Hey, so it's been 2 months and ten days since I put up Murderous Edward. I've been getting these shorts ideas and can't really help myself (I will soon have everything organized, I just thought you'd need an update after waiting for so long). I introduce you to...

My Number's Up- Psychotic/lovestruck Edward Part 1

Just my luck. The one person who was interested in mousy-whore Bella Swan was... Edward Cullen.

My life was just one big routine. I woke up, went to school, came home, did my homework, slept and repeat. And in school I was always nicknamed Mousy-Bella because I didn't talk much. When the girls decided they didn't like me, it became Whore-Bella. It was like that in Junior High, and in High School. I wouldn't have minded it, but everyday, everywhere I went, I would hear whispers, multiple at once, about 'that whore Bella' and the newest rumors about my 'streak'. It made me feel schizophrenic. I heard it everywhere.

When Mom told me about Phil's break in his baseball career that would take them to Florida, I jumped at the chance to leave Phoenix and start over somewhere completely different. Forks, Washington was the opposite of Phoenix and I was hoping the people were too, and that my luck would flip to good luck.

My Dad and I were estranged from each other, but I pushed myself to be more than polite. He never moved out of the house he and Renee used to share during their honeymoon phase in the first few months of my life. I found it strange, and wondered if he missed her even though it's been over sixteen years and she remarried. I pushed it out of my mind and moved my stuff inside.

I started school the next day which was fine since, what on earth would I be doing if I had time before then?

I hated the cold and rain but I welcomed it now, reveled in it. Everything else felt far, far away. I lifted my face to let the rain drops beat against my face. After a minute I realized it probably made me stand out and wiped my face. As I turned to head to the side doors, I locked eyes with someone from across the parking lot. A boy. A good looking boy. I did my best to feign I hadn't seen him and stole a glance behind me. There was no one there and no one had come from there. My truck was parked against the trees, so he must have been looking at me. I looked back, but the boy was...gone. Maybe I was seeing things.

I picked up my schedule and signature slip at the office before finding my locker. I made sure I was out of people's way while I followed the secretary's directions to it. But still managed to crash into someone.

"Oh-oof!" Books clattered on the floor and a boy chuckled. I looked up and saw the same boy from the parking lot. He was smiling now, exposing a perfect, white set of teeth, small fangs poking up. Before, he had an intense gaze and I practically felt his eyes burrowing into me. Both looks were intense in their own way.

"Dah-I-I..." I stuttered as my heart rate slowly returned to normal.

"I'm sorry," He said and crouched down. I bent down quickly, beating him to it, and gathered his books.

"No, I'm sorry. Sorry." I said, and huffed a short laugh. I placed the books into his hands carefully and yet his fingertips grazed my knuckles.

"You have a nice laugh." He said coming up, that smile still on his face. My smile disappeared. I couldn't believe he said that, but he looked and sounded genuine.

"Uh, thank you." I brought my smile back, trying to act normal.

"I'm Edward." He said with a hand out stretched.

"I'm-"

"Isabella. The entire school has been expecting you."

"Ah. But-" The bell rang. He took a step towards me, closing our distance.

"I'll see you soon," He said at my ear, his nose in my hair. "Mmm. Strawberries." He commented. I turned to see him walking down the hall to his class before rushing to mine, fanning myself to cool off my suddenly hot skin.

I rushed to my first class, breathless, and managed to compose myself within a few minutes in. Throughout the morning, some of the kids here started talking to me. I made an effort to remember their names and did my best to play the part of a happy-go-lucky girl. No one knew me as Mousy-Bella here after all. They seemed to believe it, and even invited me to their table in the cafeteria when they found out we had lunch at the same time. I smiled at everything they said and followed them to the caf'.

The selection of food was actually better, with hot holding cells for the pizza pies, fries, a salad bar, then the usual fare. The cafeteria was also pretty big. Most of the grade was in here and still you had a clear view of everyone. I froze when I noticed the same boy from this morning looking at me from a round table that sat by the large windows. I quickly turned back to my tray and continued down the line. He sat alone, in that table for six. All of the seats in the cafeteria were filled in but still. Wouldn't there be some people sitting with him?

"Edward Cullen is looking at you." Jessica Stanley said. She looked between me and him like she didn't understand what was happening.

"Don't look."

"S'weird. He's never shown interest in anyone before. Looks like good looking weirdos do exist." She said with a grin.

"Yeah," I huffed through a smirk.

When we got at the end of the line, I took a quick look back at him to see him looking out the window, his chin resting in his hand. He wasn't just handsome. I would describe him as...pretty. Perfect white skin that seemed to glow, a strong nose, jaw, and strong eyebrows. I snapped back to attention and followed Jessica to the table.

The conversation was like that of the movies. Perfect. One of the boys was an athlete, and teased the nerd and next-door boy. The girls sometimes chimed in and teased the boys as well before going back to their conversation about prom that was still six months away. I did my best to keep up and play along while stealing glances at Edward. I shouldn't be looking, I don't why I was looking. Was it because he reminded me of myself?

The forty minutes passed quickly, and everyone cleaned up after themselves. And Edward was already gone without a trace. Jessica and the next-door boy, Mike, walked with me to biology class that we shared. Everyone looked up to look at the new girl, but Edward's gaze was the one I noticed most. He was here. I hurried to the teacher, who signed my slip and gave me a text book.

"Sit next to Edward, he'll be your partner for the rest of the year." He said. Edward grinned widely, his chin resting on his hand again. What on earth is he thinking? He acted like I was a friend he's been friends with for years. I smiled politely and settled in.

"Looks like it's my lucky day. I didn't think you'd be in my class." He said.

"Yeah, what a coincidence." I responded. The teacher initiated class and I took out my binder. Edward stared at me. I did my best not to look.

The teacher gave us the tools for today's class on cell division and instructed us to put the slides in order. I watched Edward look into the scope and wondered why, if he was this open and friendly, he was considered a weirdo. Why was he alone. He slid the microscope to me and I looked in. I moved when I felt something brushing against the back of my hand. Edward was stroking it with his knuckle and thumb.

"Your hands are soft." He said tenderly. He looked up with an expression a boyfriend would have, as if we were alone and intimate with each other and not in a classroom. I started blushing but I was also weirded out.

"It's...prophase." I moved the microscope away, as if to put a barrier between us, and slid the worksheet over to me to fill it in.

"How are you liking Forks?" He asked.

"Um...it's fine."

"What about the boys?" I immediately noticed he didn't say 'people' to generalize.

"...fine?"

"Like the athletic type?" I started chewing on my lip.

"Not my type."

"The forest is nice. Beautiful." He suddenly said. That was one thing I could agree with and I was grateful for the sudden change in conversation.

"Yeah, and it smells nice. Like it's brand new because of the rain." I said. He turned back to me.

"Right. Everything is brand new today."

Hello everyone, I had to end here because I wanted to give you guys something because I know it's been a while and I didn't want to update without anything to show for it. And I think this short will be longer than the last (not 2K words). I've been clearing up the projects I want to do on here, and I just started my first retail job which is great news because I've been looking since the beginning of the year with no luck up until now, so that took priority this entire time and I wasn't in the mood to write because of the struggle. I felt like I couldn't take a break from job searching.

Thank you so much for reading, being patient, and thank you to all who have followed and favorited, there are so many that it would be a long list down here were I to name all of you and I have seen all of your names. I always check my email for you guys. So I'm sorry, but know I think of you and that I'm grateful you're taking the time to read my work and that you're enjoying it. I'll see you soon.

PS: Recently I've been really into this horror and thriller stuff and getting ideas for novels. These shorts are my first attempts at it. So if you have any thoughts or opinions on how I can make this better, do let me know. I'd like to know if it's enjoyable and immersive too.
