I do not own Criminal Minds...Sadly

Curly-Melinda and Rascal-Kasey are from my imagination and so unfortunately is Topper-Henderson, Peterson and the evil Lucy.

When Penelope woke from a light doze she didn't know how long she had been back in the basement with Kasey. What she did know was that her back felt like it was on fire. God she had tried so hard not to say anything or show any pain, she knew that Derek would be watching the DVD and she knew it would break him, he loved her so much and she knew the thought of someone hurting her would kill him. It was the same for her, the thought of someone hurting him was enough to give her physical pain.

She never believed that she would find someone to love her as much as Derek did, for that matter she never thought that she would love someone as much as she loved Derek and she knew if it came down to it she would die for him. To think it started all those years ago when he called her Gomez. She had to admit, she so much preferred being called baby girl. A smile appeared on her face at the thought of his lips mouthing those words, but the smile quickly disappeared. Penelope didn't know if she was going to get out of here alive, she had had time to think about it, the best way for Topper to get back at Derek was to take away the one thing that Derek loved the most and that would be her.

Penelope realized that someone was coming down the stairs so she sat there waiting to see who it was. She was relieved that it was the man that would bring their meals. He had a tray of food with him. He placed the tray on the floor next to her. "Eat" was all he said before he walked away.

Penelope wasn't really hungry, besides there really wasn't much on the tray and she wanted Kasey to keep up her strength. All Penelope wanted to do was make the pain go away. She tried to hide it but Kasey could tell.

"He's coming soon you know. He'll come and get us. I know he will." Kasey said. "Mr Derek is smart and strong and he's going to find us Whizz, just you wait."

Penelope looked at Kasey and smiled. "Come here you" Penelope said as she opened her arms wide to hug Kasey. "I believe you peanut" Penelope said and she kissed the top of Kasey's head. In her mind she thought they'd better hurry.

Meanwhile upstairs, Sarah and Topper were in a heated discussion. There was a difference of opinion as to how "she" would be handled. Sarah felt that keeping Penelope alive was going to hold them back. "We need to get rid of her and that child" she screamed at Topper. There was a half opened bottle of whiskey on the table and Topper's hand wrapped around a glass that almost empty. He banged the glass down and lifted his body halfway up the chair, staring into Sarah's eye's he gritted his teeth, the anger apparent in his bloodshot eyes; "WE WILL DO AS I SAY, WHEN I SAY" he yelled. Sarah took a step back, and tried to reason with him. "What's the point of getting what will hurt him most if you're not going to do anything to them?" she asked.

"Because it's HIM I want. I want to see Agent Morgan suffer as I kill them both before his eyes. I want him to live their pain. I want him to regret ever having crossed my path. I want him to die a slow, agonizing death, just like the ones he'll witness when they die." With that he chugged the whiskey in his glass and poured some more.

The SUV's were pulling out of the parking lot. SWAT was right behind them. All one could see was a blur of lights as they headed out with their sirens full blast towards Blossom Road.

"Hotch, that area is dark and quiet. We're going to stick out like sore thumbs if we barrel in there with our lights and sirens. It'll give him way too much warning and time. We need to do this as low key as possible" Derek said.

"We need to get there fast, right before we enter the area we'll turn everything off" Hotch said.

Rossi was studying a map of the area trying to get strategic placement for all of them. "Hotch, we're better off going in through the south side. The trees line up close to the property line and they're thick enough to mask us." He said.

The trucks drove up Cherry Road. It ran parallel to Blossom and just like Rossi had said, the trees were thick and blocked any visual of the abandoned home. The Mill was could be seen at a distance but was dark and empty at night. The trucks stopped and everyone got out. The SWAT team quickly disbursed and got into position.

"We need to get as close to the house as possible" Hotch said.

"Rossi, you and Emily go that way" as he pointed to the right. "Reid, you and JJ that way" pointing to the left. "Derek, you and I are going for the front; the SWAT members will back us up from their positions." Derek nodded and immediately pulled out his gun.

Hotch grabbed his radio and coordinated with the SWAT team leader. When all details were exchanged, Hotch looked at his team and said "We're ready, let's go."

The team members walked through the thickness of the trees looking for a good position to enter that was close to the house. The less they exposed themselves the better. First to find an opening was Reid and JJ. They were able to make it close enough to the house to see that on their side, there were no windows. The house was made of stone and there were ivory leaves covering them. It looked old and had obviously not been very well taken care of for years. They continued to walk around the side towards the front looking for anything that might give them a peek inside. As they reached the northern corner of the house, they saw Hotch and Morgan positioned and waiting for the teams communications. JJ radioed Hotch with their position and waited for his go ahead.

Rossi and Emily approached the house and could see a large window on their side. The trick was getting close enough to it without being detected. They found themselves backtracking a bit and coming in through another opening in order to avoid being seen.

Derek was getting impatient. "What's taking them so long" he said. "They're being careful" Hotch replied. He understood Derek. He knew that given the circumstances, he'd react the same way.

When Rossi and Emily finally made it to the house, they proceeded to walk towards the window but that was fruitless, they couldn't see anyone there. They walked slowly towards the northern corner trying not the rustle any of the leaves that seemed to be piled around the house. Emily noticed the leaves seemed a little too "neat". She stared at them for a minute and looked back. "Those trees are way too far for the leaves to be piling up here" she said. Rossi looked over his shoulder as if confirming the distance and nodded. Slowly, Emily began to move some of the leaves and as her hand moved back and forth, it got hit something hard. She moved the leaves from that area to reveal what looked like a wooden manhole. The lid had an iron hook on top and through it was iron stake. She managed to remove the stake and with Rossi's help they lifted the lid. They sat in silence for a bit checking to see if anything could be heard, but there was no noise and they saw no light.

"Hotch, I think I found something" she said. "It looks like it might lead to the basement of the house. I don't hear anything and I can't see any light but Rossi and I are going in."

"I'll give you two minutes to get inside then we'll storm in through the front" he said. Hotch advised SWAT of the plan and made sure they understood the only way out of this house was through a side window, a manhole and the front door.

Hotch looked at his watch and then at Derek. "Let's get this Son of a Bitch" he said and with that both men got up from their positions and went towards the front door. "LET'S GO LET'S GO" Hotch yelled.

Derek ran up to the front door and kicked it open in shot. His gun drawn he carefully walked in followed by his team and members of SWAT. "FBI" he yelled as the team each took a different direction in the house looking for their suspect.

"Clear" yelled JJ as she came out of one of the rooms. "Clear" from across the other side as Hotch too came out. Derek walked down a hall towards a door at the end. Slowly he placed his hand on the knob and just as he did, he heard Penelope scream.
