A/N: OMG I have so much to catch up on! When I watched the second half of season 4 I got bombarded with inspiration and now that season five has happened I have so much more! Let me know what you guys think!

Angel spent more time with Michael as he grew weaker, she knew it was a matter of days at this point and it broke her heart, he was her family. Daryl gave her all the time she needed to be with him, he would go out on hunts to make her not feel guilty about not being with him all the time like she had before. He knew that that night she would be laying in his arms so it didn't bother him.

They had just gotten done eating dinner and they returned to their cell and he leaned back on the bed frame and she came around and leaned on his back grabbing a book that Michonne had brought for her on her last trip and Daryl thought he had found perfect timing. He ran his fingers over the ring in his pocket, and felt nervous, he kissed the back of her neck, "I love you."

"I love you too," She laughed, "What did you do wrong?"

"Nothing, why'd I have to do something wrong?" He tried not to smile at her.

"Because you've been being sweet to everyone lately, so either you've done something wrong or you're getting soft on me." She turned to face him.

"No but I do want to ask you something." He said sitting up, and she could see how nervous he was. He opened his mouth to answer the question but was interrupted by Aiden.

"Angel come quick." She turned and saw that he was out of breath from running across the prison, "It's Michael."

Daryl question quickly left both of their minds and they were all running to Michael cell. When she got there she saw Sunny dabbing his forehead with a wet cloth but he was still covered in sweat and his skin was almost white and he was shaking having a hard time breathing. Sunny got up from the seat next to him and Angel went and sat down next to him, trying to erase all emotions so that she could do what he asked.

"It's that time." Michael said to her with a small smile.

"Yeah, just…just relax and let it happen." She tried to smile back, Daryl could see her trying not to cry.

"I'm sure as hell not stopping it." He laughed then started coughing and she helped moving him to his side and she watched as he coughed up blood. When he was done she wiped his mouth and he drank some water spitting it back out to clear his mouth. He looked up at her as she rolled him back on his back, "Can I ask a favor?"

"Anything."

"You're my best friend, always have been. You were my first kiss, and I'd be honored if you'd be my last." He smiled as she let out a laugh with a tear streaming down her cheek, Michael looked up at Daryl, "Don't worry shes not my type, it's just for memories sake."

She looked at Daryl and he nodded. Angel looked back down at him and ran her fingers over her head and laughed at him, laughed that this was his last request. She leaned down and placed her lips on his lightly and then placed her head on his chest trying not to cry.

"Oh Angel I'm sorry for having to make you do this. You deserve better from me." He ran his hand over her hair.

"It's okay, you've lost a lot of weight, it makes you easier to carry." She laughed and realized that his hand was no longer moving on her head, and his chest was no longer moving under her head. She sat up and looked at his face, the pain had all left it and she reached up and closed his eyes.

Sitting there for a moment everyone watched to see if she would be able to do what needed to be done but she never moved from his side, she knew that his grave had already been dug, on his request and that he didn't want to be wrapped up so that he could return to the earth faster, so all she had to do was put the knife in and take him outside.

She reached into her boot and grabbed the knife she always carried there and shakily pulled it out, she put her hand on one side of his face and leaned over his head, she placed her forehead to his, "I'm sorry for this Michael."

The knife broke through the skull and she cringed as she started to cry but she pushed the blade all the way in. She pulled the knife out and placed it on the bed next to him, needing her hand to support herself and Aiden came up behind her, placing a hand on her back, "Come on, I'll take him outside."

"No." She pushed him off of her and grabbed Michaels arm. She hoisted his body up and onto her shoulders, and turned to look at everyone, "I've always carried him. He's my responsibility."

Aiden nodded and opened the doors for her. She didn't pay attention to anyone that she passed whose heads turned as she walked by with tears running down her face. He was the one thing that she had from before the war, the one thing that hadn't been touched by the war, she hated to admit it but even her brother had been tainted. Michael was all that was left and now he's gone.

Angel walked him all the way to the plot and stepped down inside it laying her friend down. She ran her hand down his cheek one last time before climbing out and grabbing the shovel. They watched as she began to move dirt into the grave with tears still streaming down her face. Her bother looked at Daryl and they both knew she couldn't, shouldn't do this by herself.

Aiden came up and took the shovel from her and she almost protested as Daryl placed a hand on her shoulder, her brother looked at her and looked at the grave, "He may have been your responsibility, your burden to carry, but he's my burden to bury."

Daryl wrapped his arms around Angel and she couldn't hold it in anymore and she broke down in tears, she knew it was going to happen, he had told her long before he died, but now that he was really gone she it was real. She couldn't support her weight and she fell to the ground while in Daryls arms and he cradled her all the way down. They stayed until Aiden was done covering the grave and the sun had gone down and Daryl carried her back into their cell and he continued to hold her as they laid down and his question remained forgotten.

Time went on and Rick had put down his gun for farming, Michonne still looked for the Governor, Daryl became more popular for his hunting along with Angel, while she slowly got over the death of her friend.

She woke up to Daryl feathering kisses on the back of her neck. Angel couldn't help but smile and roll over connecting her lips to his. He placed a hand on her hip and pulled her body to his and she wrapped her arms around her neck. When she slipped her tongue into his mouth he let out a quiet enough moan to where no one else in the cell block would hear it.

"Do we have time?" She whispered to him as his hips ground against hers.

"They cant leave without us." He smiled and she knew it was true now that they had cut the group that was going on the run that day, but she still gave him a questioning look and he got up to check where the sun was at from their door cell. He nodded as he covered the door back up and she smiled as he climbed back on top of her.

Angel moved the hair out of his face, "You need a haircut."

"I remember you used to like it." He said kissing down her neck.

"Yeah but soon it'll be as long as mine." She laughed.

"No I got a long way to go for that." He ran his hand through it.

She smiled as she ran her hands up his thighs ready to unbluckle his belt as her hand went over a bump in his pocket. Immediately her eyes shot up to him and saw a blush run across his face, "Daryl Dixon you never carry anything in your pockets."

"I've been waiting for the right time." He said reaching into his pocket and pulling out the ring Michonne had gotten for him.

Her eyes began to water as she smiled, "Well romantic walks are kind of hard with walkers in the way. Any time would have been perfect, you're perfect."

Angels hand shook as she held it up where he was holding the ring, Daryl couldn't help but smile, "So is that a yes?"

"You never asked." She smiled coyly as she sat up so she was even with him.

Daryl instantly was nervous again even though he was pretty sure he knew the answer, "Will you marry me?"

"Yes. Even though you don't need a ring to make me yours." She smiled kissing him.

"I just want to give you something normal from this relationship." He cupped her face.

"I have you, I don't need normality." Angel held her hand up as he slipped the ring on her finger then pulled him back down on the bed. She lifted his shirt off and smiled when his hair tickled her face. He kissed down her chest and down to her stomach, he hesitated for a moment, letting a kiss linger there, hoping that one day that their child could be in there.

She sensed this and pulled him back up to her, "One day."

"I know." He smiled and lifted her shirt off of her. She unbluckled his pants and slid them off while he pulled off her panties. Daryl pressed his lips to hers as he entered her and her chest rose as she gasped into his mouth, she loved how no matter how bad things got or how much time went on he still made everything better, made everything right, even though he hated believing it.

"I love you." She whispered in his ear, running her hands through his hair, nails digging into his back.

He placed a kiss on her throat as he replied, "I love you too."

Her grip grew tighter and he knew she was close, when she tightened around him he couldn't stop himself from releasing himself as well.

They walked out of the cells and out to the court yard and everyone said hi to all of them and she laughed as she knew it made him uncomfortable. When they were next to Carol, who was teaching Sophia how to cook, she smiled at Daryl knowing that he didn't like the attention, "Just so you know I liked you first."

"Stop." He looked away while eating.

"Actually I think I liked him first." Angel smiled at Carol and they both laughed. They spoke for a moment then she asked them to follow her while asking Patrick to take over what she was doing. Angel couldn't help but laugh as the young boy wanted to shake Daryls hand and licked his fingers before obliging, "Oh Daryl the things you do that make me love you."

He gave her a grin with attitude as they followed Carol. She showed them the buildup overnight and now they were loosing even more people on the run, but they knew they still had to go.

As they packed up the cars Beth and her boyfriend talked and when she walked away Daryl commented on how it was like a romance novel. Angel finished strapping on her guards, "Weren't you the one talking about normality this morning? That's what it looks like."

"Shut it you." He looked at her with half a smile on his face.

She walked by him with a smile, "I've got the ring, I don't have to do squat now."

He let out a laugh as Bob walked up to them and she followed him knowing he was heading for the motorcycle. He started it up as she went to get on and he walked it forward so that she couldn't and he turned to look at her with the corners of his mouth upturned, she put her hands on her hips, "Do it again, I'll ride in the truck."

He held the bike still this time and when she placed her hands on her legs like always he turned to look at her. He grabbed on hand at a time and put them around his waist. She smiled, "I knew you liked it when I hold you tight."

"Man I'm gunna have to take that thing back from you aren't I?" He said as they started moving.

"You'll have to pry it from my cold dead hand." She spoke in his ear.

"Nope." He yelled as they exited the gates with a smile. Michonne joined them and they were off to the Big Spot.

As they walked through the parking lot of the store Daryl had his eyes on Angel, he knew the sight of dead military still bothered her even if no one else could see it, it's why she told the rest of her team to stay at the prison, continuing fixing things and charging the electrical things they could. She knew he was watching her she turned to him and gave him a nod, letting him know she was okay. When they made it up to the front of the store Daryl banged on the glass and Zach continues his game on trying to guess what Daryl did before the turn. When he says homicide cop Michonne begin to laugh. Angel knows despite what Daryl says that it isn't true but keeps as straight of a face as possible for Daryl. Zach looks at her, "Is he forreal?"

"If the man says you're right then you're right." She shrugged her shoulders and looked at Daryl, both of them trying to hide a smile.

"I'll just keep guessing then." The boy said knowing that they were screwing with him.

"Yeah you do that." Daryl replies quickly and the humor was gone as the walkers made it to the front of the store.

After it was clear she they all headed in and saw Bob looking at the bottom half of a military officer. She walked over to him, "It doesn't get easier, seeing others like that, but it's no different from how it was over there."

"I know." He looked at her with a faked smile.

"We just jumped from the frying pan to the fire with this one." She patted him on the back and they walked inside, but she knew both of them were wondering how in the hell that officer got chopped in half.

She and Daryl walked down the aisles together getting the things on their list, she turned to him with a smile, "Look at this, one day engaged and we're already grocery shopping together."

"Normality." He smiled at her with sarcasm.

"That's going to be the new thing, huh?" She laughed at him.

"As long as it makes you smile." He said stealing a kiss before she turned to get something off the shelf. He was about to say something when they heard a crash and they both ran to where it had come from. Bob was trapped underneath a wine rack and Daryl and Tyreese were trying to get it off of them as she heard cracking coming from the ceiling.

When she looked up she saw a walker fall through the tiles and it was hanging from it's intestines, "How the hell did they get on the roof!?"

"Uh yeah, we should probably go now." Glenn said quickly. They went to where Bob was still helping him as more walkers began to fall from the roof.

Walkers quickly began swarming them and they began fighting them off. She saw one take Glenn down and he was trying to fight it off. Taking down the one that was in front of her she ran over as another began crawling up his leg. She kicked it off, her shin guard going right through its head.

They kept falling and it was seriously pissing her off, "You have got to be fucking kidding me! This place was damn near perfect!"

"Not anymore!" Glenn yelled as they stuck together. She saw Daryl on top of some boxed wine and ran over to him. She heard more creaking as she took out the walkers with him and they both looked up.

"Daryl that's a chopper! We've gotta move! NOW!" She pulled him from the top of the pile and pulled him away. Zach provided cover fire as they got the walker away from Bob and he went to lift the cabinet as she and Daryl pulled him from off the ground. The panels on the ceiling began falling and she started yelling for everyone to run, letting them all get ahead of her. Zach took one step then got pulled back as a walker grabbed his leg from under the cabinet.

She saw it bite into his calf but she knew he could be saved, she ran for him but he was on the ground and the walker bit his neck. Her blood was pumping in her ears and she could only hear his screams as she tried to get to him. Daryl saw the ceiling coming down and that she was too close. He ran grabbing her around the waist and picked her up, running out with her in his arms as the helicopter came crashing down right were Zach was, right where she had been.

They got outside and she realized he had just saved her life. She turned to him and he cupped her face, "Later."

She nodded and they all headed back to the prison. Daryl said he would tell Beth, knowing that Angel wanted to talk to Michael. When he was alive he enjoying hearing about the travels outside the walls and it was a tradition she kept going into his death, she told him about everything that happened at the prison. She knew he would have liked Zach, in fact Zach reminded her of Michael, she had told Daryl that once, and so he knew she needed her time.

Daryl was in their room before she was and he was waiting for her. She came and sat down next to him, he opened his mouth to say something but she cut him off with a kiss, "I'm sorry."

"You were trying to save him." Daryl put his arm around her back.

"I know but that chopper could have come right down on me."

He nuzzled his nose to hers, "I know but I pulled you back in time, I always will."

"I know, but I have to not get so close from now on so that you don't have to pull me back." She gave him a sad smile.

He gave her a passionate kiss, "But then you wouldn't be you."

He laid her down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her and he held her until she fell asleep.
