The Ultimate Quest to Victory!
Author's Notes: I am back with another chapter and sorry for not long wait. I'll try my best to deliver as soon as possible, now enjoy everyone and leave your thoughts in the reviews.
Chapter Twenty One: The Fight for the Laverre Ribbon!
Laverre City (1:39 p.m.)
The last time we left our heroes, Ash has managed to catch himself a Phantump for his team and now that Ash and company have arrived to Laverre City, Dawn's fourth contest is underway.
"We're finally here at Laverre City and this place is so pretty and peaceful" said Dawn.
"Let's go to the Pokémon Center to rent two bedrooms" said Clemont.
Everyone agreed and they all head over to the Pokémon Center and rented rooms.
"I knew I found you here Ash and Dawn" said May from behind the group.
"It's May!" said Dawn.
"Piplup!" The Penguin Pokémon waved hello to May.
"You look great in that new outfit of yours" said Dawn.
"Thanks Dawn and check this out you guys, look what I have on my wrist" said May.
The couple looked they see that May haves her own Mega Bracelet with a Key Stone on it.
"It's a key stone" said Ash.
"It's beautiful" said Dawn.
"I also got theses Mega Stone from Steven Stone" said May.
"I remember Steven, we met him back at Dewford Island in Hoeen" said Ash.
"That's right and he gave me three different stones. I saw Brock a few days ago and I gave him a blue mega stone for him, I have this red and black mega stone for my Blaziken to mega evolve and this green right here is for you Ash since I may know what Pokémon might mega evolve with that stone" said May.
Ash takes the stone and he examines the stone and he might have an idea which one of his Pokémon can mega evolve.
Ash goes to a video phone booth inside the Pokémon Center, meanwhile May is introduce to Clemont, Bonnie and Serena.
"Hi my name is Clemont and it is a pleasure to meet you"
"My name is Bonnie and this is little one here is Dedenne"
"My name is Serena and it's great to meet you" Serena smiles as she introduce herself.
"Thank you Serena and it's great to meet you two" said May.
"So are you here to participate today's contest?" Dawn questions May.
"Not really, I actually came here to cheer you on Dawn, the next contest I'm going to compete is at Santalune City in a month" said May.
"That's so nice of you to do that and good luck at your next contest" said Dawn.
Meanwhile Ash just hangs up on Professor Oak from the video phone and meets with everyone else.
"Okay I got my Pokémon here, so let's go outside and see it mega evolve" said Ash.
Everyone joined Ash and Pikachu outside at the back of the Pokémon Center.
"Okay Sceptile, come on out!" yelled Ash as he threw Sceptile's ball.
"Sceptile!"
"Here I'm going to put this gauntlet around your wrist, the stone on it is calleda Mega Stone which allows you to Mega Evolve" said Ash as he is putting the Mega Stone equipment on his Sceptile.
Sceptile nodded and Ash says "Okay are you ready?"
Sceptile nodded its head again in agreement but May suggest that they should battle since Mega Evolution only works in a battle.
Both trainers are prepared and they both activate their own key stones, allowing their Pokémon to Mega Evolve.
"Sceptile, Mega EVOLVE!" Ash shouted.
"You too Blaziken, Mega Evolve!" said May.
Both Pokémon are going through the Mega Evolution phase and once they were done, a strong wind blew harshly that made Dedenne flew off of Bonnie's head but thanks to her quick reaction, she caught it and placed Dedenne inside her bag.
Dawn scans Mega Sceptile and informs Ash that it is both Grass and Dragon type with the ability Lighting Rod.
"I'll referee the match" Clemont volunteered.
"Great, now let's get the battle started" Ash is pump up and is ready to test Mega Sceptile's new skills.
"Let the battle commence!" Clemont officially starts the match.
Ash vs May (One on One Battle)
"Blaziken use Blaze Kick!" May shouted.
"Dodge it Sceptile and use Dragon Claw in close range!" Ash gave an order to Mega Sceptile.
Sceptile successfully dodge the attack and lands a direct hit on Mega Blaziken.
"Blaziken use Close Combat!" said May.
Mega Blaziken quickly recovers and lands multiple attacks onto Mega Sceptile and lands a critical hit for the last punch.
"Grab ahold of Blaziken and use Solarbeam up close and personal" said Ash.
Mega Sceptile begins to charge up its Solarbeam and grabs Blaziken.
"Quick Blaziken, try to Close Combat to free yourself" said May.
Sceptile already unleases the Solarbeam and knocks Blaziken right outside the battlefield and it quickly gets back up, then returns to the battlefield to continue the battle.
"I call this a draw, so this battle is a tie" said Clemont.
"Huh, why just end the match?" Ash questions Clemont and he response by saying "Well look at the time, its two-twenty and the Laverre Contest is going to begin in forty minutes"
"Oh that's right, well I better get going and get myself ready" said Dawn as she leaves for the contest with Piplup.
Serena follows her just in case if Dawn needs help.
Both Sceptile and Blaziken change back to their normal forms and they were recalled back into their Pokéballs.
"Sceptile you did great so take a good rest" said Ash.
"We should head over to the contest hall everyone" Clemont suggested.
Ash, Bonnie and May agreed and went along to the contest hall for Dawn's Pokémon Contest.
Contest Hall (2:54 p.m.)
"Ohh why won't hair stay down" Dawn complained.
"Here let me help you" Serena offers her help to Dawn.
"Thank you so much Serena" said Dawn.
"You're very welcome and we all just know you will do great in today's contest" said Serena.
"There's no need to worry, me and my Pokémon will win it for sure because I believe in them" Dawn said with confidence.
"The contest is now starting in four minutes and good luck out there Dawn" said Serena.
"Thanks and I will" said Dawn as she left the dresser room to the waiting where the other coordinators are all waiting and watching the other's performance.
Serena later join the others at the audience and the first contested begins by showing off with his Clamperl showcasing the beauty of its pearls around its head. Up next is a coordinator named Christina and she showcases an ancient ritual dance with her Roserade.
After Christina's performance, Dawn is up next "Sylveon, Spotlight!"
"Silvy!" Slyveon let out a cry.
"Hidden Power!" Dawn gave a command to Sylveon.
Sylveon's Hidden Power orbs began to light up the stage.
"Great, now us Moonblast at the orbs!" said Dawn.
Slyveon leaps up high into the air an releases an Moonblast attack at the Hidden Power Orbs to create a magnificent effect which made the audience feel amazed.
"What an amazing performance by Dawn and her Sylveon, now let's what our judges have to say about the performance" said Lilian Meridian.
"An outstanding performance I must say" said Mr. Contesta.
"Remarkable" said Mr. Suziko.
"Slyveon was just adorable out there today" said Nurse Joy.
"Thank you so much Sylveon, now let's hope we get to the next round" said Dawn.
Sylveon smiled at Dawn and let out a cry.
As the first round is over, Dawn got into the second round with seven other coordinators, she battle her way through the second and third, making it to the final round.
The final battle begins with Dawn battling against a coordinator named Tessa.
Lilian speaks into the mic and says "Now battle begin!"
Dawn vs Tessa (Double Battle)
"Piplup and Quilava, Spotlight!" said Dawn.
"Come on out Dewott and Poliwrath!" Tessa calls out her Water type Pokémon.
"Uh oh this isn't good, Tessa has two Water type Pokémon which puts Quilava in a huge disadvantage" Ash said with concern.
"Piplup use Drill Peck at Poliwrath and Quilava use Flame Wheel at Dewott!"
"Dewott dodge it and use Razor Shell at Quilava and Poliwrath use Double Slap on Piplup" Tessa order her two Pokémon.
Dawn quickly reacts and gives a new command to her Pokémon "Piplup dodge it by spinning around Poliwrath and continue to attack with Drill Peck and Quilava use Flame Wheel to counter Dewott's Razor Shell!"
Piplup lands a super effective hit on Poliwrath while Quilava took small amounts of damage from Dewott's Razor Shell while countering the attack.
"Great work you two, now Piplup use Headbutt on Dewott and Quilava it's time for you to use your new move, Wild Charge at Poliwrath!" Dawn said.
Quilava begins to pound the ground with its feet and charges at Poliwrath with Wild Charge and Piplup's Headbutt hits Dewott directly.
"Poliwrath block Quilava's attack!" Tessa quickly responded.
Dawn quickly says "Jump above Poliwrath and hit it!"
Quilava successfully avoided from being block by Poliwrath and it turns around and continues to charge at Poliwrath from behind and knocks it out from battle.
"Oh no return Poliwrath!" Tessa was disappointed but soon cheers up and says "Dewott use Dual Razor Shell at both Piplup and Quilava!"
Dewott gets his second scalchop and charges at both Dawn's Pokémon with Dual Razor Shell.
Dawn hurry and commanded her Pokémon "Piplup use Headbutt to slow down Dewott and Quilava finish this battle with Wild Charge!"
Piplup used Headbutt to slow down Dewott but it didn't get any luck at all and Dewott lands two blows with Razor Shells on Quilava and knocks it out of battle.
Dawn recalls her Quilava back to its Pokéball and says "You did great, not take a nice long rest" she smiled and continue to finish the battle with Piplup "Piplup use Drill Peck at Dewott!"
Piplup jumps and spin towards Dewott with its beak extending a little further as it is storing a lot of its energy to its beak.
"Aqua Jet!" Tessa gave an order to her Dewott.
Both Water type Pokémon are flying towards each other and collided one another which caused a small explosion.
As the smoke disappeared, both Piplup and Dewott are just standing the opposite directions, waiting for which one to collapse.
Piplup falls to its small knees and Dewott had a smirk on its face but later collapse and loses.
"Dewott is unable to battle and Dawn and her Piplup are the winners of today's Pokémon Contest. Give a round of applause to Dawn and Piplup!" said Lilian.
People began cheering for Dawn and her Piplup, including her friends and Ash.
"Thank you so much Piplup, I couldn't have done it without you!" Dawn hugged her Piplup with it sleeping.
Tessa had her Dewott recalled back to its Pokéball and congratulated Dawn on her victory and wishes her the best of luck in her future contests.
Mr. Contesta presented the Laverre Ribbon to Dawn for her excellent performance today and the audience gave her a round of applause.
Dawn soon changes back to her usual outfit and meets up with Ash and the others.
"You did fantastic today Dawn" Ash gave a hug to Dawn and she returns it.
"Thanks Ash" said Dawn.
"We all enjoy your performance today" said Clemont.
"You were pretty in that dress you wore today and your Pokémon were just so cute" said Bonnie with her eyes sparkling.
"Thank you so much Bonnie" Dawn smiles and the trainer head back to the Pokémon to celebrate Dawn's victory.
With Dawn's fourth contest ribbon, all she needs now is her fifth and final ribbon in order to participate at the Grand Festival. As for Ash and Serena, their next gym battle is coming soon but Clemont suggested that they all visit the Pokéball Factory. What new excitement awaits them? Find out soon as the journey continues…
