At the sound of the bell both Ranma and Genbo got into a fighting stance and started what looked to be a stare down with each other if you were to ask the fans. The truth of course is that they were looking for possible holes in the other's stance to take advantage of. Seeing the lack of movement in the ring Daisuke turns to Kasumi and says, "It looks like neither Ranma nor Genbo are able to find holes in the other's stances. And the fans seem to be getting quickly bored with it. What do you have to say about this?"

Kasumi had to put a finger to her mouth as she thought of a possible answer the question and says, "I don't really know what to say. But I guess it is kinda boring to watch two people stare at each other."

Hearing that Ranma lost his concentration as he looked to Kasumi and Daisuke wondering what it was they were talking about. This of course created an opening for Genbo and he quickly decided to take it. So with his wooden sword at this side he quickly ran towards Ranma and gave the sword a thrust to strike at Ranma's opening. Hearing the sound of someone running at him Ranma turned toward the sound just in time to see Genbo's attack and quickly grabbed the sword as he quickly dodged the attack. With the sword in the grasp of Ranma's right arm Ranma pulled the sword closer to him to so he could attack Genbo up close with a strike with his left hand. The open palm strike landed square in the middle of Genbo's face sending him backwards a couple of steps.

Ranma's next attack came as a roundhouse kick with his right leg, this was done as soon as he thrown Genbo's wooden sword away from him, which was caught by Genbo at the last possible second. Genbo shoves the kick away from him as he dives for his sword behind him. This resulted in Genbo being on the ring mat with his back facing Ranma as he took his chance to jump in front of Genbo and kick the sword away from Genbo. With the sword now even further away from him Genbo quickly rolled away from Ranma and used a kip up to get back to his feet and block a flying kick delivered by Ranma.

The flying kick was blocked with a punch to Ranma's gut which caused Ranma to fall onto his back. Genbo at this time took the time to grab his sword and send a quick attack to Ranma using air pressure created with inhuman strength of the swing of his sword. The attack would miss as Ranma would roll backwards out of the way causing the attack to cut into the ring mat and creating a long open hole that was visible to everyone in the ring.

Daisuke hearing the damage being done and the cloud of dust from the attack stood up from where he was in anger yells into his headset saying, "What the hell are they doing! Repairing the ring costs a good deal of money!"

Kasumi still calm as ever just looked towards Daisuke and asks, "Does it really cost a lot to repair a ring like that?"

Daisuke calms himself down a little bit as he sits back down and says, "It does since I make sure to use high quality materials to build the ring. And with what it looks like they just did I will need to replace several beams of lumber."

Sakura had to blink at the damage and then at what Daisuke said as it seemed that with just some sound he was able to tell what kind of damage was done to the ring. He couldn't actually see the inside of the ring mat from where he was could he? She was then reminded of an important piece of information. She turned her head to her left and saw someone with a television camera filming the action. She then turned back to Daisuke to see that he and Kasumi were actually looking down at the monitors in the ring side commentator table. She was about to question why Daisuke stood up on the commentator table in the first place when she heard the sound of a cry of warning from both Ranma and Genbo as his sword was flying towards her. So she turned just in time to see a flying sword spinning like a helicopter propeller, so she ducked underneath it just in time to see the flying sword to cut through the ring ropes. Luckily for everyone else it lost all momentum after it cut through the ropes and fell to the ground outside of the ring.

After seeing the sword fall to the outside floor Sakura stood up and turned to Ranma and Genbo and yells, "What kind of wooden sword does that!"

Genbo just stares at Sakura as Ranma shrugs his shoulders and takes advantage of the opening provided for him and grabs Genbo from behind in a submission hold. Genbo surprised by the submission attempt was unable to get out of the submission hold. Ranma now making sure that Genbo couldn't get out of the hold jumps and wraps his legs around Genbo in a grapevine hold preventing Genbo from getting anywhere as he now fell towards his back doing all he can to separate Ranma's arms so he could break out of the hold.

Ranma seeing that Sakura wasn't doing anything gets angry and says, "Aren't you going to check to see if he wants to surrender?"

Sakura yelps in surprise and nods rushing towards Ranma and Genbo to check for that very thing. Just as she was about to ask Genbo that very question she noticed that Genbo was able to push his legs to push himself up a little bit, just enough to move Ranma's shoulder to the mat. Seeing this she quickly drops to the floor so she could have a clear view of Ranma's shoulder and raises her right arm up high. She then brought it down quickly slapping the ring mat yelling, "1!"

Ranma now confused loosened his hold and looked towards Sakura wondering what she was doing. Genbo at this time was able to notice the loosened grip and began to break the hold little by little. He then had to smirk as he says, "If you don't let go of the hold I will win by pin fall Ranma."

This quickly reminds Ranma why Sakura was doing what she was doing as she yells for the count of "2!" next to his head. So Ranma used his last second to release the hold on Genbo and rolled out of the way to stop the pin count.

"That was a close call for Ranma as he was able to release the hold and roll out of the pin attempt. This just goes to show you everyone that experience can make up for any amount of skill. Genbo's experience in our tournaments almost won him the match with less than 30 minutes into the match itself." Daisuke excitedly commentates into his headset as Kasumi simply smiles from her seat next to Daisuke. She then also adds, "It seems as the fans are all just as excited as you are Daisuke. I wonder how much longer the match will last."

Daisuke turns to Kasumi and says, "Who knows? With the way they are going at it we could be here another half hour or so."

It wasn't long after that sentence was stated that Daisuke had to remove his and Kasumi's headsets and get Kasumi away from the commentator table as Genbo was jumping towards the table with Ranma right behind him going for another attack. Genbo would turn around just in time to catch Ranma in a quick body slam into the table. Daisuke and Kasumi could only stare as both Genbo and Ranma were struggling to get up from the fall through the table while attacking each other from a kneeling position.

Daisuke then turns to Sakura in the ring and sees her looking towards him. He then turns his head towards Ranma and Genbo silently reminding Sakura that they are outside of the ring and she needed to start the ring out count. It would take Sakura reaching the count of 5 for Ranma and Genbo to even hear her and realize that they needed to get back into the ring. Genbo would use this time to strike Ranma in his knee weakening his leg while the count increased to 6. By the time Ranma struck back with an open palm to Genbo's face the count would reach 7. By the count of 8 both Ranma and Genbo reached their feet finally and tried to get back into the ring. By the count of 9 both of them were on the ring apron of one the 3 remaining sides with ring ropes. Ranma would use his leg strength to jump back into the ring while giving Genbo a dropkick back to the outside. Ranma would land on the inside of the ring just as the count would reach 10 resulting in the end of the match.

Cheers were heard from the crowd as Sakura raises Ranma's hand shouting, "Your winner of the match. Ranma Saotome!"

Throughout the match Nabiki, Soun and Genma were wondering how was it that Genbo was hurting Ranma with what looked to be weaker attacks than even Kuno has used on Ranma. This would be answered when Genma tried to lift the sword only to find out that it was in fact as heavy if not heavier than Ryoga's umbrella. Nabiki hearing this info whistles as she looks towards Ranma and Genbo in the ring shaking each other's hands. Both seemed to be in good spirits so she wasn't going to question either one too much about the match. Although she did take this time to look at the table and ring to examine them. It doesn't hurt to examine such things to figure out what could have caused Ranma to get hurt so much easier than normal. The answer was quickly answered when she realized that while both were indeed made with wood they were also made with solid steel. The ring had solid steel beams crisscrossing underneath the ring mat and underneath the wooden beams that created the flat surface that Ranma and Genbo fought on. The table was made in a similar fashion. So when Nabiki turned behind her and saw the damage that Genbo's sword had done to the ring she could only imagine that the few hits that Genbo got in had to have caused a good deal of damage.

Nabiki had to shake her head and says, "Next time Ranma I suggest you train harder than you did for this. That was too close."

Ranma at first was annoyed at the comment but understood what Nabiki meant by it and just laughs it off saying, "It's no problem for me. I can take it" He then turned to Genbo, Daisuke and Sakura and says, "So after Genbo who do I have to face next?"

"That would be me." A quite voice behind the group answers. The sudden answer causing everyone to turn behind them to see someone around Daisuke's age in a lab coat and slacks standing in the ring. Of course Ranma, Nabiki and her family had no idea as to who this was. Genma, Nodoka and the others all knew who he was of course.

Genma had a goofy grin on his face as he says, "I guess the age difference was too much to include you into your true generation's ranking. How have you been little bro?"

Ranma and Nabiki had to turn to Genma and back to the mystery figure multiple times before turning back to Genma and in unison they ask, "Your brother?"

The mystery figure actually laughs at this point and says, "Yeah. I'm technically your Uncle but if you count the age difference I'm more like a cousin than anything. It's odd I know. But I am only a few years older than you. My name is Tenchi Saotome and I am a pharmacist by trade. And I am one rank higher than Genbo….well I guess I am two ranks higher….that is unless you can beat me Ranma."
