Letting out a sigh, Rogue propped herself up on her elbows and looked down into Gambit's eyes. Without saying anything, she reached over and combed some stray strands of hair out of his face as she smiled at him.
"So." She said, watching him prop himself up on his right side to face her.
"So." He repeated, kissing the tip of her nose.
"Ah ain't gonna lie." She said, tracing his forearm with her fingers. "Ah've been curious as ta how old ya are."
He smirked, reaching out and combing his fingers through her hair. "Goin' on t'irty-two dis comin' summer." He said, seeing her eyes widen. "Wha's wrong?"
"Good gracious, ya..." Rogue said counting on her fingers. "Seven years older than me. Ah'm goin' on twenty-five this comin' year."
"Dat a problem?" He asked, placing his hand on the side of her face.
"Well, ah suppose not." She said, smiling as she leaned forward and kissed him. "When's ya birthday?"
"See, dat be a mystery even t' me." He said, seeing her cock an eyebrow. "I jus' say I'm a year older when July rolls 'round. Seem t' make sense, no?"
"Not really." Rogue said, lightly laughing. "Why don't ya know when ya birthday is? That's kinda silly."
He shrugged. "It be a long story." He said, tracing her clavicle with the tips of his left index and middle fingers. "Don' bot'er me none."
"But ya ain't had a proper birthday party. That's depressin'." She said, looking at his lips.
"Like I said, don' bot'er me none." He said, moving closer and kissing her, filling her desire. "Don' need no party anyhow. I jus' be gettin' older."
Shaking her head, she smiled as she placed her hand on the back of his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. "Well, ah don't give a flyin' hoot about ya age, sugah." She said. "Ya perfect."
"Don' know 'bout dat." He said, placing his hand on her waist. "But I be tryin'."
She smiled, looking over his face as they sat there in silence for several minutes before the buzzing of a phone broke their moment.
Looking around, Rogue noticed her phone on her nightstand. "Ain't me." She said, watching Gambit roll on to his back and reach off the bed.
Grabbing his pants, he took his phone out of the front right pocket and and smiled as he read the screen before answering it. "Allô." He said, sitting up, setting his sweats in his lap. "Oui, I be right dere. Merci."
Rogue sat up as he got out of bed and got dressed. "Where ya going?" She asked.
Pulling his shirt over his head, he smiled at her. "Blood test results." He said, pulling his hair through the collar of the T-shirt and putting it back into a pony tail. "Y' wanna come?"
Smiling back, Rogue nodded. "Sure." She said, getting out of bed and getting dressed.
Once dressed, they head out of her room and down the stairs toward Beast's lab. When they arrived, Gambit placed a light rap on the door frame, causing Hank to look up and smile at them.
"Good evening my friends." He said, standing and grabbing a manila folder before walking over to them and handing it to Gambit.
"Y' look at it?" Gambit asked, taking it and opening the metal prongs that kept the folder closed.
"Being your doctor, of course." He said, taking his glasses off as Gambit took the paper out and skimmed it.
He smiled and raised an eyebrow as he turned to Rogue and pointed out the specific line. "See? Not'in'." He said.
Hank smiled as he watched them share a kiss. "Might I suggest still using protection." He said, getting their attention. "It is of high importance, even if you are clean. There are other factors to take into consideration."
"Of course." Rogue said. "My bein' on birth control is in case somethin' breaks."
Gambit smirked as he received a light elbow to the stomach. "T'ese came in quick, no?" He said, seeing Beast nod.
"Three to seven days." He said, wiping his glasses on his coat. "Though, I do have a few friends that can pull strings from time to time."
"T'anks, Henry." He said, shaking the furry doctor's hand.
"Anytime, my friends." He said, as the couple left his lab.
"Wha' y' wanna do now, chere?" Gambit asked, as she took his hand and led him down the hall and to the fireplace.
"Ah just wanna be with ya." She said as they sat down on the couch.
"Den dat's wha' we'll do." He said, draping his left arm around her, pulling her closer as Kitty walked in holding a few books.
"Whoops, should I head somewhere else?" She asked.
"Nah. Ain't interruptin' anything." Rogue said, placing her hand on Gambit's thigh. "Just enjoyin' the fireplace."
"I'm just gonna grade these winter finals. I'll keep to myself." Kitty said, sitting in the leather chair to their right.
"Ya fine, gal." Rogue smiled as she watched her spread her papers out on the side table.
Moving his hand to her neck, he lightly massaged it. "Li'l tense." He said, watching her lull her head forward slowly.
"All tha action ah've been seein' lately." She said, making him smile.
"Could slow it down." He said, leaning in and kissing her neck. "But dat drive me crazy."
"You guys." Kitty smiled at them before going back to her grading.
"Sorry." Rogue said, seeing her shake her head.
"Don't apologize." She said. "It's great you two can finally fulfill the desires you've been feeling toward each other. It's been exhausting watching you two."
They lightly laughed. "Oh, I know." Gambit said, running his right hand up her right arm. "Been torture fo' me."
"Try not bein' able ta touch for half ya life." Rogue said, nudging him. "That's torture."
He smirked. "C'est vrai." He said, combing through the back of her hair before he leaned in and kissed her ear. "Vous êtes si belle."
Raising an eyebrow, but smiling, Rogue looked at him. "And what did ya just call me?" She asked, making him lightly chuckle.
"I said, y' so beautiful." He repeated in English, watching her smile widen. "Je t'aime."
Kitty looked up at them and smiled again. "I've never heard you express your love to someone before. It's cute." She said, causing him to laugh.
"Dat be 'cause I ain' found de right one." He said, looking back at Rogue. "T'ink maybe I finally did, no?"
"Ya just tryin' ta get laid again, aren't ya?" Rogue asked, causing Kitty to laugh.
"Okay, T.M.I. guys." She said, holding her hand up to stop them as Storm entered.
"Ey, Ro." Gambit said, motioning for her to come and sit by him.
"Dare I say, I have been quite restless these past few days since our last mission." Storm said, walking over and sitting beside Gambit.
"Ah heard ya." Rogue said. "That training was a tease for me."
"As it was for me." Storm said, smiling at them. "Cyclops believes something big will be happening very soon."
"Dat homme always t'inkin' de worst." Gambit said, stretching his legs out and crossing his ankles.
"He is always on alert." Storm said. "It is not a bad idea, considering he is the leader of the team."
"Needs t' learn t' relax." He said. "Can still be on alert. I a'ways am."
"Why's that?" Rogue asked, leaning against him and placing her hand on his chest.
"Habit, I s'ppose." He said, looking at her and softly smiling. "Never know when y' might go kickin' my ass."
Rogue laughed, tracing the collar of his T-shirt. "Keep ya self in line and ah won't hafta." She said.
"Speakin' o' trainin', where Cyclops get de idea fo' dat dis mornin'?" Gambit asked, looking at Storm.
"It was suggested to him by Professor Xavier." She said. "He believed it would help us work together."
"But we a'ready work toget'er." Gambit said, raising an eyebrow.
"Not all of us work as a team." Storm said, raising her eyebrows. "You know of whom I am speaking."
"Psht." Rogue rolled her eyes. "Yeah, well, he don't work with anyone. Tha man has a problem takin' orders and so do ya."
Gambit's eyebrows lowered as she pointed at him. "Me?" He asked. "I work wit' de team."
"Not as smoothly as ya should." She said, seeing Storm nod.
"It is true." Storm said, getting his attention.
"But I work wit' de team." He said, defending himself. "Unlike a certain Canadian."
"Yeah, ah suppose ya do help out." Rogue said, smirking at him. "Even if ya don't really agree with it."
"Non. If I didn't agree wit' it, I wouldn' go along wit' it." He said. "Dere jus' better way o' gettin' t'ings done, no?"
"Then perhaps you would like to lead the team?" Storm asked, giving a playful smirk.
"Y'all ain' even up t' par." Gambit said.
"Hey." Kitty said, looking up from grading papers. "I heard that."
"Don' mean t' offend, petit." He said. "But it be true. Y' ain' close t' havin' de trainin' I have."
"I would totally take you on in the Danger Room." Kitty said, pointing the end of her pen at him.
"Whenever y' want, chere." He said, winking at her.
"Ah'll bring tha popcorn and me 'n Storm can watch y'all from the control room." Rogue said, patting his thigh.
"I be sure t' put on a good show, den." He said cockily before taking his arm back from around Rogue and standing. "If y' don' mind, chere, I need t' step out fo' a smoke."
"That's fine, hun." Rogue smiled up at him before she watched him leave the room. "Cocky bastard."
Kitty laughed as she looked up from her papers and nodded. "He's lucky he's got looks on his side, otherwise I'd sock him in the teeth. Just can't bring myself to do it with that pretty face of his." She said, making the other two girls laugh.
"And, he has a way with words." Storm added.
Rogue sighed. "He kills me when he starts speakin' French." She said, tucking her legs under her. "Mm, mm. Damn sexy."
Kitty chuckled as she wrote on one student's paper. "They say French is the language of love." She said, straightening the papers as she looked at Rogue.
"Girl, it is." Rogue said, lightly scratching the itch that had formed on her upper left arm. "He taught me ta kiss, maybe he can teach me French."
"Wait, he taught you to kiss?" Kitty asked. "You didn't know how?"
"It ain't like ah been kissin' on boys in my spare time." She said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Storm smiled. "I am just ecstatic that you are so happy together." She said. "And Remy needs someone like you in his life. You are perfect for each other."
"Ah appreciate that, Ororo." Rogue said, smiling warmly at her friend.
"So, you pretty much spilled the beans earlier that you two are getting it on." Kitty said with a smirk, wiggling her eyebrows up and down.
Rogue tried to fight the blush off. "That ain't any of ya business." She said, looking at the fire.
"I'm surprised you can even walk." Kitty jested. "He's been pretty serious about you and hasn't gone out at night, like he use to, in almost a year. Figured he'd bang you bow-legged with how long he's gone without sex."
Rogue knew her face was red. "For ya information, he's extremely gentle." She said, standing. "Now, if y'all excuse me, ah'm gonna go ta tha gym."

A few snowflakes started to fall into Gambit's view and he looked up at the gray sky and shivered. Inhaling another drag of the cigarette, he let the smoke linger in his lungs before he slowly blew it out, watching it mix with the snowflakes that lightly fell to the earth.
Pulling his collar up and his jacket close around his body, he sighed as the snow began to fall heavier. Taking a long, slow drag, he dropped the butt of the cigarette to the roof, smashing it with his boot, before he stood and crawled back into his bed room. After locking the window, he rubbed his hands together before he left his room and head down the stairs. Reaching the bottom he turned and head toward the kitchen when he saw Cyclops coming from Jean's office.
"Gambit." He said, holding his hand up and smiling. "Just the man I wanted to see."
Gambit stopped and smirked as he placed his hands in the pockets of his duster. "Wha' I do dis time?" He asked.
Scott shook his head. "Nothing, yet." He said, causing an eyebrow to lift Gambit out of curiosity.
"Wha' y' mean by dat?" He asked, slightly tilting his head to the side and narrowing his gaze.
"Well," Scott started, smiling warmly at him. "I know it's none of my business what you and Rogue do behind closed doors. But please, don't get her pregnant."
Gambit smirked out of amusement. "Are y' serious?" He asked. "It ain' like I wake up every mornin' wit' dat as my goal."
"I know and I didn't mean it like that." Scott said. "Rogue's just a vital member of this team. We can't have her out."
"Cyclops," He said, still smiling, patting the man's shoulder. "I got de rubbers, she got de pills. Y' can rest easy, homme. We got it all covered, literally. B'sides, I ain' ready t' be no papa jus' yet."
Scott chuckled. "Ain't that the truth." He said, making Gambit chuckle as well. "Well, I'll let you get back to whatever you were doing."
"A'right." Gambit said, watching him head behind him and up the stairs before he walked into the kitchen to see several students at the table playing Go Fish.
"Hey, Mr. LeBeau, you wanna play?" One of the younger girls asked him.
He smiled at the young girls as he walked over and looked down at the three of them that were playing and noticed the seven cards in their hands. "Go Fish?" He asked, seeing the fourteen year old's nod. "Maybe I play a few games, eh? Go easy on me. Ain' played dis game in a long time."
Sitting down beside the blonde fourteen year old, he smiled at her as she blushed and took all the cards from everyone and handed him the deck. "We'll let you do the honors." She said, watching him take the deck and shuffle it in his hands quickly before he dealt the cards, placing the remaining deck in the middle.
"How 'bout y' go first, petit?" He said, looking across the table at the dark haired girl.

Rogue kept her focus as she ran on the treadmill. She had been running for a good forty minutes before she slowed the machine to a walking pace and re-hydrated herself. She was able to think about things that had been weighing on her. As much as she loved being with Gambit, sometimes being alone was better. Especially when she needed to think and sort things out.
Stopping the machine and stepping off, she took another drink of water as she grabbed her towel and dabbed the back of her neck and forehead. Her legs were sore, not from the run, but for other reasons and she smiled thinking about this afternoon.
"Hey, Rogue." Jubilee said, walking into the gym.
"Hey." She said with a smile, draping the towel over her shoulder. "Whatcha up ta?"
Jubilee shrugged. "Just gonna box for a few." She said. "I figured I'd work on my sparring for Wolverine."
"Well, sparring helps when ya have a person ta actually spar with." She said, smirking at the girl.
"Oh, I know." Jubilee said. "But I need to work on the force of my hits. Right now I hit like a girl."
"Maybe 'cause ya are a girl." Rogue said, winking at her.
"You know what I mean." Jubilee said, playfully glaring at her.
Rogue nodded as she took another sip of her water. "Ah'll see ya later, hun." She said, giving a small wave as she walked out and headed toward the stairs.
Before she stepped up, she heard several of the girl students laughing in the kitchen. Turning and looking at the entrance, she walked over and smiled when she saw Gambit at the table with three other teens playing cards. Crossing her arms over her chest, she walked in and over to them, getting their attention.
"So, ya havin' fun with other girls, now?" She joked.
Gambit smiled up at her. "Playin' Go Fish. Y' wanna join us, chere?" He asked, letting his eyes dip down to her bare midsection.
"Wait a minute." Rogue said, smiling pointing at the table. "You know how ta play Go Fish?"
Smirking at her playfulness, Gambit nodded. "O' course. Everybody knows how t' play Go Fish."
"Ah never would've expected ya, of all people, ta know." She said, seeing the girls smile.
"Wha' dat suppose t' mean, mon amour?" He asked, keeping that smile on his face.
Crossing her arms just under her bust, she shrugged. "Just don't seem like ta kiddie game type." She said, hearing the girls quietly snicker. "With ya being a bad boy, ah figured ya'd only be playing poker of some sort."
Keeping the smile, Gambit sat his hand upside down on the table and stood. "Wha's wit' de insults, chere?" He asked walking around to her and placing his hands on her hips. "Not dat I mind, but yo' a lot sassier dan normal. I love it."
Rogue saw the girls watching them as Gambit pulled her close and began to kiss her neck. "Remy." She said with a smile, his kisses tickling her. "Not here."
"Ain' doin' not'in' dey haven' seen." He said, smirking at the girls. "Ain' dat right?"
"Damn. Do you have any sons?" One of the girls asked, making the others laugh.
Gambit shook his head, his smile genuine now. "Afraid not, petit." He said, looking back at Rogue. "Speakin' o' sons."
Rogue's eyes widened as she pulled away. "Ah ain't havin' a baby." She said, pointing her finger at him.
"Y' ain' even let me finish my t'ought." He said, the girls snickering again as he pulled her close again. "Scott beg me not t' get y' pregnant."
"Remy, this ain't somethin' ya discuss in front of young teens." Rogue said, blushing lightly as she pulled away again.
"Dey know de mechanics of sex." He said, looking at them. "Ain' dat right, girls?"
They nodded as they watched them closely. "Ah could knock ya inta next week." Rogue said, taking his hand and leading him out of the kitchen.
"Au revoir, les filles!" He said as he was pulled around the corner into the hallway and pushed against the wall. "Wha's wrong, chere?"
"Ah don't appreciate tha fact ya talkin' about our personal life in front of tha students." She said, a little annoyance in her voice as she crossed her arms over her chest. "And what's this about sons?"
Gambit shook his head. "Noth'in'. Scott jus' beggin' me not t' get y' pregnant." He said, seeing her eyebrows dip. "He worried, b'cause y' be mighty important t' de team."
"Why is everyone all up in my business all of a sudden?" Rogue asked, turning around and taking a few steps away from him before facing him again. "Ah ain' underage or anything. Ah'm a grown woman."
Gambit shook his head. "It ain' you dey worried 'bout." He said, his face going serious. "Dey worryin' 'bout me an' wha' I could possibly do t' y'. In ot'er words, knockin' y' up. Ain' nobody like me here, Anna. C'est un fait."
"Ya know that ain't true, sugah." Rogue said, her face softening as she walked closer to him.
"Sure it is." He said, putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket and shrugging. "I ain' never invited out nowhere. Ain' never been included in a social gat'erin'. Dey don' give a fuck 'bout me."
"Well, ya keep ta ya self." Rogue said, reaching out and placing her hand on his upper right arm. "Try openin' up ta them like ya do ta me."
"Not gonna pretend t' be someone I ain'." He said, looking into her eyes with a slight glare.
"Remy," She said, placing her hand on the side of his face. "Ya don' have ta pretend."
Taking her hand from his face, he placed it on his chest. "Dey don' like de real me." He said, still looking into her eyes. "I know y' see it. Y' a smart woman."
"Logan's tha only one with a stick up his ass." She said sternly, pulling her hand away and hugging herself as she shivered. The stagnant winter air finally cooling her sweaty body off.
Smiling lovingly, Gambit slipped his duster off and draped it around her shoulders. "Cold?" He asked as she slipped her arms through the sleeves of the trench coat.
"Body's finally coolin' off." She said, hugging herself again as his smell waft up to her nose, calming her.
"Have a good workout?" He asked, touching her cheek with the backs of his fingers.
Blinking slowly, she nodded with a smile. "Mm hmm." She said, taking his hand and kissing his fingers. "Ah wanna go out tonight for dinner."
"A'right." He said, still smiling. "How 'bout y' go on and get ready. I wait fo' you down here."
Stepping closer, she placed her hands on his chest. "Ah want ya ta dress up for me." She said. "Not suit and tie dress up, but a nice shirt and slacks."
"Wha' ever y' want." He said as he took her hand and led her up the stairs and dropped her off at her room before he head to his.
A/N: Shorter chapter than normal, but don't worry. There will be more steam soon to come (since I know that's why you all are reading anyway, right?).
