authors notes: lvl 21...i mean chapter 21 srry, ok so hopefuly day 2 of their time in Haven will be a one chapter only, i plan for the school trip to be on the 3rd or 4th day (that might be along chapter) and then the 5th day No.1 returns and then Artemis and Holly leave on the 6th day to return to fowl manor so hopefuly it will take about 7 chapters maybe 8 until Minerva's wedding or maybe more idk what i might add...or do I...

chapter 21: party plans

8:00pm Holly's apartment

Holly had been up for the past half hour preparing for the events of the day, today was the day they would get most of the planning and arrangments done for No.1s return party, it was planned to be a really busy day after all they had to decide what to have for food and who should prepare what, they already have a location set which leaves only decoration for that part, there also had to be some sort of D.J because 'a party without music is no party at all' -Juliet, so with quite alot ahead Holly had decided to get a head start on the day while Artemis slept, she figured that the young genius will probaby take a few minutes to get ready anyway so she decided to take advantage of that and prepare a breakfast for the two of them, she was standing infront of the oven when she heard her bedroom door open and foot steps coming out of the room.

"Good morning Arty" Holly all but sung as Artemis entered the kitchen

"Good morning Holly, what are you cooking it smells great" Exclaimed Artemis, Holly smiled as she looked towards Artemis who was dress in a pair of dark blue jeans and a plain black tee that showed off Artemis's new muscles perfectly, Holly was caught off gaurd by Artemis's clothes and found herself thinking of how handsome Artemis looked in normal clothes "Holly? oh Holly? i asked what are you cooking not if you could catch a fly with your mouth open" Stated Artemis with a slight smile as Holly shook herself out of her gawking

"oh sorry, im cooking my specialty" Replied Holly who looked back towards the frying pan, Artemis was integued of course however it didnt take long for hi to relise what it was Holly was cooking however he decided to ask anyway

"and what might that be?" Artemis asked with his head sightly tilted to the side, Holly turned back to Artemis with a bright smile as she replied

"Why pancakes of coarse" Exclaimed Holly with a bright smile

"Wonderful a great breakfast is allways needed to start off the day especially when the day consists of planning" Replied Artemis with a smile of his own, he then made his way to the table where they would eat and took a seat so as to watch Holly prepare their meal

"You would know wouldnt you" Stated Holly as she gazed at her friend who was seated behind her at the table

"Of coarse i would know after all i am the planner of our group of friends" Stated Artemis who continued to watch as Holly made sure not to burn their breakfast

"Oh yeah? and what of Foaly then?" Retorted Holly with a smile

"Foaly is the 'tech guy' of coarse and in all our adventures i believe Foaly has been the 'man with the keys' so to speak, he gets us into the places we need to be and he supplies technical help when needed" Replied Artemis

"Ok ok i get it, your the planner, so i can leave all of todays planning to you then while me and Caballine go to the spa to relax?" Holly replied with a devilish tone

"Very funny Holly, i might be good at panning however i will need your help for contacting buisiness's around haven, and perhaps you could sweet talk some deals given your great nogotiation skills" Replied Artemis with his signiture vampire smirk, Holly didnt say anything as she brought the pan off of the oven and flopped the pancakes onto a plate she then sat down acrossed from Artemis and started to eat the pancakes slowly letting Artemis absorb the information placed infront of him "Holly?"

"Hmm?" questioned Holly quitly whith her fork still in her mouth

"Where is my breakfast?" Artemis saw the position he was in and he knew that if he was unlucky then Holly could be merciless and force him to work for his food and if he was lucky...well there's little chance of that happening with Holly so Artemis waited to hear her demands. Holly remained still thinking of ways to take full advantage of the situation she could make Artemis do something embarrassing or to get him to reveal something embarrassing, something he wouldnt want getting out, something she has been trying to figure out for the past months, once she decided on her choice of action she grew a wicked smile that sent shivers running down Artemis's spine and when she spoke he neary toppled his chair over

"if you want breakfast then tell me Arty who is it that you admire, you know the girl that you said you'd introduce me to at Minerva's wedding, the one that has caught your eye" Holly hoped that she had said all of that calmly, she didnt need Artemis picking up on her emotions...not yet anyway. Artemis sat there quite for a moment contemplating his next move and if he wanted breakfast he would have to plan carefully so he sat there thinking and when he had came up with a suitable plan he made his move, he stood up and walked over to Holly who froze with her fork in her mouth as Artemis Leaned towards her ears so his mouth was inchs away, Hollys heartbeat was going crazy at this point and so was Artemis's however he had to remain calm for this to work and so ever so smoothly he spoke which caused a shiver to run down Holly's spine

"Holly it isnt polite to pry into peoples personal buisiness beilieve me little good comes out of it and as i said before i am the planner" the last bit confused Holly and that was when Artemis swiftly pulled away and made his way back to his chair with the second plate of pancakes that was behind Holly, when Holly relised what had happened she attempted a wity comeback however whenever she attemted to speak all that would come out was a slight muffle 'since when could he render me speechless like that' thought Holly as his words rang through her head, his soft, smooth and soothing voice 'stop that' Holly scourned herself after all now was not the time to think of stuff like that after all they had a party to plan.

Artemis and Holly ate their breakfast in silence after that, it wasnt an awkward silence and in actually both found it rather pleasent to just 'soak the other in' as they sat there eating breakfast. Once they had finished with their breakfast and had placed the dishes in the sink it was tie for them to head off, they would start at police plaza and make that as a 'base of operations' they would make calls from there and set the deliverys for there as well and of coarse it was most of police plaza attending along with medical warlocks and a few classic warlocks (A.N idk whatever qwan is...) as No.1 is usualy involved with these groups one way or the other so they were all invited to welcome him home and seeing as police plaza had the perfect space for such an event it only made sence to host it there. So thats where Artemis and Holly were off to at the moment as they made their way out of Hollys apartment and down the streets of haven, the same way they had taken the day before Artemis of coarse was in his elven form as to not give any of the people a heart attack at the sight of a Mudman in Haven and the fact that if anyone from the fan club that was created by a few (hundred) females saw him it would be as they say "game over" and his time with Holly and possibly his time on this planet would be cut short and he realy didnt want that to happen.

The two had walked for quite the distance in silence until Artemis noticed something about the park they sat in yesterday, There was a gathering of what apearred to be young women looking at some sort of statue while taking what teens refered to as a "selfie", this peaked Artemis's curiousity as he remembered that even a statue of King Frond someone who should be respected was dissrespected no a days, so letting curiousity come over him he decided to investigate

"Hey Holly whats going on over there?" Artemis motioned to the group, Holly turned and looked in the direction where Artemis had motioned towards, as she studied the scene she too grew confused and curious as to what was going on

"I dont know Arty...howbout we take a look?" Holly made this more of a statement then a question however Artemis didnt complain as they made there way over to the group and once they got close enough they could see what the big ruckus was about, unfortunitly it landed them smack dab in the middle of the Artemis fowl fan club who had gathered to take pictures of Artemis's statue that had been erected for his sacrifice and of coarse one of the girls just so happen to recognize Holly and when the girl pointed it out to everyone then all hell broke loose as Holly was swarmed by high pitched girls asking her a ton of questions related to Artemis like "whats Artemis's favorite color?" "what does Artemis like to eat?" "do you have feelings for Artemis?" "are you two going to date? if not can you tell him im single" and more questions along those lines All Holly could do was stand there and listen to them ask about Artemis 'they have no dignity' thought Holly 'they want him only for his reputation...its sick' 'if you find it so sick why dont you end it by declairing your love right here right now' came a voice from deep inside Holly who shuddered at the thought of how much it sounded like Juliet 'i cant, Artemis is right there...and ...and' luckly Holly didnt need to think any more on the fact as the young females quited down as Artemis made his way through to Holly, the mob might have pushed him away from her when they struck but he wouldnt go away without a fight and even ended up raising his voice to quite them down

"Are you allright Holly?" Artemis asked as soon as he made his way to Holly who looked up at him with soft eyes as she gave him a nod "thats good...now then what is going on here?" Artemis decided to play dumb after all if they found out he was the great Artemis fowl he was sure that him and Holly woud have to make a break for it which now that he tought about it might be a little fun however they would probably interupt their plans...and maybe not just No.1's party

"We are the Artemis fowl fanclub branch #1, we are all fans of the human known as Artemis fowl who was had quite a few adventures with miss Short there...dont you know anything at all?" asked a blonde pixie who Artemis marked as the head of the club

"Oh.. i see now, you all like that dispicable mudman who kidnapped Holly, put her in danger multiple times and even managed to endanger all fairy races on multiple occasions" Artemis said this in a somewhat angry tone to coe across as a "hater" of Artemis fowl 'ha if only they knew the sorrow he felt over those times' he thought when the leader spoke up again

"In despite of all that he saved the people multiple times, even more then when he put us in danger he even sacrificed his life for all of Haven and you dare call him names?" now the blonde was furious 'i imagine Holly would be too' thought Artemis as the leader stepped closer and grabbed Artemis by the coller of his shirt

"Say one more bad thing about him and i'll knock you out" threatened the head of the club, Artemis looked down and saw hatred in her eyes a similer hatred as what was once in Holly's eyes, Artemis smiled which caused the pixie to look at him in confusion, Holly chuckled at the scene as she thought 'if only that poor pixie knew who she was threatining

"Do you even know who Artemis fowl is? have you met him? I doubt you do so why get so angry, after all you wouldnt want Artemis to see you angry would you?" Artemis spoke flatly and the last part made Holly's ears perk up a bit 'he wouldnt reveil himself would he? does he have a death wish?' Holly had thought to herself as the young pixie let go of Artemis's coller and stepped back a bit, even more confuesed then ever

"Wha...what does that mean?" asked the pixie who just staired at Artemis along with the other members of the fanclub of coarse everyone was confused as to what this stranger meant with his words

"Its simple it means that me and Holly are going to take our leave now, after all she knows Artemis better then anyone" Replied Artemis who swung his Arm to interlock with Holly's once that as done he practicly dragged her out of the crowd and back to the road, the fangirls just looking at them in confusion and his words stuck themselves into the pixies mind "do you even know who Artemsi fowl is" that was a hard question

Artemis and Holly walked several blocks with their Arms enterlocked neither of the two wanted to pull a part however when people started stairing (or when Holly felt people stairing) she decided to pull away thinking 'not yet'

"You know you nearly gave me a heart attack back there?" Holly broke the silence while pulling her arm out of his and bringing it up to cross her own arms

"I wonder why?" Questioned Artemis with a slight smile

"You sounded like you were going to tell them who you really are do you know what could have happened if they found out?" Holly said with anger

"I am a genius you know Holly and as well as a master tactician, nothing goes according to plan or shall i say out of plan because i create plans for all outcomes" Replied Artemis who was full of himself

"So again you can plan this party by yourself while Myself and Caballine take a spa day?" Asked Holly with a bright smile which caused Artemis to fall of his high horse

"I cant play that card today can I?" Artemis asked this as a question however it came out more like a statement, all Holly did was smile as the two continued walking down the streets of Haven towards police plaza. On the way they visited a few shops Artemis had seen the day before and wanted to check out while they were there and Holly couldnt resist whenever he said it was imperative to the party plans, even if it wasnt he was acting like a normal teenager...or was he an adult now there was a bunch of time influinced adventures which set her pinpointing of historic events in her life a little bit off especialy when it came to Artemis's age, this confusion caused her to stare at Artemis trying to guess his physical age 'somewhere around 20' concuded Holly as she continued to stare at Artemis this time she was just admiring his looks, a sight blush rose to her cheek as she noticed Artemis was looking at back at her

"is everything allright Holly?" Artemis asked as Holly tried to avoid Artemis's gaze

"everythings fine" Replied Holly who wasnt even sure of her own answer, Artemis however decided to leave Holly be after all it would be terrable if he managed to upset her today after all the planning would probably upset her anyway

"How old are you anyway?"

"what?" Asked Artemis as Holly's question had came out of the blue

"i asked how old are you. with all of our adventures involving time i had lost count of your age" Replied Holly who continued to stare at Artemis who had became silent as he pondered the question himself

"I have the physical appearance of a 16 year old, or so im told. The goverments records lists me as 23 and my actual age is 19" Replied Artemis as he made eye contact with Holly

"So, you are technicaly an adult?" Asked Holly however it came out more as a statement.

"Yes, i guess so." Replied Artemis with a smile.

"So, what do you have planned so far?" Asked Holly.

"well, we shall need a Dj for music which intitles dancing, we shall also need some catering so everyone has enough energy to perform the usual party activities." Replied Artemis as he turned and started walking in the direction of police plaza.

"I asked what do you have planned, as in who is going Dj, and who is going to cater?" Asked Holly as she took off behind Artemis.

"Well, after some research i have found a Restraunt that should meet to everybodys standards. Now as for a Dj i have yet to find one due to my lack of...knowledge in this territory." Artemis said the last part a bit quiter, after all Artemis and 'lack of knowledge' dont fit too well together.

Holly sighed "well i guess its up to me to find a Dj then...or i could try to hand it off to Foaly or Mulch, but i dont think anyone would like the outcome." Said Holly with a smile.

Artemis returned her smile and the two continued to walk in a peaceful quite, that is until they reached the bustling of Police plaza. Artemis and Holly walked through the crowd of the plaza's main lobby, they had to fight through the pack of goblin and dwarf mothers who demanded the release of their "innocent" children. 'innocent? i hardly think so with my experiance.' thought Artemis as he managed to overhear one of the goblin mothers. After the two had managed to escape the mob unharmed they made thier way towards the gymnasium for Artemis's calculations, on the way Artemis noticed a particularly familiar room. Holly had wondered why Artemis had stopped, however it became clear once she noticed which room he had stopped in front of.

"Artemis?" Called Holly in hopes to pull Artemis from his thoughts.

"this room, it was the first thing i saw in Haven...and the second time i saw you." commented Artemis who continued to look in through the doorway

"yes it is." Replied Holly with a faint smile at the memory

"perhaps you could tie me to the chair and question me about goblins and batteries." Artemis noticed the slight confusion in Hollys face as he asked this "you know, for old time sake."

Holly smiled "Yeah, well then maybe i should give you a couple to the head for 'old time sake'." Replied Holly who had a fist raised.

"no thank you." Replied Artemis as he continued his way to the gymnasium, with Holly following behind.

"Aww, why not." Asked Holly as she followed behind.

Artemis sighed "Because i do not wish for any bodily harm to come to me when i have done nothing to deserve it in the first place." Replied Artemis who turned to face his companion as they walked

"soooo, i can cause bodily harm when you do deserve it then." Asked Holly with a slightly innocent expresion

Another sigh " If i have done anything that may deserve a strike from you it has to be well deserved, i mean i would have to have done something stupid to insane to deserve a strike...or if i have hurt you in any way, those are the conditions, you understand?" Explained Artemis who had changed to his buisiness tone.

"I understand." Replied Holly who didnt really care for the conditions Artemis had set, after all she was one for breaking the rules.

"good, now shall we start concentrating on the party, for No.1's sake?" Artemis glanced back towards Holly as he asked this.

"allright, so whats first?" Asked Holly.

"well, first we shall, or rather I shall take measurements of the gymnasium and start planning on where everything will be set up." exclaimed Artemis as they finaly made it to the gymnasium.

"the gymnasium is more like a hall actually, and the dimensions are 120 feet by 65 feet, in human measurement." Exclaimed commander Kelp as he 'snuck up' on Artemis and Holly.

"why Commander it is great you could join us, and thank you for the dimensions, we can now move along a bit faster then expected, however i still must look at the hall to determine where everything shall be set up." Replied Artemis as he gave a slightly fake smile in the direction of the commander.

"of coarse, go right ahead. I wouldnt want to interupt your planning, just thought i could be of some service." Exclaimed the commander as he followed the too inside, he switched on the lights once he was in, seeing as niether Artemis or Holly could find the light switch.

The room itself was quite large for fairy standards, and could easily hold up to a few hundred people with tables and chairs. Artemis took a quick glance around the room once the lights had been turned on, within that time he had allready started laying out floor plans in his head. there as a stage at one end of the hall on the right side of the door, Artemis noted that the staged was riged with all sorts of lighting systems and he noted the speakers placed in each corner of the room. Artemis had been in the space for less then a minute and allready he had formed a layout.

"allright, obviously the Dj station shall be center stage, we will need to decorate the stage so the sound equipment will look as if apart of the stage, and then it is quite obvious the dance floor shall be infront of that with the seating arrangements in the back, along with a buffet agienst one of the side walls, I would recomend a master table, one where everyone who is friends with the guest of honour shall sit, however i doubt No.1 will be sitting much, what with this being a party and all." Artemis stated as he motioned his arms to show where everthing would be placed.

"It sounds like a plan." stated the Commander.

"That it does" Agreed Holly "so, who gets which job?"

"well, i figure Foaly and I can do all the electrical set up for lihts and sound. That leaves food, decorating- which will be handled by anyone who wishes to help, and a Dj, so take your pick." stated Artemis.

"I can handle the food Arrangments, I have little work to do so I can run around asking everyone attending what kind of food they like and then find the right caterer." Replied the commander.

"Thank you commander, I have a place in mind if that would help." commented Artemis who actually gave a sincere smile.

"I imagine it will, so thank you aswell." Replied the commander.

Holly looked beteen the to in confusion 'I thought this would go alot more...rough with the commander here, but those two seem to be getting along now.' This thought still managed to bring on a headach as Holly was trying to find out what in fronds name had happened to these two.

"Well then, I better be off, i do have quite a task ahead of me." stated the Commander as he took his leave.

"What shall i do then?" Asked Holly as she leaned agienst the door frame.

"Hmmm...there seems to be only one job left that a single person can do and that is the search for a Dj." Stated Artemis as he moved towards Holly.

"I might need a bit of help with that task, i have no clue where to start looking." Exclaimed Holly as she and Artemis moved to the Hall. After Artemis had closed the doors again they made their way to the Ops booth.

"do you want to knock? or shall i open the doors like last time?" Asked Artemis as the two had finally reached the Ops booth.

"Hmmm, it would be rude for us to just barge in, and who knows what foaly might be doing, he could be working on a top secret project or he could be doing something completly embarrasing." Holly really hoped that Artemis had caught her subtle hints on what he should do.

"you do have a point, so will you do the honours." Replied Artemis who motioned for Holly to knock. 'how dissapointing' thought Holly, however right before her knuckles made contact the doors came flying open and inside was a confused centaur who had snapped his neck in their direction like a kid would do when his parents walked in on him doing something they shouldnt, and low and behold, when Holly looked up at the monitors she could see why, for there playing on the monitors was a human soap opera. Holly laughed for what felt like 50 years, Artemis lauhed for about half that time.

"I swear Artemis if you ever open that door without knocking again, i will send every fangirl an email telling them about your elven identity, and watch as you get swarmed in a neverending sea of fangirls and the press who will no doubt show up to watch aswell." threatned Foaly, this is where Artemis' laughing stopped while Holly continued

"I am sorry my friend, its just that...it was to tempting to refuse, and in all honesty i thought you would just be working not..." Artemis trailed off as he looked to the screen again and he had to steel himself for the laughter that was threatening to burst out from him.

"well...now you know." Replied Foaly who had gone almost as red as old beetroot himself.

"I cant believe you Foaly, soap opera's?... really? I dont care if their human or not, a soap opera is a soap opera." Stated Holly as she came out of her fit of laughter

"At any rate!" Foaly said sharply "what are you two doing here anyway" Foaly just now turned the monitors off, with Holly looking like she would burst if they stayed on a second longer

"yes, buisness it is...we need you to come up with the electrical plans for No.1's return party, i shall help in anyway i can. We need lights and sound and any other ideas we come up with while we're at it." Stated Artemis as he got down to buisness.

"Hmmm, its all rather simple i guess...however we cant work on the sound part untill we have a Dj, but its all quite simple so i guess i can help...if you promise to never tell a living soul, or a dead one for that matter, about what you two just witnessed." Foaly exclaimed.

"Agreed." Artemis and Holly replied in unison.

"Alright then, I shall gladly help out then." Foaly replied as he switched the display of his monitors, 'no need for more embarasment' thought Foaly.

"Well, i guess i better get to work on my part then, i have a Dj to find." stated Holly as she waved at the two as she left the booth.

"Allright, good luck Holly." Artemis said as he waved back.

"Happy hunting." Said Foaly with a slight smile.

'Hunting'? like Holly would ever do some actual hunting, she was just on the look out for a Dj...she wasnt going to kill anything, unless opal popped up in front of her but that is completly different. Holly had decided to search on foot simply for the excercise, she decided that the local nightclubs would have the best possible odds of finding a Dj, and if not then she would look around Haven for any advertisment

'this isnt going to end well.' Thought Holly, and she may be right.

Authors notes: ...so, it took awhile to write this...i hope you all like it...i will hopefully continue at a faster pace from now on, next chapter we will follow Holly on her search... might throw in some romantic thoughts about Artemis (Holly's thoughts btw)...so yeah...chapter 21 done...finally, until next time
