Chapter thirty one
The third task
Dumbledore reckons You-Know-Who's getting stronger...permission to use the empty Transfiguration classroom at lunchtimes.
"Haha.. She always breaks at the end" James said, a little too fondly, Lily noticed.
Harry had soon mastered the Impediment Curse, ... therefore enabling him to check whether he was going in the right direction within the maze.
"Hmm, that's a brilliant idea" Remus agreed.
He was still having trouble with the Shield Charm, though... then we can turn our attention to other matters.
"Don't take risks" Lily snorted "Didn't knew you had it in you to give good advice." Sirius stuck out his tongue "Told you I'd be a great Godfather."
Harry's nerves mounted...It was only a piece of parchment, folded over and bearing a muddy paw print on its front,
"Awwwe, that's cute" Lily cooed. "I'm not cute" Sirius replied seriously.
but Harry appreciated it all the same. A screech owl arrived... which casts doubts upon his suitability to compete in a demanding competition like the Triwizard Tournament, or even to attend Hogwarts School.
Sirius started laughing. James and Lily simultaneously glared at him. He held up his hands in surrender.
Potter, the Daily Prophet can exclusively reveal, regularly collapses at school...We think he'd do anything for a bit of power."
No one was laughing now.
Parseltongue, the ability to converse with snakes, has long been considered a Dark Art... This is simply a chance for you to greet them." She moved away.
"Maybe I'm coming again" Sirius said hopefully. Ginny shook her head.
Harry gaped after her... Then he saw Mrs. Weasley and Bill standing in front of the fireplace, beaming at him.
Lily smiled.
"Surprise!" Mrs. Weasley said excitedly as he smiled broadly and walked over to them...they're all called stuff like Bodrod the Bearded and Urg the Unclean; it wasn't hard."
They all laughed.
Fred, George, and Ginny came to sit next to them too,...Harry could hear its rattling breath; he felt clammy coldness stealing over him, but knew what he had to do. . . .
"What? They put a dementor in the maze, that's not possible, they are students not prisoners!" Remus exclaimed.
He summoned the happiest thought he could, concentrated with all his might on the thought of getting out of the maze and celebrating with Ron and Hermione, raised his wand,... he ran away from the golden mist, which twinkled innocently at him in the moonlight.
"Whoa, cool! We've got to learn that! Great for pranks" Sirius said. Other marauders agreed.
He paused at a junction of two paths and looked around for some sign of Fleur...And then Harry heard Krum's voice. "Crucio!"
"I knew it, that Durmstrang shit was no good for Hogwarts!" Sirius said.
The air was suddenly full of Cedric's yells...Cedric's footsteps soon died away.
"Why do I have a bad feeling about Cedric meeting him again and again." Remus said.
Harry moved on, continuing to use the Four-Point Spell, ... so will you move, please?" said Harry, knowing what the answer was going to be.
Lily snorted, imagining James give would same reaction in such a situation.
"No," she said, continuing to pace... amazed at his own brilliance, he dashed forward.
Lily was amazed. Even she wasn't able to work that out.
He had to be close now, he had to be... That's twice you've saved my neck in here."
"Wow his idiotic heroic ways actually work" Sirius snorted. But secretly he knew James would have done the same and he admired him for that.
"That's not how it's supposed to work," Harry said... swirling color, Cedric at his side.
Lily groaned. "Can't we bunk the next class, I wanna read further."
Everyone stared at her as if she'd grown two heads. "What? I bunk classes too" Lily said getting self conscious. "You are so cute, but its transfiguration, I don't wanna miss it" James said pinching her cheek. Lily rubbed it and glared at him. "Ofcourse you don't, its McG after all" she muttered but James didn't hear her because he was already on his way to class with a hand over Sirius' shoulder. Other two laughed silently behind her and Lily gave them a glum look. She'd no choice but to follow James and so she did.
A/n- Next chapter would be last for this book... I've already started fifth... So until next time...
