Sam's Point of view
I woke earlier than Anna and slid out of bed softly I got up and went and cooked her bacon and egg breakfast with juice. I heard her wake so I walked into my room and saw her again lying down in pain and trying to get up and hide it. I got the balm from the bathroom and got her to lye down on her stomach again, I pulled up her shirt and applied the balm hearing a small sigh once it was applied. I knew she would be in even more pain today because of the stiches, I pulled down her shirt quickly and I picked her up without asking and placed her on the stool so she could eat on the bar. She just played with the food and refused to eat it. Eventually I had to sit next to her and make her eat every bite. I got out some Panadol in front of her so she would take it and she took it gladly.
"Why?" I heard her small voice ask me and I knew she was asking why was I doing all this for her
"It's a wolf thing, it doesn't happen with everyone but when it does happen we like helping them." I said shrugging it off like it was no big deal. It was clear she was still confused but she didn't press the issue.
The phone rang and it was Jacob telling me that the Cullens would be back tomorrow and that it would probably be best if Anna stayed at my place for the rest of the time and that they would be around to drop off her stuff, I agreed instantly and told him that the boys where allowed around as usual.
I turned around to see Anna finishing her juice.
Ever since she was caught she had being very disconnected and only speaking when spoken too and never quite engaging, it was like her spirit was broken all I wanted to was comfort her.
We both turned when we heard the door open, Bella and Jacob walked in with Anna's stuff that they put at the door. Anna went to get up but I pushed her back down gently, but she didn't stay down, instead she used my arm to help herself sit up. Bella started glaring at Anna and Anna didn't even bother glare back, which surprised her. While I was distracted Anna stood up and walked over and collected her bag and walked into the bathroom to get changed. I saw her walk out of the bathroom, and I rushed over to her picking her up and went to carry her out side, but she started fighting me so I looked at her.
"Enough, you can't walk at the moment, it's not embarrassing." I said to her firmly, slightly using my alpha tone. She stopped fighting and wrapped her legs round my waist and held onto my shirt using my hands. I walked out the back to my garage in the woods with Jacob and Bella. Bella kept falling so they fell behind and within minutes in the walk Anna had gone asleep on my shoulder. I noticed because she was so small she only took a fraction of a normal amount of medication to affect her. So when I gave her something to help with the pain it put her to sleep. Once I reached the shed I sat down on the couch and she curled up on my chest with a slight smile on her face. I talked to Jacob about the cars for a while and Bella even managed a slight smile at Anna because she looked like a kid again. I walked back through the forest carrying Anna and sat at home for a while just holding her, when she started to stir so I put her back into my bed because waking up on my chest would be a little bit much for her.
I started making a salad and I heard that she had woken up I knocked on the door then entered, she didn't even try to get up when I entered. I got the antibacterial balm and made her stay on her belly, it was going to hurt even more than last night, her whole back had gotten red, angry and was discharging an ooze. She probably needed a numbing needle, but I was going to test a small part that wasn't that bad. I put a very small dab on her skin and immediately she yelped, went to turn around and get away from me, she kicked her legs and moved her arms trying to get away, but I held her still feeling bad I had done that to her. I picked her up and hugged her to comfort her she hid her face in my shirt and I felt a damp spot form from her tears. I walked into the bathroom still carrying her. I picked up the first aid bag and walked back into my room, I went to put her down again but she held on to me, fearing that I would try and put that cream on again.
"Don't worry, I am not going to put that cream on yet, I am going to numb your back then put it on." I said comforting her. I gently laid her back down, I got the cream out and put it on her back before I had to hold her down gently to numb her back. Once her whole back was numb I cleaned her wounds with Dettol before applying the cream, I put it on super thick so it was like a bandage, then I covered it in a bandage so it could soak for a few hours. I lifted her up and carried her out to the counter; she started stretching her back by twisting it, before I stopped her, warning her it would do more harm then good.
I finished the salad and gave her a bowl, but no matter how much I prompted her. When Quill and Embry came in I finally gave up.
"Is he trying to force you to eat rabbit food?" Quill asked Anna jokingly, who smiled in response.
"Here eat this." Quill said and chucking Anna a mars bar who caught it flawlessly. I went to take it off her but she tried to hold it out of my range and gave me a puppy dog eye look.
"Fine, you can have it, after you have finished your salad." I said to her then Quill piped up again
"Aww come on Sam let her have some." Quill said as I took it off her and Anna gave me the puppy-dog look again.
I sighed and broke off a small piece of chocolate for her and gave it to her, she quickly started chewing on it savoring every bite, I got her a glass of milk that she drunk easily along with some Panadol. Within the next five minutes she was having a sugar rush, she started bouncing on her chair, walking on her stiches and playing with her bandages. She got a pair of scissors from the kitchen, and was about to take out her stiches before I took them out of her hands quickly and held her hands together.
"You are not taking your stiches, they are staying in until I say they can." I told her firmly making sure she was listening.
"But they are annoying." She complained
"I don't care, you aren't meant to be walking anyway." I told her but she pouted sulking.
I left her alone for a minute letting her sulk and watching her from the corner of my eye, she turned a nasty shade of green before bolting to the bathroom, where I heard her vomiting. I unlocked the bathroom door and saw Anna vomiting in the toilet bowl, I held her hair and she jumped a bit and tried to push me out but I had none of it, I started rubbing her back gently and once she was finished I lifted her up placing her on a stool so she could brush her teeth. She looked annoyed with herself.
"What's wrong?" I asked her
"I thought I could have at least a little piece of sugar without vomiting." Anna said disappointed.
"Don't worry about it." I said trying to comfort her, once she had brushed her teeth I picked her up and took her back into the kitchen I sat her down briefly making her take some Panadol with water. I picked her up and took her into my room and laid her down removing her bandage and seeing that her infection has cleared up. I picked her up to go out into the lounge room again, but she was just awake and by the time I got to the lounge room she was asleep on my shoulder. I sat down and she curled up on my chest like before, I subconsciously brushed her hair with my fingers, while talking with Embry and Quill.
She didn't wake up for dinner and everyone came over for dinner so I told them to order pizza again so I didn't have to disturb Anna. They all ate happily and smiled at Anna who was sleeping with a smile on her face.
She slept through the whole night on my chest.
Just before she woke I placed her in my bed.
I started cooking her bacon and eggs for breakfast because apparently the Cullen's where picking Anna and Bella up at the treaty line at 10:00.
I just had three hours left with her…
When she woke she came walking out, sitting herself on the sofa away from where she normally eats.
"You know you aren't meant to be walking you know." I said kindly at her
"Do you really think that I would put up with bloodsuckers carrying me?" Anna said in disgust.
I understood her argument but she had to make peace with them, so I just nodded slightly. I told her to come up to the bar, I watched her walk she looked completely normal and showed no sign of being in pain. I put the food in front of her and ate mine next to her, I prompted her to eat like yesterday but she didn't touch her food again.
"If you don't eat breakfast I am telling Carsile." I said to her knowing she hated him, it was a low blow, but eating wasn't optional, especially when they missed lunch and dinner the day before.
She narrowed her eyes at me and ate slowly, and the absolute minimum I would allow her to have.
While she was eating I quickly checked her back and stiches making sure they where healing nicely, their was no more infections and no sign of any infection coming.
Anna and I watched a movie and by the time it was over, we had to get to the treaty line. I insisted I carry her bag out to the car. Once she was in the car, I handed her a piece of paper with a mobile number on it.
"This is my number, no matter what time of day or night, I will answer, no matter what every reason you want to ring I am fine with anything." I said to Anna who looked at me weirdly then nodded.
"Anna promise me." I said to her seriously tilting her head so she looked me in the eyes, her eyes where hard, stone and cold last time I looked at them, but now I saw cracks, her troubles starting to show.
"I promise." She mumbled quietly.
I smiled at her and ruffled her hair causing her to glare at me. I drove to the treaty line meeting up with Jake and Bella, when we where there, Edward, jasper and Carsile where there like last time. I helped Anna get her bags out and I walked to the line to meet up with Carsile.
"Hi Anna, did you have a good time." Jasper asked
Anna nodded slightly and shrugged.
"Why don't you go put your bags in the car." I said kindly smoothing out her hair with my hand.
She smiled at me and nodded picking up her bags and going to the car.
"What happened?" Jasper said almost as quickly as she left
I gave them a quick rundown on what happened. They where all shocked and surprised. Buy the time Anna came back they had recovered, and followed my lead of how to talk to her, she got in the car when requested and still didn't engage in conversations.
I watched her drive away wondering when I would see her again.
