A/N: Welcome back to another update! This one is a little bit different, but I am making an attempt to cover all of the major characters instead of just focusing on one pairing. I did promise all of the demigods go to Hogwarts, not just percabeth.
ttopscher: Your review was just amazing! I'm so sorry about your dog, but I'm glad Lola is doing okay :). Thank you so much for your feedback, it was so helpful with the planning of this chapter, and in your next review (if you want to, no pressure if you don't) if you give me a pairing you want to hear more about I will write about them, with the chapter dedicated to you. I am not exaggerating, your review made me so happy and it was so genuine that I actually teared up a little bit. You are just incredible, Tess, and I hope you enjoy this chapter.
I will respond to some reviews here, and if you reviewed but did not see your response (because I do respond to all reviews), go check out The Little Things, my side fic where I respond to a majority of the reviews and offer sneak peaks at Hogwarts? What?. Now, without further to do…. Chapter 21.
Hermione's POV
Hermione didn't know what she expected when she was paired with Draco Malfoy, but this was not it.
The pair walked silently to their assigned house after the awful pregnancy spell, and as soon as they stepped foot inside the house, Malfoy made a beeline straight for the hallway which she could only assume led to the bedroom. The witch then heard a huff of disgust, before a door slammed and she heard running water.
Hermione rolled her eyes at Malfoy's dramatics, and took a moment to admire the house. The walls were hideous, but she changed them from neon orange to a softer, more muted brick color. Accents of cream set off the walls quite nicely, if Hermione did say so herself. She quickly conjured some comfy arm chairs, and set up bookshelves around the room with a wave of her wand. The hard wood floors were covered with a plush carpet, which lay in front of a now crackling fireplace.
Hermione took a step back to admire her work, but realized it looked similar to the Gryffindor common room. Hermione may be Gryffindor's golden girl, but she wasn't cruel; another wave of her wand conjured a green-and-silver quilt that draped itself over the back of one of the armchairs, and changed one of the reddish armchairs to an elegant forest green one. There, that should satisfy the beast.
She conjured all of her books out of her beaded bag, and set them to work placing themselves gently on the rows of shelving. With the living room putting itself together, Hermione made her way back to the room Malfoy seemed disgusted by… and it only took her a second to figure out why.
There was a single, large bed in the middle of the room. Hermione sighed, but pulled out her want to slice the bed in two, after all, this problem was easily manageable. However, the witch was in for a shock when the bed refused to divide. Hermione tried the spell again, but there was still only one bed, sitting stubbornly in the middle of the room. Well, this explains why Malfoy was upset, but was Hermione really that repulsive to share a bed with? The girl ignored the small stab of hurt, and set to conjuring bedding for the bed, and changing the wall coloring to mirror the living room. Another fireplace sat in the wall opposite of the bed, and with a flick of her wand, a crackling fire filled the cold room with heat.
Hermione set her clothes to folding themselves into one of the two dressers, and went to go fix the kitchen.
When Malfoy finally emerged from the bathroom, Hermione was settled into a chair, tea in one hand and book in the other. He inspected the living room, scoffed at the colors, but to her surprise did not change them. Instead he spoke,
"I will not share a bed with you."
Hermione immediately snapped her book shut,
"Pardon?"
"I will not share a bed with you."
"Well, I'm not exactly looking forward to it either." Hermione snipped, reopening her book, "But it is not something I can do a lot about. If you care so much, you can sleep out here."
Malfoy looked so offended by the basic concept of not sleeping in the bed that Hermione actually let out a disbelieving laugh.
"You didn't think that you could just come out here and announce that you wouldn't sleep in the same bed as me and expect me to offer to sleep on the floor."
Malfoy straightened his spine, and opened his mouth to retort but Hermione beat him to it,
"No, I wasn't done. I am pregnant with your bloody baby, so no I will not sleep out here just for your comfort. There is a thing growing inside of me, and that thing is partially yours. If I have to carry this baby, you will have to share a bed with me, or you can sleep out here."
Hermione was breathing hard by the end of her little rant, and Malfoy snapped his mouth shut again, but Hermione just see just a glimmer of respect behind the waves of annoyance in his eyes,
"Fine."
"Fine."
And thus a truce was made. It was fragile, and probably wouldn't last long, but it was a step in the right direction.
Hermione slipped into bed later that night, and Malfoy was already passed out on the left side of the bed, her side of the bed. Checking to make sure he was actually asleep, Hermione quickly changed out of her uniform, and into her pajamas: silky pants and one of the Weasley brother's huge shirts (Probably Charlie's judging from the size) that Ginny gave her for Christmas as a gag gift a couple years back.
She lifted up the covers, and was relieved to find that Draco actually slept in pajamas, and not just boxers. The girl scowled down at the sleeping wizard, and hoped he was a heavy sleeper before shoving, then eventually kicking, him over to the other side of the bed. Once that hard work was done, Hermione snuggled into the bedsheets, and the exhaustion of the day finally hit her; Before you could say "pregnant" the witch was sleeping like the dead.
