cook, but I can get you the best of anything."
"A bacon cheeseburger with thick cut fries. I think I deserve it. I've skipped my last three cheat days."
"You do."
We talked until my alarm went off signaling Lei's test should be done.
"I gotta go, Handsome."
"By my queen I love you."
"Bye baby." I hung up and left the cafeteria.
When I came back Dr. Gibson was in Lei's room.
"Your MRI scans came back well. You have a grade 1 concussion."
"Her heart?" My mom asked.
"It is not very stable right now. I will put her on a prescription that will even things out. But she will need to have regular checks up before its for sure that she can return to the ring." She turned to Lei.
"No more caffeine. No coffee, energy drinks, nothing. If you do you could die."
"Leilani no more of that coffee ice cream. I'm not losing my daughter to Starbucks." My dad said. It's not a funny matter, but I laughed a little.
"So how many check ups until I can return?"
"There isn't a set time frame, but the more you rest and relax the more likely you will be able to return sooner than later granted your heart can handle it." I hope she's back before the Survivor Series build. If she isn't we probably lose our chance of winning the titles at TLC.
"Did this ruin her chance of getting pregnant?" My mom asked.
"Yes, she's getting tested again to see is she going to be okay to leave. She said she took the pills because she was having bad dreams. She read your card and it cheered her up a little." I said.

"Leilani if you do need any help we do have programs in place that can be of assistance." Now my bosses think I'm a junkie. I got up and went in my bedroom. I'm a disgrace to my family. I'm getting suspended for being a dumb ass. Randy knocked on my door and came in.
"Baby, Stephanie meant therapy." He walked up to me.
"No she didn't! I'm tired of everyone thinking I'm about to fall into the deep end." I yelled. "You ran off not telling anyone you went. You were acting like a freak all before that." He said.
"A freak?" He really just said that?
"Lei, I'm not sugar coating it. What you did was stupid. I know your nightmares are bad, but popping pills won't help! I could have helped you I'm your husband!" He said his voice raised slightly.
"Helped me? You popped pills for a high and OD'd! How could you help me?!" He took a deep breath.
"Baby, I didn't mean-" I tried to touch him.
"Since I can't help you I'll leave! Since I'm fucking useless to you." He walked to the door. I couldn't get too worked up because of my heart.
"Baby, please you know that I didn't mean it. I know you're just trying to help. Be by my side." I tried to grab for him to which he pulled away.
"It seems like every time I try to be on your side you push me away." He slammed the door shut and left. I'm such a bitch. I remember Haku would always say if I left him no one would be there for me in the end. He was right. I heard him say something to Stephanie and Paul before hearing the house door close.
Thursday...
Its Thursday and everyone has been on the road keeping the grind going while I'm at home miserable due to the mess I created. No one is really talking to me except Ria and my parents. I expected Joe to be mad, but he's never not spoken to me for this long. Then there is Randy. I know I hurt him tremendously, but the very thing I tried to prevent I caused. I just want to turn back time when the only problem I had was not wanting to kick Nikki's ass. I sighed as I drove home. I just left the doctors office getting a check up. I still have a ways to go as far as getting my heart back in proper order and knowing wether I killed my career or not. I'm just going to head home and try to get some rest while its still light out. I have managed to get a little sleep, but only in the day time. I sighed as I pulled into my garage killing the engine. I sat in the car to try to call Randy again to which it went unanswered.
John POV
"Babe what do you want for dinner?" I said to Ria on the other end. She was at her place after getting in from on the road. I know she wanted to go check on her sister, but I told her to rest a little first.
"I told you already I dont care just pick up something good I just want to see you." She said.
"Ok babe." I smirked.
"On your way though can you just stop by Lei's house to make sure she's ok? I know she had a doctors appointment today and is probably sleeping, but since you are making me rest would you please?" I pouted as if he could see me.
"Yes I will only because I love you." I said. We stayed on the phone a while before I forced her off to go rest. I decided to pick up some sushi as dinner before heading toward Leilani's house. I had Ria text me the address so I could GPS it. It was about 10 minutes away from Ria's house right on the way.
Lei's POV
I sighed after trying Randy again and decided to just head in a lay down. I gathers my groceries I had last minute picked up and closed the garage door. I sat my bags on the kitchen island and heard Viper barking reminding me I needed to feed him and take him out. As I was getting his food my cell started ringing. Looking at it I saw it was Ria and went to grab it, but being clumsy I knocked it off. Sighing I picked it up and after I stood back up I looked up and screamed.
"What baby? Weren't expecting me?"
"Haku h-ho-how did you get in here?" I asked backing away from the island into the wall.
"You'd be surprised how good you get at something when you're in hiding." He came around the island stalking closely up to me. I couldn't help but to start crying as the panic set in.
"No need to cry my dear." He said as he ran his hand down my face. "It'll hurt but it'll be quick." He said before grabbing my neck. Adrenaline set in and kneed him in the family jewels and swung as hard as I could punching him in the face then pushing him down on the ground. I ran over him trying to get my cell phone. I grabbed it unlocking it trying to call someone anyone but before I could hit send my phone went flying across the room as Haku smacked it away and grabbed me from behind. We were struggling when I pushed backwards with all my might shoving him into the wall. I ran for the front door, but I wasn't quick enough. He caught me and swung me around throwing me over the couch into the coffee table I had in the sitting room. I laid there as the pain radiated through my body, but I had to keep fighting. I got to my hands and knees when a wave of dizziness hit me and my heart began to race. My breath left my body as I gasped for air immobilize by the pain in my chest. I heard Haku stalk heavily behind me. He kicks me in the stomach hard enough to turn me on my back. I try to scream but no sound comes out.
"Well baby this is pretty exciting. You weren't a fighter before. Hmm I must say I like the challenge it will make this all the more sweeter in the end." He said menacingly. I reached my hand to him.
"H-hh-el-p me." I tried to say.
"What was that? huh?" He said he cupped his ear as if trying to hear.
"P-lll." I couldn't even get the words out and he reach his foot out stomping on my hand. I could feel the bones crush under the weight of his industrial boot. I screamed in pain.
"P-l-ea-ss-e s-stop." He mocked me before raining kicks and punches all over my face and body.
"Ok I have one more game I want to play." He said by this time I can barely hear him over taken with pain. Dots begin to dance behind my eyes.
"No no no you stay awake now. No more fighting back though and just to make sure." My eyes widened as I saw him pull out a long serienge from his jacket. He wastes no time plunging it into my neck to which at this point all I can do is gasp. He starts to rip my clothes off. He is struggling with the top so he goes for the bottom pulling off my flimsy track pants He pulls out a knife and cuts up the middle of my shirt. I dont know what he injected me with but my I can no longer move. My muscles are frozen. I feel the hots tears roll down my face as he grabs my neck and grinds his crotch into mine.
John's POV
I pull up to Leilani's house and everything seems fine. I wonder if she's even back yet. I kill the engine.
"Just let me at least knock on the door so I can say i tried." I go up to the door and knock and wait for a second. Nothing. I try again. Its a fairly large house. I ring the door bell before knocking again. I walk to the left a little to see if I can see if she is even here. I have to cup the glass to see inside. At first I dont see anything when I see a movement. A flash of black. Then nothing. I reach over knocking again calling out to her.
"Leilani open up its John. I can see you are in there. I just stopped by because Ria want to make sure you got home ok." Something is up.
Lei's POV
Haku starts to panic hearing the knocks and constant ringing of the door bell.
"You make a sound i'll snap your neck. As much as I wanted to prolong this its gonna be a quick one he says pulling out his man hood before grabbing my panties ripping them.
All I can think to myself much I wish my family knew how sorry I was and how much Randy knew I loved him. I could feel myself fading.
John's POV
Something is not right. I stand with my good arm facing the door and jam my shoulder into it. I keep going a good five or six times before the door finally gives way and bursts open. The house alarm immediately starts going off. What I see infront of me I am not expecting.
Randy's POV
I'm riding shotgun while Joe is headed back to my place after an intense weight session at the gym. I wanted to get home and get cleaned up before heading to see leilani and hopefully straighten all of this out. She is my wife for better or for worse. Though I was hurt, I knew she didn't mean it. I pull my phone out of my gym shorts as I hear my phone going crazy. I look at the screen and the words intruder alert are flashing back at me.
"Hey Joe man let's head over to your sisters house." I say sitting up straighter a bad feeling hitting me in my gut just now.
"Whats up man." He glances at me.
"it says intruder alert at lei's place." I say still looking at it to see if she maybe shuts it off, but it is still going.
"She probably got home and isn't moving fast enough to shut it off or has groceries or something." He shrugs.
"I know but can we just swing by to make sure?"
"Yea man." He says heading in the direction of Lei's house. John's POV
I am shocked when I finally get through the door. A man in all black is hovering over a barely dressed bloodied and beaten Leilani. He has her by the throat and I can tell what he is attempting to do. I can see that Leilani is conscious but she is not moving at all. I immediately charge at the man throwing him away from her. I toss him around like a rag doll hailing my fists wherever they decide to land. He cant even get a hit in i wont let him. I keep going until I hear gasping behind me. I turn to Leilani seeing her try to move gasping desperately for air. I go over to her looking her over to see if she is bleeding from some type of stab or gunshot wound but I see none. Thats when I see the suringe hanging out of her neck. I snatch it out and grab her face.
"It's going to be ok Leilani. Help is on the way just hang in there." I say. Its not good though I by her erratic heart beat I can tell she may be having some type of heart attack. What I am going to tell randy, what will I tell ria as her sister lays here possibly dying in my arms. Her eyes are wide and glassy as she tries to talk.
"Shh just relax." I say cradling her head as I try to wrestle my phone out of my pocket to which I realize I left in my car. I am frantically looking around for a phone when I notice her go limp in my arms.
"Wait Leilani no no no wake up wake up." I immediately situate myself to administer CPR. I breath into her mouth then pumping her chest three times. she will not die on me. I could never live with myself if I have to look at Ria knowing I couldn't save her sister.
Randy POV
We pull up to Leilanis house and I can hear the alarm going off. The door is wide open partially off its heniges. As joe and I quickly step out of the car we see a figure in black stumble out of the house and into the yard.
"Who the hell is that?" and what is he doing in my wife's house. I slam the door. Stalking up to the figure with Joe right by my side. we turn him over.
"What the fuck? Haku?" Haku? The only time Ive heard that name is the man who tried to kill Lei before. He's laying on the ground laughing and coughing up blood.
"Hey brah long time no see. Wish it was under happier circumstances, well if I did my job this time it will be" I snatch him up by his collar
"i dont know who the fuck you are but if you ever come near or try to hurt her again..." He laughs in my face.
"you're too late." Joe and I go to town on this dude. I swear if he laid and hand on her...
"CODE BLUE WE HAVE A CODE BLUE" I hear from inside the house. I stop and look up I see the ambulance and police cars. We never heard them pull up. We are pulled of off that bastard and the cops try to restrain us as I see more EMTs run in with a stretcher and difriulator.
"No NO LEILANI." I break away from the cops and run in the house and what I see is the most horrifying image one could ever see. The love of my life laying there half naked bloody black and blue. I look to see John standing there in shock covered in blood. I try to get to her as John intercepts.
"Don't man." John said holding me back.
"Move John." I warned not holding back my emotions.
"No let the help her." I am fighting him as I watch them power up the difbulator yelling clear before sending thousands of bolts through her body. Joe finally made it into the house and is absolutely mortified at the sight in front of us. They check for a pulse.
"Nothing…again." They yell charging the machine.
"Ready clear." They shock her again. By this point I am able to get to her.
"Baby baby please wake up. I'm here and i'm sorry just please open those beautiful eyes for me." I say trying to touch her but all these EMTs are in the way. The cops have to pull me back again to which I just lose it breaking down in a way I never knew I could. It was like a bad movie.
John POV
"Clear." They have been trying to revive Leilani for a while now and she is not coming back. What am I going to tell Samaria?
"We got a pulse we got her." They rush to get the air tube down her throat while hooking her up to a heart monitor and then transferring her on a strecher.
"Wait he-he injected her with something. I dont know what. I threw the suringe over there." I said.
"ok lets load her up." The police grab the sureinge and stick it in a evidence bag.
Randy's POV
"Wait i'm going i'm her husband." I said.
"And I'm her brother i'm going too." Joe said not leaving room for negotiation.
"We need to question you before anyone goes anywhere." One of the officers says.
"My wife is dying and you want me to stay here and answer bullshit questions?" I got in the officers face.
"Listen cant you ask them questions at the hospital?" John stepped in.
"Yes but go straight there, no where else." He warned. He barely finished before I was out the door behind the ambulance. I jumped in the truck with Joe right behind me. He is just as shaken up as I am his eyes bloodshot from crying. The EMTs are working hard to to stabilize her but she is in such bad shape. She just got out of the hospital and now this? This is the second time something has happened to Lei and I wasn't there to protect her. What kind of husband am I going to be if every time we are apart something happens to her.
John's POV
I hurried to my car so I can pick up Ria and get to the hospital. Before I could pull off I saw Viper dart outside. He was crying. I opened my car door and called him. He came running and jumped in my lap. I sat him in the passenger seat and peeled out.
"Call Ria!" I told the car. It dialed her.
"Hi baby where-"
"Ria, Leilani got attacked by some guy. I'm coming to pick you up." I said as calm as I could.
"What?!" She cried.
"I'm coming to get you. Just stay calm okay?" I said as calm as I possibly could. I know me and Leilani are on the outs right now, but I would never wish anything like that on her. I'd rather us hate each other for a lifetime then to see what I just saw.
"Stay on the phone with me." She sobbed.
"I will, I will." I gave her updates on my location. When I pulled up she was outside.
"Baby, put Viper inside." I gave him to her. She hurried and put him in her house then got in my car.
"Oh my, God." She covered her mouth seeing my white tee covered in blood.
"What happened?" She begged.
"I went to go check on Lei and something didn't seem right. I broke down the door and saw her laying on the floor with a guy over her. I attacked him then tended to Lei. She was having a heart attack or something. He drugged her. Then the police and ambulances came. Randy, Joe…" I trailed off imagining the image in my head.
"Is she okay?" she as hopefully.
"Her heart stopped before they got there. I did CPR, then they had to shock her, but she got her pulse back." Trying to shake the memory of her dead in my arms.
"She lost her pulse?" She cried harder. I want to hold her right now, but I have to get to the hospital.
I parked in the main parking lot. Ria got out before the car came to a full halt and ran to the hospital. I ran after her. She found Joe and Randy in the waiting room. Randy was slumped over in a chair and Joe was pacing the room.
"Joe! Where is she? Is she okay?" She all but screamed.
"I don't know. They won't tell us anything." His voice was full of shock and emotion. They tightly embraced and I let them have a moment.
I sat next to Randy. He was shaking and breathing hard.
"She's gonna be okay." I said trying to support my best friend. He shot up out his seat.
"SHE FUCKING GOT ATTACKED BY HER EX! SHE LOOKED DEAD! DON'T TELL ME SHE'S GOING TO BE OKAY WHEN YOU HAVE NO IDEA!" He sat in a chair in the corner far away from everyone.
"Her ex?" Ria questioned.
"It was Haku. Randy and I saw him leaving and beat his ass." He said in a low growl. Ria started to shake then fell.
"Baby!" Joe and I helped her up and sat her in a chair.
"Sis, you need something?" Joe asked kneeling by her.
"Wa-water." She said weakly as she clung to me.
"Okay." He kissed her head and walked off. I put it together in my head. Haku is Lei's ex that abused her in the past. I didn't know what to say to Ria so I stayed quiet and just held her.
Once Joe came back with her water Vic arrived. Joe broke down to her. Before I could explain to her what happened the police walked in. They kept pestering us for information.
"Can you all just stop? I'm sitting with two siblings that are worried that they'll never see their baby sister again and her husband that is barely holding on right now. This is not the time to ask us where were we when this all happened." I said forcefully since I am the only one holding it together the best out of all of us.
"We have to ask the questions while everything is still fresh in the mind." I rolled my eyes.
"Was I just saw is burned in my mind forever. I know Sheriff Jones well and I know he doesn't want his men being this incompassionate to the citizens they protect. So once we know Leilani is going to be okay we all will be more willing to answer your questions." They back off.
"Thank you." Ria said kissing me. Joe patted my back.
After 30 minutes their parents came in. At the same time a doctor came in.
"The family of Leilani Anoa'i-Orton."
"Samaria? Leaki? What's going on?" Their mom asked.
Samaria's POV
"Wait mommy." I said standing up and taking her hand. Joe walked up next to me. Randy walked up next.
"Samaria. Why is she here?" My dad asked getting angry with nerves.
"Leilani first. Please tell me my sister's gonna be okay." I asked the doctor. This is my best friend if she dies I may as well go with her.
"She will be ok." We all sighed, "But she's not well. She went in cardiac arrest. On top of that she has bruising on the ribs. A broken hand. Her face has some bruising. Cuts on her arms and back. Right now she is sleeping we have her sedated to ease any pain or discomfort has her sleeping. She will have to have surgery on her hand to insert some pins because the damage is too severe to heal correctly on its own."
"What was she injected with?" Randy asked.
"We are running test know, but what from I seen a heavy duty sedative that causes paralysis in the muscles like a botox would. Once we get the results we'll come back to you immediately."
"Thank you. Can we see her?" I ask desperately.
"You can but she doesn't look very well." The doctor nodded.
"I don't care." I say moving past him. Before I can entered the ER my mom grabs my wrist and pulls me back to the group.
"You arent going anywhere until we get some answers. The truth this time. She just got out of the hospital yesterday just to end back up in it. Then I hear they are calling her Orton whenever John and Randy and Victoria are around you are all acting like you are hiding something. Start talking." Mommy said crossing her arms. She was beyond the sadness now and was just angry. We all sat down in the waiting room shutting the door.
"Well first Haku was behind the attack today which leads me to believe he is the one who probably hurt her a few days ago as well. If she really remembers or not I dont know." Joe said.
"Where is he now." My father said clenching his fist in anger.
"The police arrested him." Randy said.
"So this all has to do with Haku most likely. The nightmares the caffeine pills. She must have seen him or he contacted her or something happened a while ago that she never told anyone." Mommy said. Me and Joe nodded.
"So where do you three come in?" She asked pointing John, Randy, and Victoria.
"Uh well I found her during the attack." He said.
"What were you doing there?" My father said suspiciously. John looked at me to which I nodded.
"Well uh sir Samaria asked me to stop by and check on her on my way to her place." He said quietly. I just decided to just say it. This was dragging on.
"Mommy daddy, John and I are dating." I said.
"What since when and don't you have a girlfriend already? Samaria I can't believe you shacking up with a taken man you know better." Mommy spit out.
"Mam Samaria is the only woman I am dating." John said.
"But you are dating that twin on tv."
"No mam that is television only its not a real relationship." John said. That part was a lie, but we will just leave that alone.
"Well Leilani said that she and Randy's relationship was for tv. Is that why you are here? I mean the doctors are calling her by your name?"
"Um well uh. We uh well we…its uh not fake."
"What do you mean what isn't fake?" Daddy asked with his eyebrows raised.
"Well sir Leilani and I got married for real in July." Randy said putting his head down.
"WHAT?" Mommy exploded out of her chair.
"Mommy calm down please." I said. I didn't want us to get thrown out of the hospital.
"How could your sister do this? How could you two keep it from us?"
"We just found out ourselves." Joe said.
"So what about you. Whats your secret? Is she pregnant? What?" Mommy asked.
"Uh no nothing like that we are just dating." Victoria interjected.
"I cannot believe you kids. I just…" Mommy said sitting down. Daddy was dead quiet which was a sure sign he was beyond mad.
"We're sorry for lying mommy." I said getting choked up. Our parents rarely get mad so this is very bad.
"Not right now I dont even want to talk about that right now." She said walking out of the waiting room with daddy behind her.
"Joey they are so mad." I said running my hands through my hair.
"I know, but its out now." He said.
"Listen right now they are overwhelmed with everything especially the state of your sister. Which we all need to be focused on." John said to me. I nodded.
We have been at the hospital for hours now. The bosses were on their way after hearing about the attack on the news before we could call them, so John called them and explained what happened. They were here shortly after as well as Tamina, Jon and Jimmy, Trinity. After immediate family getting to see her, they took her back for surgery to fix her hand. It was a solum and quiet atmosphere as we sat and waited for any kind of news. The door opened and we all looked up expecting it to be a doctor, but instead we see Dewayne come through the door.
"Dwayne!" I said going to him hugging him tightly.
"I hopped on a plane as soon as I heard. How is she?" He asked as Joe walked up.
"She's in surgery right now. They think she will be ok, but we don't know for sure. She had a heart attack." Dwayne closed his eyes hearing the news.
"She's a fighter and she will be ok." He said as we hugged again. He came over to sit with the family hugging my parents and our cousins while shaking hands with the bosses. John, Randy, and Joe have already told the cops everything they know each spent about an hour with them going over the same questions over and over. Everyone was getting restless waiting for the doctor to come back and tell us anything. Twitter and Facebook were blowing up with the story of Leilani being rushed to the hospital. Of course all the details aren't out, so there is all kinds of speculation with what happened to her.
"Once we hear from the doctors I think it will be important for us to issue a statement." Paul said. "it will probably be best coming from Joe and Samaria since she is in storyline with you two. We can have legal draft up a statement or you can write what you want to go out." I looked at Joe and nodded. I looked at Randy not sure if it is the right time to tell them about him and Lei being married. I went to the corner where he stuck himself to talk to him quietly.
"I know you may want to wait, but with this being out there for the public, you may have to come clean about being married. People are going to be digging and come across the information somehow. That nice couple who was there may come out and say something so think about what you want to do." I told him rubbing his back. He stayed quiet but nodded.
The doctor came back in.
"So Leilani is out of surgery and it went well. We only had to put a couple of pins in which is less than what we initially thought. She only needed two cuts to be stitched. the rest were bandaged. We did some extensive testing. The rape kit came out negative so that is good. Her face just has minor bruising most of the blood is from a broken nose. There was no concussion in addition to her previous one. A couple of bruised ribs like we said earlier, but no other major injuries. The only concern now is her heart. Due to the issue with the caffeine she was just treated for and the sedative he injected into her, that did cause her to go into cardiac arrest a second time."
"What it happened again?" I said panicked.
"Yes but we successfully revived her. She will fully recover from all of her injuries, but it is uncertain right now of her further in the ring. Having suffered three catastrophic incidents with her heart in such a short period of time I would say at this point it is highly unlikely she should ever wrestle again, but we will need to continue to monitor and do some physical therapy before we are 100 percent positive that is the case. She is very healthy so it is possible, but it will be a long time before she is physically cleared to do so." I sighed and sat down. This a shock to the system. I can't believe I may not walk down the aisle with Lei again.
"Would you guys mind if I see her alone?" Randy asked looking at Joe and I.
"No, go ahead." I said and Joe nodded.
Everyone sat back down.
"I'm gonna go change my shirt baby." John said getting up.
"Please do." I kissed his cheek before he exited. I noticed my mommy giving him a look od disdain.
Dwayne came over and took John's seat.
"What up with your parents?" He wrapped an arm around me.
"We've been being bad kids and lying." I said still ashamed of all the lies I told.
"About what?"
"Leilani is married to Randy. It was back in July. We just found out Tuesday. I am with John and now mom thinks I'm sleeping with a taken guy. And Joe is with Victoria." I said shoulders sagging.
"Damn y'all fucked up." He smirked.
"I know. They won't even look at us. I don't think we can make this up with just some sorries and puppy dog eyes." I tried it on him and he shook his head.
"You won't. But they love all three of you and they will get over it. Orton isn't a bad guy. Cena has… redeeming qualities." I sucked my teeth.
"What? He's a good guy, but he can be an asshole sometimes. Trust me I know I worked with him. But I know you won't take that shit. And Vic is sweet and funny. She's gonna fit in to the fam perfectly." He said flashing his perfect teeth at me.
"But on top of all that all of us are with someone outside our race. Even Matt." Our parents aren't racist at all, but they always wanted one of their kids to settle down with someone within our heritage. They had hope in Lei, but that's gone now.
"I went through the same thing. It sucks because you want your parents to be happy, but I realized your happiness should come first. Once they see their kids are happy they will be also."
"I hope you're right."
"Don't worry. A lot has happened in these past few days. They caught the sick bastard, so things will calm down." I hugged him.
"Thanks for being here." I felt a few tears fall.
"Family first always." John came back in. D went back over to Joe.
"I know it's not a good question, but you okay?" He sincerely asked fixing my tangled hair.
"Yes and no. I'm thanking God that Lei is going to be okay, but I'm scared for her too. If she can't wrestle again that will be devastating. We had all these plans and now there in limbo." I said getting upset again.
"As long as she rest and trains she may be back for Survivor Series."
"The heart is a muscle John, but it's not like you can train it to be stronger. She's had two heart attacks and she's only 23." A tear fell again. He quickly wiped it away.
"She will be back. She's a fighter just like her big sis. I mean she's threatened to maim me plenty of times and I know she can do it, so she'll be fine" That earned a chuckle out of me.
"I'm gonna go check on her. It's driving me crazy." He nodded.
"Take Joe too."
"I will. Thank you for being here."
"Anything for you." I leaned I to kiss him.
"Your dad looks like he's going to kill me with his bare hands so no FaceTime."
"He always has that look. You need to watch out for my mommy." He looked back at them.
"I think they just killed me in their heads." I giggled.
"If you get to scared sit with Dwayne." I kissed his head and grabbed Joe to come with me.
Randy's POV
The nurse let me in the room. I covered my mouth seeing Lei. She is still recognizable, but the bruising is all over. Her left hand was tapped up from the surgery. She has a scratches going up and down her for arms, a splint on her nose. I pulled up a seat next to her bed and took her good hand in mine.
"I'm so sorry baby. I should have been there. I never should have left you yesterday." I kissed her hand. Seeing her like this increased my rage. That heartless son of a bitch just couldn't leave her alone. He beat her half to death once so he had to do it again? I hope he rots behind bars then burns in hell for what he did to my wife.
"Randy?" Ria and Joe walked in.
"Hey." I wiped a few tears away.
The also had faces of shock seeing their sister.
"Oh God, Lei." Ria said rubbing Lei's leg.
"I don't want to see her like this." Joe exited the room.
"They want us to write the statement tonight so Paul can deliver it in the morning."
"I'll be out in a minute." She nodded and left out.
I started biting my nails like I always do when I'm nervous and can't find a cigarette. I don't want to give the okay to reveal it, and Lei doesn't want that.
"Stop that." I looked up to see Lei looking at me.
"Baby!" I said softly. I thought does meds would have her knocked out until morning.
"Don't do that. Don't smoke either." She reached up and rubbed my face.
"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry."
"Its not your fault." She said weakly.
"Yes it is. I should have stayed home and taken care of you but I let my anger get in the way."
"It's not your fault. I love you." She reassured me. Didn't make me feel any less guilty.
"I love you too." I kissed her uninjured hand over and over.
"I'm getting sleepy again." She said drifting off.
"Wait, we have to make a statement-" she fell back to sleep before I could ask her.
"Damn." I kissed her hand then lowered it.
I have to tell this. Like Ria said people will dig and find out. And I don't want her fam thinking this is my dirty secret.
"I'm going to make this right baby." I kissed her head then walked outside.
"Let's let it be known." I told Ria. She nodded.
"Okay, I'm usually good at writing, but I'm struggling with this." She said deleting a previous sentence on her phone.
"Just let legal do it." Joe frustrated.
"No I want it to be from us to the fans." She sighed.
"Let's just sit down and write this together. It doesn't have to be a speech. Just explain the situation and tell them Lei is going to be okay."
We all sat down and wrote it. It came out to be about two paragraphs and a half long. While we were writing their parents staying quiet in the corner furthest from us before going in the room to see Lei. I can see the hurt in Joe and Ria.
"How long do you think they'll be mad for?" I asked.
"After all the lies we told I'm sure it'll be a good while. Its hard to make them mad soooo yea." Joe said.
"They have to get over it by their anniversary." Ria said hopefully.
"Yeah they may get over it, but are they going to accept our choices after lying about them, especially Lei getting married." Joe's phone rang.
"It's Moxley." He picked up.
"Hey man… yeah she was… she's gonna be okay, but she has really bad injuries… she went into cardiac arrest twice, a broken hand, nose, and bruises… yeah she's right here." He handed the phone to Ria.
"Hey… I'm okay thanks… he's okay too." She said looking at me.
"No it's okay you don't have to. I'll make sure she calls you and Colby when she's better… okay bye love you too." I let him go and gave the phone back to Joe.
"I'm going to go check on Vic see if she wants to go home. We've been here all day. Need to check on Anela too." Joe said.
"I think I'm gonna head back too." Looking for John.
"I'm gonna stay overnight. Ria will you watch Viper?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'll be back early in the morning." She nodded.
"Me too." Ria hugged me. Joe and I bumped knuckles.
When they left their parents came out the room. Her mom was crying and her dad was teary eyed.
"Mr. And Mrs. Anoa'i can I talk to you?" I said nervously.
"My daughter was just attacked by her psycho ex. That last thing I want to do is talk anymore." Her mom said with distress before stepping aside to have a moment. Her dad turned to me.
"Do you think you're too good to get permission to marry my daughter? You not only disrespected our family, but dishonored it. You robbed us of the opportunity to properly marry her off. You robbed me of the privledge to walk my daughter my baby down the isle. I don't know if I can forgive that." Lei has the most intimidating dad.
"I meant no disrespect sir. I just love her so much." I defended.
"Well in my eyes you have." He said.
I went back into Lei's room. I'm hoping she wakes up in the morning. I want to talk to her so bad. Tell her I won't leave her ever again and that I'll always love her.
John's POV
Ria came back into the waiting room. She looks a little bit better.
"Let's go back home, John. I'm so tired." She said taking my hand.
"Okay, what you want to eat? I'm sure that sushi went bad."
"I'm not hungry." He kissed my head and we exited the hospital.
John went to Subway and got me a six inch and himself a foot long. We went back to my house. Champ ran to us. John picked him up.
"Hi buddy. Where's your cousin?" He put him down and Champ went over to my couch. I followed to see Viper curled up in Lei's hoodie that she left here.
"Aw, he looks so sad." I petted him and left him there to sleep.
"They say dogs can sense when their owners are hurt." John said placing my sandwich on the island.
"Sit down and eat baby. I made sure they put extra avocado." I sat on the stool.
"Thanks baby." He sat next to me. I ate small bits. I looked at John. He saved my little sister. He could have just knocked on the door and left, but he put his life on the line to save her. I want to say I love you to him, but it's not a good time right now.
After our quick dinner John showered as I laid in bed. I decided on no TV I don't want to see the news channels right now. My phone rang it was Joe.
"Hey bro. Everything okay?"
"Can you talk to Anela. She overheard me and her mom talking on the phone earlier about the attack and she's been crying since. I'm trying to tell her she's okay, but she wants to hear from you."
"Let me talk to her." I sighed this is not good.
"Auntie Riaaa!" Aw I hate hearing my baby doll like this.
"Hi baby. Auntie Lei is okay. She just got hurt."
"I wanna see her! Take me!" She said hysterically. I know Lei wouldn't want Anela seeing her like that.
"She is still needs to get better. I promise you'll get to see her."
"Did that guy do it? The guy that hurt her before?" I started to get teary eyed.
"Anela wanna watch Barbie and eat ice cream?" I heard Joe ask I the background
"I want Auntie Lei!" She cried.
"Let me talk to Auntie Ria." He took the phone back.
"Should I take her to go see her?"
"No, no. She's only seven. If she sees Lei like that it will scare her. Ask her does she wanna come to my house and play with Champ and Viper. You and Vic can stay in my guest room." I offered. Our family needs to be together right now.
"Anela? Wanna go to Ria's house. The puppies are there."
"Yeah, do I have to go to school tomorrow?"
"Let me talk to mommy okay? Pack yourself a bag."
"Okay." I could hear he kissed her.
"I'll text you when we're leaving okay?"
"Okay, love you."
"Love you too." I hung up. John came out the shower in his red Calvin boxer briefs.
"Thought I'd try to make you smile with my sexiness." He jumped on the bed and posed.
"You are sexy, but I'm going to need you to cover up."
"You can't handle big daddy?" He said thrusting his hips.
"No, Anela overheard Joe and her mom talking about the attack. She's crying and freaking out, so offered for her to stay here and Joe and Vic come to."
"Let me cover up then." He got up and took off his undies. He has a big ol' butt.
"Why did you take them off?" I laughed.
"I don't know." He went to turn around. I covered my eyes.
"It's supposed to be a surprise." I giggled.
"Girl, I know you be peeking in my boxers in the morning."
"Like once… or twice. Go put clothes on!" He laughed and went in my closet. I gave him a drawer. I hope he knows all his sweats and boxers are mine now. He's just borrowing.
A little while later my doorbell rang. I opened the door. Joe was holding Anela. She reached out for me. I gave her kisses.
"You okay?" She shook her head.
"Auntie Lei is okay."
"Why can't I see here?"
"You remember when daddy was teaching you to roller blade and you fell and got a cut on your face?"
"Yeah." She said covering the little scar by her hairline.
"And you didn't want any of us to look at you?"
"Yeah." She pouted.
"It's like that for auntie. She wants you to see her looking bad. You get it?"
"Yeah." She nodded.
"Wanna play with Champ? I think Viper is sleeping."
"Okay." I called him and put her down.
"Good job, Auntie." Vic said hugging me.
"Yeah." Joe hugged me.
"Is she going to school tomorrow?"
"No, the kids at school always bothered her about what they see on social media, so we agreed to let her miss so she doesn't have all these kids in her face."
"Okay. That's good."
"Vic is gonna watch her tomorrow." I showed them to the guest room then went back in the living room to talk to Anela.
"Why are you in my Auntie's room?" I looked down the opposite end of the hallway seeing Anela standing in the doorway of my room.
"Anela, I thought you were playing with Champ." I said looking at John who was caught of guard.
"Daddy says boys shouldn't be in girl's rooms." She scolded. I picked her up.
"Daddy is in the room with Vic." I argued.
"But they're together."
"So are John and I." Her jaw dropped. I'm tired of hiding this. Besides Anela is very aware and observant for her age.
"Nooooo." She frowned.
"Yeeeees." I sat on my bed.
"But what about Uncle Dolph? He bought us Fro Yo."
"I can buy you guys clothes and diamonds." John said. Anela made an anger face at him.
"But you guys were Ken and Barbie." She said looking back at me.
"We're Superman and Wonder Woman." John said.
"This is a A, B conversation, Sir. See yourself out!" She sassed.
"Anela don't be rude." I told her pointedly.
"Sorry. Are you guys still friends?" She asked playing with my hair.
"He's my bestie." I assured her.
"Okaaaaay." She pouted. I laughed and kissed her head.
"Wait! You aren't on Total Divas anymore?"
"No I dumped them and Nicole to be with your Auntie." He kissed my cheek.
"When Auntie Lei gets better we are all going to get our nails done and you have to explain." Auntie Lei has somethings to explain too.
"Okay, you wanna shower in my shower?"
"Can I use your Bath and Body Works soap?" She asked eagerly.
"Yes, and my shimmer lotion!"
"Yeah." She jumped off my lap and went in my bathroom.
"So mini you doesn't like me." I shrugged.
"She likes you. She just likes Nick more."
"He met her?" He said jealously.
"Once. He came over one day and Anela wanted to hang with me so he took us to the movies and Fro Yo."
"So I'm taking you guys to a movie premiere and ice cream." I kissed him.
"Don't get competitive. You're like a big 6 year old. She'll love you."
"I love you." I smiled.
"This really sexy Polynesian with a big butt and long hair feels the same for you." I wrapped my arms around him.
"I don't say it to hear you say it back. I say it so you don't forget that I do." I kissed him.
"Fuck you Stebie! You bitch!" John had it on VH1.
"Change it. I don't want baby doll hearing that." He laughed and changed it to the music channel.
"I still fuck 'em like I used to!" I shook my head.
"Oh Gosh. Vulgar."
"Girl you know if it was just me and you in the house you be poppin that thing." He said grabbing my ass.
"Not when Anela is around. I go it mommy mode."
"Auntie! I got soap in my eyes!"I heard Anela yell from the bathroom.
"Go help mommy." I hit him.
"I'm coming sweetie." I climbed out of bed.
After Anela's shower I brushed her hair while she brushed Champ's hair and took her to the pull out bed in the guest room.
"Night sweetie. I love you."
"I love you too. Can we pray for Auntie Ria and Uncle Randy?" She asked. I nearly started crying again.
"Of course." I clasped my hands. I was about to start when she did.
"Dear Lord, please take care of my auntie. I miss her and want her to get better and go back to work with Auntie Ria and daddy. Take care of my Uncle Randy too because he needs my auntie and my auntie needs him. Amen."
"Amen." I kissed her head trying to hold back tears
"Sweet dreams." I told her.
"Night night Auntie."
I went back to my room. John was sleeping. I cuddled up next to him and turned the TV off.
Tomorrow is gonna be another long day.
Lei's POV
"Are these all for her?" Randy?
"Yes, we had so many orders put into the gift shop. Your wife is loved."
"She really is." I felt him run his fingers through my hair. I tried hard to open my eyes and eventually did.
"Baby…" my throat is so dry.
"Lei, you're awake!" He kissed my head.
"Thirsty." I said tapping my throat.
"Here." He poured me water that's next to my bed. He used the remote control for my bed to raise me up. I gulped down the water.
"Thank you." I tried to smile, but my face tight on one side.
"Are you feeling okay? Want me to get a nurse?" He asked lowering my bed.
"No, no. I just want you." He smiled that goofy smile.
"I'm sorry. I love you. I'm should have stayed. I left you in a time of need when you're always there for me. I will do better, I will-" I put my finger to my lips.
"Shhh. None of this is your fault. It was him. He wouldn't have stopped until he could get me. You could have went to the corner store and he would have struck. I don't blame any of this on you." She said slowly.
"But it feels like I'm never here for you. Something always happens when I'm away." He sounds so defeated and looks like it too. His eyes and are red and puffy. His nicely manicured finger nails are now jagged.
"You're here now. I'm sure you stayed all night."
"I did." He smiled.
"So you know I don't blame this on you?"
"Yes."
"And don't you dare blame yourself." He chucked.
"I'm serious." I said sternly.
"I know. I just missed you." His kissed my hand. I looked at the other.
"The same thing happened last time. I was just pinky though." I lifted my good hand to touch my face.
"Don't." Randy said stopping me.
"Let me see." I said trying to get his phone from his pocket.
"No."
"Randal! I'm not gonna freak out. I just wanna see my face." He noticed that I'm not going to stop bothering him.
"Here." He opened the camera app and handed it to me.
"Damn." My nose has bandages on it. Bruises on both of my temples, around my nose, and jaw.
"You're bruising really went down." He took the phone from me.
"Do you remember everything?"
"I remember John trying to keep me alive. He gave me CPR, I think. If he wasn't there I do think I would have made it. I had a heart attack, huh?"
"Cardiac arrest. Twice."
"Twice?!" Her heart monitor started beeping faster.
"Calm down. Calm down." I took deep breaths.
"Whatever Haku injected you with caused it." I sighed.
"I'm not gonna come back am i?" I said nearly crying.
"No, you'll be back. Just not soon." He promised.
"But I was going to win the championship. I was going to do a music video and a commercial. My career is over." I buried my face in my hand trying to hold back tears. Randy moved my hand.
"No, look at me." I looked at my husband.
"You're gonna be back. You are not gonna give up. You are meant to be in this company. You are meant to be a champion. That piece of shit will not take that away from you. You are better than that. You can still be in the video and commercial. The fans love you. They won't forget you. You're not Eva Marie or Kelly Kelly. You're Tera fucking Carter." I smiled.
"This is why I married you." He kissed my cheek.
"You also missed something while you were sleeping."
"Daryl died on Walking Dead?" He chucked.
"Luckily no, but um your parents know we're married." He said scratching his beard showing he was nervous.
"Oh, God. Who told?" My eyes widened.
"The doctor said your last name. They also know about John and Ria and Vic and Joe."
"There most pissed at us, huh?"
"Yeah. Your dad is fucking scary."
"He won't hurt you. Where's everyone?"
"They were here for a long time. Even Dwayne came. Ria said she'll be here early. It was so stressful. The police were breathing down our backs." Damn, I was so happy to see Randy I forgot about Haku.
"They got him right? Please say they got him." I said afraid.
"They did. But Joe and I got him first."
"Huh?" He bent over and took his shoe off. They had blood stains on the toe.
"And then this." He talk gauze off his hand showing his bloody knuckles.
"I love you." I said with so much pride for my man.
"The detective said to call him when you wake up so they can take your statement. You think you can?" He asked rubbing my hair.
"I know I can. He's not getting away like last time." He kissed me lightly on the lips.
"That's my girl. Also I was debating hard last night. Because Paul and Steph wanted us to write a statement. Ria brought to my attention that people will find out, so I decided to have them add it after you woke up last night."
"I did?" I raised a eye brow.
"Yeah. Told me don't bite my nails or smoke and that this wasn't my fault. You were still high on pain killers that probably why you don't remember."
"Yeah, it can come out. Hopefully I get a ring soon." I said looking at my damaged hand.
"I told you they sized it wrong. The thing fit on my finger."
"Excuses, excuses." I rolled my eyes playfully.
"I promise you're gonna get your ring soon. You'll love it."
"Call the detective. Please. Then call my siblings."
"Yes Honey."
Randy made all the calls. Sooner than expected the police came to get my statement.
Randy's POV
While Lei was giving her statement I had to step outside. Ria, Joe, and John walked up while I was waiting. We greeted each other.
"Are the police in there with her right now?" Ria asked eager to walk in.
"Yeah, they want us to go up to the station after to clarify some things. I don't want to leave her alone though." I said. I'm a little paranoid right now being away from her.
"I'll call mommy and daddy. I wanna see her first though."
"How's Anela?" I asked.
"She's having a girl's day with Vic." Joe said.
"Did you call Paul and Stephanie?" Ria asked.
"Yeah, they'll be here a noon to deliver the statement."
The detectives came out of the room. Ria immediately walked passed them and went in.
"Are you all coming to the station so we can discuss some findings?"
"Yes, we just want someone to be here with her while we're gone."
"Okay, please give us a call before you arrive." They left.
Lei's POV
"Ria this isn't your fault. It's no one's but his." I hate that everyone is blaming themselves for what happened to me.
"I know. I just hate seeing you like this."
"Where's Joey? Is he still mad?" I asked hating he isn't here.
"No, no. He can't handle seeing you like this. When we were here yesterday he tried, but he couldn't." Right then Joe came in.
"Hi bro." I said reaching my hand out for his. He was hesitant.
"I'm okay. I promise." He took my hand. He wouldn't look at me.
"Joey, it's okay. I'm gonna be okay." He looked at me with tears in his eyes.
"I love you." He said kissing my hand.
"I love you too."
"Randy told me you two caught up with him. Thanks."
"We did. He didn't get what he deserved though." He said fist clenching.
"He will once he's behind bars for life for what he did." Ria said adjusting my pillows.
"I need to thank John also. My doctor said he increased my chances to live."
"How?" Ria asked.
"He gave me CPR. The doctor said if that didn't happen I could have died. He's not on my shit list anymore."
"Me either. He's stepped up and been here through all of this. He's family now." She smiled.
"Good job, Super Cena." I said making her laugh.
"Anela wants to see you so bad."
"Randy told me. When my bruising goes down. I'm not very visually pleasing right now."
Our parents walked in still just as upset as yesterday.
"Hi mommy, hi daddy." I said with a smile. Everyone is telling me they're pissed, but I'm hoping I get a different treatment.
"Hi sweetie." My mom said cheerfully.
"We're gonna head down to the station. We should be back before the reading of the statement." Ria kissed my head and left out with Joe.
"Do you need anything sweetie. Are they feeding you?" My mom asked.
"Yes mommy."
"Why did you lie to us?" My dad said point blank.
"I didn't mean to. I was going to tell you Randy and I were together then we got married and I didn't want to drop that bomb all at once. Every time I wanted to tell you I chickened out. But I promise this isn't puppy love between Randy and I. I love him and he loves me. This deep, beautiful love."
"Let's not talk about this. What do you want for dinner? I don't want you eating hospital food." I know if I wasn't like this right now my mom would be ripping me a new one.
Randy's POV
We arrived at the police station. While they clarified everyone's statements the head detective pulled me aside.
"So what's going on?" I asked taking seat in front of his desk.
"There are some new revelations in your wife's case." The detective said.
"Nothing that benefits Haku right?" I swear if he tries to fight this I'll get the best team of lawyers money can by to make sure his ass never sees the light of day.
"Yes, he confessed some things that are very disturbing. We would like to tell you and you can determine if you want to tell your wife." I took a deep breath.
"What did the bitch say?" He pulled out a folder.
"There was been a string rapes throughout Southern Florida. He confessed to committing them, but the thing is there is a disturbing connection between them." He opened the folder showing me pictures of different women. All of them resemble Lei. Black hair, grey eyes, brown skin, pouty lips.
I clenched my fist counting to ten in my head to hold back the rage building inside.
"We also found his car. It seems that he was planning to kidnap her. He gave us his address. We went to the apartment." He showed me photos of drawing of Lei bloody and dead. Another had a shrine of her with all the things she likes and a make shift doll at the head of the alter. Another photo was a room with a cage in it.
"He admitted to wanting to lock her up and torture her until he felt that he got revenge for dishonoring his family."
"Anything else?" I said rocking back and forth in my seat.
"No, we just felt that you should know this." I shoot up from my seat and left the room.
"Randy you okay, man?" John asked me.
"I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL HIM!" I kicked over a pot. John grabbed me.
"Calm down!" I pushed him off me.
"CALM DOWN?! THAT SICK TWISTED FUCK RAPED GIRLS THAT LOOK LIKE LEI! HE HAD A SHRINE TO HER AND DREW PHOTOS! HE WAS GONNA LOCK HER IN A CAGE! I HAVE ALL RIGHT TO KILL HIM FOR DOING WHAT HE DID TO MY WIFE!"
"Oh My God!" I spun around to see Joe and Ria standing there. They both were shocked by what I said.
Ria ran off and John.
"You're lying!" Joe asked me in disbelief.
"No, I'm not." I pulled him to show him what the detective showed me.
"How can a person be so sick?" He said running his fingers through his hair.
"He's not a person. He's a monster."
John's POV
I ran after Ria all the way to the parking lot. A car almost hit her. I was finally able to catch up when she stopped running and fell to her hands and knees.
"Baby, baby. Come here." I picked her up and hugged her
"I- I- nooooo. Nooooo." I rubbed her back.
"Shhhh, shhhh. He's gonna be locked up in a cell all by himself for the rest of his life."
She held me tighter.
"Let get back to the car, okay?" She nodded. I took her back to my car and opened her door for her. She sat down and couldn't stop shaking. I knelled down and held her.
"None of that is gonna happen to her. It's over. Haku is gonna be locked up and probably get death row for all the terrible things he's done." She nodded.
"Come here." I held her until she calmed down.
I hate seeing my woman like this. My best friend is a mess. I'm being the best support system that I can be. I just want this all to end so we can go back to our some what normal life.
