Chapter twenty-one
Aragorn's coronation was extravagantly beautiful. Minas Tirith had been repaired and the sun shone upon them with great happiness. It was as if someone had turned the sun on them simply to lighten the mood. Of course, there was still time for mourning those who had lost their lives to save Middle Earth.
Arwen and Aragorn had also announced their engagement and were looking forward to being married. It was then, that Sirius got it in his head for a triple wedding.
"Sirius!" Eowyn scolded. "I'm sure Aragorn and Arwen want their own wedding. I'm sure Hermione and Legolas also want their own wedding, too." She gave him a pointed look.
He coloured slightly, and Hermione laughed with Arwen as he apologised. It was quite comical to see Sirius Black apologise.
"Well, as long as I marry him, it doesn't matter, now does it?" Arwen said, casting a find look at her fiancé, who was currently conversing lightly with Legolas.
"Hey Sirius, you realise, don't you, that you happen to be the only one of the men, partaking in the conversation of weddings." Hermione pointed out. "Aren't you afraid you'll be less… manly?" She smirked as a look of alarm came over Sirius' face.
"Ahem, well then, let's move on. When are we going back to Earth? To tell the other lot?" He asked. "Oh, and invite them to the weddings?"
Hermione thought for a minute. "Can we activate it at any moment?" She asked curiously. He nodded, wondering what she was thinking about, when she continued. "What about right now?" She asked suddenly.
Sirius looked at her like she was bonkers, but then, when he thought about it… "Alright. Get your other half, and I've got mine. Let's go."
Eowyn laughed as he pulled her against him dramatically. "Hold on, are you sure you just want to… introduce us, so suddenly?" She asked with a slight bit of fear in her voice.
Sirius laughed. "That lot don't get surprised that easily. And don't worry, love, they'll love you." He said affectionately. "But not as much as I do, or there'll be trouble." He grinned as she laughed and smacked him lightly on the chest, kissing him on the cheek.
"Aragorn, I'm sorry, but my fiancé needs to come with me. We're going to Earth to invite our friends to our weddings." She suddenly stopped and turned to Sirius. "When are the weddings?" She asked.
He chuckled. "I have no clue, darlin'," Sirius said pensively. "Maybe four weeks from now?" He asked, looking to Eowyn and Legolas for confirmation. They all nodded, grinning. "Now, the question is, dearest people and elves, is it a triple wedding?" He asked, looking pointedly at Arwen and Aragorn, as they moved to stand next to one another.
"Well, since Aragorn is a king, maybe we should allow them to have a gigantic ceremony fit for royalty." Hermione suggested.
"Actually," Arwen began, smiling up at Aragorn. "I think I'd like to have a triple wedding with our friends. I would like to meet the friends that Hermione and Sirius talk so highly about." She smiled at them all as Aragorn nodded, smiling at Arwen affectionately.
Hermione beamed. "Brilliant." Sirius readily agreed with her and Eowyn rolled her eyes at him as he refused to let her out of his grip. "Oh, Arwen, Aragorn, why don't you come with us? It would be fantastic. We could show you our world, and buy some things to bring back here. Like wedding dresses and things like that." Hermione suggested.
Arwen agreed with a smile and Aragorn held onto his fiancé, as if to say I go where you go.
"Alright, then everyone, hold on to me somehow." Hermione commanded, as she pointed her wand at the pendant in her hand. She directed a random spell at it and instantly it felt as if they were apparating.
They all landed with a thud, and Hermione found that the pendant had disappeared from her hands. She looked around and with delight she noted they were standing in her apartment in Hogsmeade. "Welcome to our world." She announced.
Everyone else looked around and Sirius recognised the place. "Is this your apartment, Hermione?" He asked.
"Yeah, how'd you know? You've never been here." She asked.
"I watch from up there. Honestly, I can see whatever I want. Hell, I could have spied on you while you were naked." He joked.
Hermione made a face. "You better not have spied on me, Sirius." She warned.
"No." He chuckled. "They won't let you up there. It's a crime, or something." He laughed at her face of relief.
"Alright, come on, then. We'd better go see some people." She said, heading to the door. As she opened the door there was a loud bang and they were suddenly surrounded by witches and wizards with their wands at the ready.
Everybody froze.
One of the aurors stepped forward, lowering his wand. "Hermione?" It was Harry with his messy black hair and sparkling green eyes.
"Harry!" She cried and flung her arms around him. "Oh my God! You'll never believe what happened to me!" She exclaimed. At this point, the other aurors lowered their own wands and a redheaded man stepped forward. "Ron!" Hermione hugged him, too. They were grinning like crazy and everyone else simply watched.
"We were so worried about you, Hermione." Ron informed. "We thought you'd been kidnapped by death eaters. We saw your office and it was just horrible. Luna and Gin were distraught."
Harry gave the other aurors the okay signal and they disaparated. "Where did you go?" Harry asked. "Are you okay? Nobody hurt you, did they?"
Hermione laughed. "Calm down Harry. I have a few scars, but I'll tell everyone about it when we get to Grimmauld place. But right now, I want you to meet someone. Well, a few people, actually." She led Harry and Ron over to where Legolas, Aragorn, Eowyn and Arwen were standing, looking confused. All except one.
"Hello Harry, Ron. How's it?" Sirius said, coming to the front, Eowyn's fingers laced with his.
Harry and Ron's eyes just about popped out of their heads at the sight of the supposedly deceased Sirius Black. "S-Sirius?" Harry stuttered out. "Is t-that you?"
Sirius nodded and Harry leapt forward, embracing his godfather. "It's good to see you, too, Harry." Sirius laughed.
"But-But how?" Ron asked, slightly paler than normal.
"Long story, but we'll cut it short with one word, mate; magic." Sirius told them.
"I don't care what it is, it's brilliant." Harry declared. "I'm so glad you're back, Sirius, we've all missed you so much!" He hugged his godfather again.
Sirius paused, casting Hermione a look asking for help. "Actually, Harry…" Hermione began. "We're not staying." She squared her shoulders as Harry stiffened. "You see –"
He cut her off. "You're not staying? What do you mean?"
"We came here to invite you to the wedding." Hermione said, not realising how it sounded.
Ron and Harry were silent for a second and it made Hermione and Sirius nervous. "Wedding?" Ron squeaked.
"You and Sirius are getting married?!" Harry yelled. "When did you decide this?!"
"NO!" Hermione said loudly. "Not me and Sirius, Harry. Calm down. Yes, I am getting married, and yes, Sirius is getting married as well, but to different people." She told them calmly. "Which is why I'd like you to meet –" Legolas came to her side and pulled her close by the waist.
"Is that Malfoy?!" Ron exclaimed. "DRACO MALFOY WITH LONG HAIR?"
"Shut UP, Ronald." Hermione said, frustrated now. "This is Legolas." She told them. "My fiancé." She looked up at the blonde affectionately.
Harry and Ron blinked.
"And this is my fiancé, Eowyn." Sirius said, pulling Eowyn closer to him, much like Legolas had done with Hermione. "We came to invite you to our triple wedding."
"Triple wedding?" Ron squeaked again.
"Oh! Yes, Arwen and Aragorn are getting married, too." Hermione pointed out, gesturing to the couple, who stood side by side, looking regal. Hermione cast Sirius a nervous glance. "Maybe we should gather everyone here, so we can explain and you can hear the whole story." She suggested.
Harry and Ron agreed, summoning Ginny, Luna, the Weasley Clan (which included: Molly, Arthur, Fred, George, Charlie, Bill, Fleur and Victoria), and the Lupins (which included: Tonks, Remus and Teddy) to Hermione's apartment. After all of the greetings and exclamations of surprise were over, Hermione began the tale of saving Middle Earth. Once this was complete, everyone sat in silence, mulling it over in their minds.
Finally, Ginny spoke up. "Wow." She breathed. Everyone nodded in agreement. "So, you're getting married, Hermione?" Ginny grinned.
Hermione nodded and beamed back at her, holding on to Legolas' hand. "And you're all invited. We want you to come to Middle Earth for our wedding. We'd appreciate it." She told them sincerely.
Molly smiled in her motherly way, and enveloped Hermione in a hug. "Of course, dear. We wouldn't have it any other way."
"But how will we all get there?" Arthur asked. "It's not like we could just all join hands; we've got too many people."
"He has a point." Remus put in.
"Well, there are two of us who know how to use it." Sirius said. "Hermione and myself. How many people is that each?"
"Seven and a half each, including your fiancés and friends." George said.
"That's still too many. We'll end up splinching ourselves." Sirius said.
"Maybe we could make return journeys?" Hermione said.
"No, it would take too much energy out of you both." Molly said.
"You could teach a couple of us responsible adults to use it. That way, when it returns here, we can each take our group across." Charlie said, casting a pointed glance at Fred and George.
"Alright, I guess we could do that." Hermione said. "I'll take back the Middle Earth people. Sirius, you can take Harry, Ron, Ginny and Luna. Charlie, you take Molly, Arthur and the twins. Bill you can take your family, and Remus, you take yours. Has everyone got that?"
There was a chorus of positive responses and Ron stood up. "Right, let's go." He announced.
"Ronald," Luna said with a laugh. "They want to stay a few days. You know; to show their friends around, and shop for things from this world. More specifically, wedding dresses for Arwen and Eowyn." She told them.
Hermione smiled. "Thank you, Luna. I figured I would wear a wedding dress from Middle Earth and you two could pick one each from here." She explained to Arwen and Eowyn, who just smiled and nodded.
"Right." Mrs. Weasley stood up abruptly. "Shall we get you girls shopping? The sooner we get into the other world, the sooner we can talk wedding plans." She sad, always the organiser.
Arwen smiled. "Oh, my father will love you." She said to Mrs. Weasley.
Mrs. Weasley simply beamed and launched into action.
