The Portals

"I'll leave you all to get acquainted with." Jonathan winked and left the room.

Everyone was staring at Valentine.

Except for the Jaymes, who were running to greet their mother. Bruised and battered as she was, she still gave one of the most powerful hugs, thought Blu.

Valentine stared at everyone. He looked different. He was skinnier, lankier, less built. He had a kindness in his eyes, that he'd lost after his father had died. His white hair was matted to his head with sweat, and he wore a tore up gray T-shirt, and a probably white, but has been so messed much, that they're now dark gray, sweat pants.

He'd never looked sexier, Jocelyn thought.

"Vale-how?" she asked.

"Jocelyn?" he said. He even sounded nicer. He cautiously walked over to her, stared her down for a few seconds, then grasped her in a huge hug. She just kept her arms down to her side.

He let her go and looked her in the eyes. "How are you alive?"

"I've always been alive."

"No you haven't. You died. Struck down by the angel."

"That was clone me."

Everyone said, "What?"

"Yes. I remember when cloning devices first came out, I was ever so eager to try one out. My father had just passed away, and I had shut myself away from the world, in my room. When I came out, I was drowned in work. It was so much stress, so I decide to make a clone to make things easier. I went down to my fathers' basement and cloned myself. I thought, this should be nice. I can get my work done twice as quick. But that wasn't the case."

"Since the clone was born exactly like me, he had my new found hatred for Downworlders. He began to plot their downfall and I tried to stop him. I never realized how stubborn I was." he chuckled. "He started to think that I was a threat, and he locked me up in the basement for years. And I mean years." he sat down on the ground.

"The only time I saw sunlight, was the two times Valentine let me go, and that was only to...interact with you." He said to Jocelyn. "And when Jonathan transferred me from the basement to here, and when he just opened the door to let you in. I miss sunlight terribly. Tell me, how does it feel?"

"Huh?" Jocelyn was astounded.

"Sunlight. How does it feel?"

"Uh-It um... feels warm. As if a blanket of hot were enveloping you."

Valentine closed his eyes and smiled, as if imaging the feel of it

He reopened them. He looked over to Luke. "Lucian. How's life as a man of the moon?"

"It could be worse." he said nonchalantly. You could still tell he was freaking out though.

"So you're the famous Blu? You don't look like much to me." A random voice said. Everyone turned to look at the one that was called Icarus. Right off the bat, Blu could tell he was an asshole.

He had Valentines stark white hair, but he had gray skin. It was glamoured with dark brown skin, which Blu figured would've been his normal color had he not been part demon, and chocolate brown eyes. He had dark brown hair that swept over his eyes, giving him an emo look.

"Yeah. At least people have heard of me. Who the fuck are you?"

Icarus grunted and said, "My name is Icarus Hayden. Hence the wings." He turned around, and sure enough, there were black wings, looking as if they were made of smoke.

He turned back around. "What's your demonic sign? Oh, I know. Your annoying ability to frequently curse ? I've heard you have a problem with that."

"So I'm guessing you've also heard about my ability to frequently fuck someone up for bitch-talking me?"

"I hear it now. They were right."

Blu grunted.

"Rus, leave him alone." A quite voice intervened.

Everyone looked to the tiny figure next to him. It was a girl who looked alot like Icarus, except she had light brown, pixie cut styled hair, giving her an innocent angel look. She also had many bruises on her.

"Callate, perra!" he hissed at her in Spanish.

"Hey, don't call your sister a bitch." Blu knew alot of curse words in alot of languages. It was always safe to know.

"Tu hablas espanol?" Icarus asked Blu.

"No. I just know curse words...and what you just said."

"Cifras. Americanos estupidos."

"Who the fuck are you calling stupid?"

"Tu!"

"I don't know that one."

"It means you."

"Oh. Hey!"

"Guys, stop it." the little voice said again.

"Lo que acabo de decir!?"

"Dude! Let her talk. The hell's wrong with you? Go ahead...Isis, right?"

"Yes." She looked at her brother cautiously, who was giving her the death glare. She ran over to Blu and hugged him tightly. He didn't know what else to do, so he hugged her back.

She released him and smiled. "I've heard so much about you. I mean, you've only been known about for 4 days, but everyone's already talking about you."

"Damn straight." he said and smiled.

"Yeah. Rus is muy jealous of you, but I think you're amazing."

"Thanks. So what are you, like, my half-sister or something?"

"Yeees. I never thought of that. That is so cool!" she jumped up and down.

"So that makes Russie, my little brother. Ha!"

"Rot in hell."

"Yeah, I don't think that works for people like us."

"What are you talking about?"

"Well, since we're part Lilith and all, I don't think we'd rot in hell. I think we'd be kings or somethings. The Kings of the Underworld. Oh, I'm sorry. The King and the Kings' jackass."

Isis burst out laughing as Icarus looked as if he were about to blow.

"Wait. So, you two are Valentine's children as well?" Luke, who'd been quiet this entire time, spoke.

"Duh." Blu and Icarus said.

"You guys agreed on something. Oh god. It's the start of the apocalypse." Theo said and Blu elbowed him. It was nice with this happy change of pace.

Then everything went silent again for a while.

"So. How are we supposed to get out?" Blu finally asked.

"We can't." Valentine said solemnly.

"How do you know?"

"Because I've tried a heap of different spells, but as long as we're trapped in this Degelic pentagram, magic is useless." Icarus butted in.

"Yes, because you're an expert on all this." Blu sarcastically said. "And what's The Jellan? You mean Jello? The Jello? Learn your english, man."

"Says Casper the Ghost. And it's a pentagram made to hold Angelic and Demonic forces. De-gelic. Tu comprendo? De-gelic." He sounded it out for Blu as if he were a kindergartner.

"There's no such thing as an angelic pentagram." Jace fixed.

"Oh no." Blu mumbled quietly, though not quiet enough.

"What oh no? Tell me, Casper." Blu looked over to Jace anxiously, the worry plain to see in his jade green eyes.

"Well... ok. No one get mad at me, but Jonathan tortured it out of me, so I had no choice. But there's this book that Uncle Magnus has...had. An old one, like the Book of the White or the Gray, one of those. Except it didn't hold anything demonic, it held things angelic. Like, had to trap an angel, how to not be harmed by angelic objects, stuff like that."

"Wait, hon. Did it have a pentagram with the letter 'U' in the center of it, on the cover?" Charice spoke.

"Yeah. How'd you know?"

"When I first brought you to Magnus, you were reading it. Speaking in a wierd language. All the clicks and clack sounds you make are-

"Is a demonic language. Jonathan told me."

"How come he couldn't read it himself?" Jace asked.

"Because he was trained in the ways of the angel. As a Shadowhunter. He'd lost some of his demonic power from it. Not me, because I wasn't trained as one. So I have more demon in me."

"So what I'm hearing is, you're more powerful than him?" Theo asked, grinning.

"No. He still has all that training and junk. It'd take years for me to get on the level he's on."

"So then you're basically useless?" Icarus said.

"Like you, trying to get out of here, you immigrant piece of-

"Wait!" Valentine yelled. Everyone turned in his direction. He looked up at his son. "Where's the book now?"

"Jonathan took it."

Valentine hurriedly got up and scurried over to him. He put his hands on Blus' shoulders. "Did he say where he was going? Any indication as to where he is?"

"Uh...he never said! Just something about Machu Picchu and Jerusalem." Valentine let him go and rubbed his chin, thinking.

He turned to face the crowd of confused spectators. "Think. What's so special about Machu Picchu and Jerusalem?"

"Ooh! I know." Blu raised his hand then put it down. "Jerusalem is the holy land. That's all I got."

"Yes, but so is Machu Picchu."

"So?"

"Hmm."

"Those are... parts of the seven holy...sites in the world." A strained voice came. It was Isabelle's. Jace hadn't realized how much he missed her, and ran over to her.

He held her hand as Maryse cradled her head in her lap.

"Seven sacred sites. Yes. If I'm right, they're Mecca, Jerusalem, The Bodhi Tree and Harmandir Sahib in India-

"Mt. Olympus, Machu Picchu, and The Vatican." Isabelle finished.

Those names sound so damn familiar. Where have I heard them before? Argh! I hate not remembering! Man I'm hungry. Wait, if Jonathan left, who's gonna feed us? And if we do get fed, I wonder what it'll be. Sandwiches, salmon, bread and dirt? Or maybe-.

"How do you know all this?" Jace asked, breaking through Blu's thoughts. It was usually Alec, who knew all this.

"Alec told me. I actually listened for once. Glad I had." Figures.

"Can you sit up sweety?" Maryse asked her.

"Yeah, I can." she said, rubbing the fading iratze on her arm. She sat up, her face contorted.

"Why would Jonathan be going to two of the seven sacred sites?" Valentine asked to himself, but Blu overheard him. His eyes expanded as he realized Jonathan's sick plan.

"Oh my god. No, no. No."

Valentine looked up at him. "What? What is it?"

"I...oh no."

Valentine walked back over to his son. "Blu, what is it?"

"It's just...well, there was this one thing I was reciting to him. Something having to do with Lilith and someone else making this huge ritual that affected the entire world. They placed demonic portals on all those sites. That's why the names sounded familiar to me."

Luke's eyes opened. "Wait. A demon ritual affecting the entire world? There's only one that any knows of."

"The Incursion." A gruff voice came. it was Robert's. His arms were back into place, an iratze paling on his skin.

Everyone paled, except for the Jaymes and the Haydens.

"The what?" Blu asked.

"You're pathetic. How do you not know what the Incursion is? Will someone please explain to this dim wit?" Icarus insulted.

"Why don't you explain it to me?"

"Because I'm horrible at explaining things."

"The Incursion was a happening. Everyone had thought that Lilith and Sammael were, dormant, so to speak, but they weren't. One day, they came back and conducted a world scale demonic ritual, that would weaken the borders of our world, allowing demons to get in more easily, and to stay longer. At least 2% made it into our world at that was only Greater demons, and only for 10 minutes or less. The borders of our world were so toxic to a demon, you see. But after the ritual, The Incursion, about 40% demons, even of the tiniest size, could make it in here, and last for days, months even if they wanted. If Jonathan is planning on recreating that ritual-

"Then we're fucked. How do we stop him?"

"I don't think we can. The Incursion is still going on to this day. Demons are entering our borders at a rapid pace."

"More's getting in now than before." Robert added.
"Then he must've already opened one or two of the demon portals. We have to stop him."

"But how? We're trapped." Blu said.

"No you're not." A voice came. Everyone turned towards the door.

"Nana?"

.

.

.

"Nana? What the hell are you doing here, you fucking traitor?" Nana winced.

She walked over to the group. "Look, Blu. I know you can't forgive me right now, but I'm sorry. I know that doesn't make up for it, but I promise. I will. I'll start by getting you guys out." She knelt down and scratched away the white from the pentagram. Blu instantly felt free. He put one foot out the ring, to make sure. When it went out of it, he gave a joyous sigh and came out fully. Everyone eventually followed.

He cautiously stepped towards Nana.

"Don't worry. I'm on your side now."

"How do I know that? How can I trust you?"

"You can't. But you'll have to, if you wanna make it out of here alive."

"Why the sudden change of heart?"

Nana paled, then sighed. "I've liked you for a long ass time, Blu. You just never seemed to notice. Then here comes along this guy who's exactly likes you, but is willing to like me back. It was to hard to resist. To be honest, I thought he would be every bit like you. But I saw his real side, and I knew I wanted out. I'm so-

Her words were interrupted by a short, but passionate kiss from Blu. It left her blushing.

"That's for coming back for me."

The next thing he did made her blush in a more unpleasant way. He raised his hand and punched her. She turned and flew to the ground. She looked back up at him in horrified shock.

"That's for fucking with me." He grinned and held out his hand. She wearily took it and was soon on her feet. They stared at each other for a second, then hugged it out. The hug was interrupted by Charice.

"TAKE yo hands off my boy, slut! You got some nerve touching him, barging in there like you own the god damn place, rescuing us like we need your help or something. We don't need ya damn help. So back the hell away and leave."

"Ma, calm down. She'c cool now."

"Your brothers' dick is gone because of her!"

"What?!" Nana yelled.

"Don't worry about it." A voice came from behind Charice. They turned and saw Ryeland in the shadows. "It's fine."

"Fine!? Your dick is gone! Vamos!"

"Yeah, announce it to the whole fucking world, ma. Thanks."

She paled. "Honey, I'm sorry."

"Whatever." He turned and was off. Charice looked back at Nana. "This ain't over, whore." And turned to run after her son.

"Alright, did Jonathan say he was going in a certain order of the seven?" Icarus asked.

"No."

"Damn. Then we'll just have to wing it. I'll create a portal close to an area, and Is (ice) and I will fly you guys the rest of the way. Let's go to...Jerusalem first."

"Alright. Fine with me. Hey everybody! We're heading to Jerusalem!" Blu yelled. "Come over here!" Everyone ran over to Blu. "Dumb ass over is gonna make a portal to Jerusalem. Hopefully we don't end up in Antarctica."

"True. I don't think I'd be able to see a ghost in the snow."

"Fuck you." Blu said and Icarus laughed.

He then began to chant some words and boom! A portal to Jerusalem was opened.

Blu walked behind Icarus. "Ladies first." He gestured. Icarus grinned, then shoved Blu inside.

.

.

They were standing on a dome, that was overlooking a long wall. I remember that wall from history class. It's sacred, but I forgot why. Blu thought.

He was suddenly tapped on the shoulder. "Wha-" He stopped as he turned around and saw a 13 ft. long, 4 feet wide purple portal. Tiny demons were flying out of them, but Blu knew it was only a matter of time before big and important demons came through.

"How do we turn this off?" Jace yelled above the wind.

"I forgot!"

"You forgot? Oh, well it's ok. Don't worry. Everyone forgets how to close a seriously horrible demonic portal!"

"I'm sorry!"

"Save your damn sorrys."

"Well, what do we do now?"

"I say we go and find Jonathan, kill him, then hopefully by then Blu will remember the way to close these. Sound good?" Isis asked everyone. They all nodded.

"Rus, make another portal."

"No mierda."

He began to chant, and once again, everyone was off.
