S.R: So…. Now that the bases are loaded lets finish this up with a grand slam ending.
Natsu: How is me fighting considered a grand slam ending?
Erza: Natsu he's got other things that are going to be thrown in. I can tell by the gleam in his eye.
S.R: Yup…. Let's just say this isn't going to be a straight forward fight chapter. I will have it in segments so I can add other things in for comedic effect oh and speed is different than in the real world. 50 miles an hour for them is like 1 mile for us. So no reviews complaining about how Natsu and Zeref got so far away last chapter.
Natsu: Bastard. Just let me fight already.
S.R & Erza: NO!
S.R: Now I'ma need you two to leave so that what happens doesn't get leaked to the public before I post this, oh that and I need you two to spread the word about my poll for the next story I do. I want at least 30 votes all together on it before I do anything. Don't forget to tell people 'bout it!
Erza: We won't. Come Natsu we're gonna go tell everyone we see about it on our way home.
Natsu: Home… wait are we going home to do something fun?
Erza: Maybe… *Walks out with Natsu right behind her*
S.R: For those of you wondering how I can make the fight as long as it will be it's because Natsu has far more moves and abilities than just what he has and what I gave him in the past. Now then…. STORY TIME!
*picking up where we left off with Makarov, Porlyusica, Mira, and Erza*
ERZA'S POV
I watched master come back into the hut but Natsu didn't follow him. Apparently I wasn't the only one that noticed seeing as how Mira asked him where Natsu was. "Natsu is protecting us at the moment. I figured out why Zeref was after Natsu when he was a baby and explained it to Natsu. He went to lure Zeref away to fight him so that we could safely get Erza and their baby through this and into hiding." Mira went to help Natsu when master stopped her. "Master let me go help Natsu!" She screamed as he prevented her from leaving. "No! Mira you have to help Porlyusica get Erza through this. I'm here as to protect you guys in case Natsu fails. In other words none of us here can help Natsu in any way other than what we're doing now."
That made Mira deflate as she let his words sink in. "Let's get this over with soon. Natsu will need help and I will not fail him when he needs me." Mira ordered as she and Porlyusica set to work.
*meanwhile with Natsu*
NATSU'S POV
Zeref and I were standing in the center of the cave gramps told me about. We were staring each other down as we walked in a circle. "Natsu before we start I have to tell you… I have a split personality. I'm telling you this so if I suddenly seem different you don't think it's a trick… Why do I want you to know this? Because I want to make this fight fair. It's no fun killing someone in an unfair fight." Zeref told me before rushing in and trying to uppercut me. I did a back flip and slammed my right foot into his face before springing away. I then launched myself at him with my Fire Dragon's Iron Fist. He dodged it so I continued the swing down into the ground making rocks and dust fly everywhere so I'd have the advantage. After sniffing him out I used my Fire Dragon's Flame Elbow to try and slam my fist into his face but he somehow managed to block and drove his fist into my stomach sending me flying.
"I know you have more than your fire dragon magic. Use it. Use everything you've got!" Zeref taunted me before disappearing and reappearing behind me. He then roundhouse kicked the back of my head sending me into the wall of the cave. I pulled myself out and activated my smoke dragon magic, along with my chaos flame dragon magic and holy flame dragon magic. The fire dragon flames which were red where joined by a deep green flame (chaos flame), a sky blue flame (holy flame) and started to produce smoke. "You want to see my power. Well here's more of it. I call this my Smoking Trinity dragon mode. Now let's see what you've got!" I cried out as I sped towards him roughly 10 times faster than before. In the blink of an eye I went from being in front of him to behind him. I drove my fists into his back in a barrage of blows. Before pulling back and using my Chaos Dragons Brilliantly holy flame.
*meanwhile with Gray, Laxus, and Gildarts*
"I know gramps told us Natsu was going to be fighting in a faraway location to protect everyone but damn! I can sense his magic from where ever he is!" Gray said as he finished putting the crib together. Gildarts just laughed and said it's because Natsu became strong enough to surpass even him. Laxus just sniffed the air before saying "He's in the cave gramps used to train in. If we can sense him from there then he's not just stronger than you Gildarts. He's strong than gramps now. That cave is 120 miles away from town." Grays jaw dropped through the floor at how powerful Natsu became through training with the dragons. Gildarts just grinned saying he found his heir to the title of "Guild Ace". Once Gray recovered they went back to work before hearing someone at the door. Gray went to answer and found Lucy who told him "Mira just called me and told me to get your asses in hyper drive. They'll be bringing Erza home in about 5 hours." Gildarts and Laxus laughed at her as they came down to get drinks, while Gray knowing what she was capable of did exactly as she said.
"How'd she scare Gray into doing that? She's not that strong or scary." Laxus asked Gildarts only for them to feel an evil aura coming off Lucy. "Do you two want to lose your manliness?" She asked as she pulled her whip from her side. "N-no ma'am!" Gildarts and Laxus responded as they raced back to the nursery to finish the painting and putting the bookshelf together. Lucy smiled as she watched them go. "I really need to thank Mira and Erza for teaching me how to do that." She said to herself as she slowly followed them up the stairs to the nursery.
*back to Natsu and Zeref*
NATSU'S POV
Zeref and I have been fighting for around half an hour now and he's only used his Death Wave spell to counter my dangerous area attacks. Other than that he's dodged them or blocked them and tried to hit me. This fight in my opinion quickly became a boring one. "Why don't you use your magic more?" I asked Zeref as I flipped away from him. "I don't have very many spells. Probably because I've never met anyone that could dodge them or use a magical item with anti-death magic in it." Was his reply as he shot another Death Wave out to clear the dust from the cavern. I shook my head and charged in with my Holy Flame Dragon's Raging Fist. He managed to move slightly out of the way so I only clipped his shoulder. I turned towards him and unleashed a Smoke Dragon's Roar in the hopes of taking his sight away again so I'd once more have the advantage.
Our fight continued much like it did before I activated smoking trinity dragon mode only I was dealing slightly more damage than when we started. I still had plenty of magic. Luckily through my training with Bahamut and the other dragons I found a third origin. Because of that I can fight for at least 3 months straight with breaks to eat and drink. Zeref on the other hand was casting weaker and weaker spells. "What's the matter tired already?" I taunted. He just looked at me, smiled, and sat down. He then patted the ground as a signal for me to sit. "Before I do that… Are you the other personality of Zeref?" I questioned him, and he just nodded at me so I did sit.
"Now I'm sure you know my other personality wants to destroy the world," he looked to me for confirmation so I nodded before he continued "Me, as in this personality just wants to die already. I've lived centuries and am just tired of it all. I'm begging you to kill me when we start fighting again. I know you've got the power to. I mean you are the son of the only wizard that has ever harmed me enough to warrant resting." I let his words sink in before promising I would do it. He smiled and said "Thank you Natsu… But you're going to need more than what you're throwing at me now. I know you've got more but either you haven't realized it or you've forgotten about it. So our fight may take a while."
I nodded my head to what he said and went deep into my thoughts. After trying to make a mental list of my abilities the only power I had that I haven't been using was my Soul flame dragon slayer magic, and even with that I doubted I could win against Zeref.
After a few minutes debating it in my head I decided to do what every dragon slayer is told never to do. I was going to eat my own flames. Why? Well we get a massive power boost, but if we lose control over it the power takes control and we become like Acnologia. Dragon slayer turned corrupted dragon. But I had no chance of beating Zeref without that power. "Alrighty then. I'm going for it." I said as I lit my hand on fire with my ultimate flame. My flames where the same as they were in my Smoking Trinity dragon mode but had a silvery glow around them representing my soul flame dragon slayer magic. I took a look at Zeref before opening my mouth and devouring my flames.
*Over at the Guild Hall*
NO ONE'S POV
"Hey Elfman have you seen Gajeel?" Wendy asked the tall white haired take over mage. "He's over there in the corner why? Do you want to know how to be a MAN? If so it's not MANLY to ask anyone but me. Cause I'm the MAN!" He told her. Wendy just backed away slowly before sitting down across the table from Gajeel. "Gajeel did you feel that massive spike in Natsu's magic? Did he do what I think he just did?" she asked the Iron dragon slayer. He finished munching on the iron he had in front of him before replying. "Yes I sensed the magic spike…. But I don't know if that's what he did. Remember the old man told us what was going on so that we could keep everyone else here and not trying to help him. He did say Natsu has access to fairy magic, which if he could combine with his dragon flames would raise his power immensely." Wendy just nodded sagely and prayed that Natsu was going to be alright. Suddenly Wendy frowned "Gajeel what if he did eat his flames, but kept control? Grandeeney never told me what happens if a slayer could keep control over their power when they do that."
Gajeel thought about wither or not to tell the young slayer what would happen if that happened. Finally after a few minutes he replied "Well… for starters he would be able to activate Dragon Force at will. His strength, speed, and endurance would triple as well… It's possible he could unlock the ultimate dragon slayer spell, which would give him the ability to transform into a dragon kinda like Acnologia, but he would be able to take human form again and he wouldn't be corrupt." Wendy's jaw fell through the floor at what would happen to Natsu if he ate his flames. But then a thought hit Wendy so hard she staggered. "Gajeel what if he did that and then merged his fairy magic with his dragon slayer magic…. He'd be practically unstoppable" she voiced her concerns to her fellow dragon slayer. Gajeel stood up and left but not before telling her not to let anyone else out until she got an A-Okay from him or Makarov. 'I have to go be on standby to rescue that dumbass before he does something stupid' he thought to himself not even realizing that Wendy put everyone to sleep and followed him. (A/N: Yes this is a hint at what is to come for Natsu)
*Again we go back to Natsu and Zeref*
NATSU'S POV
My body was straining itself to keep up with the magic flowing freely throughout it now that I had eaten my flames. I was on the verge of passing out when I thought to myself 'No! I cannot give in. I have to stay in control!' As I thought that my body hit its pain threshold, making me scream in agony, which ironically is how I stayed in control. I used that scream to stay conscious until I stabilized. After a few minutes I regained my ability to feel, and had a comfortable level of magic flowing through me. "So your plan worked. You gained control and unconsciously made your body regulate the magic. Impressive Natsu, very impressive." Zeref called as I did a mental comparison between before I ate my flames and after. If my calculations were correct my magic container grew even more and my magic level is the same but the power is drastically higher. After realizing that I gave my trademark grin and replied "Now can we get back to having fun?" Zeref stood up, cracked his neck and disappeared from my sight. Luckily I could still smell him.
I ducked down under his fist and drove my right shoulder into his stomach, grabbed his arm as leverage and head-butted him. Zeref then faked me out with a right hook, just to uppercut me. "Death Wave" he hollered before a wave of death magic came at me. I countered with a Fire Dragon's Enhanced Roar, using it as feint. I stopped the roar at the last second and let the smoke produced from the abrupt stop block his sight long enough for me to charge up my magic for my most powerful attack. "Soul Flame Dragon Slayer's Secret art: Judgment of Souls" I cried out as I launched a spear of soul flame magic at Zeref pinning him to the wall behind him. I then created four daggers out of my soul flames and put one in each ankle as well as each palm. I then pulled the spear out and let the magic disperse. I knew I hadn't killed him like he asked, just beaten him into unconsciousness.
Knowing the fight would continue when he woke up I moved to the opposite wall of the cave and sat down leaning against it. "You say I have the power to kill you but, I just used my strongest spell and couldn't do enough damage to kill you. What can I do?" I asked myself out loud. I ended up getting so lost in my musings that I didn't realize Zeref was up again. Zeref just calmly walked up to me and slammed his left fist into my side, followed by a right hook into the stomach. He then brought his knee up into my face as he moved his hands to my shoulders so that he could head-butt me. After that my instincts kicked in and I slammed my leg into his side and shoved him away. I noticed Zeref charging his magic into his hands as a way to enhance his hits, as I watch him I thought 'looks like he's creating spells on the fly'. I laughed at him because my scarf would protect me from the death magic and he had nothing cushioning my flame covered fists.
The fight quickly picked up in intensity but neither one of us was able to get the upper hand, as I caught a punch from Zeref and flipped him over my shoulder, which was a very bad idea. As he went through the air he pulled my scarf away. Before I could even turn around Zeref had disappeared again. I tried to sniff him out but couldn't. "Dammit asshole I know your still here so give me back my scarf so I can beat you to a bloody pulp already!" I screamed in anger. Zeref suddenly appeared in front of me "Death magic secret art: Black arts: Hellish Breakdown" he said as my vision turned black and I passed out.
*Back to Makarov, Porlyusica, Mira, & Erza*
MAKAROV'S POV
"Well I'll be… I was wrong. I told you that you would only have one child but you had twins Erza." Porlyusica said as she handed Erza her babies. Her face was soft and kind looking for a second before she turned to me. "Makarov get her home soon. You know how I feel about humans and while, you Fairy Tail wizards aren't that bad, those two babies will be. I know I seem out of character here but seeing Erza and her babies reminded me that I'm not completely cold hearted." Was all I heard from the elderly pinkette before she walked outside for a minute. I looked over to Mira and saw she was looking in the direction I knew Natsu was. "Mira I know what you're thinking and no you are not going to help him. You are going to get Lucy and Levy to help you get Erza and those two little ones home. You are to stay with her, while I go to Natsu. No arguments. I know you want to help him but Gildarts and I are the only two who could get close enough to help Natsu. … Now call them and go." I ordered before walking out the door, thanking Porlyusica and rushing off to find Natsu.
I was about halfway between Porlyusica's and the cave where Natsu was fighting when I sensed Gajeel and Wendy heading the same way. I ended up changing plans to see why they left the guild when I told them not to. I found Gajeel first. "Gajeel why did you leave the guild?" I asked. "Wendy and I were talking and I realized something that made me have to check up on Natsu. You know why we don't eat our own magic right?" He replied. "I just know you are told not so. And why are you by yourself if I sensed Wendy out here too?" I responded. He cursed before telling me "I told Wendy to stay at the guild because if what I realized happened it would be too dangerous for anyone but another Dragon Slayer to get near him. When we eat our magic we get a massive power boost. But in the process of the body acclimating to it most would go insane and become a corrupted and evil dragon, which is what happened to Acnologia. That's the short version. If that happened Natsu's power on a scale of 1 to 10 would go from what it is now to so far off the scale that he could start the apocalypse with his weakest attack."
After hearing that I nodded at him. Then Wendy walked into the clearing we were in. She explained "I'm sorry Gajeel but I'm worried about Natsu to. And besides if that happened you would need at least 3 other Dragon Slayers backing you up to knock him out and the odds of that happened with a group of 10 Dragon Slayers are around 1 in 1,000,000,000 and that's just because of the fact he uses more than 1 kind of flame. And remember what we were told. If he did that and merged his Fairy magic with his flames we wouldn't even be able to take him down with 100 Dragon Slayers." Gajeel just shook his head saying "I know that but you're still young so if we have to fight I'd rather you stay out of it so you have no risk of dying. Besides Natsu's like an older brother to you. Do you think you could fight him full force even if he became a dragon?" He had her there but I jumped in "It doesn't matter if she could or not because of Natsu's Fairy Magic. It would take a while but he'd return to normal because his magic would slowly start negating the effects. Now let's go see what's happening." I waited for them to nod at me before we set off again.
*Back with Natsu (last time I promise)*
NATSU'S POV
I woke up to pure black surroundings. I spun around trying to figure out what was happening but I couldn't see, hear, or smell anything. Suddenly I heard Zeref's voice "You're lucky to have survived this long. This spell is supposed to break the mind and will of my opponent so utterly that they lose the will to live and die. Have fun!" Then everything suddenly got bright and looking around I saw what seemed like the apocalypse. Dead bodies were everywhere. Examining them closer showed them to be my friends. I ran through them all praying like hell Erza's body wasn't in this nightmare. I was starting to relax when I noticed her body wasn't here. But then I looked up and saw Zeref with his hand pulling Erza's heart out of her body. Watching the one person who meant more than anything to me die made me stop in my tracks. "No…. No! It's impossible! Erza can't die!" I screamed as my body started to shut down. "Calm down Natsu my son. It's not real." I heard someone say to me. Looking around I saw no one, at least not until I looked up. There was an image of my mother Mavis just floating in the air. My eyes finally quit tearing up and let the tears fall freely. "Mom…." She just nodded at me before our surroundings became a beach on Tenrou Island. "What? How?" I asked completely surprised.
"Well Natsu I knew one day you'd have to fight Zeref so planted a fragment of my soul inside of you in case you hadn't discovered that you inherited my Fairy magic, which by the way negates Death magic just like your scarf. That's why this spell hasn't killed you. It can't." Mom explained to me. I thought about it for a second before realizing it was true and that I was a major idiot. "I'm an idiot mom. I completely forgot I inherited you're magic. I was going to risk becoming a rampaging dragon just to kill Zeref because of my stupidity. But now… Hehehe. Zeref will be a cake walk considering I already succeeded in getting a power up, and now know I can merge the one magic that could negate his death magic with my magic no problem." I spoke out loud seeing the image of my mother nod her head at me. She then floated to my side and hugged me.
"Natsu… thank you for being the most amazing son I could ask for. You have grown up to be an exceptional young man and have a bright future ahead of you." She commented to me as she became a wispy after image that faded out. Looking around I realized that I needed to get out of this illusion. I extended my arm and felt the fabric of space in my hand. I gave a roar louder than should be possible as I ripped a hole in space. I walked through the hole and heard a small pop as the illusion world Zeref created imploded. Zeref's face went from boring to being interested. He commented that now the fight could truly get serious. I smirked as I thought of all my happiest thoughts when I felt my Fairy magic flow through me. Calling on my magic I saw my Dragon Slayer magic circle merge with my Fairy magic circle and just knew my magic had merged.
I let my magic build up at an astronomical rate intending for this next attack to be the last. Zeref saw what I was doing and knew he had to prepare a defense before I attack or it would be the end of him so he just went into a defensive stance and made layer upon layer of shields out of his magic. I grinned knowing it wouldn't save him from this attack. "Fairy Dragon Slayer's Ultimate Art: Fairy Dragon's Law" I cried before unleashing the magical maelstrom of a roar. I watched as Zeref panicked when he realized nothing he could do would be strong enough to weaken my roar, let alone stop it. The cave was then filled with a bright white light. When the light died down I saw no traces of Zeref other than my scarf which he dropped in fear of my attack. I laughed until I cried knowing that I had won. "Hell yes! I did it!" I cheered before falling down and passing out.
S.R: Whew... finally done. this is officially the longest thing I've ever written. Yeah I may have jumped around a bit too much but it's better than just straight fighting. I had to put the breaks in otherwise I wouldn't have been able to write the fight like I did. yeah it sucked on having magic spells but let's face it. We all know Natsu's spells and all I do with his new magic is put a spin on it, so the only attacks in here are ones I created mixing the other magic's he knows. As for Zeref, he doesn't have that many spells as far as we know so I had to work with that. Well this is what I spent a while working on. No this story isn't complete yet, I still have to do the epilogue before i'm done. Oh and my poll will be closing this Friday so hurry up and vote on it.
