Author's notes: Holy hell, I did the thing! I finally finished this chapter! I'm so sorry it took me an eternity to update this story. :( College is cruel and time consuming. Anyway, I will try my absolute best to get another chapter up before spring break is over. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING! You are all fantastic!

By the time Aurora got to the shack the wind had picked up significantly. It whipped around her furiously as she got out of her car.

"There you are, gorgeous. I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up." Alex said walking out of the shack.

Aurora nearly convulsed with disgusted. She loathed everything about him. Right down to the smug smile on his face.

"Where's Elizabeth?" Aurora asked sternly trying to hide the fact that her teeth were chattering.

She didn't fool Alex.

"Poor thing." Alex cooed moving forward until he was standing in front of her. "How's your leg?"

Aurora winced at the mention of her wound.

"Better than ever." She challenged.

Alex laughed lightly.

"Oh really?" He asked stepping closer so there was no room between them.

Aurora tried to step back but her bad leg wouldn't cooperate.

"Really." She said standing her ground.

The end of his lips turned up in a smirk.

"What about if I do this?" Alex asked reaching down to grab her left thigh.

He squeezed hard and Aurora's leg buckled as she fell to the ground with a scream.

"Bastard!" Aurora yelled.

She looked down at her leg and saw a dark red stain on her sweat pants. Alex's grip had been so tight her wound started bleeding again. His eyes ran over her cut before he crouched down beside her and made a tisk noise.

"Aurora, you should know by now you can't lie to me." Alex said stroking her cheek.

She slapped at his hand trying desperately to get away from him.

"Just let Elizabeth go." Aurora pleaded.

Alex gave her a toothy grin before grabbing her by the arms. He pulled her up and pushed her against her car, pressing his body against her.

"I feel like we've been here before." Alex chuckled kissing her neck. He was referring to the day Aurora had found out that Derek was a werewolf. Aurora cringed at the feeling of his lips on her skin and spat in his face. Aurora's action sent a wave of shock over Alex's face but he was quick to recover. Wiping her saliva off his cheek he grinned devilishly before backhanding her. Aurora probably would have fell to the ground because of the force Alex put behind the slap but he was holding her body in place.

"You're disgusting! Let Elizabeth go. She has nothing to do with this." Aurora gritted out.

"I find it both adorable and extremely sad that you actually fell for my bluff." Alex smiled.

"What?" Aurora asked trying to push him away from her with no success. "How could you be bluffing? You knew I called Elizabeth."

"Didn't you know? Elizabeth lost her cell phone at the mall today." Alex said pulling Elizabeth's phone out of his pocket.

"Motherfucker!" Aurora screamed hitting Alex's chest with her fists.

He then tossed Aurora back to the ground like he was swatting away a fly.

"What do you want?!" She yelled trying not to black out from the pain.

"I want Hale to get out of my territory or join my pack." Alex stated. "I'd prefer the latter. What better way to make him fall to beta and join my pack than to make his mate a werewolf?"

Aurora could hear her heartbeat in her ears.

"You want to make me a werewolf?" She asked appalled.

"Making you a werewolf would make you loyal to me." Alex grinned.

"Wait. What?" Aurora inquired. "I would never be loyal to you!"

He walked over to her. She tried to get up but he kicked her in the side to prevent it. Swearing loudly, Aurora rolled to her right and wrapped her arms around herself.

"Have you ever heard of sire boding?" Alex asked.

"Yes." Aurora seethed. "I watch the Vampire Diaries." She said sarcastically trying her hardest to irritate him.

Anger washed over his face as Alex knelt down and made Aurora lie on her back. He then wrapped his hand tightly around her throat, his eyes flashing red.

"That mouth of yours is going to get you in to trouble." He warned.

"Ha! Wouldn't be the first time." Aurora gasped as Alex's grip got tighter.

"When you are sired to me it won't be a problem." Alex threatened.

Aurora shuddered. She was beginning to understand what he was talking about.

"If you turn me, I'll be loyal to you?" She asked.

"Exactly." He smiled not removing his hand from Aurora's neck. "Derek will join my pack to be with you. It's extremely difficult to turn a freshly made werewolf against the one who turned it. Plus, he will want to make sure you know how to control yourself. You're acknowledgement of me as your alpha will force Derek to give in and follow me. I'm sure his puppies with fall in line as well."

"Just kill me. I'd rather be dead than feel a sense of loyalty and obligation to you." Aurora told him harshly.

"If I kill you what would persuade Derek to join my pack?" Alex asked with a chuckle.

"Why do you want Derek in you pack so much?" She asked looking him in the eyes. She knew such an action could be seen as a challenge but she didn't care. If she couldn't fight back physically she could at least piss him off as much as humanly possible. It might not do her a bit of good but it satisfied the hell out of Aurora knowing that there was at least one she could get under Alex's skin.

Alex, immediately noticing Aurora's intent, let out a low, warning growl.

"Do you how difficult it is for alpha wolves to exist in close proximity to each other? A dominate wolf can't ignore the threat it feels when another dominate wolf is around. Derek is better at controlling his urge to fight. Personally, it's all I can do not to rip his throat out every time I see him. If he's one of my betas it would be different." Alex informed her through gritted teeth.

"Why don't you just leave? What's keeping you here?" Aurora inquired.

"And lose to Derek? Never." He growled.

"So this is a matter of pride?!" She yelled making a move to get up only to have Alex slam her head into the dirt beneath her.

"Pride, dominance, and some of it is because I enjoy watching him suffer." He laughed reaching his free hand into Aurora's pocket to grab her cell phone. "Now, let's call your boyfriend, shall we?" Alex teased.

"You're fucking psychotic!" She screamed in his face.

Alex gave her a wink before going through her phone. He scrolled through the contact list until he found Derek's number.

"Mountain Man?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Go to hell." Aurora spat.

Alex then leaned forward to kiss Aurora on the lips. She wiggled underneath his grip trying to break free but she couldn't make him budge.

"I hope Derek beats the hell out of you!" Aurora yelled when Alex broke the kiss and dialed Derek's number.

Chuckling, he put the phone on speaker so Aurora could hear. Derek answered after a couple of rings.

"Hey Princess." Derek greeted cheerfully.

"Princess? How cute." Alex mocked.

"Alex." Derek snarled. "Where's Aurora?"

"She's right here. Don't get so angry. Aurora love, say hi to Derek." Alex cooed.

"Derek!" Aurora yelled.

She was going to tell him not to listen to Alex because she was sure whatever he was planning was a trap but she didn't get a chance. Alex's fist met her jaw before she could say anything and knocked her out cold.

Aurora regained consciousness just in time to witness Derek and Alex shift into their wolf forms. She watched through blurry eyes as Derek snarled and lunged toward Alex. Aurora tried to move but every inch of her body was sore. She heard a loud growl and focused her eyes on Derek. Alex had caught him by the throat and Aurora saw blood gush from Derek's neck. Derek clawed at Alex's eyes forcing the wolf to let go. Derek staggered for a moment but recovered and jumped on Alex. He knocked the brown wolf on his back and bit his stomach. Alex howled rolling over to his feet once more. This time it was Derek that went for Alex's neck. He caught Alex just below his jaw biting down hard. Once Derek was securely latched onto Alex he shook the wolf fiercely. Aurora heard the snap of bone as Derek broke Alex's neck. She watched in horror as Derek dropped Alex to the ground and fell to his side.

Aurora tried with all her might but she couldn't stop herself from throwing up.

When her stomach finally settled down she crawled over to Derek.

"Der? Open your eyes. Derek look at me!" She said urgently.

Still in wolf form Derek whimpered.

"Derek? Can you change back? I need to know if you are okay." Aurora cried.

Her leg was still bleeding and it felt like her jaw was on fire. Listening to her plea, Derek slowly sat up and shifted. When he was in human form Aurora saw that the skin from his neck was torn and he was bleeding badly.

"I'm okay. I'm okay. It will take a while to heal." He winced.

Aurora buried her face in his chest as they laid there for several minutes trying to collect themselves.

"I didn't want to kill him." Derek told her in a quiet tone.

Aurora could hear the pain in his voice.

"I know, baby. It wasn't your fault. He would have never left us alone." Aurora said trying to comfort him as best she could.

"We need to go." He told her getting up slowly.

He helped her stand up and they hobbled over to their cars.

"Neither of us can drive." Aurora said.

"I'll call Laura." Derek told her. "You still have that blanket in your car?"

He had shifted in his clothes and they were in pieces on the ground. Aurora nodded her head yes letting a small sigh pass through her lips. Derek sat her on the hood of the Prius before grabbing the keys from the ignition and getting the blanket he had used once before from the trunk.

"What are we going to do about him?" Aurora grimaced motioning to Alex's lifeless body.

He was still in the form of a wolf so the sight didn't irk Aurora as much as a human body probably would have. However, Alex being a wolf didn't stop the nauseous feeling she had in her stomach.

"I'll deal with him." Derek said somberly.

Aurora felt so terrible for Derek. Psychopath or not, Aurora knew it must bother Derek that he had to kill Alex. Aurora didn't even want to think about how guilty Derek probably felt. Not to mention the burden of taking someone's life. When Derek walked back over to her, Aurora wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled him close to her. He hugged her back tightly.

"I love you Derek. I'm so sorry." Aurora sobbed.

"You have nothing to be sorry about Aurora. Alex had made it a point to hurt you to get to me. I couldn't let that happen. I love you. And I don't regret doing something that saved your life." Derek said softly.

When Aurora calmed down Derek went to grab his cell phone from the Camaro and called Laura.

It was a short conversation.

"Why didn't the pack come with you? Why wasn't Alex's pack with him?" Aurora asked.

"I didn't want to put my pack at risk so I didn't tell them where I was going." Derek confessed. "As for Alex's pack, I have no idea. All I can think is that Tara is still in no condition to fight. Alex would want someone to be with her so he probably told Randal and Arthur to watch over her in case I sent my pack to retaliate."

Aurora felt a pain shot through her heart. She couldn't image how Tara would feel when she found out about Alex. Aurora thought about how if the roles were reversed she didn't think she could handle the heartbreak.

"Aurora, stop. You are going to make yourself sick." Derek told her.

He must have heard her heart beat pick up.

"Tara is going to be devastated." Aurora said wiping a tear from her eye.

Derek could only nod.

"Der-…Derek if…if that was you…I wouldn't know…" Aurora began but she couldn't hold back the sob welling in her throat. She was in agony from the wound on her leg and the nauseous feeling pooling in her stomach was too much for her to handle. She stayed conscious long enough to see the panicked look on Derek's face as he cradled her body in his arms as she passed out.
