Amelia and Matthew quickly set Antonio down on one of the more comfortable beds on the ship before being shoved aside by Lovina. Antonio was already looking pale and worn down, even more so than before. Amelia and Matthew silently watched as Lovina unwrapped his leg again. The wound was inflamed, still not fully cleaned and altogether unhealthy looking. Amelia wordlessly handed Lovina fresh bandages and stepped back to give her room. Lovina bit her lip and re-bandaged Antonio's knee before sitting beside him and holding her head in her hands. Antonio's heart sank when he saw her shoulders shake.

"I don't know what to do" she cried quietly. Lovina looked up when she felt a clammy hand tug on her forearm.

"Don't cry belleza. Look on the bright side; if worst comes to worst, I might get a peg leg out of this" he joked. Lovina glared at him absolutely furious. "This isn't funny" she snapped. "Don't you get it? If worst comes to worst, you could die!"

Antonio leaned back and looked away guiltily. "Forgive me Lovina" he apologized softly. Antonio's eyelids drooped as he weakly cupped her cheek. "Mi amor, do you remember when you held a knife to my throat?"

Amelia cocked an eyebrow and smirked. She was a bit impressed.

"Which time?" Lovina chuckled dryly, shaking her head.

Ok, Amelia was definitely impressed. She liked this girl.

Antonio slowly brushed his thumb across her cheek and offered her a small smirk. "Oh I'm thinking of the second time. When you pressed yourself against me and you-"

Lovina put her hand over his mouth and glared. "Alright I get it. Is there a point to this?"

Antonio gently removed her hand and examined it. "I think that was when I fell in love with you belleza" he murmured softly. Lovina's eyes widened as she shook her head.

"D-Don't say that kind of stuff" she begged. Lovina wanted to curl up into a ball and cry when he flashed her a smile. That damn smile was ever present even though he could barely lift an arm and was most likely in agonizing pain.

Amelia turned away, racked with guilt. Matthew cleared his throat a little, causing her to look up at him. Matthew awkwardly nodded toward the door. Amelia recognized his notion and followed him out the door, but not before stealing one last glance at the two.

Lovina wiped away a stray tear as Antonio continued to hold her cheek. "Lovina, there's something I want to tell you" he mumbled drowsily. Lovina shook her head and bit her lip.

"Don't you dare…" Lovina trailed off as Antonio grunted a bit.

"Lovi, you make me so happy, do you realize that?"

Lovina shook her head and tried to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill over. "Antonio, stop" she begged, not ready to hear anything that resembled a goodbye in any way. Antonio mustered a weak smile and clumsily ran his hand through her hair. "I want you to see the world and go back on Rosie with the others even if I can't."

Lovina gripped his hand and bit her lip. "Tonio stop, I don't want you saying stupid things like this" she begged again. Antonio sighed and looked out the window. It was already dark, but the moon created the most amazing light that reflected of the waters.

"Lovina you said so yourself, if worst comes to worst-"

"It won't come to that!" she interrupted quickly. Antonio let out a broken chuckle and continued to stare out the window. "Lovina, can you tell me about constellations?" he requested quietly. Lovina didn't even hesitate to look out with him and search the sky. She quickly pointed out her favorites; Perseus, Lyra, Andromeda. She told him about how Perseus beheaded Medusa and saved Andromeda, who was forced to be a sacrifice to Poseidon after Cassiopeia got cocky and claimed her daughter was more beautiful than a sea nymph, and about the cursed star Algol.

Antonio didn't like Lyra so much though. Orpheus had literally gone through hell to bring back his love, only to have her disappear right before they passed through hell's gates. Definitely not his kind of story.

Lovina watched over him as he listened. She could tell he was fighting to stay awake. When she had run out of things to say, Antonio smiled and held her hand. "Will you kiss me Lovina?" he asked quietly. Lovina hated how he requested it of her. But Lovina just nodded and gently pressed her lips to his. She pulled back bitterly when she could feel how hot he'd become.

"Don't worry, we'll be back soon and we'll make you better, I promised" Lovina mumbled as she pushed back his matted hair. Lovina turned slightly to face the door when she heard footsteps.

"Amelia, are you in here?" she heard Arthur say before he opened the door. He jumped a bit when he saw the two.

"What in the-"

Arthur was cut off by the sound of something whizzing past him and just barely missing his head before smashing into the wall behind him. He looked at the floor beside him and saw shards of glass scattered on the floor. He almost fell back when he saw the enraged Italian before him. If he thought she was angry when he first got her, he was poorly underestimating her capacity for rage.

"You did this" she snarled menacingly. Arthur gulped and prayed she didn't have anything else in her hands. Something told him that she could have easily hit him if she wanted to. Arthur suddenly noticed the sick man lying on his bed and shrank back.

"Miss Vargas, As soon as we reach Venice-"

Arthur stopped talking when Lovina marched up to him and grabbed his collar. He listened guiltily as she screeched at him in Italian. His guilt worsened when her cries became less and less angry and more and more upset and terrified. Feliciana soon ran into the room followed by Ludwig, who grabbed the older twin and pulled her away from his captain. Antonio called out to her, but was drowned out by her protests against Ludwig.

"Sorella!" Feliciana finally yelled. Lovina paused as Feliciana questioned her in Italian. The three men in the room tried to follow along as Lovina spoke and gestured to Antonio. Feliciana's eyes widened when the Spaniard shot her a weak smile. The younger sister's head snapped back to Lovina as the latter continued to speak before nodding toward the man holding her back.

"Luddy, she says she won't do anything if you let her go" she explained so that Ludwig could understand. The German looked down at the girl he was holding and sighed before releasing her. "Why couldn't she say that?" he grumbled to himself.

Feliciana slowly placed her hand on his forearm. "When she's really angry, she only speaks Italian" she sighed. Ludwig's eyes widened as Feliciana turned to her sister and scolded her in the language he didn't quite understand. The older sister snapped something back, pointing to Ludwig. Feliciana froze. Her lip quivered as she stepped back a bit. Feliciana jolted when she felt Ludwig's hand on her shoulder, then completely lost it and turned to bury her head in his chest. Lovina flashed him a guilty look before going back to Antonio.

"Lovina, please. Calm down" he begged. Lovina cringed and bit her lip. "Lovi, it's going to be alright, but you have to calm down."

Lovina sniffled and wiped at her eyes. "How can I fucking calm down when you keep going on like you're not going to see me again?!" she snapped. Antonio reached for her hand and gave her a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry, I did not mean to scare you" he apologized.

"But I have thought I was going to lose you before. And before that, I was yelling at you, scolding you when you were trying to help. If those had been my last words to you…I wouldn't have been able to live with myself."

"I won't let those be your last words Carriedo."

Both Lovina and Antonio gaped at Arthur. "We'll be reaching Venice soon and I won't leave until I'm certain you've received some kind of medical care" he groaned. By now, even Feliciana and Ludwig were confused.

Arthur spun on his heel without another word and opened the door. Amelia, who had clearly been pressing her ear against the wood stumbled into him and turned bright red. Before she could stammer out an explanation, Arthur gently grabbed her arm and ushered her down the hall.

Lovina looked back to Antonio, who was barely conscious. She lightly swept away his hair and kept her eyes locked on him. Feliciana whimpered a bit and staggered out at the sight of the weakening Spaniard. Ludwig followed and grabbed her arm before she could run.

"Feliciana, what did your sister say to you?" he asked softly. He gently lifted her chin when she wouldn't answer. "Please tell me. Help me understand" he added quietly. Feliciana pulled back a little. She knew her sister didn't mean to make her feel bad, but now she couldn't look at Ludwig without feeling sad.

But the only thing worse than her being sad was Ludwig being sad. "I told her she was going too far" she explained guiltily. "And then she got even more upset and…" Ludwig slowly pulled her into a hug. It was a bit awkward and He wasn't even sure it was helping. But Feliciana soon returned it and clutched his shirt. "She told me to think about how I'd feel if the same thing happened to you" she cried.

Ludwig sighed and rubbed her back slowly. He knew her sister was only trying to justify her actions, but he also knew things like this were just too unsettling for Feliciana. The poor girl probably couldn't handle thinking of anyone going through unnecessary pain. She was too kind, too innocent to think about that.

Ludwig paused his comforting when he heard a muffled phrase come from her. He chuckled and shook his head. Sometimes his Feli could be so ridiculous. "Feliciana, I can't understand a word you're saying" he sighed lightheartedly.

Feliciana looked up and felt her cheeks become hot when she saw him smile. But this time, it wasn't just his mouth that was smiling. Ludwig's icy blue eyes were even brighter than they usually were which only made words harder to form.

"Ti amo" she repeated. Ludwig's eyes widened. He didn't know much Italian, but he knew that one. Feliciana buried her head in his chest once again as he stared at her. "Please don't get hurt or leave me. I don't think I could be strong like my sorella" she sobbed quietly. Ludwig was still speechless.

This girl had managed to become everything to him in such a short time. He didn't think of what would happen when they brought her home. She'd be gone just as soon as she'd come into his life. 'What ifs' flooded the young German's mind as he held her tighter. He really didn't want to be separated from her.

"Feliciana?"

The Italian slowly picked up her head and glanced up at Ludwig. He gently pushed back a piece of her shorter hair. "I promise to stay by your side. I won't leave you. Understand?"

Feliciana smiled and nodded. Ludwig smiled back and sighed. "Ich liebe dich" he added quietly. Feliciana gigged a bit when she saw the hint of red playing at his cheeks. This was so unlike Ludwig!

But Feliciana was just happy she could make him act this way.
