Hey guys, I know I promised this ages ago, but that just goes to show how much of a procasternationer (sp) I am. Really I was trying to prepare myself for the lynch mobs I know will be coming after me once you guys read this chapter. So not only do I apologize ahead of time, but I shall put my disclaimer in the same sentence. I do not own One Piece, Oda however does, lucky guy.
LAW
It was easy enough to break into the temple where the wedding ceremony was being held. Now to find the right room. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Mew demanded as she appeared in front of us.
'Crashing the wedding. You said you'd love to see us try." I answered.
"No, no way in hell." Mew replied crossing her arms as if she really thought she could stop us.
"We're determined to get Milo back. Do you really think you can stop us?" Penguin growled. Mew only smirked. That smirk usually meant she had one last trick or two still up her sleeve.
"No, I may not be able to, but Bast most certainly will." Mew answered.
"Who the hell is Bast?" Shachi demanded.
"My spark." Mew answered simply as she began to change. Her hair became longer, her eyes changed from their usual green to a more golden color, her nails became sharp claws and she grew fangs.
Shachi groaned. "Why couldn't I have just had normal sisters?"
"You're asking that now?" Penguin demanded.
"Yes." Shachi answered plainly.
"Why haven't you asked that before? You said it yourself Milo's always been abnormal."
"Yeah, but not to this degree. This, this is just insane." Mew, seeming tired to this nonsense back and forth between Penguin and Shachi, lunged. Shachi tackled her.
"What are you doing?" Mew hissed as if she hadn't expected her brother to stop her attack.
"Stopping you from doing something stupid." Shachi answered. Mew growled. Like children they rolled around for a bit. "Captain go get Milo." Shachi told me as Mew tried to bounce his head off the floor. I was going to point out that I didn't take orders from him, but he was right at this moment. We had much more pressing matters to attend to. I walked around the battling siblings and pushed open the doors to the chapel.
Milo was unconscious on the floor. Kai whirled around when the doors opened. "What are you doing here?" He hissed.
"Retrieving my lost crewmen." I replied scanning Milo for any outwards signs of injury. She appeared fine, a little dressed up, but fine.
"She's no longer yours." Kai replied with a large smirk. Milo groaned and sat up clutching her head.
"Next time you decided to have a conversation don't knock me out." She grumbled her eyes still closed.
"Who are you talking to?" Kai asked her as he glared down at her.
"My spark dumbass." Milo answered opening her eyes to glare back at him. So it seemed both Mew and Milo had sparks. Just what were sparks and how did they allow people to change the way Mew had?
"Are you ready to continue?" Kai asked Milo offering her a hand up.
"Not really." Milo answered taking his hand.
"Oh and why not? You'll be treated like a princess." Kai replied. I smirked. Kai had just said the magic word thought it wasn't magic in a good way, at least not around Milo.
"I don't want to be treated like a stupid princess. I was happy being a fucking pirate!" Milo shouted.
"Then why'd you give it all up?" Kai hissed. Milo looked down at the floor losing all her anger.
"I grew emotionally attached to someone I shouldn't have and then I saw something I probably wasn't meant to see." Milo answered.
"Emotionally attached? What are you? A robot?" Kai growled seeming surprised by Milo's sudden change of heart.
"Coming from a man who's willing to marry a man just so she can destroy the island next door. And no, but it's better than sounding like a stupid school girl with a crush." Milo replied. "But you know what?" She continued looking up determination sparking in her eyes. "It doesn't matter anymore. I'm done with guys. I'm done with thinking I'm in love. It's like everyone says you don't fall in love you fall into a blasted hole." She finished before turning and beginning to walk away. Unfortunately Kai grabbed her arm before she could go too far.
"Good for you. You finally learned your lesson about how cruel the heart can be. However your heart doesn't matter. You were brought here for one reason and one reason only. To destroy the water island. Now you are going to destroy the water island." Kai growled. Milo only smiled, that small secretive smile that said she knew something everybody else had over looked.
"You know what Kai?" Milo asked sweetly. Kai gave Milo a glare in return for her words. "Bite me." She continued before a field of electricity sprang up separating her from the rest of the world. Kai was quick to let go of her arm so he wouldn't get shocked. However the field seemed to have other plans. An arc of energy followed him. When it touched him he dropped to the floor like a stone in water. The electricity disappeared as Kai lied there twitching. Milo swayed as if she'd used up too much of her energy.
"Are you ready to go home now?" I asked her. She jumped at the sound of my voice.
"C-captain. I didn't expect you to be here so soon." She stuttered almost looking like a guilty child.
"So your whole speech on giving up on love wasn't for my benefit?" I asked. Milo shrugged.
"It was more for my benefit I suppose. Of course it doesn't really matter either way. It needed to be said." She informed me.
"Oh and why's that?" I asked.
"Because if I didn't say it than I wouldn't have believed it and right now believing in those words is the only thing keeping me anchored." She replied.
"What do you mean keeping you anchored?"
"I mean keeping me from going ballistic. I'm mad, no I'm pissed and hurt. And tired of being hurt and doing stupid things as a result." She replied. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as if otherwise her next words were going to be shouted. "Look, you've broken my heart three times now. I just can't go through that again." She continued softly hugging herself.
"Three times?" I only knew of at least two possibilities.
"The siren, the princess, and worse of all my own sister."
"I've said this before. There's nothing going on between me and mew!" I shouted. Where the hell would she even get an idea like that?
"Whatever. I'm returning to the sub and to the Heart Pirates, but whatever happened between us is over. I'm nothing more than your technological expert." Milo said. The doors behind me banged open and in rolled Shachi and Mew, or what I assumed was Mew. It was now a giant cat creature. Milo shocked them both.
"Knock it off you two." She snapped. Shachi jumped to his feet.
"Milo you're ok." He shouted gleefully.
"Yeah and ready as all hell to get off this island." Milo replied.
Is it just me or is Milo always eager to leave the islands behind? Sorry just noticed that.
