Another chapter! I am sorry these chapters are short but I honestly like this chapter. I feel like I need to make a lot up to you guys for all the months I wasted. Chapter 21 I Would Die For You

A love so dark
Against that moon
With a silken cord
She spoke too soon

"Chiro..."Jess whispered softly her fingers lightly stroking his back. It was late at night and the aura of what the had done in the room was still in the air. The moon shining across the bed. She didn't really remember how they ended up in this situation but she knew she didn't regret a single moment of it. "Hmm?" He mumbled softly kissing her shoulder his fingers softly carding through her hair. She smiled softly hinting the slight sound of sleep starting to pull him away. "I love you." She spoke softly afraid that if her voice raised any higher it would break the calming intimate moment that they were sharing. Chiro pulled back looking at her softly moving his hand to cradling her cheek. She nuzzled into the gentle touch looking into his deep loving eyes.

"I love you too, Jessica and I always will." He promised gently stroking his thumb across her cheek. She hummed nodding gently laying her hand on top of his and twines their fingers together. Chiro smiles a little looking at her arm moving his lips to the marks that litter her arms. "You are so beautiful...I don't deserve your love" He muttered softly the guilt eating away at him knowing that he had caused all this pain on the one person he would ever love. He moved back up gently resting his forehead against hers staring into her watery eyes.

"Don't say that." Jess pleaded softly hoping the pain didn't show in her tone. Of course it did show but Chiro said nothing of it. She gently nuzzled their nose together not breaking their eye contact as their lips gently brushed together. "You are my everything and I would die for you."She whispered against his lips savoring the gentle touch before he pulled her head closer deepening the kiss. When they ran out of breath they pulled back they stayed frozen clutching to each other afraid the other would disappear. When they couldn't stand it any longer they once again began stealing chaste kisses and gentle touches promising forever and a love that neither was willing to give up on. Chiro would protect her, he always did.

"I won't let it come to that, because I would be lost without you Jess..."

Present

Blood.

There was so much blood the stench of blood and putrid ooze making its way to Chiros nose. He stared in shock his body refusing to move as he watched two black oozing rods shoot out from the casket impaling Jessicas stomach. his fists were trembling as he saw her wings grow limp and his love gurgling on her own blood. Her pained eyes stared at him pleading begging for him to help. The team watched in horror before noticing Vellina was laughing slowly walking towards the dieing girl.

"It is starting! The master will be reborn!" She screeched happily dipping her hand into the blood that was dripping off her back into the casket. She smirked licking the blood off her fingers yanking the girls head back hissing in her ear. "Your friends are too late now!"

"Get away from her!" Chiro howled unleashing the power primate landing nearby grabbing Vellina throwing her into a wall. He roared causing several rocks to fall and the landings to collapse most of the dark shadows falling becoming an ooze puddle when they splattered to the ground. He did not see Mandarin sneaking up behind him but before the simian could strike another simian slammed into him pounding him into a wall. As the team landed and waited for the dust cloud to dissipate they saw Nova throwing the bloody beaten Mandarin to the ground.

"Nova!" Sparx exclaimed running up to her hugging her tight careful of her wounds. As far as they could see she had several large bruises starting to form and a couple of cuts on her face, but she was not badly hurt. She hugged him back smiling weakly as the two walked back toward the group.

"The military showed up and are helping the citizens so I thought you guys might need some help." She chuckled softly until she caught sight of Jessica." Oh go Jessica..." She cried her body trembling her knees growing weak and she would have fallen had it not been for Sparx holding her up. Their leader was already under control again his anger and the power primate being kept locked away. All that mattered right now was Jessica.

"Jessica we're going to get you out of this I promise." He promised her softly kissing her forehead holding the hand that was reaching out for him. The boy looked to his mentor and it shocked the simian. What he saw was a vulnerable, scared man afraid to break the very thing he was promising that it would be ok. When in truth he had no idea if it would be alright or not. His eyes pleaded to his best friend. 'Help me.'

"Chiro gently rest your arm against her back and her legs and keep her elevated while I remove the rods." Antauri said watching as he got into position and Antauri turned to his brothers and saw they were guarding the three of them. Antauri relaxed his body forcing his claws purple and shifting the rods back into the ground. He winced and lost his focus when Jess screamed in pain her body tensing up. Antauri waited until she seemed to calm down and could faintly hear Chiro whispering softly into her ear his forehead resting against hers. After what felt like hours Antauri was able to remove the rods from jessicas stomach and Chiro gently carried her over to a shadowed area softly resting her body against the ground gently cradling her head up. Bleeding profusely from her stomach. Blood began trailing down her lip as she breathed in short gasps.

"Jessica baby I'm so sorry." He choked her empty eyes staring back at him. He took off His jacket and pressed it against her wounds. "Please please please...don't do this to me, don't do this to our baby" he cried. At first it was just silence but then he felt a cold trembling hand resting on his.

"Chiro" She rasped a smile softly etching her face. Chiro sobbed in frustration as his jacket began to soak in her blood.

"Gibson!" Chiro shouted and the blue simian was by his side taking in the damage lifting up the girls shirt noticing that her wounds were not healing. He didn't have any of his tools and she was bleeding out so fast she would be long gone before Gibson got back with the correct tools. He sadly shook his head softly placing a hand on Chiro shoulder before walking away to tell the others and to give the two their space.

"You can't do this. You are strong and have a child waiting for his mom and dad to come home. I can't do this without you love." He pleaded tears trailing down his cheeks falling onto her face. Jess weakly raised her hand to softly touch his cheek.

"Do you remember our first kiss?" She asked so quietly Chiro almost missed it. He nodded his heart breaking at the small smile she wore.

"I was walking you back to the restaurant and we sneaked up to the roof watching the stars and then I said the cheesiest line ever before I kissed you." He said softly the tears refusing to stop from falling and fell even more when he saw she was still smiling and felt her thumb gently brushing his cheek. her eyes were soft but dim.

"Tell Hope I'm sorry... share the story of how we met and fell in love, a-and every night you tuck him in tell him his mommy loves him very much..."She asked tears starting to fill her eyes. Chiro didn't say anything he just turned his head softly kissing the palm of her hand unable to speak. "Please." She choked her own tears falling now. Slowly Jessica's feathers started to turn into ash her wings beginning to disappear into the wind. Her time was coming fast. The boy made a pained sound nodding softly brushing her hair out of her face.

"I will but...I can't be without you Jess!" He sobbed softly resting their foreheads together showing her the broken man that would be left if she was gone. "Please I'll be so alone, I could never love another just you." He choked softly brushing their noses together before kissing her. He poured his soul and love into that kiss and she did the same softly stroking his hair trying to ignore the pain. They pulled apart slightly their breaths mingling together.

"My love..."He cried softy pulling out an item from his pocket. He had planned on doing this at a better moment but they had no other options right now,"...would you please be mine forever?" He asked gently holding the object in between their hands, cool to the touch. She sobbed softly causing an episode of coughing up blood and whimpering as she felt the light metallic object.

"Yes...always." She whispered feeling the band slip on with ease. Chiro gently wiped the blood from her lip before gently kissing her pale soft lips one last time. "I'm scared...please don't leave me alone." She begged softly trying to reach for his warmth as he pulled back.

"Shh it'll be alright..."He held her close the remnants of her wings charred in the ground." I'm here I won't leave you." He promised kissing her forehead not caring as the blood began to stain his clothes. "I love you Jessica" He whispered brokenly the tears coming back. She softly sighed giving in to her body. It was exhausted and needed to rest even though she fought her hardest to keep going.

"I love you too, Chiro." She said softly as everything became black and her body grew limp. Chiro just gently rocked back and forth holding her close the sobs wracking his body. Jess knew as she was dieing there would be so much pain and sadness. But that was okay because Chiro was there protecting her. Knowing that she hesitantly welcomed deaths embrace.

I just, ah, don't know how to explain what I wrote. I don't like to put lyrics into chapters but I really loved this song and I just thought it fit perfect. This is not the last chapter so do not fret but it will not be forever until i update again. I promise you that. Again I'm sorry. I should be able to post another chapter up in a week I will have to see how much work I have this week and I also have college starting up again but I should have the next chapter up some time later this week.
