When Clary was finally released from the hospital, almost a week had passed since her daughter had been missing. Against Maia and Hodge's orders Clary spent most of her time trying to track her daughter down. She was rarely even at home. Choosing instead to spend most of her time searching the streets or going through old files at the agency.

Jace Pov

It had been almost a week since I had seen Clary. Ever since she had been released from the hospital I had been blocked from seeing her, mostly by Maia. Something had happened that Hodge and Maia weren't telling us about.

I felt a tap on my shoulder, it was Iz dragging me out of my thoughts.

"Are you ok, you've been staring at the wall for the past ten minutes. Is this about Clary?" She sat down next to me. I looked at her. She looked like she'd aged ten years over the past week. Part of me felt bad, maybe I was being selfish. After all I hadn't been the only one who had loved Clary.

"Yea, Iz I just can't help but think that we weren't told the whole story. I mean why haven't we been allowed to see Clary?" I asked. Iz looked down and seemed to be thinking.

"Well, she lost her dog. And from what they did tell us, that dog meant everything to Clary. Maybe she just needs time to heal, and for all we know we could be stressing her out. She could be trying to figure out if she wants us in her new life that she's created for herself." I nodded my head she did have a point.

"But what is she's hiding something from us? I mean I just can't shake the feeling that we haven't been told the entire story. " I looked back towards the window. A mother was walking with her kids.

"Okay but Jace you have to remember we haven't been apart of her life in years. We don't really have any right to know everything about her current life." She stopped and brought her hand to rest on mine. "I know it's hard Jace. We all loved her and think we have at least seen her. Jocelyn and Luke haven't even been able to see her, but they know she's alive. Imagine how they feel." I knew what she was saying was true.

"Maybe we should go and visit them, to see how they are doing?" I suggested. Iz opened her mouth to reply when my mother walked in.

"Ya know what I think that is and amazing idea. I'm sure that Jocelyn and Luke would love to see you guys." Isabelle nodded her head.

"Yea I think we should do that." Iz and I made the walk to the mayor's house reminiscing on old memories. Jocelyn answered the door, a dish towel in her hand and a smile on her face.

"Jace, Isabelle it's such a pleasure to see you. Have you heard anything about Clary? Can we see her yet." Iz shook her head as we walked inside. We passed Stephanie coloring in the kitchen and Luke working in his office. Jocelyn led us to the sitting room in the back of the house. Clary and I used to sit back here for hours at a time, just watching the sun go down or up.

"...owever we haven't even been able to see her. Something happened at work with her and it hit her really hard." I zoned back in to see Isabelle looking at Jocelyn and talking to her.

"Jace, how have you been doing? I know this must have been hard on you." I nodded. No matter how sad or upset or unhappy Jocelyn Garroway got she was always willing to put everyone else above herself.

"I'm doing okay Jocelyn, I mean it's till hard though. You know I don't think I really stopped loving her." Jocelyn smiled. Jocelyn had always loved Clary and I's relationship. I think besides my mom, Jocelyn was Clary and I's biggest supporter.

"I think that's only natural Jace I mean she was your first love and you had planned on marrying her." Isabelle piped in.

"Ya I know Iz. I guess we should leave you be Jocelyn. Maybe next time we come we can bring Clary back with us." Jocelyn looked hopeful as she let us back out to the front of the house.

Clary POV

Maia rested her head on top of mine. She reached over me and clicked off of the page I was on, on the computer.

"Clary you know this isn't healthy. This isn't going to get you anywhere. Staring at the computer all day long. You know we're doing everything we can to find her. But, it's not going to help when we bring her home and her mother is too tired to care for her." Maia turned my chair around her face her on the couch.

"I know Maia I know but I just can't stop what if she's all alone and she's scared. What if she's being hurt and i'm just not there to help her." I laid my head in my hands. "She's my baby Maia she's all I have." Maia moved to sit in front of me. She signed heavily. I moved my head to look at her. She looked worried.

"Clary, I think it's time you tell Jace about her. I think know that he's found you and knows about you he deserves to know. We can't just keep barring Alec, Isabelle and Jace from working here. And Hodge is getting annoyed with Jace calling him day in and day out asking questions." I had started crying. Tears feel down my face freely now.

"I know I need to but I just can't bring myself to. What if he rejects her? What if he breaks her heart? Or what if he doesn't think she is his?" Maia bit her lip.

"Right now I don't think any of that matters. I think all that matters now is that your daughter is missing, and her father doesn't even know she exists. And based on what I've seen of Jace I don't think he'll reject you or her. Honestly I think he still loves you." Oh how I hated how right Maia was. She was always right, about everything it seemed. But, for now I had to call Jace.

"Okay Maia you're right i'll call him now, he deserves to know." Maia stood up and passed me my phone. The phone rang once, twice and then he answered.

"Clary? Is this you?" I nodded my head before realizing he couldn't even see me.

"Yea Jace it's me," I felt a few tears slide down my face. "I have something that I need to tell you…"

The door to the all white room opened revealing a tall fair haired man. The small red headed girl didn't seem scared of him not the way she should've been. The girl moved further onto her bed as the man approached.

"Shhh it's ok i'm not going to hurt you. I would never dream of hurting you." By now the girl had started crying.

"I want my mommy." Her tears stained her cheeks. All she wanted to do was go home. To see her mommy.

"Shhhh it's ok darling, mommy will be joining you soon enough. And once she is here we can be a family again." The girls cries bounced off of the walls of her room. Nobody could hear them though. Nobody could rescue her now.
