Chapter 18: Of Those Long Forgotten Days
'Tomorrow's promise will never come. I wonder how many of tomorrow's promises have disappeared as though they have never existed.'

Explosions rocked the building. "Waah...Wh-What's going on!?" Allen exclaimed as his group struggled to stay upright.
A chuckle echoed in his ear."So nice to see you again, boy~."
Allen activated Crown Clown and swung in the voice's direction. Tyki lept back from the attack, a grin stretched across his tanned face. "Well not bad, boy. But you got to do better then that."
"Ice make, Death Scythe!" Gray jumped through the air and swung the scythe down towards Tyki, who easily saw it coming, let the scythe slice through him without even a scratch. "What?"
Tyki let out a evil laugh. "Do you really think your silly magic will work on me? The Noah of Pleasure?" Teaze came out from his hands, spreading the air full of dark butterflies.
Erza, who was about to attack herself, became busy with the deadly annoying insects. Gray went to help her, freezing most of the butterflies in a swift attack. But no matter how much they destroyed, twice as much would come back in a never-ending cycle.
Leaving Allen to face Tyki alone. "Now that is settled. How about coming over to our side and ditch these weak mages, hm?"
"Never!" Allen charged at Tyki with his exorcism sword. To which the Noah of Pleasure dodged it skillfully.
"Hehe! Red Bomb!"
A huge fireball came hurling towards them through the tight hallway. Erza and Gray jumped out of the way. Allen blocked the incoming shot with his sword, destroying it, but also giving Tyki time to attack him in the process.
Allen slammed into the nearby wall. Tyki approached and looked down with coldness in his eyes. "This time, boy. I'll make sure you don't leave. The Earl really has taken a liking to you."
"Hehehe!"
"Who are you?!" Gray shouted at the newcomers.
It seems the fireball had disintegrated all of Tyki's Teazes. Leaving Gray and Erza to face the newcomers.
"The 11th Noah: Devit."
"The 12th Noah: Jasdero! Hehehe!"
"And together we make up the Noah of Bonds: Jasdevi!" The twins said together.
"Oi, go play somewhere else..." Tyki was now surrounded by a dark aura, angry that his teaze had been destroyed.
"Hai!" The twins then shot at the ground below them and the two fairy tail members, creating a hole to the next floor below, Erza and Gray fell through it with the twins following.
"Erza! Gray!" Allen shouted out, getting up quickly. Tyki then got in his way.
"Why don't you worry about yourself for once, boy~?"
Before he could even counterattack, Allen was sent slamming into another wall, debris now covering the ruined hallway. He slowly stood up, stumbling a bit. "I don't care about the Earl's preference. Everyone has a dream and a wish they want to achieve one day. And no one can take that away!"
"Hm?" Laxus turned towards the direction they had just came from. "I feel some strong magic energy now. Do you think they're fighting?"
"Who cares. We came here for that annoying dragon guy, right?" Kanda answered.
Laxus frowned at him as he followed Kanda further into the corridors. "You're not exactly friendly are you?"
There wasn't a single reply. He sighed, knowing that Kanda was just focusing on the mission. Basically 'while the others distract the enemy go find Natsu and Lucy and then get out of here', was probably what Kanda is thinking right now.
"Heh, you know...you're not really allowed pasted this part."
A door opened below them and they fell into it without warning.
"Lenalee! My dear sweet Lenalee!" Koumi cried over his dear sister, who was now sleeping on the white couch in the piano room. Everyone was watching worried for her.
Bookman glanced at his apprentice, who had been acting strangely since the whole incident, never smiling once and not even leaving the exorcist girl's side. He narrowed his eyes at his sudden apprentice's change in mood, he now seemed all depressed and worried for the girl, something a Bookman doesn't need.
"Lavi." He called out to him. Lavi looked at him with a clear worry and sadness swarming his one green eye. "Go to the library and try to find out more information, I'll stay here and keep an eye on her."
He saw the one last glance Lavi gave her, before following his orders and walking out of the room towards the library. Bookmann didn't blame Lavi for feeling like it was his fault, since they had been there, but Bookman didn't need feelings, and he hoped Lavi realized that soon. Cause if Lenalee really does wake up with different memories and Lavi had never met her in those memories, then he doesn't know if he can handle a heartbroken Bookman Jr.
Maybe if that ever happens, he'll finally learn his lesson and realize we don't need hearts, cause their all too distracting and painful.
Page after page after page, and he still can't forget it. The incident that had happened only hours ago.
Flashback
"Lenalee?" Lavi watched shocked, as Lenalee pushed him away and collapse to the floor. She sat there crying her eyes out, shaking with fear and pain, her eyes all glossy and glass-like. He didn't know how to help her, what to even do. Shock and fear was stopping him from even getting close to her.
"Hel...m-" Her violet eyes closed and she started to fall sideways, without even knowing it he had yelled out her name and grabbed her before she could fall onto the hard ground.
"Lenalee! Wake up!" Lavi sat there with her, holding her close. "...What's wrong?...Why is she...?" A single silent tear slid down his face, much to his confusion, he doesn't understand any of his actions or to the reason why that tear had escape his usually emotionless self.
"Lavi." He looked up to see Bookman standing there. "Take her to the piano room to rest. She's just probably exhausted."
Lavi looked again at her now sleeping face. "Yes...Bookman." He stood up and carried her off, wondering why that single tear has made his heart hurt so painfully.
End Flashback
He knew why Bookman had asked him to come back to the library, not just to find information, but to calm down. 'But how can I calm down when I'm past the point of no return.'
Lavi chuckled, he knows he shouldn't feel worried or scared, that Lenalee is going to probably wake up not herself, but he just can't help it. He has already gained feelings for every one of his comrades, he doesn't think of them as ink but, as friends who care for one another.
That's why Lavi can't turn back into the once emotionless Bookman Jr. The fear of being forgotten by his precious friends, is too much to bear.
