Hey. I'm — Wait. Who am I?
I look around, fear swelling up in my chest like a balloon. Where am I? Why can't I remember anything? And why is my hair pink?!
I seem to be in a sort of.. Snow home? And there's people.
I scratch my head and sit up. There's 3 other girls and two boys. They're all doing something, like grooming big dogs, and two others are chopping up some meat. There's one boy sitting behind me, and I realize my head was resting in his lap.
I turn to look at him. He's smiling widely. He's kinda cute, with his mop of brown hair and crystal blue eyes. He's wearing a big coat and gloves, like the rest of the kids.
I'm wearing coat and snow pants too, but I'm still frozen like ice.
"She's awake, guys." The boy calls out. All the other children turn and stare at me. I can't help but feel embarrassed.
"Who — What—" I stop myself before I can sound too much like an idiot.
"You don't remember anything, do you?" A little girl asks. I shake my head sadly.
"We just found you outside in the snow. You were only wearing shorts and a shirt!" The other boy exclaims. "You nearly froze to death, but we got you just in time. What's your name?"
I shrug my shoulders. "I don't know."
"Where are you from?"
"I don't know." I answer again, starting to get seriously irritated. "Who are you people anyways?"
"I'm Rebekah, and that's Mona, Lexi, Chad—"
"And I'm Cody," the guy behind me says, smirking.
Rebekah looks to be around 12 years old, with a short blonde bob cut, big blue eyes, pursed lips and and pale skin.
Mona is probably 10 or 11, with curly red hair and blue eyes also. She's smiling widely, almost like she's always happy.
Lexi looks like Mona's twin, which she probably is. Except Lexi has a rounder face and shorter hair.
Chad was probably around 9 years old, with short cropped blonde hair, and small blue eyes.
And Cody. Well. He's extremely attractive to say the least. He seems to be the oldest, maybe 15?
"I'm..." I trail off, then quickly remember I don't know my own name. "You guys should give me a name, just until my memory comes back."
If my memory comes back, I think sadly.
"I think she looks like an Edith." Rebekah blurts out, grinning almost devilishly. I feel intimidated and look at my hands.
"No, Rebekah. That's an ugly name and you..." Cody faces me and lifts my chin up, so I'm staring into his eyes. "Are definitely not ugly."
If I wasn't so cold, I'd be blushing right not. Thank the gods I didn't blush though, because now is not the time to act like a stupid giddy little girl.
"What about... Leslie?" Mona asks. "I think she looks like a Leslie."
"Me too!" Lexi agrees excitedly, raising her hand in the air.
Cody shrugs and looks at me questioningly. "Yes or no?"
I give a hint of a smile. "Leslie's a pretty cool name."
I look around the igloo again, and realize its ginormous. There's about six dogs all huddled in one area, and Chad and lying beside them, petting their backs. There's also and area with makeshift beds, and another area with a hot stove and a kettle on top, plus three crates filled with food, water and a couple metal pots. I then realize something else.
"Where's your parents?" I ask them. They seriously are not old enough to be living by themselves.
"Mama and Papa went on a hunting trip the other day, and won't be back for awhile." Chad answers, right away. Almost too quickly.
"And now Cody's in charge!" Lexi shrieks excitedly. I notice Cody roll his eyes.
"Where are we, exactly?" I question
"Antarctica." Rebekah replies, giving me a dirty look. Well good morning to you too, sunshine.
"Do you want some cocoa?" Mona probes, as the kettle water boils. She takes out a few tin mugs and pours the water into them.
"Yes, please." I say, thankful that at least the rest of the kids are nice to me. Also because I get to warm up some with the hot chocolate.
The day goes by pretty fast, and we mostly just spend the whole time talking, but then its time for sleep. Like jeez I got enough sleep already you guys aren't seriously going to leave me sitting here in the quiet darkness by myself all night, right?
...Right?
