*ESCAPE*
The ballroom was as bright and festive as it was when they danced for the first time. It was full of color and full of life. Upon entering through the grand doors the very first thing the guest will spot will be the adorning chandeliers hanging high above the ceiling so high one couldn't believe that this was still a room from the Rainsworth estate.
Sharon looked down upon her hands. Blood stained her once clean white dress. Eyes already swollen despite not feeing any physical pain. She could hear nothing but silence as her once fragile hands folded to a fist.
She looked up to see if there has been a change of the once empty ballroom.
CHAOS
That was the only word she could think of.
Darkness crept on the faces of the two nobles as they stood as close to the wall as their surprise, rather than finding the builing surrounded by Pandora agents, the household seemed abandoned.
"Could this be a trap?" Oz Vessalius asked his friend as they continued through the dark hall. The girl turned to look at him, beautiful pink eyes glowed through the shadows;
"To be honest Oz I don't now"
Her eyes lowered as she began to turn her attention back in front of her, It has been a little over twenty minutes since they unlocked the bedroom door where she awakened. With not a single gaurd to be found Saron has been doubting that they were truly alone.
How could she be at ease after everthing that they have been through? Having been shot, captured, and almost raped was truly terrifying. That same fear still lingers in her chest as she crept further down the long hallway.
"I get the feeling that Sheryl really thought you were going to finish what she ordered of you" Sharon whispered. "She really underestimated you." She smiled.
After what seemed hours the nobles reached the end o the hall. They were standing ontop of the stairway that led directly down to the main entrance.
'Could this really be this easy' Sharon asked herself as they slowly began to walk down. Nothing seemed to be placed or triggered to stop the nobles in the case they tried to escape. Their anxiety worsened as they began to head down the eerie stairs. With each step they took the floors creeked as if it were about to snap if they were any heavier.
As soon as they reached the floor they were faced with an iron clad door. Afar it seemed like another typical wooden door so the duo didn't really expect an obstacle such as this.
"I guess this is why they didn't place any gaurds. This door is massive. How will we open this?" Oz grunted as he tried to push and pull the cold iron door but to no avail did it budge. "Windows are no good either. They're cladded with iron bars"
"There must be a way. I doubt that this is the only entrance." Sharon sighed as she began walking towards another hall. Oz quickly followed behind her.
Afer a few seconds they reached a small library with an outside patio. The glass door wasn't barricaded and didn't seem that it had any locks of any kind. This could be their only chance. Both Sharon and Oz darted towards the door.
Oz reached towards the bronze handle, his hand was only inches from actually touching it until he felt Sharon's gloved hand pulling his arm.
"Wait." she hushed, letting go of her compainion's arm she turned to face the small library room once again, "We can't just step outside not armed. We have to take something... anything that we can use to protect oursleves in case we need to." The young heiress scanned the room. To her surprise, at the edge of one of the shelves she found what she was looking for.
A small silver blade shimmered thanks to the light of the full moon, barely catching the eye of the young maiden. Sharon placed her cold hand on the handle of the dagger that was tucked in between old books.
"Isn't that... a little to convenient to be placed here? What if it's a trap?" Oz questioned. Sharon inspected the small dagger.
True it was too convenient for it to be here placed like this. But what other choice does they have? "I understand how you feel, however, We don't have much of a choice but to use this as some type of defense"
Oz stood in silence agreeing despite his suspicion rising. "Ready?" he asked his compainion as he placed his hand on the bronze handle.
Sharon took a deep breath.
"Ready."
