I decided to help the Greeks with their fighting, try and give them an advantage of what the Romans will attempt if they attacked.
My leg was still weak and Will had said that I would have my limp for about a month, that is if Gaea doesn't rise and kill us all and the entire human race.
It was hard to train the campers when I kept stumbling and falling because of the limp, but they seem more like they learn through hearing what to do as well as physically, so it worked out.
"Any word from the Hunter's or the Amazons?" I asked Chiron.
Chiron shook his head as we came to the end of the war meeting.
I had filled the Greeks in on everything that I knew about the Roman encampment so that they had an idea of what was to come.
"Hey Peter? Can I talk to you?" Will asked grabbing my shoulder.
"Sure man." I said with a smile. He led me to the infirmary.
When we walked in their was another Apollo kid sitting at the little desk by the door.
"Oh Hades! Please tell me that he isn't hurt again. When he had the arrow in his leg it took us forever to get the little kids to stop crying. We could hear his scream from the other side of Long Island." he said as he looked at me horrified.
I rubbed my neck a little embarrassed "Was I that loud?"
Both Will and the other guy nodded.
"I think you gave the kids nightmares." Will said.
I smiled as Will led me to his office, which was tiny but still roomy.
"What's up Solace?" I asked as I sat down.
Will looked a little nervous as he fiddled with the stethoscope on his desk.
"Y-You know Nico right?" Will asked.
I nodded "Death Breath? Yeah, we're friends. Why?"
Will gave me a small smile "Death Breath?"
"What's your point to this Will?" I asked with a chuckle.
Will was sweating and I was starting to get a little worried.
"Dude, are you okay? What's wrong?" I asked sitting up in my chair.
"Well...is Nico...um...I don't know." Will stammered.
"Come on man. Spit it out, whats wrong?" I asked again.
Will took a deep breath and then closed his eyes.
"DoyouknowifNicoisgay?" Will said as fast as a machine gun.
I was stunned at how fast he spoke.
"Do I know if...Oh!" I said when I finally realized what he had said.
Will nodded as he looked down not meeting my eye.
"So, that means that your...you know...gay?" I asked slowly.
Will nodded again.
"Look, I'm sorry. Forget I asked." Will said as he started getting up.
"He's stubborn." I said as Will walked out.
Will froze halfway through the door.
"What did you say?" Will said.
"Nico. He's stubborn." I repeated.
"So...he is gay?" Will asked a little spark of hope came to life in his eyes.
I nodded "I've known him for only a little while, but the way he talks about Percy is way more than a regular friend would say."
Will sat back down at the desk with a smile.
"Stubborn?" Will asked.
"You got to be a little aggressive when your talking to him, like if he is going to do something and you know it's bad if he does it then you got be strong when talking to him. Make sure that he knows you mean business." I explained.
Will nodded as he listened to me.
"Is he going to do something bad a lot?" Will asked.
"Ohhh yeah." I said with a smirk.
Will smirked too.
"Anything else?" Will asked.
"That's all I got on him. He doesn't open up very much, but you my friend you could be just what he needs." I said pointing at Will.
Will was a little shocked at my statement.
"Listen man I'm not one to try and interfere with relationships and stuff, but thanks for telling me I feel kinda honored that you asked me and that I could give you some info on Nico." I said with a small smile.
Will got up and I did too, then Will gave me a hug. This shocked me cause I really didn't see it coming.
"Thank's Peter." Will said as he got back behind his desk.
"Anytime buddy." I said as I limped out the door.
I walked out of the infirmary and headed towards the stables.
"What's up?" the big guy, Butch, said when he saw me.
"Not much. You?" I asked.
"Well, actually can I see your pegasus? I heard it was really cool." Butch asked as he closed the stable doors.
"Sure." I said and twisted my ring.
Stratus popped out like usual, but something was wrong.
Stratus fell onto the ground and was breathing heavily.
"Stratus?!" I yelled as I knelt down to check on him.
Butch was next to me as he examined Stratus.
"Peter back up." Butch said as he grabbed me and pulled me away.
"What's wrong with him?" I asked worried as I stared at my horse.
"Do you know what and empathy link is?" Butch asked.
I shook my head.
"It's a type of connection that satyrs and some children of Hecate can create. It magically links two people together, Percy Jackson and the satyr Grover have one." Butch explained.
"What does that have to do with my horse?" I asked.
Butch sighed "As near as I can figure, your horse is experiencing the pain of another pegasus, probably one that has a significant connection to him. This is only a theory but is their anything that could be connecting your pegasus to another one?"
I racked my brain trying to think. Finally I realized what the problem was.
"Skippy. Reyna!" I yelled as Stratus exploded into a miniature cloud like before.
"Peter, I'm sorry." Butch said.
"Stratus will be fine but he's connected to Skippy, Reyna's pegasus. That I gave her!" I said now very worried.
Butch's eyes went wide as he heard this "That's bad. That's really bad."
I ran as fast as I could with my busted leg to the Big House.
"Chiron!" I yelled as I ran through the door.
Chiron walked into the room seconds later.
"Yes? What is it Peter?" Chiron asked.
"Reyna's in trouble. I have to go and find her." I said.
Chiron walked up to me "I'm sorry but you can't. Gaea is going to rise tomorrow and if you go to find her you may get killed or worse both of you may perish." Chiron said.
"I can't just leave her. Who know's how long ago Skippy got hurt." I argued.
"Skippy?" Chiron asked.
"I gave her a pegasus named Skippy and he was linked to Stratus and I have no idea when it happened because I just now released him. What if Reyna died? What if Orion got her? Oh gods Chiron what if..." I kept on rambling.
Chiron put a hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sure that Reyna is okay. We just need to hope that the seven return with the Athena Parthenos and stop the war." he said with almost total certainty.
I nodded hoping the centaur was right.
"Anyway that is not important at the moment. What is important is the mission that Lou Ellen and Cecil have agreed to go on to try and sabotage those onagers that you mentioned. Are you sure that you won't come along?" Chiron asked.
"Octavian will be looking for me no doubt. We still need another person though." I said.
"I'll go." another voice spoke up.
I turned and saw Will Solace standing there dressed in all black.
"You sure you want to do this Will?" I asked as we walked out to meet the others.
Will nodded "Might as well take a risk, Gaea is going to destroy the world at sunrise, so it won't really matter unless we beat her." Will said.
I sighed "Can't argue with that logic."
Will nodded as we joined the others.
"Took you long enough." Cecil said.
"Let's just get over there alright?" Will said.
"You guy's ready?" I asked them and they all nodded.
I concentrated on the winds and then we all were slowly lifting into the air.
I navigated them through the trees and when I saw the camp I brought them down.
"Okay Lou do you think you can make it so your undetectable?" I asked.
Lou smiled "No problem."
"Good luck guys." I said and they waved goodbye.
I took off and flew back to camp.
I landed and before I even new it Stratus was next to me, turns out he didn't die, he had only dissolved back to Aeolus. Probably to get rid of the empathy link.
"Hey boy." I said as I pet him.
I climbed on top of him and made my way to the pavilion.
"We are ready Chiron. If they attack we'll be ready." Clarisse said on her blood red chariot.
All the cabins were on chariots, Grover had collected a militia of nature spirits, and Chiron had his bow with him.
I summoned my staff, for the past few days it felt like the winds were rebelling against me when I tried to use them. I had learned that the four horses meant the four wind gods, and I think that from what Jason had told me, Boreas was not a very nice god so maybe his rebellious nature caused it.
At any rate my staff felt more powerful now than it ever did even when I had first used it.
"Hopefully we won't have to fight." I said as I took my place next to Chiron.
Suddenly there was a crackling sound and I looked out onto the sound and saw three bright streaks of fire make their way to the camp.
"Oh gods." I said as the fires got closer.
Then three more shot into the sky and collided with the others.
"Times up. To arms!" Clarisse yelled.
Everyone drew their weapons and charged up the hill.
We made our way to the hill and the entire army was below us.
"You have fired against our camp!" Clarisse yelled.
"The Greeks are only distracting us!" Octavian yelled.
"Attack!" he yelled.
Then like a blessing from the gods Reyna came down with the Athena Parthenos.
The second the statue touched the ground everything seemed calmer almost...peaceful.
"Romans we must not attack the Greeks they are not our enemies." Reyna said.
"YOU ARE TOO LATE!" a voice spoke across the field.
And then the Earth Mother herself appeared.
"Defend the statue!" I yelled.
"Charge!" Clarisse yelled and the Greeks engaged the army along with the Romans.
I flew off of Stratus who collided into a monster's sword, exploding and turning the nearest monsters to dust.
I landed next to Reyna as she cut down anything in her path.
"Warhead, I was starting to think that you forgot about us." I said with a smirk.
Reyna gave me a smirk almost as crazy as mine.
"I would never forget about this Insane." she said.
Then the Argo II flew by on fire and falling apart.
The seven, minus Leo, flew down and joined the fight.
"YOU WILL NEVER WIN I WILL..." Gaea started before being picked up by a fifty ton metal dragon.
I stopped and just looked at the dragon in awe.
"Insane!" a voice came up behind me.
I turned to see Jason.
"Gracey boy!" I yelled as I high fived him.
"You should probably go join Leo." I said before smacking a monster upside the head with my staff.
"See you later." I said as they flew up.
I continued to fight next to Reyna until I looked up and saw the dragon form a huge supernova like explosion, then a fireball crashed into it causing the largest explosion I have ever seen.
I swear that the fireball sounded like a screaming person.
Gaea was defeated.
As the fire died down and the last of the monsters were killed everyone broke into a huge cheer.
"We did it Warhead!" I yelled as I picked her up and spun her around.
"Hey Insane?" Reyna asked.
"Yeah?" I responded pulling away.
"Your awfully close, don't you think?" Reyna said with a smile.
For once I didn't blush.
"Actually, I don't think I'm close enough." I said with a smile.
Reyna smiled too as I pushed my lips against hers.
I opened my eyes and I could see Jason, Piper, and Percy were grinning wickedly.
I couldn't help but smirk into the kiss.
When we pulled away Reyna was blushing wildly.
"You know something Insane?" Reyna asked.
"What's that?" I said as I linked my hand with hers.
"I think you owe me a date in the arena." she said with a smile.
I chuckled as I pulled her into another kiss.
"Tomorrow at three." I said when I pulled away.
"I'll be there." Reyna said as she walked away to check the wounded.
"I know I'll be there." I thought with a smile.
After all I love her.
