A/N: Sorry, I know its been a while guys, started my first year of Uni and it's been hectic, actually had exams last week. Anyways, I'll try to upload more often, this story is close to an end so I'll try not to drag it out.. Anyways enjoy!

She listens closely as Casey slowly opens her eyes and whispers "Livy..."

Casey POV

"Case? Oh my God! Casey!" she got closer, holding her hand tightly.

Casey was having difficulty talking "Water..." she whispers hoarsely. Olivia quickly got up and got her a glass of water "Thanks" she tries to sit up but winces at the pain that shots through her body, she groans.

"Hey, don't try to get up" Olivia says soothingly "I'll go get the doctor"

She starts getting up but Casey grasp her wrist tightly "Please don't leave me" she says with tears in her eyes.

"I won't but we need the doctor to look you over...I'm just gonna go right to the door ok? You'll be able to see me the whole time" she nods hesitantly, slowly releasing her grip. Olivia goes to the door, getting the attention of a nearby nurse asking her to page the doctor.

"Mommy?" Olivia hears Luke say tearfully, she turns around to see him standing at the bathroom door staring over at Casey, he was crying.

"Oh Luke..." Casey says sadly "Come here sweetie" she holds out her arms.

He rushes over before stopping prematurely "I-I won't hurt you will I?"

"No you won't Buddy, I need one of your hugs right now" she smiles sadly over at him. He looks at the Detective wanting her approval, she nods at him and he rushes over to his mom.

"I missed you so much Mommy...I was so scared" he cries "Livy was scared too, she tried to act like she wasn't but I know she was..."

"Ssh, it's ok baby, it's all gonna be ok" she soothes him as tears ran down her cheek. She looked over at the brunette, motioning for her to come closer. Olivia walked over, hugging her closely while being careful of her injuries.

"Well, I'm glad to see someone is awake, you gave us all, quite a scare for a moment" the trio turned to the door to find a smiling Doctor James. "How are we feeling?"

"Like crap...When can I get out of here?"

"Same old Casey" the doctor smiles, checking over her chart before speaking "Given the severity of your injuries I'm thinking of keeping you for a couple days yet"

"How many days we talking?" she asks sharply.

"Casey..." Olivia scolds.

"Liv..."

"How about we check you over first before I give you a definite time line?" the Doctor asks.

"Fine..." she sighs.

"Ok, on a scale of 1-10 how bad is the pain?"

"Three..."

"Casey...I saw how you reacted to moving..." Liv started.

"Fine...it's more like a five, seven when I move"

"Ok, I'll have a nurse come in and increase your morphine" says making a note on her chart.

"No!" she says trying to sit up before freezing in pain "Damn it!"

"Casey!" Olivia jumps up helping her to lie back. "Will you stop...please!" she begged when she saw Casey about to retort.

The redhead hung her head a bit, regaining her composure "I-I'm sorry Liv...I just don't want to feel out of it...I want to be in control, at least for now" she says sadly.

"Ok, I'll get something that doesn't make you as loopy how about that" Dr James offered.

"Thank you..." she murmurs.

"Now we need to check your injuries...Olivia why don't you get Luke something to eat from the machine" the doctor suggested, not wanting them to see what's about to happen.

"No!" Casey shouts exasperated "I need her"

"I'll get a nurse to take Luke" Olivia says.

After they got Luke out of the room, nurses helped turned Casey onto her belly to dress the welts on her back. Dr James turn to the detective "Are you sure you can handle this?"

"I'm fine, she needs me plus I'll have to do it when we get home so I need to know what to do...I saw them before anyways" she added sadly, she refused to leave the room when the nurses had come to redress them in the past couple of days.

The doctor nods, telling the nurses to proceed. Olivia holds onto Casey's hand running her thumb along the veins. The redhead holds onto her with a death grip as they dressed the lacerations on her back, tears rushing down her face, Olivia wipes them away.

After it was over, she kissed her on her forehead and whispered "You did so good baby, I'm so proud of you"

"Well, the lacerations seem to be healing up quite nicely, if this continues I can see you going home in the next couple days. Thankfully, it doesn't seem that your head injuries are anything to cause concerns... the pain medication should hold you over for a while, if needed, press this button here to your right and it will release another dose and I'll check in on you again later. I'm glad you're awake Casey"

"Thanks Doc" Olivia acknowledges as Casey just scooted closer to her "I have to call the Cap' and Liz" she moves away slightly "My bag is over by the door" she explains when Casey looks at her scared.

Luke rushes back into the room, running over to his mom "You're still awake" he says excited.

"Of course I am...hey..." she says lifting his chin so he was looking at her "Even when I go to sleep, I'm gonna wake up ok. I promise"

He nods "Ok" leaning his head back into her lap as she strokes his hair.

By the time Olivia got off the phone Luke was fast asleep, she goes to move him off the bed but Casey stops her "Let him stay..." she murmurs.

The detective nods sitting in the chair "Everyone should be here in a few, they were all happy to hear that you're awake...I'm happy you're awake"

She smiles, gently stroking the brunette's face "How are you...Really?"

"I'm fine" Olivia says looking over at a peacefully sleeping Luke.

she didn't believe her for a minute "I don't want the big bad detective answer, I want Livy's answer How are you?"

She finally lets the pent up tears escape "I was so scared Case...I was so scared that I was gonna lose you. I had to be strong for Luke but I was...I thought I lost you" she says softly.

"I'm gonna be fine... and you wanna know why?" she says waiting until the detective looked into her eyes "Cause I have you and as long as I have you and Luke I'll be okay...Charlie doesn't get to win...I won't let her"

"I love you so much Casey" she pulls the detective closer as she cries.

"I love you too...so much" she kisses Olivia gently.

As they pull away they hear the door open as Abby walking in, dragging along a reluctant Serena. Olivia pulls away from Casey wiping away her tears "Hey guys"

"Hey Case how are you feeling?"

She didn't answer but instead look towards Serena who had yet to move from the door "It's ok Serena, you can come in" she says softly.

The blonde slowly walks towards her not wanting to trigger any flashbacks. She makes her way to stand next to Abby who pulls her hand around her waist. Casey smile at her sadly "How are you?" the blonde asks hesitantly.

"I'm ok, I was in a bit of pain before but the meds helped" she smiles trying to reassure her friends.

"Ok good..." the blonde lets out a breath.

"You can hug me Serena, I know you want...Just not too tight and don't wake Luke up"

"Really?"

"Really...Come here"

the blonde hugs her loosely, memories of Charlie on top of her threatened to resurface, she closes her eyes tightly willing them away. She tried not to tense but as Serena pulls away she knows she had. Thankfully her blonde friend didn't seem bothered by it as she smiles at her "I'm so glad you're ok Casey"

"You ok?" Olivia asks softly.

"I'm fine Liv...I promise"

A few minutes later the prosecutors left as Liz walked into the room "Casey Novak if you ever scare me like that again..." the judge says as she makes her way over to the bed, hugging slightly.

"Hi Liz"

"You scared the heck out of me young lady"

"I'm... Sorry?"

"Don't do it again... Olivia almost lost her mind"

"I won't..." she says looking over at her smiling detective.

"So...How are you doing?"

"I'm ok, glad to be alive" The room become silent for a minute "Now I just want to get out of here...Not a fan of confined spaces at the moment"

"Just a few more days" the brunette responds. "Then we get to go home" the detective says looking into her emerald green eyes.

"I'm gonna go...give you guys some time, get some rest Casey and I'll check in on you tomorrow ok" the blonde says before leaving.

The room was once again silent as they both breathe in each others presence "What are you thinking about?" the detective breaks the silence.

"I never thought I'd get to have this...you, Luke, being rid of Charlie. I just can't believe its actually real"

"It's real Baby...it's so real"

At lock up...

Abby's POV

"Hello Charlotte" Abby says smiling as the blonde is brought to sit across from her.

"My name is Charlie" the blonde says angrily.

"I have some news for you Charlotte... You've finally been processed so you get to transferred to Rikers Women facilities..."

"Why are you here to tell me that?"

"Oh cause I wanted to see your face when you found out Casey is wide awake, I mean I even walked in on her having a very heartfelt conversation with Detective Benson...Kinda made me sad to break them apart actually" she says smiling, she could see that she was getting to her.

"You stupid Bitch!" the blonde flies out of her chair, the guard restrained her. "She loves me, he'll always love me you dumb bitch!"

Abby smiles darkly "Actually...I'm positive she isn't in love with you, I mean she and Detective Benson were having a really deep conversation" she walks up so she is almost nose to nose with the blonde "You see, you got away with it cause you had power over Casey, you don't anymore, so guess what...I am going to destroy you...See you in court Charlotte...Oh and a message from Olivia..." she turns smiling while walking away from her before closing the door she says "You lose"
