"Sam and Dean? Wait, do you mean those guys that saved you and your mum all those years ago?" Aidan asked.
"Yeah, those guys." I said with a smile at the memory.
"How in the world do we find them?" He asked.
"With lots of tracking equipment and research." I said with a shrug.
"Okay. That sounds crazy but I somehow think we can do it." Aidan says with a laugh.
"We need a car though. To get around. There's a lot of driving involved and we have too much equipment for us to hitchhike." I said, thoughtfully. Both Aidan and myself could drive. He had his license already but I was getting it only in a months time.
"Maybe we could borrow Jack's?" Aidan suggested.
"Think he'd be okay with it?" I asked.
"Yeah, he'll just use his parents' car to get to school and stuff."
"Okay, so transport is settled. When will we leave?" I asked.
"Probably at night, when Victor is asleep. Even though the front door has an alarm, I think we can manage to get out by jumping out of your room window. Its just a short drop to the lawn and we've had worse." Aidan said, smiling as he remembered the case they had where they had to jump out of a window cause the owner of the house had gotten back earlier than they expected him to.
"Okay, the sooner we leave the better. So I think you should go and get the car from Jack now. Bring it back here and park it under the tree at the end of the street. I'll start packing all the equipment and weapons we need. You can pack your clothes and stuff when you get back here. And spend the night in my room so we can leave when we're sure Victor is asleep." I said, already forming the plan in my head.
"You're amazing, you know that?" Aidan said with a smile, getting up and kissing me.
"So I've been told." I said, smiling while kissing back.
I pulled back and laughed. "Go."
He smiled and said a quick bye before leaving.
Wow. We're actually running away to go find Anna. With the help of Sam and Dean which we have to find first too. I can't believe I'm actually going to see them again. I smiled to myself.
First things first. I get out a bag and start packing survelliance equipment, tracking equipment, two laptops for research, a small handheld printer and some manuals. Basically everything we needed to find Sam and Dean. I took out a tiny video camera and a tracking device and went downstairs.
I manage to install the video camera just above the doorway so we could tell if Victor was on his way out to find us. I go outside to Victors car and install the tracking device underneath the car, so we could see where he was and avoid him more easily.
I go back into the house and make my way to the kitchen. I start looking for some food we could take with us. It was mostly just junk food and water. That reminds me, we needed money.
I go back upstairs and enter Victors room. I make my way to a box hidden at the bottom of Victors cupboard. I remember Aidan telling me when I first arrived that Victor kept all his money in that box because he didn't trust banks. It had a small padlock on it.
I go back to my room and get my lock gun. After I had that it was easy enough to open it. Its ironic that I'm using the same skills that Victor taught me against him. Inside the box was stacks of hundred dollar notes. Each stack had ten notes. In total there were twenty stacks. Victor had twenty thousand dollars? Holy shit that's a lot of money. Where did he get it from? Last I know, he didn't have a real job. He only hunted. And that dosent pay that well. I shook my head. Now's not the time to worry about that. I took out one hundred dollar bill from six stacks so he wouldn't notice the change. I had about six hundred dollars now, which was more than enough.
I put everything back in place, closed the cupboard and got out of the room. I went to my room and started packing clothes and toiletries. We obviously would have to do the laundry at some point. I managed to find the number Sam and Dean gave me all those years back. Should I...? I tried calling it but it was out of service. It would have been so much easier if they answered. I kept it in the bag to take with me anyway.
I walked downstairs to the basement and started packing an arsenal of weapons. We didn't know what we needed so I just thought we should be prepared. Just as I was making my way back upstairs I got a call from Aidan. He said the car was outside and he thought we should put all the bags in the car first so we wouldn't have trouble later. I agreed and met him upstairs. Thank god I finished packing. Between us we managed to load the car in one trip. He then drove the car to the tree at the end of the street and parked. He got out and jogged across the street towards the house.
"So I put a camera above the doorway so we can tell when Victor comes out to look for us and a tracking device under his car." I told him as we were both walking up the stairs to his room. He started looking for clothes. I helped him.
"That's a good idea. So we have the advantage now." He said.
"Oh and we need to leave our phones here and buy new ones that Victor can't track us with." I told him.
"So we need money." He said.
"Nope, I managed to get six hundred dollars from Victors box in his room." I said with a laugh.
He laughed. "Nice."
He paused while holding up a shirt. "I really hope we can find her." He said frowning.
I walked over to him and instinctly put my arms around his neck, forcing him to look at me. He put his hands on my waist and looked down at me.
"Hey, everything's going to be alright, okay? We'll find her. Its not a question of 'if' its a question of 'when'." I said with a reassuring smile.
He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close, hugging me tightly. We didn't say anything for a while, we just stood there, and for a moment it felt as if nothing bad could ever happen to us.
That moment didn't last long. We heard the sound of the front door opening. Sigh. Victor was back. I pulled out of the hug and walked over to the room door to close it while Aidan quickly shoved his half packed bag under the bed. He threw me a magazine and I caught it and lay down on the bed while he sat at the desk, making it look like he was doing his homework.
There was a knock on the room door. We didn't answer so Victor just opened it and came in. I sat up in bed. Victor turned to face the door. I glanced at Aidan. We both knew we had to act like we forgave Victor so he wouldn't think we'd runaway and keep an eye on us or something. Time for some acting.
"Look, about the things I said earlier..." Victor started but Aidan cut him off.
"Its okay. I'm the one who should be apologising. I didn't mean to shout. After cooling down and thinking about what you said...I realise you're right." Aidan said with a shrug.
Victor looked relieved. He smiled a bit then turned to me with a worried expression.
"Its fine. If Aidan's okay with it, I'm okay with it too." I said with a smile.
"Great. Okay, well, dinner will be ready in an hour." Victor said to both of us, clearly relieved everything was fine.
"Do you need any help?" I asked, ever the helpful one.
"Thanks but I've got it." Victor said with a smile, before exiting the room and closing the door.
We both let out sighs as soon as we were sure Victor was out of earshot. I walked over to the door and locked it while Aidan got out his bag again and finished packing. He carried his bag over to my room and put it under my bed. He just stood there for a moment before shaking his head and looking at me.
"This is crazy." He said.
"What? You mean the fact that both of us who are only sixteen are about to climb out a window later tonight and runaway in a car that we borrowed from our friend. And then we'll drive for at least two days before stopping to try and find two hunters that I haven't seen for two years and then after that, assuming we find them, we'll track down your sister who you persumed to be dead until only a few hours ago. Oh, and we'd have to make sure Victor dosent catch us?"
"Yeah, that's what I meant." Aidan had a slight smile on his face.
"Yeah, crazy."
"Mikhaela." Someone shook me lightly. I blinked my eyes open. The room was dark, just a ray of light shining through the opening in the curtains.
"What time is it?" I whispered to Aidan, a little disorientated. He was kneeling next to me. I could see by the faint moonlight that he was already dressed.
"Its about 3 in the morning." He whispered back.
"How about Victor?"
"I checked on him a few minutes ago. I could hear snoring so he's asleep."
"Okay."
Victor only woke up at around 7 to make us breakfast so we were safe. And we told him we'd make our own breakfast today so hopefully he'd wake up later. I managed to dress myself and put on some shoes while Aidan quietly slid the window open. Since all our bags were already in the car all we needed to bring with us was our guns which were already in the waistband of our jeans and Aidan's bag.
"Ready?" Aidan asked me. I nodded and walked over to the window, trying to be as quiet as possible.
Gosh, it was cold outside. I put one foot out on the window ledge, then the other. I took a deep breath and jumped. I managed to land on my side and roll a little. That was the key. If you tried landing any other way, you'd probably break something.
I waved up to Aidan. He threw his bag down to me and I managed to catch it. Thank god he thought of loading the car with all the other bags first. One bag was hard enough. And it was only filled with clothes. Then I moved away as he climbed out the window, closed it behind him and jumped. He landed okay. He got up and grabbed my hand and we both ran to the car, not making a sound.
Its quite cool how everything is at night. Silent, not a sound anywhere. Its like we were the only two people awake.
We reached the car, he got in the drivers side cause he was taking the first shift. I got in the passengers side and closed the door as quietly as I could though I doubt Victor could hear it from all the way back in his room. Aidan started the car and reversed it out and headed for the main road. After that it was a straight road, passing through towns. I reached into the back seat and pulled out a map from the bag.
"Okay, how far should we go before we check into a motel?" I asked Aidan. He glanced over at the map.
"I don't know. What's the plan? I assumed you thought of one cause you're good with that kind of thing." He said with a laugh.
"I did actually." I said.
He raised his eyebrows at me, a sign to carry on.
"Well, I thought we could drive maybe a town over and check into a motel. That way we can be at a safe distance from Victor. From there we can start doing research and try to track down Sam and Dean." I said with a shrug.
"Yep, that sounds like a good plan." Aidan nodded.
I reached into the back and got out a laptop that was connected to the video cam and tracking device I planted on victor. I switched it on and opened the program.
"Okay, everything seems fine." I told Aidan. Meaning, Victor hasn't realised we're gone yet.
"That's good to know."
We were silent for a while before I let out a yawn. Aidan turned to me and grinned.
"How about you get some sleep? I'll wake you when I'm tired then you can take over." He said.
"That sounds good..." I said, already drifting off to sleep.
