Almost a year ago I wrote a little chapter where Loki got kicked down to earth instead of Thor [Loki from the film not the comics, that's a different chapter] and kinda did nothing else with it… Well saw Thor 2 over the weekend and that made me want to do more set in that universe. I gonna skip the development section of this [you know where in canon Thor bounded with Jane and the others] just know that Loki still went after the Intel S.H.I.E.D took, because he thought it could be used to get him back to Asgard, and took down a lot of agents by fighting smart and dirty.
The villains here ate the Jotun and Laufey who have used the hidden tunnel Loki smuggled the two Jotun from the beginning into Asgard to launch a full scale invasion, bypassing many of Asgard's defences and sowing chaos as they rampage. During the invasion Laufey advances on the Throne Room and Odin's chambers while sending his sons, Byleist and Helblindi to capture the Vault [and Casket] and Bifrost respectively. Helblindi, who plots to kills his older brother and father so he can rule, knows Loki exists thanks to a Jotun seer and plans to kill Loki as, abandoned runt or not, he'd have a claim to Laufey's throne.
Like always, I really need feedback on these so I can find out what people like/dislike and so I can work out what areas I need to improve on. So please, review. Another chapter, another attempt to entertain you all. I honestly do not have anything else to add, so on with the show!
Thor and all characters from it belong to Marvel Studios

XX Jane Foster's Research centre; Puente Antiguo, New Mexico XX
Loki sat in the shade praying this strange fever, which had afflicted him since his arrival on Midgard, would break. Jane Foster, the mortal who was studying Yggdrasil and the means to travel along it, was arguing with the well-dressed mortal called Coulson. The human, who seemed to hold some authority, was seemed to still be angry at what Loki had done to his men the previous evening. He also kept waving around an image of a man who looked to Loki very much like a clean shaven and skinnier Thor.
"This, Ms Foster, is Donald Blake." Coulson repeated as he and several agents of S.H.I.E.L.D attempted to intimidate the woman into answering his questions. "So please be kind enough to tell me who that man over there is?"
"I don't know what you're talking about, that's Donald right over there." Jane lied coolly. "I… I've never seen the man in that picture."
"Really?" Coulson droned before taking a tablet from one of his men and opening up Facebook. "So these aren't pictures from Dr. Donald Blake M.D's profile of you and him taken last year in… Oh, Rio?"
"Oh… Eh well… Em, I… Hehe." Jane stuttered as she tried to come up with an excuse.
"Agent Coulson, please come in?!"
"Try and come up with a story while I take this." Coulson told her before moving away and answering his radio. "Coulson."
"Sir, we've located another energy spike." The voice on the other end of the radio reported in. "I'm on site and well… You won't believe what I'm looking at."
"What is it?" Coulson asked, he wasn't happy with being interrupted when he was trying to play 'bad cop'.
"Looks like a… A giant blue caveman." The voice replied, sounding like it knew just how crazy that sounded.
"I'm sorry, but could you repeat that?" Coulson asked calmly, noticing how the mysterious 'Donald Blake' seemed to be listening in.
"I said it looks like a big blue caveman." The voice repeated. "There's a bunch of them, maybe eight in tot- JESUS CHRIST! Hostiles, open fire!"

XX Bifrost Landing Site; Outside Puente Antiguo, New Mexico XX
Helblindi Laufeyson snarled as he spat out the metal lumps the midgardians had attacked him with. One of the youngster whimpered as another pulled a lump from his eye but barring that none of his war-party was injured, and even that was too many. His father had dumped weaklings and unproven children upon him and set a pointless task, securing the Bifrost. The Sorceress from Utgarda and the troops that had been sent with her already had the guardian Heimdall by the time he had arrived and was so wrapped up in studying the magics of the Bifrost she barely acknowledged his presence. But she'd done something else, she'd mentioned him… Loki Odinson, second child and problem causer to the All-Father, was exiled and weak. That he was exiled and weak and, from torturing the guardian, that he was a child of Laufey.
"Midgard… The world that spelt failure to my father." Helblindi growled as he sniffed the air, catching the faint odour of Asgard coming from a settlement a mile or so off. "Fitting that my rise to power begins here. I'm take the Trickster's head, use it to solidify my claim and kill that old fool… Hehehe."
Breaking into a sprint Helblindi led his war-party to slaughter and his glory.
XX Main Street Puente Antiguo, New Mexico XX
As the Jotun marched through Puente Antigo they wondered what had happened, the settlement was deserted. A few, those that were a bit older and had some experience hunting, noted that there was sign of evacuation. It seemed the humans Midgardians had fled.
As Helblindi passed one of the structures, a small rectangular building with its courtyard covered, he wondered how those who lived here survived. The lesser races needed regular supplies of water, and this arid place had none visible. Moving closer to the building and its covered courtyard Helblindi saw that what he'd mistook for standing stones within the courtyard had tubes and nozzles attached, the building most be built over the town's wells.
BANG!
A lump of metal struck Helblindi's forehead, just over his right eye, and alerted the Jotun to the presence of Midgardians. One of whom, the one whose little weapon had a trail of smoke rising from it, spoke to them in an unknown language.
'This is agent Coulson from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.' The Midgardian spoke in its primitive tongue. 'You are in breach of several laws and treaties, surrender yourself into my custody and I promise you a fair trial.'
Helblindi's reply to what he took to be a challenge between champions was to form a lance of ice and toss it with all his might. The lance was maybe three inches from the Midgardian's face before someone rose up and pulled the man away.
"There…" Helblindi snarled. He was dressed like the humans, and showing clear signs of suffering from the world's heat, but Helblindi knew enough to recognise his prey. "Come out Loki! I want you head!"

"This is agent Coulson from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.' Coulson ordered as he readied another shot. 'You are in breach of several laws and treaties, surrender yourself into my custody and I promise you a fair trial."
As the Jotun launched its lance Loki reacted and dragged the stupid mortal to the side and out of the lance's path. As he tried to steady himself, damn fever, Loki heard the Jotun roar his name… Crap.
"Friend of yours?" Coulson asked as he took up as position against the door frame. "Pretty sure he said the same thing Ms. Foster said when you freaked out a little while ago."
"Never … Never seen him." Loki painted; moving fast enough to save Coulson had left him lightheaded. "Although they… They do all look the same to me."
"Now, you're sure this plan will work?" Coulson asked as three of the giants charged them.
"Yes." Loki snapped before giving the signal. "Now!"
Coulson fired several shots out, the sparks from their contact with the hard concrete igniting the gas they'd spilled. As the Jotun screamed in agony Loki felt his symptoms suddenly get worse. It took him a second to finally realise what was causing it, the heat. Coulson had to physically drag him out the back before the entire gas station went up.
"Loki!" The Jotun screamed as his warriors perished in a fiery explosion. "Get back you whelp! Have you no courage that you'd run from a brother's challenge."
Shaking his head in a pointless attempt to clear it Loki's finely cultivated survival instinct, honed from centuries of fighting beside Thor and provoking the warriors of Asgard, screamed to dodge so he did just that. Embedding itself where his head had been, a shard of the Jotun's lance landed. This close to the ice Loki felt his head clearing, felt his strength slowly returning.
Something was wrong, cold shouldn't make him strong while heat weakened him. No, no it was wrong. He didn't get strong in cold, THEY got strong in the cold.
"Loki, look out!" Coulson yelled before opening fire on a charging Jotun.
Reacting on instinct Loki grabbed the icy shard and drove it into the Jotun's ankle. The Jotun screamed in pain and fell to its knees, dropping the crude lump of ice it had carried as a club. As the colour of Loki's hand returned to normal, all the fear and uncertainty Loki had been carrying since Jotunheim turned to anger. Snarling in an almost feral rage Loki snatched up the dropped club and struck the Jotun. As it keeled over Loki struck again, and again, and again.
"Hehehe. Good brother, I to see you've found your strength." The leader of the Jotun laughed as he approached. "Killing you in the grip of heatstroke would make for a far less impressive tale, even if you are just a runt."
"You're not my brother." Loki spat as he rose off the dead Jotun and turned to face the speaker. "Although, you seem about as smart my brother."
"Your arms say otherwise, brother." The Jotun snorted as he gestured to Loki's hands, which had turned a deep blue after he picked up the club.
"A trick, nothing more." Loki defended weakly, it wasn't true. Couldn't be true.
"A trick? Only trick I see is the one Asgard played on you brother." The Jotun laughed before introducing itself. "I am Helblindi, Helblindi Laufeyson. Youngest child to Laufey, High King of Jotunheim. And you, Hehehe, you are Loki Laufeyson… My oldest brother."
"Loki, or whoever you are, what is going on?" That was Coulson. The man had been trying to find a weak point, somewhere that he could hurt the giant while Loki conversed with it.
"Just let me kill the human and then we can have our battle." Helblindi said as he turned to face Coulson. Preparing to charge Helblindi blinked in surprise when Loki stepped between them, ice club in one cobalt hand and a shard of his icy lance in the other. "You want to fight now? My warriors will tear you apart... Step aside and let me meet his challenge, once I'm done I'll challenge you."
"He didn't challenge you, fight me." Loki argued. Coulson was ignorant, he knew of no way to issue challenges and even if he could he would die. Loki had to distract this delusional giant long enough for Coulson to run. Turning as much as he was willing to, while keeping Helblindi in view, Loki switched to Midgardian. "When I attack, you run. Don't argue, just go."
"I'm not leaving, you still owe me answers." Coulson said as the remaining Jotun began to encircle them. Raising his handgun and taking him, he continued. "So, what's the plan?"
"The plan had been for you to run and get to safety… Not that it'll work now." Loki sighed before noticing a familiar van lining itself up with one of the Jotun. It appeared Jane, Darcy, Erik and the other S.H.I.E.L.D agents had evacuated the townsfolk and returned… It also seemed Jane was going to ram someone other than him for a change. Running a quick assessment Loki came up with a new plan to, hopefully, get himself and his 'allies' out alive. "Wait for the signal then attack the small one's eyes, one is already damaged."
"What about the other two?" Coulson asked before spotting the van. "… This seems like a very bad plan."
"I've had worse." Loki admitted as Jane's van let out a roar and sped towards a Jotun.
As the van ploughed into its target Coulson acted, bringing his handgun up and unloading an entire clip into the face of the young Jotun. As the creature screamed Loki did his best Thor impression and flung the club with all his might. Sadly pinpoint accuracy with throwing knifes does not transfer to club tossing and Helblindi took the mass of ice to the shoulder not his chin. Closing the gap Loki hoped his crude, makeshift dagger would be enough to kill this clearly delusion frost giant. It had to be delusional, Loki was Asgardian.
As Jane threw the van in reverse, preparing to make it four collisions in two days, the S.H.I.E.L.D agents jumped out and moved to assist Coulson. Helblindi, who had formed a large club and crude sword, launched slow but devastating swings at Loki. Loki, forced to keep moving for fear of being downed in a single hit, ignored what the humans where doing and focused. Liver, kidneys, intestines… Anything not shielded by the ribcage was fair game for Loki's shard. Dancing about, ducking and diving to avoid the blows, Loki poked holes in his foe.
Dodging a reckless swing Loki brought his makeshift dagger up and under the ribs, embedding it deep in the Jotun's lung. Ripping the spike free Loki watched as Helblindi fell to his knees and, for some unbeknownst reason, smiled.
"N-Not bad, not bad at all for a runt." Helblindi coughed, splattering Loki with his blood. "Maybe father was wrong to cast you aside, to leave you for the elements… You did good, brother."
"I'm. Not. Your. Brother!" Loki screamed.
"Yes, yes you are… You wouldn't have won otherwise." Helblindi laughed before slowly pulling a bracelet of bone, beads, stones and crystals from his wrist. "Take it… We… We all carry them, shards of home… Helps protect from the heat fevers and… And helps focus our ice."
"I am Asgardian!" Loki said, he was he had to be.
"Hehehe… The Trickster fooled so well… Take it." The Jotun spluttered as he held out the bracelet. "If you are Asgardian, the fragments of Jotunheim will harm you… If I speak true, then you will hold the power of our people…"
"Loki! Loki are you alright?" Jane called as she left the van and rushed towards him.
"Stay back Jane." Loki said softly as he bent down to take the bracelet. He needed to know. He needed to prove what he knew to be true. He had to be from Asgard, the alternative was too much to bear. As Loki's finger brushed against one of the crystals, shards of ice that had been formed by the Casket so long ago, he felt it. A numbness originating in his hand and spreading upwards. As the numbness spread his skin changed, darkening and toughening itself. Loki found his body covered in cobalt flesh marred with stylised scars, scars that Jotun parents gave their young to mark out clan loyalties and parental lineage. "The markings are the same… The same as his."

That'll do. Helblindi and Byleist [anglicised from Býleistr] are biological brothers of Loki in the original Norse Myth, not sure if they ever got name dropped in Marvel. The seer/sorceress mentioned is this verse's Angerboda. She's the one who worked out how to mimic the spells Loki used to hide himself and his actions from Heimdall, therefore allowing Laufey and his men to invade through the hidden passage Loki inadvertently revealed to exist when he smuggled the two Jotun into Asgard before Thor's ceremony.
I'm dyslexic, so please point out any mistakes in spelling or grammar [I spell things the way they do in England and Ireland, so some things may look off to Americans]. Please leave your opinion via review or send them via PM, I'd like to know what you think. Well, I think that's everything I've gotta say so, hope you enjoyed the chapter.
This is Highvalour saying bye and thanks for reading.
