Chapter 21 – Helicopter Ride

Brenna

I know April said a quick shower but the hot water just felt so good. I eventually got out and wrapped myself in a towel. I stepped out to find April pushing past me to get in.

"Thanks a lot Bren! Now I get to take a two second shower!" April said angrily as she slammed the door in my face.

"You know I love my long, hot showers! Did you really expect anything less?" I yelled back at her.

I shook my head and proceeded over to my suitcase. I was pulling out pieces of clothing when I heard the sliding glass door open. I turned toward the door to find my love entering with a huge smile on her face!

"What are you doing here?" I asked a little surprised to see her here already.

"I took my shower, got dressed, and decided I needed a kiss! So I came to get one." Greer said with her dimples on full display.

I laughed. I couldn't argue with that.

"Come here you!" I wrapped my arms around her neck and pulled her in for a kiss!

"So how bad was it? How many details did she get out of you?" I asked as we pulled apart slightly, resting my forehead on hers.

"What makes you think I gave up any details?" Greer asked with furrowed brows and pouty lips.

"Because I know Beth is good at prying. And if she doesn't get it with her sweetness she has a really good 'cut the crap and get to the point' line she uses that makes you think twice about holding back." I said with a smile.

"Yeah it does!" Greer's look said it all too well. She was definitely fed the 'and no one loses a finger' line.

"See!" I said with a smirk.

"So you're not mad?" Greer asked with a little hesitancy.

"Should I be?" I asked.

"No. I mean at least I don't think so. She just asked how I felt about you and I answered honestly." Greer said.

"And what did honesty have to say about how you felt about me?" I was pretty sure I knew, but I was curious as to what she would say.

"That you are like home to me. You make me feel safe in any environment and I would do anything to protect my home!" Greer said.

I leaned in and captured her lips! I couldn't help it. She just made every fiber in my body tingle with this feeling of love.

"Ugh! I can't seem to get away from you two making out!" April said playfully as she exited the bathroom.

"Sorry not sorry!" I said.

Greer laughed and started walking toward the door. "I'll let you two get dressed. I'll grab Beth and meet you back here in 5!"

I stared at her as she exited the sliding door. She blew a quick kiss to me as she stepped out. I smiled.

"It's sickening really. So much lovey dovey feelings floating in the air around you two all the time!" April said while she changed into her clothes. "I am happy for you Bren, but just remember that the vacation will end and we all will head back to our new/old lives in Boston. Remember she has a girlfriend and you have Kieran. Just be ready for what reality will throw at you when you get back."

"I know, but can't I just stay in this happy bubble with Greer just a little bit longer before reality swings its big ol' fist at the both of us?" I asked.

"Yes! Of course you can. At least for another couple of days." April said as she came over and gave me a hug. "Now hurry up and get dressed. We are going to be late."

I walked back to my room with a huge smile. Man, that girl is amazing.

"There you are! Where'd you go?" Beth asked stepping out on to the patio.

"Oh I, um, needed to ask Brenna something about today." I said.

"Right! And that translates to I needed a kiss. Your smile is giving you away big time." Beth said with a laugh.

I smiled and looked at the ground. Caught red handed. I gotta work on this whole smiling thing otherwise everyone will know anytime I am even just thinking about Brenna.

"Alright, got everything?" Beth asked.

"Um, let me just grab a couple of things and then I should be good to go!" I said running back inside to grab my small bag and threw a few things in there that may or may not be needed today.

"Alright, ready!" I said exiting the room and closing the slider.

"Great! Knowing Brenna, she probably isn't even ready yet, but punctuality is April's thing and I hate hearing it if I'm even 1 minute late!" Beth said with a laugh.

"Good to know! Mental note to never be late with April & always tell Brenna we have to be somewhere at least 30 minutes earlier then we have to." I said.

"Better make it 60 minutes! The girl loves her hot showers!" Beth said. We both couldn't hold back our laughter because even in the short time I have known her, I am realizing this fact more and more.

We got back to their room just as April was stepping out the door.

"Where's Brenna?" Beth asked.

"Where else? Still getting ready." April said. Beth looked over at me and we shared a smile. "Oh don't even try to act as though you didn't have anything to do with this… You were over here distracting her while she should have been getting dressed."

"Who me?" I asked as innocently as possible while holding up my hands in surrender.

"Yes you!" Came Brenna's voice from behind me.

"Okay, fine, guilty as charged, but I'd do it all over again in a heart beat!" I said with a huge smile.

"Me too!" Brenna said leaning in for a quick kiss.

We all met up with Emma and Mrs. C. We piled into the SUV and headed out for the day's adventure. Brenna and I shared the back seat again. She was fine for most of the car ride but started to feel a little queasy before we got there.

"Babe, lay down and I'll rub your back for a bit." I told her.

She did as I asked and before I knew it her eyes were shut and she was fast asleep. I swear she is so cute when she sleeps! I could watch her all the time, she just looks so peaceful.

We got to the site and I did my best to wake her up gently. Again she wrapped her arms around me and begged for just 5 more minutes. I laughed and said she could have all the minutes she wanted but that would mean no helicopter ride with just her and I looking at some of the most beautiful scenery this world has to offer. She perked right up.

"Okay, I'm up!" Brenna said.

"So beautiful scenery gets you moving huh?" I asked.

"No babe! The thought of just you and me gets me moving!" She said as she kissed my lips then hopped out of the vehicle.

"Oh! Well okay then!" I laughed and followed right behind her.

We went through all the instructions and sign this and sign that. Mrs. C said that Beth and April would go first, then Brenna and I, and then her and Emma would follow. Sounded good to me! I just couldn't wait for this helicopter ride and being with Brenna and seeing it all.

Beth and April took off and Emma came wandering over to Brenna and I while we waited for our turn to board the next chopper..

"So you two are quite serious! How is young love these days?" Emma asked us both.

"Uh, it's wonderful Grams!" Brenna said, not sure if she was being serious or not.

"It looks wonderful! Now I have no problem with you two at all, but you know your mother and how embarrassed she gets with PDA! Just remember to keep it in check while she is around!" Emma gave us a friendly warning.

"Okay Grams!" Brenna said.

"Yes ma'am!" I said.

"Oh, the pilot is motioning for you two to board. Have fun you two!" Emma said with a small wave as we walked away.

"Oh wait! You two have fun!" Mrs. C came running up to us and gave us each a huge hug and kiss on the forehead before we got in. "Be safe! And be good!"

"Thanks Mrs. C!" I said.

"Thanks Mom. Love you!" Brenna said.

"Love you too! The both of you!" Mrs. C said.

We strapped ourselves into the helicopter seats and put the headphones on so we could hear the pilot talk.

Doors closed and up we went.

Take off was fun. Brenna grabbed a hold of my hand pretty quickly and I could tell by her death grip that she may or may not been a little bit scared. I leaned over to her and told her she is safe with me.

We held hands the whole flight. The pilot pointed out various things for us to look at. The view was absolutely amazing. I could not believe that in this moment I was in the most beautiful place with the most beautiful girl by my side. Life was almost too good to be true. The flight lasted about an hour. We both were constantly taking pictures and pointing out to things outside the windows. We stole a kiss here and there without the pilot seeing, or at least we hoped he wasn't watching. It really was paradise! As the ride came to an end the pilot asked us if we wanted a picture of us while we were still up in the air. He knew the exact spot to take a picture where the scenery out the window was absolutely amazing for a background. Of course we said yes. We got to the spot. Brenna gave him her phone and he snapped a few picture of the two of us. We thanked him and headed back to the helicopter pad where we took off from.

Once we were back on the ground and out of the helicopter I asked Brenna to see the pics.

We started going through all the ones she and I both had taken. Beth and April had joined us and we all couldn't stop looking back at the pictures we all had taken. Hawaii was just so breathtakingly beautiful! And then Brenna swiped to the next picture of which was one of the three that the pilot had taken of us. The first two were of us smiling to the camera. Brenna was absolutely adorable. Then I saw the third one. Brenna had stopped looking at the camera and was looking at me. She was just so beautiful. I was still looking at the camera and she had a simple smile on her face and was looking up toward my eyes. I could see and feel in that very moment the love bursting out if her.

"This one is my favorite!" Brenna said.

"Mine too! You are so beautiful!" I said. I leaned in a kissed her. "I love you!

"And I love you!" Brenna said back to me with a smile.
