A/N: I'm killing myself. T.T Aaaaaah.
It didn't take long enough for the trio to arrive at the place Totsuka was talking about. It was not really a sight to behold because it was the usual riverbank that they see everyday. But Totsuka assured them that there's something more to it.
"Any minute now."
The sun was setting, the blue of the sky was starting to be suffused by orange and red tinges and the more the sun hides itself, the more Totsuka beams. His smile makes Mikoto feel a bit odd but the redhead doesn't mind it nor does he try to purposely intimidate the kid. He looks over to Totsuka's smiling face to try to figure out what the kid was thinking, but he was never good at that kind of thing so he looks away and transfers his sight at the sky. Izumo was lying on the grass, his head propped up on his arms and his blond hair waving in the wind. He was waiting for Totsuka's signal to look up at the sky. Totsuka stirs and then he lively pointed to the sky.
"Look!"
Izumo's eyes opened and then they saw it, the sky tinged with orange with highlights of red, and the silhouette of the birds as they flew away looked magnificent. Mikoto also found it beautiful. The two of them never really bothered to take a closer look at the sky, it was the first time they bathed in the beauty of nature.
"Isn't it beautiful? I've always loved this view and I'm happy that I was able to share this with you."
Izumo smiled while Mikoto slumped on the grass and curled to the side. The sight affected him much more than Totsuka could imagine. He remembered the times he spends after school waiting for Reishi without any reason. Just waiting for him and ending up going home because his actions feel awkward and alien to himself. That was before he mustered the courage to actually come up to him and share his afternoons with him. His breathe caught up in his throat and his heart ached. It's been a long time since they spent time together, it's been a long time since he touched and held him. The cawing of birds from the distance made him want to run back to the school and check whether or not Reishi was still there. He clenched his fists and stood up. Without saying a word he walked away hefting his bag on his back and then when he reached a few meters away from the group he sprinted.
"Mikoto-san?"
Totsuka was perplexed, he didn't know what came over Mikoto to just ran away like that. Izumo said nothing. He knew. Totsuka tried to stand and follow Mikoto but Izumo grabbed him by the arm.
"Let him go."
Totsuka felt the pressure of Izumo's trembling fingers on his skin. And then he knew too. Totsuka smiled and lied down on the grass beside Izumo. Totsuka draped his arms on his belly and just gazed at the sky. The wind blew colder as the sun slowly set on the horizon. They were silent for a while. Totsuka was perceptive enough to know what was going on. He looks over to Izumo and finds the blond closing his eyes.
"Aren't you going to ask me something?" The older Blond asked. His voice hesitant and soft, carefully choosing the right words to say.
Izumo looked over to Totsuka and found him gazing back at him. Totsuka only responded with a warm smile and returned his gaze at the sky. A crescent of a smile was painted on Izumo's lips. No words were exchanged between the two of them but somehow they knew what the other was thinking. Totsuka's warmth made him feel at ease, even just by lying down there on the grass with him, he felt better. The calm coldness of the air, the scent of the grass and the fading light of the sun settled the storm in his heart.
Mikoto was running as fast as he could, so fast that his surroundings were a blur in his vision. His legs were unstoppable, but the rush that he was feeling was new to him. It made him feel light, it made him feel hopeful and warm. It made him think of nothing but Reishi and how he looked as the rays of the sunset filter through the student council room, his back to him and the curtains undulating in the wind. The sound of the quivering branches nor his footsteps didn't disrupt his thoughts. He could think of nothing else at this moment. He finally reached the gates and was relieved to see that it was still open. He entered and craned his neck to look at the floor where the student council was to be found. The color of the sky had deepened into red, any minute now, the sun would fully be hidden away from the people's curious eyes and be replaced by the frolic of lights from the cars in the traffic, the bars, and the sallow shine from the lamppost by the time he goes out of the school premises. He swallowed a lump on his throat and entered the building. There were some students that were in the entrance preparing to go home. He surprised them with a scary look on his face. He was desperate after all, but he didn't understand why he was desperate. His footsteps reverberated in the stairwell, he knew if there were teachers there he would surely be reprimanded for running. He surprised himself at this, he never really thought he would ever care what the teachers think.
Reishi was used to Mikoto appearing unannounced in the student council office after their meetings that he formed the habit of waiting for him even though he knows that he wouldn't come. And everytime the sun sets, every time it completely disappears from the horizon without Mikoto's presence in the room, he would feel an ache in his heart like no other. This was one of those moments. Reishi was sitting on the table gazing out of the window looking at the sunset as it slowly vanishes from the horizon and it's rays burning red, darker than blood splashed against the skyline. It's colors reflect light on his eyes. He takes off his glasses and puts it on the table just some centimeters far from him. He hears footsteps but dismisses it as one of his imaginations. He would always try to imagine Mikoto was coming everytime, so this was not something new, but he didn't know that he was really coming. He didn't know that this time around, his mind was not playing tricks on him.
Most of the time, when he waits for Mikoto to arrive, he feels his mind break into pieces, he feels his heart shatter into a million shards. He wishes that he could drift away but he tries to find his reason. He was not showing how he really felt towards Mikoto after all. And the very proof of this was the fact that their relationship didn't really change that much from before. And the two of them never really talked about the status of their relationship, they only knew that they had to stay by each other's side if that made any sense. There was no need for a lot of words. How they looked at each other's way and their body language compensates for it.
Reishi was too oblivious of his surroundings that he did't notice someone coming up behind him.
"Munakata…"
It was Mikoto. The red head called his name over and over again in his mind, burying his face on the small of Reishi's back. Reishi looked over his shoulder and smiled. He touched Mikoto's arm and faced him.
"Suoh.."
He nuzzled his forehead with Mikoto's and kissed him there. Reishi's actions completely blew Mikoto's mind. His loins were burning with passion and his breath was caught in his throat. He wanted Reishi so much that he could eat him whole. He grunted softly trying to restrain himself from ravishing him but he couldn't. The fact the Reishi was so close to him was not helping. And as the saline scent that was oozing out of the blue's skin filled his nostrils, he was intoxicated. It ran through his veins like the scent of burning coke. It crushed his lungs that he felt like coughing blood because of the pain in his chest. His mind was a mess and a primal instinct overcame him. He wanted to make love to Reishi. He never felt such intense passion ever in his life, he didn't even feel this strongly when he first did it with Reishi. He breathed him all in and enveloped the blue in his arms. He fumbled with Reishi's buttons and let Reishi's shirt slide off his smooth porcelain skin which glistened with sweat. He then dug his teeth deep into Reishi's shoulder. He felt the smoothness of the blue's skin and the burning warmth of his body. Mikoto felt him more alive and more real in his arms. He licked his shoulders up to his neck and planted a deep kiss, purposely leaving marks. Reishi tasted like the sea. His saline scent made him imagine the sound of the waves as it licks the shorelines, it sounds and resounds. A seagull caws at a distance and then he begins to feel the coldness of the sea beneath his feet. Night time was coming perhaps, but he ignores it and kisses Reishi's throat.
His tongue stung with the taste of his beloved's skin. It felt like a burn. So this was how touching should be, so this is how making love was. He needed the reprieve of Reishi's mouth, he needed the sweetness of his tongue and the salvation of his touch. But more than anything else, he wanted to feel his warmth around his core. He wanted to feel him squeeze him, wrap his legs around his waist and scream his name in pleasure as he moves with clenched hands. He wanted to see his every expression as he does every imaginable thing he could think of. Mikoto wanted everything of Reishi for himself. No more, no less.
Reishi's fingers ran through his hair, gripping it tightly when he bit him again. and pulled him in for a kiss. Reishi closed his eyes and allowed himself to submit to Mikoto. He twined his arms around Mikoto's neck and repositioned himself against the redhead's body. He leaned in, opening his mouth to prepare for Mikoto's soft lips to press on his and for his sweet tongue to enter his mouth. So this was why it was called "making love". He opens his eyes and sees Mikoto's flustered face. His dazed eyes stared greedily at him. This man wanted him. And he wanted him as well. There was no stopping what was about to happen. Mikoto buried his face on Reishi's chest, heaving, trying to restrain himself from bursting. He was almost afraid to touch him anew, as if Reishi was fire, as if burning would be the ugliest and the most dreadful thing that could happen to him. He swallows a lump on his throat and tries to tell him the three words a lover would say. But he doesn't. He couldn't. And because of that, he has lost his chance to ever say it to him.
