Ch. 21 The Ice Mistress
Ah yes, we left off with the two dragonesses finally arriving and Ellis was trapped in ice. Is it bad to be able to feel bad for him since he can't run away from them?
Oh well, he should just learn to accept what is happening and get it over with before he loses a limb or two. Why does he get stuck in a dragon world and I'm here in the crap one?

The tension in the room was so thick that you could cut in half with a dull knife as Ellis was frozen, literally and figuratively, in place while the Spyra and Cynder were practically drilling holes into his hide with their eyes.
"Well this is a special year isn't it?" Cyrus said after a moment. "We have all Three Legendaries in the Halls at the same time, such a thing hasn't happened in it's entire history!"
"Now isn't the time dad..." Cyril trailed off as the two dragonesses started slowly advancing on the now frantic Ellis as he tried to rip his wing free from the ice while Priscilla and Root decided that discretion was the better part of valor and left quickly.
Sadly, Spyra and Cynder didn't get more than a few feet before their were frozen in their tracks by an irate Crystal.
"And just what is going on here?!" Crystal roared as every dragon in the room paled. "I had to leave my cooking due to commotion and then I find my grandson trapped in ice and you two are acting like he killed your parents!" she finished with a serious glare at the now trapped Spyra and Cynder.
"Now now my snowflake, we were just training before those two knocked the doors down in their scramble to see their friend." Cyrus said before he shrank under her unwavering glare.
"Oh really?" she said before turning back to the two dragonesses. "And what about the main foyer and the doors?"
"They were in our way?" Spyra offered weakly as Crystal towered above her. Normally Spyra was a headstrong dragoness but in this instance her head was telling her to shut up and for once she decided to listen.
"When I release you both you had better be in the main foyer and ready to clean it from top to bottom and if I find even one small speck out of place then you will both be spending the night on the Shelf!" Crystal said angrily as the two dragonesses paled before they felt the ice melt from around their feet and they ran out of the room. "Oh no, my cooking!" Crystal realized before speeding out of the room and up the stairs.
"Can someone get me out of here now?" Ellis asked as he was a little scared from the appearance of Spyra and Cynder and Crystal extremely volatile temper. One minute she is in a big rage and the next she is worried out of her mind about her food.
How mentally stable was the family he got adopted in to?
-Scene Change-
"You know...watching that old dragon make those two clean and then sign autographs was pretty funny." Sparx said as he lounged on Ellis's shoulder as Ellis situated himself near the fire of his room with a nice bowl of meat stew on a tray and a nice glass of orange juice. "Listening to Spyra complaining about her claws after wards was just icing on the cake."
"She's going to turn you into a stuffed Dragonfly if she heard you say that." Ellis warned as he ate the stew.
"Ah she won't hurt me, I'm her bro for life." Sparx countered as Ellis shrugged. "So you get any more offers since you've been here?"
"A couple...I don't know if they were real or just pranks though." Ellis replied as Sparx snorted.
"Sure more like you were too afraid to follow through on them." Sparx teased as Ellis pushed him off his shoulder.
"Already cheating on us Ellis? You already got tired of us poor dragonesses?" Cynder said with a mock-swoon as she appeared from his shadow. "Oh woe is us."
"Crystal is gonna flip when she sees you both in here." Ellis said as Spyra gently closed the door behind her.
"What she doesn't know won't hurt." Spyra said simply as she quietly moved toward him and laid on his left. "Besides, it's worth it when you get to lay in front of a warm fire instead of an icy cave."
"I heard that." Cynder said as she stretched out on his right. "So warm and comfortable."
"Try saying that without getting your tail in my food." Ellis replied as she hastily moved her tail from smacking the bowl into his lap.
"Sorry, its been a long flight and it's nice to sleep on something soft now." Cynder said as she moved closer to the fire.
"Good fire, a nice comfortable resting place and better company; what else could you want?" Spyra asked as she rolled onto her back.
"An explanation." Crystal said with a stony face from the doorway and both dragonesses froze. "Unless given permission, females can't be in male rooms and vice versa."
"But we aren't doing anything bad, we are just catching up and lounging around." Spyra told her as Crystal's eyes narrowed.
"Just this once? We won't hurt him or try anything, we just want to enjoy these quiet moments." Cynder said from her place near the fire.
"I'm fine grandma though is there any soup left?" Ellis asked hopefully as his stomach was still growling.
"I knew one bowl wasn't going to be enough, let me get the pot." Crystal said as she went back into cheerful grandma mode.
"Why is she so scary?" Cynder asked as her feet suddenly froze in ice again.
"I heard that!" Crystal called out from the hall.
"Well she is a grandma and was the Avalar Dueling Champion when she was younger. Just because she's an elder now doesn't mean she lost any bite." Ellis retorted as Spyra's faced scrunched up before her eyes went wide.
"You mean Crystal the Ice Mistress? The only one who managed to make every one of her opponents cry during her 10-year run?" Spyra asked rapidly in horror. "The same Crystal who never showed a hint of fear or pain?"
"Yep and grandpa even has the scars to prove it." Ellis replied cheerfully as the two females paled.
"You wouldn't let her get us right?" Cynder asked hopefully as Crystal appeared in the door with a pot on her back.
"He wouldn't have a choice in the matter." Crystal said as she smirked. "No one would know when it happened." she finished with a scary laugh that freaked both females out.
"We love you Ellis..." Spyra said sweetly as she attempted to hide behind him.
"You're scaring them grandma." Ellis said simply as Crystal went back to normal.
"Oh sorry dear, force of habit when your grandfather acts up." Crystal replied cheerfully as she placed the pot down and refilled his bowl.
"So how fun was the Dueling League back then?" Spyra asked when her heart calmed down. "Now it's pretty tame and most abilities are to be toned down but what was it like back then?"
"Were there any Dark dragons?" Cynder asked as she finally got free of the ice.
"It was a lot of fun back then and still is from what I've seen and yes there are. Not as much as there use to be but there still are." Crystal replied as she laid in front of the two dragonesses and one human. "Would you like me to tell you about it?" Three nods were the reply as she smiled and cleared her throat. "Very well then, let me tell you about how I became the Ice Mistress."
Yep I figured I would leave it there and give you all more ammunition to use against me lol. I actually have a lot of fun writing this story and its nice to have something kinda normal as opposed to my other stories that were war and fight driven.
It's nice to have one that is just a slice of life fic with only a little fighting and the majority about relationship building. Very relaxing and gives me a chance to unwind from being serious all the time.
So tell me guys; from Fate/Stay Night only, Saber, Rider or Caster? Which Servant would you like snuggle up with? If your a female reading this story then Assassin, Lancer, Heracles, or Archer? Leave interesting or creative comments in your review!
Read and review and please give me a short response on the chapter before answering the question lol. A few words would suffice!
