I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaack! Well sort of... SO I know it's been a while and I've been trying to write but unfortunately a concussion over the summer kind of stopped me from writing anything so I'm a liiiiiittle behind! Anyways as a way to let you know that I'm still keeping it up here is the first chapter to the second half of the Zombie Apocalypse AU! Enjoy everybody!

Erza ran. She ran through the town of Magnolia under a wax moon at speeds that she didn't even know she had. Past the old bakers shop, past the armoury, past the park and finally past the ruins of the wall that had been used to defend her guild. When she hit the gate she wrapped her hands around the bars and rattled the gate, trying to get the attention of anybody that could hear her. She screamed and she yelled until she couldn't feel her throat anymore. Then the presence came behind her. She didn't know what it was or why she had to run away from it but the thing was something that she needed to stay away from; that much she knew. She started crying and slowly drew her sword from its sheath on her left hip. If this was how she died then she would go down fighting in front of her home. The shadow reared its ugly head straight upwards, covering the moon and leaving her in darkness to face it. With a mighty yell Titania charged at her enemy and woke up panting and sweating in her hammock. She covered her face with her hands and heaved a great sob into them before looking over beside her. The space was still there; Jellal was still gone.

Flashback

"You're actually serious." Erza stood over him as Jellal packed a bag.

"Of course I'm serious. We need to see who's out there still. If there still is anybody that is." He hoisted the pack on his and started stabbing his spears into it. "We know the zombies are dead but we still need to see if there's anything else out there as well." Erza hated to admit that he was right. One month after the battle with Zeref and still nobody wanted to use their powers all that much for fear of attracting the zombies that weren't there anymore. Two straight months of not using their powers had left the guild hesitant; unwanting.

"I just. Why now? Can't you stay just a little while longer? We need you here." Jellal stopped packing and stood up to look at her.

"It's not 'we' is it?" He had moved closer to her, standing only half a foot away.

"No." Erza looked him straight in the eyes. "No it's I. I need you here."

"Erza just. Please don't make this harder than it should be."

"Harder than it should be?! You're about to walk out of this guild for gods know how long to look for something that you don't even know is there withot any way of communicating and hope that I'm just going to be okay with that?!" There was a long silence between the two of them. Finally Jellal brought his arms up and wrapped them around Erza to bring her into a hug.

"No. Nobody would be okay with what I'm doing. But it needs to be done. I'm coming back for you when I'm done Erza. I promise." She fought back tears as Jellal said his goodbye. She didn't want to be left alone but when it came to Jellal, there was nothing else she could do.

Present

Erza needed air. Swinging from the hammock she clunked her way through the guild and with as little noise as possible opened the front doors to slip into the night. The fresh night air woke her senses immediately and Erza had to gasp silently to herself when she saw the moon shining down on the large courtyard that was left from the preperations for the battle with Zeref. The full moon illuminated the space leaving her feeling almost insignificant when remembering what had happened that day. Turning right she stumbled slightly upon seeing a figure standing along the right side of the fence. In the light of the moon it didn't take her long to see who it was though and she silently made her way towards him.

"Gray." The one-eyed mage turned towards her holding his son in his arms. The babe was alseep and resting peacefully against his chest, his little hand clenched in fists and held up to his face like boxer ready for round two.

"Erza! What are you doing up?" His voice was calm and calculating.

"I couldn't sleep, needed some fresh air. I'm guessing he was the same?" She smiled down at the blue haired baby.

"Yeah, Lyon was getting restless so I thought I'd take him out here. He seems to enjoy the colder night air." Gray gave a warm smile to the boy, named after his old friend.

"Sounds like his father." Erza looked back up at her old friend noticed a tear coming down down from his left eye.

"He has his mothers hair at least." Erza realized what was happening now.

"That's true." Silence.

"I don't want to raise him in this world." Gray was still looking down at the blue haired boy and crying as he spoke softly. "I want him to be safe, to be secure. I want him to have a home that isn't just this guild and I want him to be able to roam free if he so chooses. I want more for him than I ever wanted for myself."

"Gray-"

"I don't know what's going to happen. But you can feel it as well. There's been a shift Erza, a shift in the way that this land breathes. I wish I had a better way to explain the feeling but I don't."

"I know there is. It's affecting everybody, I can see it. Wendy has been having nightmares again, Freed has been having a bad feeling lately and even the guys from Quatro Cerberus are starting to act strangely." Gray nodded and looked back at the thing sitting at his feet.

"At least Cana has somebody again." His voice wavered for a second and Erza saw the flash of sadness that had haunted the man for months now.

"Gray I'm sure one day-"

"Erza please. It's not what I need right now."

"But sooner or later-"

"I don't need anybody!"

"Gray everybody-"

"I'LL BE FINE!" There was a blast of Arctic cold air from the man that stood in front of her and Erza had to take a step back in fear of her friend and the power that surged from him.

"Gray." The Ice-Make mage turned and saw what he had done. His shoulders sagged down as low as they could go as Gray stood staring at it.

"I'll be fine. All that matters now is Lyon." Before anything else could be said he walking off back towards the guild, comforting a now awake Lyon back to sleep. Erza stood alone staring in front of her for a long time after that. It was beautiful, gorgeous was probably a better word for it as it sat glistening in the moonlight. Her curves matched the woman too perfectly, her lips pressed into the small smile that she gave and even her hair was perfect down to every single strand having its own place. Erza finally had to walk away from it. If it hadn't been sitting atop Juvia's grave; Erza would have thought she was looking right at the real thing.

A year after the battle with Zeref and it seems that the landscape of the guild has changed a bit. What's been going on and what is the shift that Erza and Gray are feeling? Welcome back to the Zombie AU y'all, hope you survive the experience ;)
