It probably meant nothing to him. To act so kindly toward a perfect stranger seemed to come naturally to him, normal and unworthy of mention. But it meant the world to Riku. To him, a single day of mercy could outshine a lifetime of suffering. It might even free him completely. Who knows? Maybe that boy will be the one to lift his curse, and guide him to the light. 21. REVAMP ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello, my darlings!

First of all, I would like to offer my most sincere apologies for the three-year hiatus. Long story short, I was finishing college and moving in and out of two new jobs. But now I'm fully graduated and it is a HUGE load off my shoulders! With things finally calming down, I've been picking up writing again! (Some of you may have seen the one-shot I posted earlier and thought, "Hmm, sure would be nice if she…I dunno…FINISHED THAT KH CHAPTER FIC AND DIDN'T ABANDON IT" and I hear ya. I have not forgotten you!)

So now I'm updating to announce that I will be revamping A Day of Mercy. I've grown a bit in the last few years and my writing has developed as well, and I want to present this story in its best possible form. I would try and finish it first, but to tell you the truth, I've completely and totally forgotten where I was going with it. The core of the story will be the same, but I plan to sort out some of the details that made it clunky or that may have been confusing. I'd also like to expand the narrative to really round out the characters more.

Now, I work fast—so I think the best way to do this will be to crank out the revamp, and then replace the chapters in one go. That way the followers won't be completely screwed, and returning readers won't have to wait for updates and wonder what changed from chapter to chapter.

So I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my nerdy heart for your ongoing interest and support, and beg your indulgence while I do some serious maintenance on my longest, most involved story to date. Try to turn your frustrations into hype.

I also plan to cross-post the finished product on AO3, for anyone who prefers that platform.
