A/N: Yes. I agree with you guest, but I decided to just make it a little surprise. Because this way it looks like Rin was just worried for nothing.

I hope you guys enjoy this chapter!

Chapter 21:

2 weeks had passed.

Lots of sleeping was spent in those two weeks, that and...

Rin was awakened one day by one of the dog guards approaching her.

She noticed he had some... creature, limp, in his mouth.

The dog guard lowered the prey to the ground before taking a step back.

Rin stared at the limp giant mound.

"I don't think she's ready to try that yet." Toshiro said from the entrance of the cave.

The dog guard growled suddenly at the intruder.

"And who are you to judge what our queen eats?" The dog guard questioned.

Toshiro showed no signs of fear towards the growling dog guard.

"Hey." Rin called, "He doesn't mean any harm."

"That may be, but he does not get to say in what you can and cannot eat." The dog guard said.

"Calm down Asuka." Sesshomaru returned in the cave, standing next to Toshiro defensively.

Sesshomaru focused on Rin, noticing her confusion upon the prey before her.

Sesshomaru approached her, taking a sniff at the prey.

"You do not wish to eat this yet?" Sesshomaru asked.

Rin's stare answered that.

"Toshiro. Go get Rin some human food. Asuka, you are free to take this prey." Sesshomaru said.

The guard known as Asuka nodded and took the prey out of the cave.

Rin was lost in her thoughts, How am I ever going to accept food like that?

"It's ok, Rin." Sesshomaru broke her thoughts, laying next to her.

"I must be an embarassment to this clan." Rin said.

"No Rin.. You are not an embarassment. You are the queen of these lands and no one sees you lower than those standards." Sesshomaru said.

"No one except Naomi." Rin muttered.

"I don't think she will bother you anymore. She won't even look at me anymore. Which I thank you for. It is as I say, you make the perfect Alpha female." Sesshomaru said.

Rin looked down at her pups, they had slowly learned to open their eyes, but due to the darkness of the cave, that only helped them more to sleep.

Another week should give them time to learn to move about.

Toshiro returned with a normal human meal, setting it before Rin. She noticed him watching her pups.

"You will be a perfefct mother, my queen." Toshiro said.

"Thank you. And thank you for the food." Rin said.

"It is no problem, my queen." Toshiro lowered his head in a bow, before leaving the cave.

Rin felt extremely weird eating the human food in her dog form, but she refused to leave her pups for very long, like she had when she attacked Naomi.

Sesshomaru had done the same, surprising to Rin.

When Rin had finished eating, she suddenly remembered something.

Kagome and InuYasha.

They had stayed too, but InuYasha would not risk Kagome getting too close to the dog guards.

"Asuka." Rin called.

The dog glanced at her.

"Can you let Kagome and InuYasha in please?" Rin asked.

Asuka was hesitant, but left his post, disappearing from the cave and returning a few minutes later with InuYasha and Kagome.

InuYasha kept Kagome behind him the whole time, and Rin didn't blame him because now she was the only human left in this place.

Although, Kagome quickly run ahead of him, and into the cave.

"Rin!" Kagome said hapilly.

"Hi, Kagome." Rin couldn't technically smile, so she let out an excited whimper.

Kagome slowed the closer she got, remembering her place.

She curiously looked at the pups that slept next to Rin.

"They're beautiful." Kagome said.

"Thank you." Rin said.

"Three little balls of fluff. I'm sure they'll turn into a real killer." InuYasha said as he observed as well.

Sesshomaru made a noise that sounded like a chuckle.

"I'm glad to see you're still here." Rin said.

As quick as she had said it, Rin realized that Kagome couldn't understand her in her dog form.

"She's glad you're here." InuYasha saved her from another flash of guilt.

"I'm glad to be here too." Kagome smiled.

It was silent for a long time.

"Don't be shy. Sit." Rin offered.

Of course, Kagome only received a whine and a flip of her tail, so she looked at InuYasha for interpretation.

"She says, don't be shy, sit... Just not me please." InuYasha said the last quickly.

Kagome rolled her eyes but sat down before the large dog demon, that large dog demon being her sister.

InuYasha remained standing for a few minutes.

Kagome could not take her eyes off of the sleeping pups. She just loved kids!

"You can pet them if you want." Rin offered her sister.

"I don't think so." InuYasha replied.

"What? What did she say?" Kagome asked.

"It's fine InuYasha. I won't hurt her. And I know she will return that favor." Rin said.

"What is she saying InuYasha?" Kagome asked.

"She says you can pet them if you want." InuYasha said hesitantly.

Kagome looked back at Rin, "Oh no. That just isn't right. They're babies, not some pet dog."

Rin brought her large paw forward, gently laying on top of Kagome's hand, which made her gasp but quickly reminded herself that her sister wouldn't hurt her.

Rin gently guided her hand forward until they were right before the sleeping pups.

Kagome stared at Rin in shock, "You're sure?"

Rin nodded.

Kagome was still hesitant, she knew that any type of mother with kids didn't want other people messing with them.

Kagome's admiration of the pups got the better of her, she lefted her hand and gently laid it on one of the pups.

She gasped aloud, they looked fluffy, but felt like the most silkiest fur she had every felt.

The pup twitched from it's sleep, grunting at the hand that gently ran down its fur.

Kagome just wanted to cry... Cry at the beauty of these 2 week old pups. She just loved kids.

Kagome pulled away, looking back at Rin, "They're perfect Rin. Sesshomaru, I'm sure they'll be just like you."

Sesshomaru was laying behind Rin, and lifted his head, and laying it on Rin's side.

"He says he apreciated that..." InuYasha said slowly, in a disbelief and confused state.

Kagome looked back, noicing the sun setting, the darkness of the cave seeping in. She looked back at Rin, "Well. I guess I should go."

"You're not 'leaving'... Right?" Rin asked, and of course all Kagome recieved was Rin tilting her head.

Kagome looked back at InuYasha.

"She asked if we were really leaving." InuYasha said.

Kagome looked back at Rin, confused at first, but when she saw the look in her eyes, Kagome sighed, "No. We won't leave just yet."

She laid a hand on Rin's paw assuringly.

Rin glanced at her hand then back at Kagome and nodded.

Kagome lightly ran a hand through the fur on Rin's paw before withdrawing and stood with InuYasha and they left the cave.

Rin sighed when they were out of sight. "I'm so selfish."

Sesshomaru jumped up, going around to lay down where he could face his mate. "No you're not."

"I shouldn't try to force Kagome to stay. She's found her mate and I should not step into that." Rin said.

"She is your friend. You have a close connection to her. It's not selfish to love those you hold dear to you." Sesshomaru said.

Rin looked down, "At least in another week we can take our pups outside.

"Yes." Sesshomaru nodded.

"Is it bad that I miss my human form?" Rin asked.

"No." Sesshomaru said before nuzzling her neck, "I miss it too."
