"Don't you fucking dare laugh at me, Joel. I remember when you set off Bill's stupid trap."
"I ain't laughin'," he swore, grinning like an idiot. Ellie scowled, swinging gently by her ankle. Joel's shoulders shook with suppressed laughter. "Guess we've both been human pinatas."
"What the fuck is a pinata?"
He waved the question off and finally moved to get her down, starting to climb up the tree. "How the hell'd this even happen, anyway?"
"I made the mistake of playing with the younger kids. That's all I'm going to say. Could you hurry up? This really kinda hurts."
