Lightning streaked across the sky as Iron Fist snuck down the warehouse district. It was October 31st, all hallows eve. Ava, Luke, and Sam were at a Halloween party, and Peter was going to go see an exhibit at a museum, so Iron Fist was on his own. But that was how he wanted it, for he hadn't told anyone about his mission.
Biting his lip in concentration, Iron Fist's thoughts ran rampant inside his head. Okay, so in the vision, I saw Angel in some sort of warehouse… But which one? Focusing on the memory of the image, Iron Fist remembered there being a window in the wall… Think Danny! Iron Fist berated himself, What was out of the window?
Snapping his fingers, he sprinted down the docks. He had remembered! Outside of the window he had been able to see a ship named, Andromeda. So if he found the ship, he would find the warehouse. And if he found the warehouse, he would find Angel.
Half an hour later after running up and down the warehouse district, Danny spotted the ship. Racing to the warehouse across from the ship, he poured all of his anger and frustration into the iron fist. Chi energy swirled around him as he lashed out, knocking the door right out of the wall.
Rushing in, he scanned the warehouse- the first room was empty. Spotting a door on the other side of the warehouse, Iron Fist strode forward quickly. When he was halfway across the room, he heard a loud WHIIIIIIRL. Glancing up, his eyes grew wide and he barely had time to react before lasers began raining down on him.
Yelping, Iron Fist back-flipped out of the way. Dodging lasers, he ran to where the first gun was shooting at him. Leaping up, he punched it fiercely and it crumpled into ash. Barely seconds after he had destroyed the first one, he was at the next laser gun.
Iron Fist moved so quickly that he was a blur of motion. Leaping from one spot to the next. He only had thee guns left to destroy when a flash of light lit up the room and Iron Fist, fell backwards clutching his eye.
Pulling his hand off of his face, he growled when he saw that it was streaked with blood. Filled with frustration, he lashed out at the rest of the laser guns. Five minutes later, broken pieces of metal littered the ground and Iron Fist stood in the middle of the room, panting.
After he had caught his breath, Iron Fist walked slowly to the other end of the room and placed his hand upon the knob. There was a note stuck to the door. Pulling it off, Iron Fist's heart sank and all the color left his face. The note said:
DEAR BROTHER:
You're too late.
-Scorpion
Knocking down the door, he rushed in. Angel lay in a heap in the middle of the floor. Her fingers were tinged blue, her left wing was obviously broken, and her dress was bloodstained and torn.
Kneeling beside her, Iron Fist's eyes filled with tears and he pulled her up gently, hugging her tightly against his chest. Her body was freezing, as if she were slowly turning to ice from the inside out.
Tears dropped off of his cheeks, landing on her as he whispered a single heartbroken word, "Angel."
I'm trying to learn how to do cliff hangers. Whatcha think? ;)
