Chapter 21: Skylar's special gifts

It took a while for all the kids to recover since the abductions. They hardly spoke to each other since the incident. They were all still pretty shaken up by the experience, especially Skylar, since she got it real bad. Most of the time that week, she stayed in her room, not ready to face any of her friends yet. This made Tori worried. She was aware of what Skylar was going through, and what she went through when Blake held her hostage, but this was making her really anti social.

On Friday, Tori walked up to Skylar's room to talk to her, to hopefully get her to opened up. As soon as she made it to the door, she knocked on it.

"Sky... sweetie, can I come in?" She asked softly.

There wasn't a response for about five seconds until Tori heard a small. "Sure."

With that, Tori opened the door and quietly walked in to see her daughter lying face down on her bed. Tori walked over the bed and sat down. She gently rubbed Skylar's back soothingly and the ten-year-old sat up. Her eyes were red and tears were staining her cheeks, so Tori could tell she was crying. "How do you feel?" She asked her daughter.

Skylar looked at her mother with a frown. "What does it look like?! I feel awful!" She snapped. Tori jumped a little, not expecting a harsh reply.

"Skylar... I know you're still pretty shaken up by being kidnapped and everything. But it's over now... it's over..."

"Yeah. The kidnapping is over. But what about the pain? What about the suffering I had to go through? What about the memory that will never go away?!"

"I know... and-"

"NO! YOU DON'T KNOW, MOM!" Skylar shouted, now standing. Now Tori was really disturbed. She had never seen her daughter so upset and angry. "THAT... THAT... THAT MONSTER BEAT ME, TORTURED ME, AND HURT ME IN WAYS I CAN'T EXPLAIN! I KEEP GETTING NIGHTMARES BECAUSE OF HIM! I COULD HAVE DIED BECAUSE OF HIM! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT I WENT THROUGH! NOBODY DOES!"

With a shuddered gasped, Skylar fell back on her bed, sobbing uncontrollably. Tori resumed rubbing her back softly, trying to think of how to respond to her outburst. She had never heard her daughter yell like that. And what was even more disturbing, it that it reminded Tori of when days after she was rescued by Jake, she was outraged to find out that the villain had escaped, and she yelled at her father for it.

"Skylar... I totally understand what you went through... because I went through the same thing." Tori started softly. This made Skylar wiped her tears away and look at her mother. "You do?" She asked. "No way."

Tori nodded. "Yeah. I know it's hard to believe, but I was kidnapped when I was a teenager by that very same boy... he tortured me... he tried to kill me... but Jake saved my life... my taking three bullets to the side, arm, and head."

"Just like you took a bullet for him when you saved me?"

"That's right. So we've both had experiences that are hard to forget. And I know things may not be as they seemed before... but soon... everything will be okay... I won't let anything like this happen to you ever again... the memory might not go away... but the pain will..."

Skylar had to think about this. She knew her mother was right... but would the pain really go away?

"Do you really think the pain will go away, Mom?" She asked for reassurance.

Tori just shrugged. "Maybe not for a while... but it will..."

The ten-year-old hugged her mother, glad that she was there to make her feel better.

"You know, honey... you haven't seen your friends in a while... why don't we go see them tomorrow night...?"

"... Okay... I guess so... I hope they've gotten over this..."

"It's still gonna take a while, Sky. It's only been a week."

"I know..."

With that, Tori left Skylar's room to give her some more time to herself. As for Skylar, she kept thinking about Blake... about why he did this... and about why he tried to break her apart.

He seems very tough... but hopefully this will be the only time he does this... hopefully.

The next night. Skylar, for the first time in a few days, felt happy. She and her friends were having the party of a lifetime at her house. It was only Saturday, but the kids were wilding out like there was no tomorrow. They spent most of the time in Skylar's room, while their parents were downstairs talking.

As the kids had fun, they couldn't but ask Skylar about her experience as a hostage.

"So Sky... how was it when... you know...?" Aaron asked.

"Yeah, what did he do to you?" Mickey asked.

The others chimed in with questions about Skylar in which she quieted them down. "Relax guys... well, he did abuse me... and hurt me in ways I can't explain... and I really don't wanna talk about it."

Her friends understood, aware of the vicious head boss. "It's okay, Skylar. We understand." Brandon told her.

"By the way, what happened to the head boss anyway?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah, where is he now?" Katie asked.

"Hopefully in jail where he belongs." Taliya added.

Skylar shook her head. "Not exactly. He got chased away by the crocodile is what my mom told me. I don't think he's dead, but Jake said that he shouldn't be bothering us for a long long time now."

The kids couldn't help but giggle when they heard her say Blake got chased away by the crocodile, but they were still pretty worried. They all had the feeling that he may come back for them. But if he did... they would be ready for him.

"Kids! Come down stairs. I've got something for you."

With that, the kids ran out of the room and downstairs, where their parents, along with the Never Crew, were waiting in the living room. Tori smiled as she walked up to her daughter. "Skylar... I have a surprise for you..."

Tori then held out Skylar's pear phone. It was all fixed up and repaired. Skylar gasped as she took it. "My phone... it's good as new now. Thanks, Mom."

"Oh... don't thank me. Thank Jake. He fixed it with his Destiny Sword." She smiled at the pirate boy, who blushed in return. Skylar ran over to him and hugged him. "Thank you, Jake. Thank you so much!" She whispered, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Jake's blushing got deeper as he hugged the girl in return. "The pleasure is all mine dear." He responded.

Soon, Skylar let Jake go as Ross showed her the golden microphone she got for her birthday. "Sky-Sky... how about a song for us?" He asked. That's when the others joined in to tell Skylar that they wanted her to sing. Skylar, apparently happy, agreed.

After taking her mic, she began to sing some of the songs that her father and mother wrote when they were younger. Including 'Make it Shine'. There was music, and everybody danced as the ten year old sung. As she belted out the last note, everyone cheered for her. Skylar bowed. She really felt proud of herself right now.

"Great! Now I'm gonna share my big surprise with all of you." Tori announced.

Everyone listened carefully. What did Tori have to say?

"Skylar... Ally..." Tori started. "How do you feel about having a little sibling?" As she said that, she rubbed her stomach. That's when Skylar knew what her mother was talking about. "You mean... you're gonna have a baby?" She asked.

Tori nodded with a smile. Everyone then cheered, and congratulated the family.

"He should be expected to arrive by February." Ross said.

"It's a boy?" Skylar asked.

Again, a happy nod.

Skylar was so happy, that she picked up her sister and danced around with her in the room. "We're gonna have a little brother, Ally!" She told the toddler, who giggled in response. Jake was happy, when he suddenly remember what he had for Skylar.

"Wait a minute... I have something else for Skylar." He announced. The preteen stopped dancing and put her sister down. She walked over to the pirate boy as he held up his Destiny Sword. "What is it, Jake?" She asked.

Jake smirked, and put his sword on Skylar's forehead. "Just stand real still." Was all he said.

With that, the sword began to glow. After about ten seconds, the glow died down, and Jake took his sword off of a confused Skylar. "I don't get it... what happened?" She asked.

"Hold out your hand." Jake told her. And that's what she did as she saw a golden yellow glow around it. Everyone else saw it and was amazed. "Skylar Selena Judith Moon... you now have the powers of Destiny." Jake announce. Skylar was shocked. Powers? She had powers now?

"Wow..." Was all she said.

Tori couldn't help but smile. Her daughter now had special powers. Now, if only she knew how to use them. "Now will she use them?" The woman asked.

"Simple. If anyone needs help, Sky can use her powers to help them. But she must be careful with them, or else she may overpower herself." Jake answered.

The ten-year-old nodded in understanding. "Okay... I understand." She said while looking at her hands. This was a very great night. She was gonna have a baby brother, she had Destiny powers, and everything would be okay.

Well, that was a fun night. Wasn't it? And that mother and daughter moment at the beginning. So sweet. Only one more chapter after this, and then the sequel shall come later. But I will post the first chapter of J&TS 3 this month before it ends. Until then, here's two more trivia question.

What did Tori do to provoke Blake with anger in Chapter 37?

What is the name of the pizza restaurant that the gang goes to in Chapter 26, and what real life pizza restaurant is it based off of?

Well, that's it for this chapter. I'll see you guys later, and don't forget to review, please. Thank you.
