Klaus sat regally in the chair in his study, his hands were clasp underneath his chin and his eyes focused on nothing as he was deep in thought. He thought not about his past discretions, or his new loyalty to Violetta but of another problem that was weighing heavily on his mind. The one thing he'd always failed in succeeding on getting, the one thing that seemed to matter more to him in the coming days than anything previously had.

However, it didn't matter so much right now, as if he was going to win, he was going to win honestly, he had learnt with this particular situation that lying, cheating and scheming would not help, if he wanted to win he would have to win fairly and honestly. He was of course thinking about one Caroline Forbes. He didn't know what it was about her that was so fascinating, it wasn't like he had ever felt this way about another person and it definitely hadn't happened since he was human. There was just something about her that held his attention, the more he learnt about her the more he wanted to be with her.

This would take some planning, granted in the hopes that Caroline would split from her relationship with Tyler. It wasn't the man himself that he had a problem with, it was the fact that he was a wolf and could kill Caroline if he lost control. Perhaps he'd enlist the help of Violetta, or even Jenna, they seemed to be the ones with the ability to come up with amazing plans. Yes, perhaps he'd do just that.

MEANWHILE

Damon had come to Violetta's house, and kidnapped her. Not in a nefarious way, he had just thought of another way to surprise her with the relationship they shared. He was very focused on making sure that their relationship was never dull and always full of fun and emotions. He was coming to care very deeply for Violetta, and it wasn't because of the history she told him, he knew that even if it hadn't be prophesised he would be falling for her. There was so much about her that he loved and now that he had her he wasn't going to let her go, so that meant always making sure that their relationship was fun and never boring.

It wasn't as hard as some on you might think for Damon to forget his mean sarcastic attitude and swap it for something more human and kind. It wasn't just a case of him not showing this side to any other soul, it was more that they didn't deserve to see this side of him. Violetta had never judged him, she'd accepted all of him, even if he didn't have romantic feelings for her, he felt sure that he'd show her his true self, she simply deserved that honour.

Anyway, his date tonight wasn't some romantic picnic in the forest, nor was it a candlelit dinner in a fancy restaurant. He actually sought out both Jenna and Lexi for help this time, he wanted to do something that Violetta would really enjoy and he thought he'd hit the jackpot. Unbeknown to him Mystic Falls housed an art house cinema. He wasn't surprised that he didn't know of the place, it was practically falling down, it survived on donations from the public and unfortunately the public hadn't been very giving recently.

However, Damon – being the man that he is – came swanning in, determined to have a perfect date with Violetta and if that included paying a large sum of money to ensure the continuing survival of said art house cinema then who was he to moan. Plus he knew that if Violetta found out that he'd saved this place, it would earn him more brownie points in her view. It was a win-win situation. Now for the film, unfortunately the cinema wasn't showing anything in particular, certainly nothing that caught his eye anyhow. However after a little chat with the duo that followed Violetta, he learnt of her love for superheroes. Personally he couldn't quite see the allure, but then he saw himself as better than a superhero in every respect. However, the night wasn't about feeding his ego, it was about pleasing Violetta. So as any dutiful boyfriend, he picked up several superhero related DVDs including the recent film The Avengers. Though he hadn't seen it, he was told by others that it was a favourite of Violetta's. Perhaps if she loved it so, he could learn to enjoy it.

'Where are you taking me Damon?' asked Violetta.

'It's a surprise' he replied.

'Urgh that is such a 'you' think so say, I bet you're smirking right now' she moaned.

'If you keep moaning I'll just take you home' he mocked.

That shut her mouth and she remained silent, he chuckled.

'We're almost here' he said as he walked her towards their destination.

She was bursting to say something but held her tongue, she didn't want to return home and knew Damon well enough to assume he would take her straight home if she moaned about the surprise again.

'Viola' said Damon as he removed her blindfold.

She took a minute to adjust her eyes to the sudden light before she realised where they were. 'The art house cinema?' she queried.

Damon smirked at her confusion.

'Damon what are we doing here?' she asked.

Damon merely chuckled as he led her inside the deserted cinema, picked up a box of popcorn for her and led her into the cinema screen.

'Why is it so quiet?' she asked.

Damon sat her down in the middle of the empty screen before seating himself next to her.

'Damon did you arrange all this?' she asked with wonder.

He sighed 'well if it wasn't me I'd be pretty confused right now' he said.

She furrowed her brow at him.

'It's a date Vi and I wanted it to be special so I talked to a few birds I knew that told me of your love of places like this. Now shh or you'll miss the entertainment' he said.

She looked at him in wonder.

'You can gaze at my glory later' he said sarcastically.

'Jerk' she muttered.

ON THE OTHERSIDE OF TOWN

It really should be such a big deal, all she needed to do was walk into the building. At present she was just standing outside. She didn't know whether she was waiting for a sign to lead her inside or let her run away.

This was stupid, the amount of things she'd done in her life and she was getting stressed over this but she supposed she wasn't the same person anymore. It worried her, this change she was feeling, she felt iffy. Indeed if she was still human, she imagined she'd be feeling slightly sick and have sweaty palms. Just go inside she urged herself. No big deal, just three steps, there she was in.

The world bustled on around her, friend's chatted with each other, men sat drinking together, enemies played pool like nothing had changed. She knew he'd be here, he was seldom not working at the Grill. She watched him eagerly as he wiped down tables, and took other orders. She liked it best when he was working behind the bar but that didn't happen often. She walked up behind him, careful to make some noise in order not to scare him.

'Can we talk?' she asked as she gained his attention.

'Sure, I'm due a break anyway' he replied.

They sat down at a nearby empty table.

'So what did you want to talk about?' he asked.

'Would you say we've gotten to know each other a little, I mean we're friend's right?' she said.

'Yeah I guess so' he replied.

'Do you think I'm a good person?' she asked.

'I think the person you are now is good' he replied.

She nodded, just say it her mind whispered.

'If someone unexpected told you they liked you, what would you do?' she asked.

'Depends who the person was' he replied.

'Well what if it was me?' she asked.

'What?' he replied.

'I like you Matt, more than a friend' she said quietly.

He stared at her for a second too long and she felt the seeds of rejection falling upon her, she got up quickly to leave but his hand on hers halted her exit.

'Please don't go' he murmured 'I'm sorry I didn't answer, I was in shock' he added.

She sighed, allowing him to pull her back to sitting, she closed her eyes and waiting for whatever answer he would give.

'I think despite your past, present and future that I like you as well' he said.

AN: Bit of a filler? Not sure, man it's weird writing this after such an extended break ~ Zyii
