Chapter 21: Showdown on Mutual Self! Zoro vs. Zoro!
Wealth, fame, power…Gold Roger, the king of the pirates obtained this and everything else this world has to offer. And his dying words drove countless souls to the seas.
"You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I've gathered together in one place! Now you just have to find it!"
These words lured men into the Grand Line in pursuit of dreams greater than they've ever dared to imagine. This is the time known as 'The Great Pirate Era'.
The two Zoros continued to cross swords with neither one getting an advantage over the other. They pushed each other back several feet.
"You're pretty good." Edo-Zoro said. "It feels unusual having to fight against myself like this."
"Yeah it does feel weird, doesn't it?" Zoro said.
"I'm the co-captain Edolas 2nd Magic Warfare Unit. My name is Zoro Raijin."
"I'm a member of the Straw Hat Pirates. I'm Roronoa Zoro."
"Well then Roronoa, shall we begin?" Raijin said, drawing another sword. "I'll show the true power of my magic swords."
"Bring it on." Zoro said, putting his bandana on and draw his other two swords. Thus the battle between the two Zoros has begun.
The two Zoros stood across from each other, waiting for one to make the first move. During the time, Zoro sheathed one of his swords. They jumped at each other and their swords clashed. The impact was so powerful that it made a shockwave around them. They pushed each other back several feet and cuts appeared on Raijin and Zoro's cheek.
"How about you and I skip the warm up?" Raijin said as one of his sword started to glow. "I want to know how strong you really are." The blade on his sword changed into a long blade with a triangular arrow-like point. "Velocity Sword!" In a blink of an eye, Raijin sped towards Zoro with his sword and Zoro quickly blocked it.
'Damn, he's fast!' Zoro thought, trying to follow Raijin's movements. Then Raijin appeared in front of Zoro and they clash swords again. Raijin pushed Zoro back and came charging towards the swordsman.
"Explosion!" Raijin swung his other sword down at Zoro and created an explosion, pushing the pirate into a wall.
"How is he changing his swords like that?" Zoro asked himself, looking at Raijin's swords.
"Even though our weapons may be different, the properties in my swords are the same as the properties in Erza's spear. Our attack power increases by power of our weapon."
"Is that right?" Zoro said with a smirk on his face. "Wanna put that to the test?" Then Raijin's sword changed again into one with the edges pointing towards the blade.
"Wind Sword…" Raijin fired a blast of wind his sword towards Zoro. Zoro raised both his head, preparing to counter.
"72 Caliber Phoenix!" Zoro fired two powerful wind blades at Raijin's attack, causing the both of them cancel each other out. Raijin charged towards Zoro and the two crossed swords again with Zoro pushing Raijin back. "Two Sword Style: Nii Giri!" Zoro launched himself towards his Edolas counterpart, surprising him. "Tower Climb!" Zoro slashed his upwards, getting Raijin off balance.
"Damn!" Raijin cursed.
"Return!" Zoro slashed downwards but Raijin quickly blocked it with his swords but was pushing back into a wall. A cloud of dust filled the air, shrouding the Edolas captain. When it cleared, it revealed Raijin standing here unharmed.
"You're really are strong." Raijin said. "I expected no more from myself. That means I wouldn't be holding back anyone. You'll feel the full power of my sword.
"That's fine by me." Zoro said with a smirk, drawing Wado from its sheath and putting it in his mouth. "Bring me your best shot."
Then both of Rajin's swords changed again. The sword in Raijin's left now has a crimson blade with a black back end looking like flames. The sword on his right hand has a blue blade with the back end looking like waves. "These are strongest form of these two swords." He said. "These are the double dragons." Raijin raised his blue sword in the air. "First, the dragon of ice…" Raijin swung his sword out and release a blast of ice at Zoro but he quickly moved out of the way. "Now the dragon of fire…" The red sword was engulfed in flames as Raijin swung it at Zoro.
Zoro blocked with his swords but starting to feel the heat emitting from Raijin's sword and was getting pushed back. Raijin smirked as he slashed his flame upwards, causing his counterpart lose his balance and slashed Zoro's shoulder with his ice sword. Zoro skidded back, glaring at Raijin. Raijin launched himself towards Zoro, preparing to attack again. Zoro tried to block but it was too late and he receiving an X-shaped cut on his chest. Zoro gritted in pain, feeling the sting from Raijin's attack as he tries to regain his balance. He straightened his arms out and took a huge huff of air.
"One Gorilla…Two Gorilla…" Then Zoro put his swords in a triangle over his head. "Come on."
"If you're that much in a hurry to die, let you move along!" Raijin shouted, charged towards Zoro.
"Three Swords Style…Two Gorilla Slice!" The two clashed once again and sparks were flying. Zoro let a fierce roar as he overwhelms Raijin's attack.
'What a fierce attack!' Raijin thought as Zoro tossed him hard into a wall. Zoro landed on his feet as the dust started to clear and showed Raijin struggling to get to his feet.
"I'm not losing to you…" Raijin said, breathing heavily. "You and your friends are going to get King Faust's way." He pointed his sword at Zoro, preparing to attack him.
"Three Swords Style…Bull Demon…" A dark bull shaped shadow cover Zoro as he dashed towards Raijin.
"I won't let you get anywhere near me!" Raijin shouted as he released a wave of flame from his fire sword. Zoro dodged the wave and kept charging towards Rajin. Raijin released a wave of ice from his ice blade. Zoro made no attempt to dodge but he slashed through the ice instead.
'He broke through the ice!' Raijin thought with his eyes wide in shock.
"…Bull Hooves!" Zoro slashed through his Edolas counterpart, sending him flying behind the pirate hunter. Raijin widen in shock and pain as blood coming out of his wound. Raijin crashed to the ground and the two magic swords were broken. Zoro looked back at Raijin and saw that he was unconscious. He sheathed his swords and started to leave.
"Where…do you think…you're going?"
Zoro looked behind his shoulder and saw Raijin struggling to get up from his spot. "It's over. You lost."
"Is that what you think?" Raijin questioned, grabbing the hilt of the sword haven't use in the battle. "It's true that I don't the strength left to drag this any further. But I have enough for one final attack." He drew his sword and pointed it at Zoro. It looked like the Shusui sword that Zoro won from Ryuma in Thriller Bark but the blade is pure white. "This is the holy sword, the strongest of my three swords. It's been awhile since I had an opponent forcing me to use this sword. I'll cut you down with this sword."
"Fine but don't get mad if you end up losing in the end." Zoro said, grabbing the scabbard of Wado Ichimonji. Raijin narrowed his eyes at Zoro and charged towards him one last time.
"Single Sword Style…" Zoro rotated his sheathed sword in his hand. "Sword Draw…" Raijin jabbed his sword at as the pirate quickly drew his sword and in a second… "…Lion's Strike!" Zoro slowly slid his sword back into its sheath. When he made one final clank after fully sheathing it, blood spurted out of Raijin's chest.
"I lost…" Raijin said, slowly falling to his knees. His eyes rolled back from the pain. "I never imagined that this day would come…" As he was falling, Raijin used what little strength he had left to turn his body and land on his back unconscious.
"Thank you…" Zoro said. "Thank you for a good fight."
