I hear someone clear their throat and we quickly break apart and turn to see my mom and Vance's smiling at us. I clear my throat.
"Sorry about that" I say.
"Nothing to be sorry about after all, you need to do that to have children don't you?" Vance's mother says.
I'm shocked but I still nod.
"Anyway, Vance, I just came to tell you that you best behave in this house and treat them with respect or I'll come to this house myself and yank you out by the ear if I have to" His mother tells him with a stern look.
"By the way, this place looks lovely" His mother says while smiling at my mom.
"He's living here?" I ask before I can stop myself.
"Why yes, I hope its ok with you" My mom says. I nod. Great.
"Oh my gosh, I forgot I have to go to Annie's I'll be right back mom, see you later, It was nice seeing you" I tell Vance and his mom.
I quickly run to my moms car and turn on the engine and begin my little adventure to my old house. I get there ten minutes before Annie and the rest of them come. I quickly sit down on the front porch and take out my phone. Minutes later two cars are in my old drive way.
"Katniss!" I hear Clove scream s she runs to embrace me. I don't hug back. I take notice that Cato isn't here.
"Are you mad?" Johanna asks without further ado.
"So Annie, how was the concert?" I ask ignoring Johanna.
"It was very boring without you but their a very talented band" She says. I bet Johanna and Clove had fun, while I was out there getting raped.
"Is something wrong Katniss?" Finnick asks me as I snap out of my thought.
"Yeah, everything's good" I lie. I notice Gale looking at me suspiciously.
"Where's Cato?" I ask randomly. At least I think I did.
"He's busy writing songs for the band he is the lead singer after all" Finnick say.
"How's Prim?" Marvel asks.
"About that, um," How do I put this?
"I moved" I blurt out.
"What?" Annie and Clove ask at the same time.
"I moved" I say more calmly.
"Why?" Finnick asks.
"Prim needed to go to a different hospital" I say shrugging.
"You could have stayed at my place, there's plenty of space" Annie says. I shrug.
"It was sudden, I didn't want to bother you" I lie. No, I didn't want to see the faces of the people who let me go.
"Your leaving something out" Madge says.
"No I'm not" I say.
"Katniss, we know you" Clove says.
"If you know me so much then why are you asking?" I snap.
"Woah, calm down" Johanna says.
"Calm down? Are you serious? Here's some news for you Jo" I pause emphasizing her nickname.
"While you two let me go all alone to my house cause you went back with that girl, I was raped, ok. And now your telling me to calm the fuck down?" I say my voice rising. They stay still. Slowly taking it in. After a while I rush over to my mothers car and I'm about to reach it when Johanna opens her mouth.
"Well you told us you wanted to go alone" I turn sharply around.
"And if you were a real friend, you wouldn't have let me" I say as I open the car door and turn the engine on. With one last look at them, I drive away. I'm sick of this. I wipe the tears that are streaming down my face.
"Ugh" I groan angrily as I furiously wipe them away.
I'm tired of being weak. Once I get home I quickly run upstairs and take out all the pictures of Johanna, Clove and the rest of the girls and grab some scissors and start to cut them. Ripping them to shreds if I have to. Once I'm done with that I grab a bag and throw all their presents all the things they gave me inside the bag. When I'm done with that I go to my closet and take out all the clothes they let me borrow, all of my clothes and separate them. I put each of them in different bags. I get mine and throw it down the stairs.
"I wanna give these away" I say.
"Why?" My mom asks.
"I want others to have this, I don't need it" I say firmly.
"Ok" She says as she takes it from me.
I quickly run upstairs and throw all the ripped and cut pictures in the trash. I get the bags of their clothes and throw in my moms car. I drive to their houses put the bags on their doorstep and ring the doorbell and drive away.
Silently saying goodbye to the past and welcoming a new future. With Vance.
