Chapter 21

Screams of fear could be heard as I exited the room as they all rushed off to the double E room. Emergency Evacuation Room. When I walked to Cole, I held his hand, also trying not to scratch him.

"Nice weapons,"

"It's nothing compared to yours," I sighed. His scythe can do much more damage than a pair of claws. We both went through each house, making sure that there was no one left behind. This could possibly be the last of me. I'm not a ninja of anything like that… But would Cole and I defeat him? We would need the other guys help to bring down Fire Blaze.

"Kiara," I heard Cole call my name. I looked at him as he ran to me. "Whatever happens… Just remember that I love you."

"Of course I'll remember that," I giggled and pulled his face to mine and planted a deep and passionate kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck while he wrapped his around my waist. Our body heat transferred from one to another, his tongue pushed its way into my mouth but I pulled away, sighing.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Do you think Blaze might be shot with one of those arrows?" I asked.

"Maybe… I just got an excellent idea!"

"What?"

"Do they have any spare poison? We can put some on your claws and I could also use some other weapons," Cole suggested.

"That could work!" I exclaimed and leaped into his arms. Once I got out, I rushed back into the blacksmith shop, the owners were responsible of the traps to prevent strangers. I rummaged through the shelves and draws… They're not in here. I looked underneath the carpet, and lifted up a loose plank of wood and found a butt load of purple thick liquid in small jars. "Hello beautiful," I smiled and grabbed a couple of jars. Using a glove, a scooped up some of the poison and spread it on my claws and it semi-dried in seconds so it won't drip. I brought out the jars and some other weapons and I dumped them on the floor with a loud clang. Cole went through each of the weapon and in the end, we used a plain sword. His scythe can't cut through anything.

"But Kiara… what about the scroll?" I gasped. I forgot all about it. I was about to run off but I heard a dark and raspy voice spoke.

"This place is deserted… Good," We heard Blaze. Cole and I stayed as quiet as possible. "Don't bother hiding pets. I can see wherever you are and what you are doing," his voice echoed through the caves. I looked into Cole's chocolate eyes while he grasped my hand, avoiding the claw. If we die… we'll die together. We walked out of our hiding spot and we made eye contact with the enemy. His red blazing eyes melted through mine. I saw he was holding the Glissthra ball without any care. He tossed it between both hands… If he drops it, everyone on this world will die.

"Love, such a waste of time," He sighed as he held the other ball in his right hand while his left hand caught on fire. "And those traps, what's the point in placing them? That's also another waste of time,"

"They weren't expecting people like you," I hissed. The flame in his hand grew bigger.

"Watch your mouth Cat, there's a reason you want this ball safe. If you keep your temper down, I won't destroy it," I glared at him and I pulled my hand away from Cole, trying not to cut him. "So you call this a secret village? More like a dump to me."

I clenched my teeth. This area had been my home, everyone here feels like my family. Especially Mione.

"What do you want?" Cole asked.

"Just to dispose the ninja and to read the scroll about this ball," He said and tossed it in the air again. I winced. Don't break it please. "So why do you want this ball safe?"

"Why would someone want to keep it safe for over than 100 years?" I questioned back.

"Watch your mouth," he hissed. I backed down. "Why?"

"Because it just would be a waste to create such a beautiful jewel and destroy it," I sighed.

"You call this beautiful you stupid cat?" He asked. I could hear Cole growling softly. "You too dog, watch your temper," and at that, Cole leaped at him. I jumped to his feet and the ball dropped from Blaze's hand and I caught it. I stood back up and placed it in my jacket pocket. It will fall out when I fight. I need another way but my thoughts were stopped once I heard Cole screaming in agony. I saw Blaze held him by the neck and his hand bright orange. I took off my jacket and threw the ball onto it and leaped onto Blaze's black, wrapping my arms around his neck. Once Fire Blaze removed his hands, I saw a huge red burn around his neck. It was red, blistering and bleeding. I felt tears tickled down my face. This is my entire fault… I felt Blaze's hot hands on my shoulders as he flipped me over and he pinned me down to the ground.

"Get off!" I hissed but he slapped me across the face. I could feel the heat against my skin. Pain from where he had slapped me.

"Don't make me burn you like those years before or kill you like that stupid old lady,"

"Don't you dare talk about her like that!" I hissed. I saw his face hardens and he lifted one of his hands and a fire appear. Anytime Cole!

"Don't struggle Kitty, are you still scared of the heat?" He mocked as his hand drew nearer to my cheek. I tried pushing him off but he didn't budge. "The more you move, the more it'll hurt." I had the urge to call Cole's name but that shows weakness. I screamed out in pain as his hand touch my cheek.

"Stay off her you bastard!" And I felt Blaze's body being lifted off mine. I opened my eyes to see Cole punching Blaze. My shaking hand went to touch my cheek. Blistered. I removed it and look at it, blood. I gripped the claws tightly and went to slash Blaze's back but his whole body engulf with flames and it melted the metal.

"Ah!" I heard Cole screamed again. I pried Cole off from Blaze's body and I took a look at him. Cole wasn't look any better. His whole half side of his face was blistered including his neck. A huge cute on his forehead and his lips were slightly cut. His right bicep was burnt and parts of his black ninja suit were gone. His 8 packs had another burnt mark.

"Behind you!" Cole cried out. I turned around just in time to see Blaze's hand swinging, aiming for my face. I ducked down and rolled over in the rocky ground. I winced in pain as my cheek touched the dirty ground. I lay sprawled out on the ground. I turned my head to see Blaze pounding Cole to a pulp. I gather all of my strength and pounced on him like a cat would do and I tackle him to the ground. This time, I was the one who is pinning him down. But his body began to glow a bright red colour and in no seconds, I was smashing into the stone houses. I opened my eyes to see the wooden furniture in it was all on fire. I choked out the smoke in my lungs and stayed low to the ground as I went to the door.

Fire was whipping against my skin, smoke filled up my lungs and my eyes began to puff up, making it hard to see. I gasped for air but I only had a mouthful of smoke. I looked around but all I could see was red, orange and black for the flame and the smoke but a figure was emerging from the thick black clouds but I saw Cole. He picked me up bridal style and carried me out. I looked back to Blaze who was on the ground with blood dripping from his forehead. At least Cole got some damage to him.

"Are you alright?" He asked me as he held my un-burned cheek and caressed it with his thumb.

"Yeah," I said shakily and coughed. He turned back to Blaze who seemed to be dizzy. "What you do?"

"I managed to pound him into those houses when he wasn't looking," He chuckled softly and hugged me softly with his left arm.

"What about your burns? Are you alright?"

"I'll be fine," He reassured me. I looked around to fine the Glissthra ball but I couldn't find it. "I got it," And he showed me the little glass ball. I sigh in relief. I quickly wrapped it in my jacket which Cole brought with him and I buried it in a pile of rock. We both stood up and I went to get the bow and arrows. It had been so long since I have used it. I quickly dipped each arrow in the poison while Cole headed off to Blaze. I held the bow in my left arm and pulled the string to my cheek and closed my right eyes and looked at my target. Stupid me! I forgot the arrow. I mentally slapped myself as I loaded my bow. The feathers of the bow tickled my cheek as I draw it back. I let go of the string and the arrow went flying through the air but to only miss Cole by inches. Opps.

I loaded my neck arrow and released it and it lodged itself in Blaze's leg. BULLEYES! He roared in pain and pulled the arrow out. Soon, he'll be blind… but when I got shot, I already felt weak… why hasn't he?

"Stupid girl, extreme heat temperature can kill all germs," he laughed. Damn it… but this is a very strong poison… maybe it'll take longer for him to be in its mercy. While he was laughing, Cole football-tackled him to the ground and punch his face. Go Cole! I cheered in my mind. I took aim with the bow but Cole keeps moving, I may accidently hit him. Suddenly, Blaze pushed Cole off and send him into another house… that's must have been how I ended up in the house. Blaze turned my way. I shot an arrow but it went right pass his ear! My hands fumble to load another arrow in but once I did, I felt his hot hands wrap around my throat. I gasped for air but I was surprised he didn't use his fire powers.

"You naughty cat," he teased as he placed me on the ground roughly, his iron fingers locked around my neck. My hand tried to pry them off but it was no use. "This is how naughty cats get punished," he purred in my ear. My eyes widen as he placed his other hand on my waist. I wanted to scream but no sound came out. My eyes watered and it started to get hard to breathe.

"C-Cole!" I managed to scream. His hot hand traveled up my side, burning away my clothes and leaving blistering burns. His hand which was around my neck snaked away as it went to work on my right leg while his right hand continued up my neck and to my blistered cheek.

"That so called ninja isn't here to save you," he said into my ear, sending down shivers but warm ones.

"H-his… right b-b-behind you m-moron!" I managed to yell as I saw Cole appeared behind Blaze. My boyfriend gripped Blaze's shirt and punched his face several times. His body became weak; his body wasn't burning up like before. THE POISON! I got up, my body aching in pain. Cole threw Blaze to the ground. He was twitching madly and his crimson eyes turned to a very light blue. He had become blind… It's working faster.

"W-what was on that a-arrow?" He asked, his voice trembling.

"Why do you care?" I mocked as Cole held my hand as we continued to watch Blaze's lifeless body. His body turned into ashes. We have done it. I didn't care if it'll hurt or rip the wounds even more but I flung myself onto Cole and planted a deep kiss. Blaze is gone. At last. I went to retrieve the Glissthra.

"We can turn it into a trophy," he smirked. I couldn't help but laugh. We're free.
